Carmina

This is NOT what I was looking for in Cherry perfume, but my goodness! This smells pretty amazing to me. On first spray (I did 2 tiny sprays from a 1ml sample), I was taken by surprise by what I sensed as a Carnation scent, one of my favorite flower fragrances. When I came to check the scent notes, I got another surprise...this has Myrhh & Frankincense, 2 notes I dislike very much in most perfumes. I'm not anywhere near the drydown, so perhaps it will come through eventually. For me, I'm getting a nice blend of mostly florals (maybe a little cherry?) with light saffron, pepper & musk so far. I sprayed and walked away about 25-30 ft to do something else and could smell the fragrance coming from the direction of where I sprayed; beautiful trail! I tend to like Ambroxin, but it's not as apparent to me yet 30min in, and the light Cashmere Wood is more Cashmere than Wood to my nose. I don't really care for floral fragrances, but this would be a Floral I would definitely purchace. Will update after a few hours of wear. 3 hours in, it's fading a bit and the scent has not changed much, just slight musk noticeable now (thankfully I didn't detect the Myrhh & Frankincense). It's been pretty linear for me. If I purchase any Floral scents, this is at the top of my list so far. I have, and really like LPRN by Guerlain, but I don't consider that a real Floral or Cherry scent (idk how to catagorize it actually), so Carmina may be a 1st. 12 hours in: The faded scent is still lingering. I could not stop smelling my wrist all day and kept getting a whiff every time I moved my arms etc. I will sample again another day, then decide on full bottle purchase. 2nd trial, sprayed more than before and it is Potent! As I said, I'm not really a Floral scent person but this stills smells very different than most I've tried. I still get a Carnation scent, overall, more than anything (maybe that's the "Jammy" Rose, Peony etc?) but I still like it. Not really noticing the Cherry, which is what I'm more interested in though. This time, the next day (now), I am loving the Musky dry down a lot more than the heavy Floral the 1st day of wearing. It's still pretty potent! Alas, now that I've discovered and purchased Sirène by FDB, (which I replaced as my signature scent), You by Glossier & another 10mL decant of TF Lost cherry, I will wait on Carmina. I have full size Molecule 01 & Cherry Punk on way also. Besides, after using the 10mL Lost Cherry again after having finished a small bottle long ago, I'm going to break down, pay the $$ & buy another bottle lol. Wearing it again just reinforced WHY I loved it so much and picked it as my OG signature scent. 😍 🍒

So I actually disliked this very much when I 1st purchased it. So I put it in the back of my collection hiding my regret. At first test I got a dark, slightly bitter black cherry, a large dose of leathery saffron, sharp Ambroxan, and semi cheap Bulgarian rose water. So anyways EW ..I tucked it away. Well I was craving something different about 4-6 months later, decided to test it again. This time I got something so much more pleasing. This time I got a dark cherry, laying on a bed of cashmere wood, a fresh rose, a dose of leathery saffron but toned down and adds edge to this frag that levels the cherry specifically imo, and I also started to pick up the sweet pink peony adding a sweet airiness to it that I don't get on my 1st test, and this peony is so pretty and keeps the darker notes from going to dark, and the Ambroxan is still here but no where near as sharp as b4 but it does have a slight medicinal feel to it still via the saffron, Ambroxan and rose mix BUT it's so much better now, the cherry is still dark but less bitter and actually has a sweet fizzy texture imo, it's actually wearable now, and slightly unique, edgy, & pretty. Lots of ppl are claiming this generic and I don't get that. I've actually never smelt anything like this. I mean it does have similarities to other frags, but no where near "clone" levels imo. If I had to pick similar frags id guess PdM- Delina ex, mixed with Simone andreoli- vice bomb. But even with that....ahhh not exactly. So ya I like this now and wish it got more love. Maybe it just needs resting time ..b/c it def helped my bottle, also I want to point out this frag differs by season GREATLY! In the winter It does feel a little darker, heavier and woodier! While in the summer its more juicy, fizzy, light leather, with the sweet peony standing out more. But I like this and hope it sticks around for more ppl to experience it and hopefully appreciate it, as I have learned to do.

