THREE TIMES A LADY Lady Stetson! My mother wore this in the 90's A LOT. She loved it. This was probably her favorite fragrance after she dumped Avon LOL First of all let me get one thing straight. This is not a cheap perfume. While it's very affordable and inexpensive, it wears just like a more fruitier version of Chanel No. 22. It doesn't smell exactly like No. 22 but it has the strong aldehydes, white jasmine, white rose and sandalwood that evokes No. 22. So while this sells at under 30 bucks it wears like a much more luxurious and expensive fragrance. I remember it was very beautiful on my mother. She let me wear it when I was finally old enough to wear perfume. I wore this one to my high school prom. No one else was wearing this fragrance so I felt very unique. I wore it with a rich dark royal purple prom gown that I had made myself with my mother's sewing machine. The rose in this perfume is not a dominant scent but it makes it's presence known and it's clearly more of a white rose at a wedding. That's probably the lady part of it's moniker. The carnation is stronger to my nose as is the ylangylang the latter being the strongest player. Wears like a creamy yellow flower. The peach in this fragrance is sweet and rather tart. Alright I'm being polite. It's a slutty sexy seductive peach! I found it less lady like than the peach in Lanvin's Arpege. It's like a cheeky naughty married British aristocratic lady who wears floral perfumes with her conservative attire but who is sleeping with the chauffeur or gardener. This should have been called LADY CHATTERLEY like the heroine in D.H. Lawrence's novel Lady Chatterley's Lover. This makes me feel very sexy but I don't find it appropriate for teenage girls. I was wearing my mother's perfume to the prom for God's sake LOL Fortunately no one else knew that but me. This suits a woman in her late 20's and in her 30's. It's very sophisticated. The dry down comes off as clean and warm and that's definitely the amber working on your skin. There is also significant musk at the end so you get a woodsy musky strong dry down. It lasts and lasts for hours. I remember I smelled of it the next morning after prom. It is a sultry fragrance of strong classic aldehydes, a peachy opening note and a white floral accord with woods at the base. It wears more like a floral chypre. This fragrance was first released by my favorite company COTY in 1986. And this is totally an 80's power house fragrance. So if you like 80's perfumes, strong aldehydes and Chanel No. 22 but a more affordable version, this is for you. I could never wear this again because it takes me back to Prom Night and I don't want to go there anymore LOL

Poor degraded Lady Stetson, like Cinderella the day after the ball, doomed to the lowest, cheapest perfume shelf in Wal-Mart, even below RiRi and Guess. In a thin, thoughtless paperboard box with only three flaps and the cheapest of cheap bottles with a bendable cap, outclassed by Katy Perry and Justin Bieber scents, consigned to shame. For those who choose to rescue her, she reveals a stunning beauty. There's definitely an overlap with Chanel No. 22. I have Lady Stetson on my left wrist and Les Exclusifs de Chanel No. 22 on my right wrist. Not identical by any means, but if you live for the scent of No. 22, you MUST try Lady Stetson. No. 22 is deep, plush, velvety like the petals of an iris with aldehydes like chirping Disney birds in a sparkly rainbow - there is no hyperbole too extreme for No. 22, this is a perfume created through some sort of spiritual intervention that I hope was divine and not something else because I am addicted to No. 22. Lady Stetson smells like Chanel created a soap with the No. 22 fragrance, that's the best I can describe it. No. 22 through a glass, darkly. The outlines are there; the aldehyde, the ylang-ylang. Only details differ. Lady Stetson reminds me more of the old No. 22 that used to be sold commonly at department stores (next to No. 5 & No. 19), which I used in the EDT form in an opaque white bottle for years. If they would take the AMBER out of this, it would be closer to No. 22. They could take out the sandalwood, too, but maybe that's what holds it together. I love Lady Stetson. If you are unfortunate enough to have to go to Wal-Mart for something pedestrian like pipe tape, swing by the fragrances section and rescue a bottle. This Lady should not have to stand next to the rabble on that bottom shelf.

