Millesime 1849 Eau de Parfum

This was a blind buy for me & never having smelled the original I was rolling the dice big time at nearly $400 per bottle. Thankfully it was love at first sniff. I think this is worth every cent of what it's selling for. I absolutely love it! I don't see a woman pulling this off. It's a very masculine scent that starts off with a bit of warm citrus spicey oud. So hard to describe but one I don't regret buying. I don't get the resemblance to royal oud as others have stated. Longevity is incredible with above average sillage & performance. I understand fragrance is subjective at best but anyone who says this is "a old man's nursing home" needs to go back to collecting baseball cards &/or get their noses checked because this stuff is heaven in a bottle! Of course it goes without saying that it's not going to be for everyone but this checks off all the boxes for me. Non-linear, excellent performance, above average sillage & longevity, unique composition, intriguing etc but please, sample before you buy but definitely get your snot locker on this bad boy asap!

Blind bought based off reviews I had seen. Very dangerous. However, upon smelling the cool down I was pleasantly relieved. When I first sprayed it I definitely was upset because of the stinky old-man’s house note. But again, after an hour and for the following eight hours it was a divine old-money accord like sitting at a tennis match on a cool spring day. Would have like to try it before I bought it but then I would've never known about the cool down. Not for anyone between the age of 12-22, and between 22-30 you better be wise beyond your years and dress to wear this well.

Well this ain't for everyone... But... It's definitely for me. I love it, I agree it's very very vintage but it gives me a less sweet, less fruity version of my long discontinued D&G red. The soapy citrus and the yellow floral dry down is beautiful. I personally could never see a man wearing this, hence why I've ended up with my husbands harrods cast offs 😜😜 happy calendar day to me

Ignore the low rating, it happens all the time here. Go try it yourself. 😅 It has prominent vintage vibe as its name suggests. After a while, it gets a bit more modern, only a bit. Its powdery floral with green spice and incense. The best part for me is from the middle to dry down. Kind of unique leaning masculine. The more I spend time with it, the more I love it.

As someone who isn’t a huge fan of powdery fragrances, I wasn’t expecting to like this so much, but I love it! Old school soapy/talc opening, drying down to a woody, slightly sweet, powdery floral. It just smells gorgeous.

The first waft immediately reminded me of Chanel No. 5. It's "vintage" in that powdery rose/floral sort of way, with hints of green earthy spiciness and incense running underneath to tickle the nose and give some depth. Similar to Royal Oud, this has a very lovely slightly-sweet dry down. It is underwhelming when one considers the Chanel has basically the same presence for 1/4 the price... I much prefer Royal Oud or Bois du Portugal, even Viking, which are just as beautiful (if not more). Unless bespoke sport coats and Italian loafers constitute your casual wardrobe (which is a wonderful thing don't get me wrong), to someone who isn't a fragrance enthusiast this'd come off like you stole your grandmothers bottle of perfume lol; you run the risk of the scent "wearing you." As a collector, I'll likely be keeping my bottle. If I otherwise didn't have a certain patience about developing a relationship with fragrances though, and just saw them as tools to get attention, I'd probably've already printed the return label. But, ya know what? Given the landscapes been carpet bombed by ambroxan, who really cares what anyone thinks - wear what resonates with you!

It is definitely an aromatic- strong on the citruses and ylang-ylang scent. My issue is my brain associated this with both spa and things you put in the closet so your clothes don’t get eaten by moths. It has a bitter-green-slightly incense, powdery profile. Not a bad one but not full bottle worthy for me.

this is quite overhated by the masses on social media, it’s not mass appealing but if you understand the brand, the vision and demographic then you can appreciate it, especially when it’s well made/blended, still i’d give this around 3/5 only because i’m not their demographic.

For some reason my nose detects this a more winter and floral version of Bois Du Portugal. I prefer BDP but I enjoy this. Hard to find the right occasion to wear. I bought at Harrods because of the colors of bottle... not my best financial decision

It’s not a very unique fragrance, it feels like a typical citrus scent with just a small twist. It’s not bad at all and smells pleasant, but it doesn’t really stand out or feel special.

So disappointed in this. Thinking Creed just doesn’t work for me and my mister. Love all the listed notes but there’s something in here that just smells bad to my nose. I’m getting a whack of cistus here, and got a whack of tonka from VIW. Giving up on this house.