Carmina is a sexy, nocturnal, enticing fragrance: She is the woman found in a velvet lined corner at midnight, draped in dark silk and radiating an assured, dangerous confidence that makes the whole room gravitate towards her alone. The opening reminds me of cherry liquor; while it doesn't have that cheap alcohol scent, it carries the same depth. The top is slightly syrupy, but not in a negative way, it is very rich and sultry. I get whiffs of saffron: honeyed and warm, as well as pink pepper: very subtle but cuts through the cherry, making it feel less heavy. The heart is reminiscent of bathing in rose water under candlelight: also, the smell of sugared rose petals, maybe even a rose jam? You still get a tinge of black cherry, but it's much lighter, melding with the rose perfectly. The cashmere woods add depth, preventing it from becoming too cloy. The dry down is incredible and very luxurious: a light incense-like quality paired with a lovely, solar amber. Overall, this is a moody fragrance that is incredibly long lasting and perfect for a night-time formal event!!!! I wore it to a live production of "The Phantom of the Opera" and I swear it was perfect for the theme and atmosphere!

Fun fact: this perfume was made exclusively for legendary aviator Amelia Earhart in the early 1930s. Unfortunately, she had the only bottle on board her plane when it disappeared somewhere over the Pacific Ocean in 1937. Don’t ask for receipts, either, Creed cannot produce them at this time. Bespoke perfumery was totally different back then and nothing like today’s industry. Oh, almost forgot, the nose behind this perfume is the legendary Olivier Creed, sixth generation master perfumer. Don’t forget about Erwin Creed, either, he helped get the ingredients! Only the absolute finest black cherries can be found on the dark side of the moon. Erwin spent most of the pandemic up there sourcing these exquisite varieties exclusively for this perfume. After he returned from the dark side of the moon, Erwin jumped into his time machine—not a hot tub, I assure you—and he ripped off, I mean sourced, the finest myrrh and frankincense directly from baby Jesus’ crib in Bethlehem. Come to think of it, I think he ripped off the gold, too...? Anyway, buy this one. Erwin needs the money for more rocket fuel so we can make more of this stuff.

Such a pretty smell -- I douse my coat in it every visit to Von Maur, like today; but have yet to pull the trigger and purchase a FB. I have so many fragrances, and I'm not a millionaire. It's a special treat when I go shopping on the weekends. This doesn't mean I never will, I'll just wait for it's popularity to die down a bit. In the opening of Carmina I get a lot of what feels like Bulgarian rose (but notes here say may rose? I guess I can't tell the difference between the two) and something that feels dark and leathery (saffron?). The cherry is not maraschino or liquor-y like I'm used to, just a bit sweet and fruity. Almost plummy. As it develops I get the powdery violet undertones and resins in light musk. The rose stays the entirety of the fragrance. Carmina can be described as an incensy, leathery amber rose with light fruitiness. Highly unique and very beautiful. Almost formal and regal. The epitome of class and old money. A cherry fragrance for those who wish to be taken seriously.

Sofia Carmina Coppola, that’s who I think about when I wear this. Such an iconic woman. This perfume totally defines her. I get mysterious but sweet vibes from this perfume. Burnt cherry & BABY lotion. But in a very sensual way. Like those women who are constantly reapplying lotion on their hands, a mini Johnson’s PINK bottle baby lotion. She looks like the type. Super casual, usually in jeans and ballet flats, very classy. It’s a chilled glass of SOFIA Brut Rosé with lavender macarons & a small vase of fresh peony’s and RED roses, next to an ashtray with a put out cigarette. It settles to baby lotion, Sofia’s Brut Rosé and milky cashmere that I absolutely LOVE. Definitely not for the faint of heart. One spray is more than enough for me, lasts all day. Performs spectacular in cold weather. It's sexy, bold yet sweet. I wear this on date nights layered with CARAMEL.. Mind blowing. I know I always say this but TRUST ME. I'm sure she would love it too. BISOUS

I have tested this 3 times in store and each time I have enjoyed it more and more. The first time I tried it I was put off by the strong opening but fell in love with the mid and dry down. The next couple of times of testing I didn't mind the opening at all. It became a love from the initial spray! The jammy rose🌹 and black cherry 🍒 are the stars of this fragrance, which are 2 of my favourite notes. It's a strong scent so you need to go easy on the sprays. It's sweet but not cloying, and more suited to autumn and winter in my opinion. It's definitely attention grabbing and if you prefer light, clean and airy fragrances then this is not for you! For me this perfume is divine and soooooo addictive. It costs a bit more than I would like to spend but I have nothing quite like it in my collection so am going to treat myself to a full bottle next payday. I'm looking forward to wearing it and feeling classy and expensive!! 🔥👸 ❤️ 💖 ❣️

It's a syrupy rose, peony and cherry tossed into a soup of ambroxan, myrrh and frankincense. It quite literally smells like it. I can see why people may not like this scent because of it. It smells super sweet and synthetic in the beginning, but as soon as the dry down hits you'll get a well blended incense-y rose and cherry perfume. I personally only buy perfumes for their dry down because that's what I'm basically left with for several hours. The beginning could smell like rats anus, I don't care, as long as the dry down is divine. Give it time. A lot of really good iconic perfumes have a terrible start, but fantastic dry down. And vice versa. A lot of bad perfumes have a great start but then end up smelling like body odour, pee or sweat as there was too much effort invested into the first 10min. I think that Carmina is a good perfume. I don't love it, but I do like it.