today i found an old bottle of this from about ~2 years ago and decided to spray it just for fun. i remember only a short time i first bought it i shelved it as it was sort of a weak, musky aldehyde that lasted not long at all. however, today it’s completely different! i don’t know if it macerated, my memory is wonky, or i just wasn’t able to appreciate it yet. first, it was a lot more vibrant than i remembered. the tangerine and aldehydes are front and center, softened and made more feminine by the florals and musk. it’s a well blended, smooth, but fun and playful smell and it lasts sooo long. it’s been about 7 hours and i still smell it on myself. i can’t explain it but something about it REALLY strikes me as feminine but outdoorsy, maybe it’s the moss note. if you’re a gourmand person, you probably won’t be a fan of this for yourself, but for me, i am so excited to find a fruity-floral that’s clean, juicy, fresh, and without the presence of vanilla something about lady stetson seems to present itself as sort of old fashioned, and while it definitely has a classical vibe, it still feels fun and exciting. i’m absolutely in love with it, not even mentioning i got it for 20 bucks at walmart. definite hidden gem

I grew up in a rural Texas town, far removed from the bustle of Houston, which is the closest big city. All my peers and I rode horses and most of us had cows, chickens and lived on small farms. I was in junior high during 89-91, and Lady Stetson was ubiquitous. The boys all wore Stetson and Aspen and all the girls wore Lady Stetson and Exclamation! I revisited this again, like many on this site, thanks to Tania Sanchez's review. The first spray took me right back to skin-tight Rocky Mountain jeans and sky-high hair. After consciously trying to overcome the prejudice of my past, I can smell Lady Stetson for what it is, an inexpensive, aldehyde bright floral/musk. The aldehydes linger for quite awhile on my skin, which is nice. It dries down gradually to a powdery floral, and four hours into wearing it, I'm noticing the musk, which is staying very close. I do not find this scent sharp at all, but neither do I find it brilliant like TS claims. What I do find is a lovely scent, absolutely fine for every day and every situation wear. It is casual, light and the florals are well blended. It is not a cloyingly sweet fruit-chouli, for which I am thankful. My best advice, wear this and appreciate it for what it is.

The cruel tragedy that plagues Lady Stetson? She is accessible, overlooked, and comes in cheap, ugly packaging. I wish Coty would give the lovely Lady Stetson a much-deserved makeover. Very soft and smooth. It is difficult to discern the individual notes, they meld tunefully. The aldehydes are the light, breezy, waxy, soapy type, there is prominent carnation, soft lactonic peach, ylang-ylang, sweet rose, smooth jasmine. The base is a blend of sandalwood, iris, warm, sweet musks, soft amber, moss, and a hint of vanilla. Warm, refreshing, powdery, soft, pretty, effortlessly graceful. Beautiful structure, classic composition, very feminine. It is discouraging to consider the continued neglect of this gorgeous $15 cheapie. Large conglomerates push a veritable slew of designer releases, at ridiculous prices, that smell abrasive, lack refinement, and are often unpleasant. How did we arrive here? How might we return to form?

Boy is this a strong POWERHOUSE!!! I sprayed it in my bedroom before getting dressed and although I loved the smell, my eyes watered and I thought I was going to die getting dressed, the aldehydes was so strong (didnt help that I dont like aldehydes in the first place). I dont recommending using in small or enclosed spaces. that said this lady is a strong, sweet, spicy oriental. Opening was carnation & oakmoss at the front, with a room filling throw. After a half hour to an hour the jasmine, peach & ylang ylang starts stepping into center stage with sillage at arms length... 4-6 hours later it's mostly peach, musk, and sandalwood sweetness with about 6" sillage.. I love this Lady in all her stages (could do without the aldehydes). Its sillage is huge and lasts 8-10 hours on me, extremely rare.. fyi - this was a newly purchased bottle so if it was reformulated then this is for the new version..