Clearly smells vintage. Don’t know what vintage is? Grab your grandmas perfume (Chanel No. 5) and spray it. You’ll immediately know what it is. This is a vintage powdery scent. 1849 is right. Not for me. 4/10

Good grief this stuff is not for me. I received it in the Harrods advent 2025 and not gonna lie I feel violated in the nostrils. Its a very masculine fragrance and reminds me of my dad in the 80's when he used to soak in the bath using Badedas bubble bath. It was pungent stuff and this defo gives me those herbally vibes. This one is not for me and I will defo be selling it on

I’m a Creed fan and I’ve smelled this one at their boutique. It was putrid. I understand scents are personal, and people perceive perfumes quite differently. However, for me this one smells like something one would wear after living for 250 years - and no one lives for that long, which is a blessing because we don’t have to smell it on people.

I have the 2023 version. On me it smells floral - jasmine, somewhat powdery, slightly musky with a woodsy base. I don’t get any incense. There’s something green about it too... maybe the thyme? The citrus notes dissipate fast. You can smell a bit of the Royal Oud DNA - but it’s largely masked by the florals which, to my nose, smell jasmine, slightly rose & banana-ish. IMO, it seems like it’s probably the same as the 2013 version. I’m real iffy on this one. It’s complex and changes a lot during wear. Sometimes I feel it smells too feminine, but other times I get a lot more of the powdery wood notes I don’t regret buying it. It’s unique and the price isn’t bad for a 100 ml of Creed. Harrods also sometimes offers discounts or free international shipping. The bottle is a beautiful matte green with a gold metal cap. The longevity is good. It’s not a beast but it lasts several hours. I’d probably wear this in Spring or Summer. In summary, imagine A floral jasmine flanker of Green Irish Tweed (minus the Ambergris) with a hair of Royal Oud

This dries down to be a stinky floral version of Royal Oud, in the best possible way. It’s like if a dandy in London in 1849 tried Royal Oud but thought it was a little too modern and too obviously masculine to the point of it potentially being banal, so they had a local perfumer modify it to make it more vintage and dandified. I get yellow florals not dissimilar to Chanel 31 Rue Cambon, a sandalwood like Bois des Iles, and the signature Creed ambergris and Royal Oud dna. The stink is coming from whatever they used to make Erolfa stinky - not sure if it’s white florals or something else, but it’s there and it’s integral to the personality. Something great about this Credd is that I never go noseblind to it. Creeds are famous for that - at least on my skin - but this one become a royal vintage bubble around you. If you don’t immediately take to this release, sample some Chanel Les Exclusifs and some old Creeds and then return to this one. You may have a greater appreciation for what this is

@rybkinrolla First of all thanks for the insult, really appreciated, second of all you're still getting this completely wrong, AGAIN: I said the notes are "almost" Identical to Mefisto, 1- I didn't say it smells like Mefisto. 2- nor did I say it could smell similar to SMW for that matter. I just merely pointed out the fact of the notes similarity. And If you know that having similar notes doesn't always mean having a similar smell -something which I wholeheartedly agree with by the way- why on earth are you rambling about copies and clones in the first place when I didn't even mention any of that in my initial post ???!!!!! Oh, and I don't write looking for responses, this isn't Facebook, I only write expressing my opinions, which for some odd reason you're finding a really difficult time READING and COMPREHENDING...!!!

Just received this release and immediately upon first spray it reminds me of the type of fragrance you would smell your grandmother or grandfather would have worn . This is a very “dated” type of scent , I let my teenage son smell it and asked him what he thought and he said it’s smells like a nursing home !! 😂 so for this to be a new release even though it’s a re launch I would say It was a waste of time for Creed to re release something that smells like it was made in 1849 considering this is 2023, 😝 My overall opinion is even though I can recognize the notes and appreciate the perfumery behind it , this frag is not going to do well in the market except for a slim few if I had to guess . Cmon creed !! Aventus Absolu was a def success but this ??!!!!! Pass.

Apparently this is a relaunch, and it's exclusive to Harrods. I smelled it today, and I'm not sure if most of you will like it. It leans old school, and has a mature vibe. It goes hand in hand with their other offering, Viking, which I also find old school smelling. It reminded me of something I smelled before, I think at Hermès, but can't remember which one. I didn't even bother to spray it on my skin as it's really not my thing. If you enjoy other Creed's offerings like Tabarome, Bois du Portugal and Viking then give it a try!

The opening leans unisex, with a slight tilt toward the feminine. It reminds me of CC #1, though this one is less powdery and soapy. It begins with a combo of citrus and floral notes, and as it develops, the powderiness from the iris starts to come through. In the final dry-down, it becomes a pleasant skin scent that feels subtle and comforting. Over time, it takes on a more masculine character with the presence of woods, herbs, and a touch of smokiness.