A radiant yet sensuous fragrance that is perfect for Diwali and the wedding season (especially for brides-to-be) is the new Creed Carmina - a beautiful combination of saffron, black cherry & rose. It opens with a crisp, fresh rose with a hint of saffron and pink pepper, very playful and a bit of a tease. While on paper I can smell a sexy cherry note, it doesn’t manifest on my skin unfortunately. Once it settles down a bit, it gets woodier and muskier and even more sensuous. The play of the rose & saffron with the woody and musky notes is absolutely beautiful. This would truly be the perfect wedding day fragrance for a bride. The sillage of Carmina is amazing and it leaves a beautiful trail as you pass by. The longevity is very good too - close to 7 hours! In fact, my husband can still smell this on me after 10 hours but by then it’s more of a skin scent.

I had never smelled any Creed fragrances before other than Aventus, but I saw this on the female lead’s vanity in the k-drama Dear X and I was so struck by the look of the bottle I had to look it up. I was surprised to see that rose and black cherry were both notes in this scent as both are my favorite notes. Then a weeks long saga of trying to find this in a store to smell ensued. All it took was one spray on my skin for me to buy a bottle. At first it was extremely rose heavy, which I loved, and then it dried down to the most beautiful rosy cherry. On me, it pulls a tad sweet, but there’s still some darkness in it thanks to the myrrh and black cherry. The scent is very strong and can be smelled from a few feet away. It lasts super long. My only regret was buying the 1 oz bottle instead of the larger size.

Let me start by saying to date I never liked any of the creed fragrances for women. However when I sniffed Carmina I instantly felt in love with this perfume. I got fruity cherry vibes with a mix of rose. The cherry is almost like the chapstick cherry so not too dark or dull it is more fruity and airy. There is a hint of musk in the background but its light for me. If I could describe it as a food it would be like a Turkish delight cherry edition with a faint hint of parma violet somewhere. It's just so different to anything I have in my collection. It's beast mode, do not overspray. Will last all day with strong projection for at least a good 5 hours for me. I love it but would not recommend blind buying as some people may not appreciate it the same way as me. Creed broke me this time with this.

When I first tried Carmina, I kept smelling it up close on my skin and thought it was too powdery rose and mature for me. Then continued to test a bunch of different frags on my skin and didn't really give it a chance. The next day I gave it a full-wear and fell in love!! The magic of Carmina is in the air - the sillage of black cherry, rose, violet and touch of saffron creates this airy dance that's so alluring. I know some Creed lovers dont like the new direction for the womens frags, but this is my favourite one. To me, it's the perfect balance between modern dnas (cherry/saffron) and classic dnas (powdery rose/violet), with a warm spicy base. Lasts 10+ hours on me. I left the house and returned an hour later to the most beautiful scent, simply magical and leaves an impression, for sure .

this to me wasnt love at first sniff. sprayed it on my wrist and got a big whiff of herbs and spices (i dont know why i got dried peppers and onion 😭) i was in a car when i first sprayed it though, and after leaving the car and letting the scent build it was like a huge awed "oh my god" moment. this smells like the most seductive rose, its so appealing to the nose. not loud to me at all which can happen with some cherry fragrance. its suave and appealing; i love it. i no longer get that opening, so i dont know what that was about, and find it smells like cherries as soon as i spray it. not cough medicine cherry but like overtly ripe cherries??? its a good smell to my nose. after that its a dark rose. love love love this scent.

I don’t get the hate around Carmina.. It is one of the best fragrances that i’ve ever had. I can not say it is soooo unique or different than most of the perfumes but it is something that i am obssesed with. Even though i am a cherry fragrance lover i DEFINETELY do not get the cough syrup smell with Carmina at all, especially compared to other cherry fragrances. To me it is a feminen, elegant perfume which starts off really strong then becomes powdery and floral which is so fresh but sweet at the same time. The only thing that could be better about this perfume is i wish the smell at the first would stay longer. Besides that it is so feminene, pure and blissful fragrance.