Scrolling through perfumes, I was reminded of something or other by Coty, and now I'm straight down the rabbit hole, indulging the guilty pleasures of these terrific drugstore cheap perfumes that it's just a little embarrassing to admit to absolutely adoring. Lady Stetson absolutely embodies that love. Is it fancy? Nope. Precious? Nope. Exotic, Nope and nope. Just reliably comfortable and comforting. I'm surprised the notes listed musk so close to the bottom of the list, since to me, it's essentially a musk-centric perfume, with warm notes of amber and leather and wood. 100% would wear right now if I had a bottle.

Just ordered a few bottles of this one on line. Can't wait to smell it again :) I used to wear it a lot in my teen years in the 90's. It always seemed like i would get some for Christmas's or my birthday. As i remember,it has pretty good lasting power and somewhat of a heavy musky scent. I really liked it :) Another good fragrance that's been discontinued unfortunately :( I think this is definitely a Fall scent and could go well as a winter scent too. I think the whole cow girl theme suited it well as it seems to match brown suede and cowboy/girl boots etc etc An old school gem for sure :)

This is really not at all what I was expecting. There is a certain "grand dame" about this but it is not sweet at all to me. Soapy, woody, dry, full. I can see what all the hype is about. A very big Chanel no. 5 vibe. I ordered this online but was so intrigued that I tried to find it in a store before it arrived, but to no avail. Of course, there are no testers anyway in the time of Covid 19, so I waited not so patiently for this to arrive. A one ounce bottle was about $12 with free shipping on Ebay. I will update for longevity and any comments from housemates.

Lady Stetson is a drug store gem, one I never wore it in the past. I've read that it's a poor woman's Chanel No. 22 which I also love. To paraphrase Luca Turin, "It smells as good as Chanel 22." Overlook the marketing and just try it! A friend who has a vast collection of perfumes from high end to low end once told me Lady Stetson is one of her most complimented fragrances. I recommend this as one to try for very little money. Powder lovers should definitely give it a whiff. To me it's perfect for autumn weather.

I have had this in the past & really liked it. I recently inherited a bottle of the "Aspen" (spin-off) version, which I love, from my late Mother. It is a more fresh & green scent than the Lady Stetson original version. No page here yet on Aspen. But Lady Stetson is a good quality drugstore classic worth every penny & more than it's generic price. A steal-of-a-deal, for sure!

There are a few inexpensive scents that soothe my soul, scents that make me feel loved, and comfortable. Lady Stetson, Vanderbilt Gloria Vanderbilt, & Heaven sent. *Lady Stetson is a very feminine fragrance. Something that would make a person smile when they think of you. It's a first love scent...stays in your memory and gives you the warm fuzzies.

Lady stetson is a masterpiece. It has beautiful notes and tones. It is very warm and comforting. The peach notes combined with A powdery aldehydic dry down seem To create a unique and fresh bouquet. Although it is an older 80s fragrance It remains classy and timeless. I wish it would be more available. I am sad I seldom find it.

Lovely classic, warm cinnamon , soapy and some peach. You can find it cheap on ebay or amazon. BUT if you go to Walmart is closer to $18.98 for 1 ounce !crazy. Still love this perfume, Ill just have to shop around ,lol. Compliment getter. Believe me its not as Dirt cheap as some people are saying..

To me, this is one of the best drugstore fragrances of all time. It was my signature in middle school and I’m just now rediscovering it at almost 40. How could I have forgotten this beauty? I‘m a big fan of classic Chanel and Lady Stetson is an affordable way to get my “Chanel” fix!

My husband likes this one so I will wear it. Like the spicy notes and then powdery fresh at the bottom notes. smells better than some more expensive perfumes

I never noticed until now that this sort of reminds me sunscreen lotion. I also got a bit on my hands and I definitely smell a little rose.

