Puzzle

Oh how I loved this!! I will be 40 in June and I seem to be quite a nostalgic person. For my 15th birthday, I vividly remember a group of my friends crowding around me at lunchtime and handing me a card with a hastily wrapped gift. One of the girls said "sorry it was just a wee thing but we know you have a weird obsession with perfume!" It was Puzzle and I absolutely loved and appreciated it so much!! It was a 30ml bottle and by December of that year it was all used up!! The smell is peak 90s/early 00s Just so fresh, carefree. Makes me think of quiet summer days lying in the quiet forest or taking a walk along the grassy fields behind my old house. I'm usually a vanilla, sweet and creamy scented girl but this particular smell was always one of my favourites and I hope to have it again some day. Just lovely.

Wonderful smell! Thanks to the cypress, mint, and other herbs, this dish is very light, happy, and unique. Bergamot, Mandarin orange, bitter orange, basil, grapefruit, and red apple are the top notes; mint, cypress, and hibiscus are the middle notes; while musk, cedar, and amber are the base notes. The projection is strong, and this lasts for a very long time. This really appeals to me!

I had this long ago, I’ll be 40 next year, just like the person in the other comment. I just came here to say that it’s 2025 and that I just found another perfume that smells JUST LIKE PUZZLE: Green Tea Lavender Elizabeth Arden. I just purchased it and it really does smell like it. It’s been so many years but as soon as I smelled it my brain told me it was puzzle.

I used up a bottle of this within 3 months when I was 18. It was a blind buy because it was massively cheap but there were no regrets. It was strong herbal/citrus scent to start with, melting into soft powdery green middle with woodsy drydown. It had a presence and was long lasting. Even though I would not wear it now I would happily buy a small bottle for the memories.

As a teenager I thought of buying this, but eventually I never did. Now I wish I had. It's so fresh, joyful and original - due to the cypress, mint and other herbs. I guess I still have a scented advert torn out from a magazine somewhere:)
