Himalayan Blue

One of my favorite tea scents, great for hot weather, refreshing, but neither linear nor dull. Mostly about black tea, a strong tea note reenforced by champaca, which has a tea nuance, and a strong green petitgrain. Not green tea, but a black tea perfume that has strong green backing. Not sweet on me, and between the leather and the patchouli, it leans unisex. I don't find the ginger in this one as strong as the ginger in something like Caron's eau Reglisse. The ginger is noticeable, spicy, and gives a little kick, but tends to come and go, paired with the florals more than the tea. A lovely rosiness as well, the rose absolute and the petitgrain with the pink pepper. Spicy, smoky, a distinct lemon, not sour, not musky, on a woody, ambery base. A fairly tame patchouli note, not that strong, but it helps longevity and projection, as many Crabtree & Evelyn perfumes lack both. I do not have any of the bath products, so can not speak to them, but I can say I don't feel that I need them to achieve what I want from this perfume. It lasts about four hours in summer, maybe six, so good for work. Office friendly, wears fairly close. Well named, as it is a very quiet, soft and serene fragrance, meditative, yet a little exotic.

One of my more interesting recent finds. Unique, uplifting and serene. I love to wear this on a crisp, clear and sunny winter's day. It really does create an image of the Himalayas - wide blue skies, crisp cold air, sleepy mountain huts, people gathering to share tea, and vibrantly colourful prayer flags. The opening is very much about tea and citrus but it's a slightly smoky tea scent that has faint fruity sweet overtones. The flowers aren't very dominant but seem to linger as it settles down. The drydown is quite lush in contrast to the astringent top notes. I do like patchouli but, for those that don't, there's not too much of it here. This lasts very well on my skin and I'm glad to have this in my collection.

I love this scent. I find it best when used in conjunction with the lotion. When I first got it, it was a blind buy. I was thinking blue, I got what I characterize as a energetic temple blend. Like hanging out with those outgoing and dancing monks that have obviously succumbed to the high altitude low oxygen air, and maybe are a bit sleep deprived and over caffeinated. A good time to be sure, but there could be more flowers. I always tend to blend my perfumes, and this I always wear with flowers, not rose, gardenia, magnolia or any other heavy flower. More of a wildflower or flower bouquet scent. And I especially love it with dandelion scents. CB I Hate Perfume's and Demeter's. FANTASTIC!

There are some fragrances that catch your attention at first sniff...this is not one of them! The enchantment it spins takes its own sweet time but when it does, it doesn't take you by surprise. It evokes a peaceful zen like quality of calm and beauty. If a smell can be described as 'tranquil' then this would be it but far from being boring like other tea fragrances out there, this has hidden floral depths and a dash of sandalwood thrown in for added mystery. An elegant tea-rose-citrus fragrance, it is slowly becoming one of my top choices for day wear especially in hot weather. Falling more in love, bit by bit everyday :)

The fragrance is unique and plesant, the dominant notes are tea and citrus, and the other unknown which I guess it's yellow champaca.(I don't know how it smells) It also contains a hint of bitterness, but it's a lovely one that make all things balance. Wearing this makes me feel like standing on the misty cliff in the morning, with relaxing cool wind blowing, and warm tea cup in my hands. It's fresh and serene at the same time. The scent is not old-fashioned, yet not modern, it just take you to the place where time doesn't matter, and I love it. Also long lasting on my skin.