Late October, cold and windy, and the peach-toned box of Lady Stetson spoke to me from the back of my perfume cabinet. It was the right choice! It is a light aldehydic floral, a bit old-fashioned and powdery in tone but definitely ladylike and not "old lady". It has a warmth that suits autumn weather without hitting you over the head. Good longevity for a drugstore bargain: it is going on 8 hours with a single spray on each of my wrists and one at the base of my throat. Not a lot of sillage, but I'm still getting very pleasant wafts as I go about my day. I don't find it really soapy, though the aldehydes definitely announce themselves together with a peach top note. A rose peeks through now and then, but the most prominent flower notes to my nose are the ylang-ylang and carnation. Sandalwood and amber notes definitely make an appearance during the drydown, and linger. I suspect that this fragrance "wears" better in low humidity weather, which may be why some people find it best in fall and winter. I'm loving how nice it smells on this chilly October day. I wouldn't have tried this, but for the high rating by Turin and Sanchez (4 stars), and I'm so glad I did. For a very low price, you can enjoy a pretty, ladylike, non-fruity floral with warm undertones, and if it works on your skin as it does on mine, it will last for hours without overwhelming others near you. Soft and lovely. Try it -- what have you got to lose?

recently, ive been on the hunt for cheap-o perfumes on my drugstore and grocery runs, and lady stetson's bottle enticed me 1. for its incredibly bold descriptors and vintage date and 2. because it was in a 50% off christmas set of cologne and hair mist at walmart (shoved waaaayy in the back) normally, i am partial to gourmand sweet scents or florals, but this one caught me off guard in how much i really enjoyed the powdery aldehydes. it opens as soap.. plain simple straight forward dove body bar. but once it drys down and heats up about thirty minutes later-- man! it is a beautiful woody, musky, almost tangy and sharp (i would presume from the orange) scent. amber and aldehydes are things i usually tend to stray away from as they make me sneeze, but lady stetson is quite pleasant and forgiving on the nose. i've received quite a few compliments on this one when i wear it to work. the silage and longevity are surprisingly good, i could spend an entire day at my physically demanding workplace and still catch subtle whiffs of it 8 hours later it is very clean, professional, and super feminine smelling. definitely a more mature scent (not particularly grandma-ish though). there is a lot of nostalgia i get from LS, i believe my mom wore something similar. For a total blind buy with the price tag of 8 USD for a decently sized bottle, i don't think you can go wrong with lady stetson. total classic.

Ok, because I saw so many people wondering in the reviews if this still smells like it did years ago, I think I can answer that question. I just smelled this a little while ago off my girlfriend's daughter. She said she purchased it from Walmart about a month ago. She said she paid less than $5 for a 1oz. bottle. Honestly, it smells no different to me now than when I smelled it 20 years ago, like a sweeter Chanel No. 22; heavy on the aldehydes, but not as powdery, and definitely warmer in feel. I don't know about performance, but when I complimented her on the scent, she said she was surprised as she had it on all day and could no longer smelI it. So, I guess that answered that question as I could. While I never wore this, one of my friends did as it was her signature scent, so I smelled it often enough to be able to tell the difference. I will say that I think the waxy aldehydes make it smell a little synthetic, but I thought of it that way years ago too, so I'm not the best judge of that. But it is a real pretty scent, and if you like No. 22, or heavy aldehyde fragrances in general, you might like this too.

I have very intense, ambiguous, subtle nostalgic glimmers in my mind when I wear this. I'm a millennial from the American South. I can feel scent memories pop up from growing up in the '90s . . . a faceless waitress with immaculately curled bangs at the barbecue restaurant, the older nurse at the doctor's office, a grandmother shopping at the toy store. I adore this feeling from a fragrance because it is not aspirational or distantly escapist, rather inwardly escapist to memories that are not even memories at all, but the softest etchings into the timeline of my life's experience. I'm not elevated, or transported, but kept wrapped into a humble internal space, and self-connected. ANYWAY, the initial whiff is purely hot, mushy Dial white bar soap that's been sitting in the soap dish too long. This lasts a while. Then, it softens and warms up a bit with some powder and peach. My glancing impressions of it are brightening and spicy and pleasant.