I left a review a little bit ago and I feel it does not quite show what a true treasure this perfume is. Sometimes I will just go in my closet and smell it just to make myself feel a little better. If I were to describe it the best way I could is if romance was a perfume. If you ever feel yourself getting lonely and you don't have a partner and want one or you are missing someone you love very much just take a whiff and you'll probably feel way better ( or find yourself a new relationship) and like a comment said a little lower trust me you should wear this on your next date!!!

I tried a decant of this and I have decided that I will be purchasing a full bottle! The first spray on the skin is absolutely wonderful. The scent opens up with cherry but it’s not a juvenile cherry, it’s the type of cherry which you receive with an expensive cocktail. As time goes on and it warms up on the skin, the rose and peony shine through. I can see myself wearing this as a day and night fragrance and it’s perfect for all seasons. The price is hard to swallow but if I can purchase it abroad for cheaper or find it during a sale then my wallet will definitely be happier

I have wanted this perfume forever and I finally splurged and got it as a birthday gift, and it’s the best purchase I’ve made that year 😩 it doesn’t smell like cherry on me, instead the saffron, rose and myrrh is accentuated and it’s so long lasting I could shower and still have the perfume on me the next day! It’s such a sophisticated and luxurious fragrance I’ve never seen before and quite honestly the only high end perfume that’s worth it in my opinion. I’m now salvaging every milliliter of it for as long as I can as a broke uni student🫠

I was gifted this recently. I hadn't smelt it beforehand, so it was a huge risk for the person who bought it for me (thankfully I love it). I would describe it as a sophisticated femme fatale perfume. It's sultry, glamorous and gives off dark feminine energy. I can actually imagine this is what Jessica Rabbit would smell like. I am not normally a huge fan of cherry in perfumes, but it's perfectly balanced here - it adds depth without overpowering the fragrance. A great one for date night me thinks.

Just got this for my girl, she isn't a frag head, but I'm trying to put her on. Hahahaha She smelled this in Saks 5th ave and really liked it. I am a little worried because this on a test spray was somewhat strong and she is a massive oversprayer. And I mean massive. I got her the yellow Gucci (name escapes me) a couple weeks ago and it's more than a quarter gone. She went through a 100ml My Burberry Blush in less than 6 months. Etc. LMFAO

I tried this in a department store today. The opening was very unpleasant to my nose. I'm not sure if it was the saffron or pink pepper. But an hour later this is absolutely beautiful!! I can still pick up on the cherry but the harsh spicy note from the saffron or pink pepper has disappeared. The rose, violet and peony blend perfectly with the soft woody note. I'm not sure if I'd buy a bottle though as I strongly dislike the opening....🤔

I'm so confused right now. I'm a man, hence not the target audience for this fragrance, and yet I'm obsessed with Carmina. It's sweet, light, and floral with a woody, musky base to it. So beautiful, elegant, crispy fresh, and just plain amazing, I can't stop sniffing myself, and I can see myself rocking this in late Spring/early Summer. I'm willing to sell one of my kidneys just to get a full bottle of it, I don't care! 😆

Smells like the rich mysterious wine aunt to Delina's children. Her favourite song is Fiona Apple's 'Criminal' and she spends all of her money on gaudy expensive vintage home decor that nobody else wants. I got a free sample of this and I love, love, love it. I do still think it's outrageously overpriced, but maybe when I'm someone's rich mysterious wine aunt I'll buy myself a full bottle. Second-hand, that is.

Today my husband and I went perfume shopping. He bought a bottle of Carmina. As most niche perfumes nowadays are unisex, we were surprised this scent was labeled as a women’s perfume. This is definitely unisex! It has a pricetag, yes, but I think everybody, girl or guy, deserves a tall, dark and handsome husband smelling like roses, saffron and cashmere wood.

imo a beautiful rose. reminds me a bit of Dyptique l'Eau Rose, but more tart, slightly powdery, and with a hint of vintage lipstick which makes it less innocent and more playful. someone else mentioned it smells "jammy", I think that's captures it well. the resins are subtle but ground it well. plus I'm always a sucker for the musk-rose combo

This is my favorite of all the Creed fragrances, finally something sweet and seductive from creed, I love it. Lasts all day. Leaves a scent trail. Smells like chocolate covered cherries on me with roses and musk in the background. Blended beautifully. I’m so happy to have it in my collection. I feel like you could use this fragrance anytime.

I chose this perfume as my wedding guest scent for my bestie's winter wedding. This is one the most forth coming, long lasting cherry perfume I tested. The cherry comes out 30 minutes, definitely after the top notes fates a bit, and lasts about 2-4 hours on my skin. A wonderful mix of cherry and rose combine with an ambery undertone.

This is quite unisex in my opinion and criminally underrated. Also has very good performance on me. My favorite cherry fragrance on the market; I find most others to be either extremely boring and/or way too cloyingly sweet. The only thing that I dislike about it is the size of the bottle as all my other Creed fragrances are 100ml...

This deadass smells like Morticia from the Addams Family. It's so Gothic, Vampire like. It's absolutely stunning love it. my birthday is in Spooktober, il either buy this or Portrait of a Lady. With the idea of rocking one of them forever and repurchase it every time it runs out.

I'm here literally because of Zhang Jiahao, gone berserk and bought this straight away. This is no ordinary rosey. It's darker than common red rose thanks to cherry and amber. Slightly smokey and mysterious by a kick of spice and ambroxan. beautiful dark matter, really

I don’t do rose forward perfumes and I adore this. Similar to the composition structure of love in black the rose is seated on a tart note of cherry/black currant perhaps even raspberry. It’s a modern take. Fresh, sweet and tart. Exudes fine taste.

I enjoy this smell very much! It's warm and fruity and sweet at the same time! It lasts pretty long on me, and I can feel it while moving around, but not too intrusive. Reminds me of other cherry perfumes. Smells pleasant and expensive.

Like a mix of rose candy and Dr. Pepper or any cherry-flavored soda. But make it elegant and very feminine. One of the best Creed fragrances I have tried - it smells modern, has different layers but it is still likeable enough. GORGEOUS

I really like the fragrance, I love a Rose perfume though. However I couldn’t smell it on myself about about 30 mins / an hour. I got a 10ml in my advent however I wouldn’t purchase a larger bottle due to the longevity vs the price.

glorious, effervescent, heavenly, perfectly balanced tart juicy cherry rose vanilla jam. A masterpiece. And it lasts forever. A favourite I’m happy to gatekeep, so haters: please continue to write negative reviews. She’s mine xx

Musk and cherry rose prominent. Nice but not sure it's worth a full bottle. Opening much more muskier and the musk softens as the scent develop. Flora balances the scent rather well

Idk why this is getting hate, I love this! I get compliments with this too. The dry down is everything just wait for it to blend with your skin this lasts and projects too.

As a man this is simply incredible. Don’t see it hyped enough. It may be super feminine but the cherry and rose is so good. Top 3 creed for me.

Normally I don't like cherry perfume but this one surprised me. Not overly sweet and very light cherry note that I like. Very long lasting.

I just tried this one and omg 😳 on my wishlist. It doesn’t smell anything like lost cherry just in case people start comparing them.

Carmina is : feminine, classy, chic and seductive. If I only have one cherry perfume in my fragrance wardrobe, this would be it.

I love this, however I get more of a cranberry note, rather than a sour cherry, which I don’t mind... I’m just saying.

Gosh, the black cherry! It was such a pleasant top note to smell instantly as soon as you spray, what an opening! It really gives you a great intro to what the fragrance has to offer, because I was pleasantly surprised that even after all the hurrah of the initial spray, I could still smell the scrumptious scent of the black cherry even after the first 3 hours! The pink pepper and the saffron might have been too strong for my personal taste, so I was glad that they died down after a while. The florals allowed the black cherry to be the star of the show even though there were several floral notes listed as the heart of the fragrance. I could really feel the cashmere wood giving me a warm hug in this scent. Once all of those faded, the base notes really give me a more serious vibe, like I would wear this if I ever plan to visit a cathedral in Europe. I see a woman who has her life all together and knows when to have fun and when to get serious. She would spray this before she leaves for work in the morning and it would still be able to carry her until she goes out for dinner with her friends at a restaurant or a bar. She's not wild, but knows how to have an excellent night out. Its scent overall gives you an interesting balance of fun, interesting, sexy, and serious at the same time. Longevity-wise, on skin it lasted me 6-8 hours on a non-humid day. Its sillage is pretty moderate, definitely not intimate. I don't think it's strong enough to leave an actual trail in the places you passed by, but its projection is pretty good. Just be careful of how much you spray on yourself as a little goes a long way. This scent might get heads turning towards your direction as soon as you walk into the room, but you don't want people to look at you for the wrong reasons, so be cautious. For the price though, I don't think this polarising perfume is something I would be willing to splurge for. It's a lovely option for a cherry-based scent, but because it's a bottle I wouldn't be grabbing as often as I want to unless I was opting to make a very specific statement, I wouldn't be too keen on spending that much for a full bottle of it. A sample would be more than enough for me.