I bought this cheaply on e bay as Luca Turin liked it, and I tend to like most things that he recommends. Unfortunately the formula budget has been skimped on, and it has the slightly 'interior of hot 70's car' smell about it as many reformulations smell - ie; warm plastic. Opening notes are interesting, herbal/soapy and of no particular colour. Theres a waft of musk, a bit of cedar or pine and a nose tickling carnation. It is rather prim rather than sexy, but I always think a bottle needs a few wearings to really get a feeling for it. Over all, a bit ho hum, as I don't have any personal nostalgia connected with it (never available in England as far as I noticed) One thing I can tell already is that my husband won't like it!

A very pleasant scent: warm spicy peach, I want to sniff my wrist continually for hours when I wear this. I think it's one of the all-time very best "drugstore" perfumes, and outranks plenty of the expensive niche fragrances when comparing scent, longevity, etc. I love how it's bright and warm, but not pushy and seems to know when to step back. I think it's pleasant for any season but especially in fall and winter, maybe due to my initial thoughts of peach cobbler in the oven whenever I smell this.

I don’t see much discussion of this in the fragrance community, even among people who enjoy more classic fragrances - I wonder why? Lady Stetson is still very inexpensive and very easy to find, and has “aged” pretty well, in my opinion. The opening is VERY soapy and aldehydic, then it dries down to a light powdery musk on me (and retains a bit of that “clean soapy” quality). It’s not particularly strong on me, but I’m ok with that. Light enough to wear all year round.

I love love love this so much. It's a new favorite. My bottle is a new one that I got off of Amazon. This smells so happy and comforting to my nose that I keep spraying it even though I don't need to. My Nana said she used to wear this so that might have a part to play, too. It's a flowery sweetish musk and I love it so much. Good for any time of year I think, but especially fall and during the day.

Ohhh, the nostalgia! I used to wear this regularly when I was a young girl. I absolutely adored this fragrance! It is spicy, woodsy, and powdery. If I ever see it again, reasonably priced--I will pick up several bottles--giving one to my 19-year-old daughter. I think she would like this--a nice break from the gourmands, and fruity-florals of today.

Lady Stetson is a surprise scent. It has many personalities.For me I can smell the clean and soapy florals with a hint of spice and peach. This fragrance is warm and embracing. I am happy I got to pick up a small stocking stuffer size for$3 to experience this scent for myself. This is a scent that makes you feel feminine,loved,and pretty.

Sweet soapy sandalwood and senior English Lit class, prom carnations and packed bleacher musk. I wore this at seventeen, with pleated stonewashed jeans and my grandfather's Stetson Stratoliner à la Molly Ringwald. Three decades later and it still holds up, an affordable and cheerful Chanel knock-off with riper peaches at the end.

Lady Stetson is a lady through and through. It immediately strikes me as nice, elegant, and calming. It smells like something you'd wear for a Christmas family gathering... in the 90s. It's just got that vibe. As far as notes go, I detect a lot of lavender. Not too loud or in your face, but overall very classy and wearable.

At first I got aldehydes strongly, then a powerful ylang-ylang comes through. This is sweet and woody, the ylang-ylang continuing to shine through all the other notes. It is light and pleasant, feminine, a bargain buy too. I feel it is summer wear, for casual or informal occasions.

Just Lovely. I wore this classy scent to my great-grandmother’s 100th birthday party & received many compliments. I used most of the little bottle in one day. It’s great. It reminds me of a nice cable knit Sunday School teacher lady at a Cowboy Baptist Church. Proverbs 31:26.

Musky, lightly sweet powdery peach and rose. There are aldehydes, but they are tame compared to some other vintage scents. Everything is well balanced atop a spicy woody background. Lady Stetson is classy and sophisticated, and smells much more expensive than it is.

A very bright and cheery soapy floral. That's about it... Update: Where is the almost smoky tone coming from? It pops up right around the middle, after an hour or so of wear. I like it!

This reminds me a lot of Chanel no 5 but woodier. Sweet soapy and woody. It's very nice with decent longevity.

If you are into melon, pear, or aquatic scents this is not a fragrance for you!

I was gifted a bottle of this as a joke the xmas before I started at Florida's Stetson University many years ago. I didn't expect to like it because Lady Stetson's all-American, "Western Barbie" image was rather the antithesis of everything I aspired to in terms of style & aesthetics, and everything I was by nature. But to my surprise, I enjoyed it enough to use up the bottle and not mind when it was gifted to me again. I ended up wearing it regularly for a year or two, but never bought a bottle of it for myself. I remember it as mainly woodsy and powdery, sharp and dry with a mildly sweet floral background. I think I liked it at the time because it smelled more mature and sophisticated than the sweeter perfumes I'd grown up with, and seemed a good scent to wear for school, job interviews, and work. I've not smelled Chanel No. 22 so I don't know about all the comparisons to that fragrance, but I did think Lady Stetson smelled classy. Not sure how I would feel about this fragrance today; I like woody scents, but I might be more sensitive to those aldehydes now than I used to be, and I have no idea if it's ever been reformulated or not. But it doesn't really matter, because Lady Stetson will always feel far too "Western Barbie" for me to actually spend money on it. I'm -quite- sure of how I feel about that part!

Maybe this used to be a bit better. I picked it up because of the purported similarity to No 22. It's perfectly pleasant and it's a solid floral aldehydic, but I don't think it's as good as 22, although to be fair 22 is not that great, imo. I need to test it more, perhaps. And it's eminently affordable. I think the difference between this and a Chanel is in the aldehydes. I mean, of course the raw materials Chanel works with are a higher grade, but the aldehyde top notes of Lady Stetson are more abrasive in some way. They give less of an impression of levity and powder and kind of sting my nose a bit.

i can catch a whiff of this in my grandma's house eternally (along with wind song). this is the scent of childhood memories in forgotten houses to me. something that'll always send me back to sitting on the floor in front of the TV, watching cartoons, waiting for lunch to be finished cooking. even if it's not the sort of thing i'd ever choose to wear myself, it is eternally a memory of good to me.

I have the Coty version. It's ok but the projection and sillage is very soft and almost not there. On me immediately it becomes a light sweet powdery skin scent. It's not bleh but also not wow. Luckily i have a mini of 11ml. For me enough, i finish it today but will not purchase again.

Okay, when I read in The Perfume Guide that Tania Sanchez compared Lady Stetson to Chanel No.22, I had to check it out. A four star rating and a single dollar sign seemed like a no-brainer. My local chain drugstore just happened to be having a 50% off sale and Lady Stetson ended up being very cheap. It's been a very long time since I last smelled Chanel No.22 but if it turns out if it smells anything like Lady Stetson it won't be worth buying. Lady Stetson starts off harsh, harsh, harsh. Then it became so cloying, that it stuck itself in that spot deep in my throat that made me want to wretch. After the harsh blast, the notes bounced all over the place, at first I smelled some rose, some other flower, lots of soap and something a little watery and then it dried down (by the next day) into a tangy powder. This is a smell that needs a whole package to pull it off; like being a chain-smoking woman who frequents bars and nail salons, then you understand where it's going. When I get my hands on some No.22 I will do my own comparisons and then update this post.

I agree with another reviewer below. I used to use this when I was a teen in the 90s and I loved it. I recently was feeling nostalgic and bought a bottle. It smelled different for sure. Way too powdery. It's a shame. It was such a lovely light musky scent. I'd spray some into my fan before going to bed for the night so the perfume would waft around the room and lull me to sleep. At least I have those memories.

Dislike for me. I am not a fan of oakmoss or carnation so that's probably why. I do pick up on the vinyl/ plastic vibe. Not saying its a bad smell necessarily just definitely not me I can picture the type of lady who enjoys country line dancing or horse racing to wear this. This isn't girlie or frilly. Its spunky.

Wore this fragrance in the 80's....one day I went to school and had sprayed a little too much on (easy to do BTW)....It gave me such a sick headache....was never able to stand the smell of it after that incident.

The opening notes of Lady Stetson are warm, sweet, spicy. They are soft and feminine. Then they become sharp and intense then Lady Stetson simply fades away.

Migraine anyone? I can always tell someone is wearing this one because it induces a splitting headache, and it smells so cheap. One word: yuck!

This is one of the scents I always associate with my mom because she use to spritz everything with it. A little too heavy for me though.

I thought for the longest time that Chanel No. 22 could be the favorite perfume I've never smelled, just based on the reviews and notes. I've read that it's very similar to No. 5, a long time favorite of mine. My imagination thought that No. 22 would open with No. 5 aldehydes, and then transform into this heady, Fracas-esque white floral, but with a vanilla/vetiver base. No. 22 has long avoided me — while many years ago this was a staple at Chanel department store counters, it has long been discontinued from them, now only being available as an exclusive on the Les Exclusifs de Chanel line. This line is only available online or at select Chanel boutiques, and the only boutique near me only has them one DAY a year. Kind of ridiculous don't you think? I was not able to attend the day they sold the fragrances, so when I finally did make it, they only had a select few samples left. While the boutique saleswoman was looking through the drawer, I spotted it. A tiny little spray vial with "No 22" written in pen on the side. She gave me the vial and I finally got to smell this fragrance. The first fragrance I immediately think of? Lady Stetson. All this time, this fragrance has been sitting in the drugstore, calling for me. Whenever I sprayed it, I always thought that this couldn't be what No. 22 smells like, based on the comparisons I've read. However, it really comes close. Upon this discovery, I searched for a good deal online for Lady Stetson. I was very lucky and came across a reasonably priced set, which includes a small bottle of a "Precious Blend Perfume Spray", which I assume isn't being made anymore (does anyone remember when they last saw this being sold in the stores? I feel as if it has to be very recent.) My god, this perfume spray is to die for. It is much stronger than the current watered down cologne formula in stores, and it's much longer lasting. This opens up with heavy aldehydes, but definitely not Chanel No. 5 aldehydes. These are still very soapy, but lean towards an orange aroma. Almost immediately, you smell some intense woods blended with the aldehydes (which believe it or not linger slightly longer than usual). Surprisingly, this perfume isn't a sneezer for me (Most strong aldehydic perfumes tend to make me sneeze). This is a pretty basic perfume, pretty much all I get from it are the aldehydes and powdery woods. It was the same with No. 22, the only difference with No. 22 was some very VERY faint white flowers, but the woods definitely make the fragrance. This is very light but very intense at the same time. It seems that the current fragrance is more watered down than the cologne spray in my set. The aldehydes pack a bigger punch, and it's a bit more powdery. After smelling the current formula in stores a few times, this has definitely been reformulated, which is absolutely disgraceful considering how wonderful the fragrance in this set is. It's a shame the Precious Blend Perfume Spray isn't still being made. It is simply wonderful, and no doubt packs more of a punch than the current No. 22 formula I tested at the department store. I wish Coty would stop axing/ruining their best fragrances! This along with Emeraude, L'Aimant and a couple other classic Coty fragrances deserve stronger formulas and a wider range of availability besides just a cologne spray. This fragrance has definitely left it's impression on me, and if this were more widely available, I'd be wearing it often. I love discovering new classics, but my heart breaks when I find it's been heavily reformulated! Updated 12/2/17
