Wild Vetiver

You all have to be a bit out of your mind to crucify this fragrance by calling it a Delina dupe or a low-effort release from Creed. This is probably Creed’s best release in recent years alongside Oud Zarian. Wild Vetiver is superior to Carmina, Queen of Silk, Centaurus, Delphinus, and several others from the recent lineup, in my opinion. Some people seem disconnected from where the fragrance market has been heading lately. Creed’s move with Wild Vetiver after Oud Zarian is obvious and agreeable with the current trends. Aside from the oud and gourmand trends, the market right now is heavily leaning toward spicy citrus freshies, fruity florals, woody-amberwoods, and musky compositions within a fragrance; Basically Ala Blue Talisman, Bal d’Afrique, Guidance, Delina (since people are so insistent on comparing it, goddammit), and the endless wave of Arab dupes releases with dumb royal names slapped on them. So Creed just gave us that, executed wonderfully! Wild Vetiver is a beautiful spicy-citrusy, fruity fresh fragrance built around a dewy, elegant, classy rose and geranium, resting on a woody base with a soft vetiver running through the composition. The vetiver here is smooth and refined, adding a subtle green edge and masculine touch throughout the fragrance. Everything working in harmony here. The blending is excellent, the quality is obvious, and the performance is quite decent for a fresh fragrance. Personally, I would describe it as a mix, but with a more floral take, on Greenly+ Blue Talisman, minus the apple and pear aspects; now it is its own thing though. The vetiver is absolutely noticeable here. The issue is that people expect a loud, rooty, earthy vetiver, when Creed clearly chose to use it differently. Here, the vetiver adds texture, elegance, smooth masculinity (it ́s what makes this fragrance fully unisex instead of a full feminine), and a slightly edgy freshness. It is as light and smooth as a fresh-cut pasture inside a labyrinth garden chateau. Even the bottle design and color palette communicate exactly what the fragrance is about: soft, airy, elegant, and restrained. I honestly don’t understand how someone looks at this bottle and expects something loud, rugged, earthy. Creed already offers Original Vetiver for that. Maybe the name “Wild Vetiver” is slightly misleading, but personally, when I see the word “Wild” combined with that soft aesthetic and bottle design, I imagine something more ethereal, almost like “The Birth of Venus” painting translated into fragrance form. Wild Vetiver reminds me of that painting. Anyways! I have like three samples gifted at the store, enough to conclude that it's worthy of a full bottle, but of course, at discounters. I will wait patiently for now. Also don't pay much attention to these "influencers" with thousands of fragrances in their shelves. It seems to me that either they have too much fragrances that their noses go wack as hell or don't have the time and patience to sit down with a single fragrance for weeks, months and so on, to appreciate it.

Before trying Wild Vetiver, I had read some reviews and since it was compared to many different fragrances—like Delina, L'Homme à la Rose, Perseus, Eldaria, etc.—I was expecting an unoriginal scent. Honestly, my expectations weren't very high. On the other hand, as someone addicted to rose fragrances, I was curious to see how the rose note was handled. The perfume far exceeded my expectations, especially that freshness in the opening. It opens cool and fresh; while the scents themselves aren't identical, it reminded me of the freshness found in Creed's 90s releases, like Silver Mountain Water or Millésime Impérial. The rose is crafted in a very watery, dewy way. Although I can see similarities with some of the perfumes it’s compared to, it definitely carves out its own path. Since I’ve recently viewed Creed’s latest releases as more commercial and detached from the brand's heritage, I didn't expect much from this one either. However, this feels exactly like the true Creed DNA. After testing it and waiting a couple of hours, I went ahead and bought a full bottle. I will share more detailed thoughts as I wear it more. A Spring and Summer Vetiver Gem: This is one you truly have to smell for yourself, it varies A LOT, skin to skin, nose to nose. I had heard a crazy amount of differing opinions ranging from "very fruity vetiver goodness" to "is 100% Delina"—I was worried that I'd heard/read so many Delina comments, it'd strongly bias my olfactive perspective... it absolutely was not the case for me, thankfully. This is my fave frag I've tried this year, and everything I hoped it'd be, in regards to its namesake. I got the fruity rose described by Fragrantica writers, but it was very subtle. I found it odd they say it had no vetiver scent, but describe facets of vetiver throughout their description of how the scent develops. For me, the vetiver shines throughout. My take: First, crisp, fresh, slightly tart, vegetal, alongside nearly green bergamot, with compliments by lively, subtly floral pepper. As the top fades, slightly nutty damp earth emerges, and shines alongside a green-ish blackcurrant fruity edge, as delicate rose and soft-but-complex geranium sneak in every once in awhile. It eventually settles into the dry-wood, extremely soft/very subtly smokey leather Haitian vetiver tends to have at the base of its complex profile, and allows the comforting, clean, lightly spiced aroma of cedar to gleam. I am anosmic to most "amber" molecules/accords, and this was no exception, so can't comment on "amberwood" here. Each non-vetiver note seems to perfectly bring out facets of the vetiver in each stage of its development, not replace it. After a few sporadic days of wearing Wild Vetiver, I remembered I had pure Haitian vetiver essential oil, and decided to put a little on paper, then Wild Vetiver on another—see if it changed my perspective on Wild Vetiver. It did not. My nose absolutely picks up vetiver from top to drydown in this frag. Maybe I'm sensitive to it, but Id be willing to bet that many folks saying they get no vetiver: A: Are sensitive to rose/other notes B: don’t actually know what vetiver by itself smells like to them/how complex it is, all in itself. All that said, you might very well get Delina from it, maybe something else, but don't let reviews make you timid—might end up being everything you want in a vetiver-frag.

EN Wild Vetiver is one of those fragrances that wins you over from the very first breath. What impresses me most is its sense of restraint. It is fresh, green, and elegant, yet it never slips into cheap simplicity or an overly sporty style. It has a polished radiance, a cleanliness, and a refinement that make it feel as though every detail was conceived exactly as it should be. It immediately gives an impression of natural ease, though without the slightest effort. It feels like the fragrance of a self-assured person, but without any showiness. It has that airy freshness, yet not the empty and faceless kind that is now so common in fashionable new releases. Here, you can feel texture, style, and a quiet sophistication that makes it noticeably more interesting than many other fragrances in a similar vein. It is clear, green, and elegant, yet it has enough character to avoid ever sounding banal. Quello che colpisce di più è il suo senso della misura. È fresco, verde, elegante, ma senza mai scendere né nella semplicità dozzinale né in uno stile troppo sportivo. Ha una luminosità levigata, una pulizia e una raffinatezza che fanno pensare a qualcosa concepito esattamente come doveva essere. Of the cassis-rose fragrances, I do believe that this one might be my favorite and my go-to. Wild Vetiver was never on my radar despite loving roses. I don’t think I glanced it more than once and might’ve missed that it was a rose. But one day while I was walking around a department store, WV had just dropped and the creed section was filled with plastic grass and pink pepper and...to my surprise, pink roses. Curious, I had to check it out and was surprised that the agents were marketing it as a rose fragrance. Upon the first spray, I could immediately tell that there was timur berries in it. I actually said out loud “oh, timur berries,” just because I’ve made a couple of drinks with timur cordial. That in itself piqued my interest enough to put it on my list of fragrances but as I wore it, the floral character developed. It lead to a cassis-rose further acidified with Vetiver but also sweetened by the timur berries. I bought a bottle that week and have finally worn it out for the day. I’m not a fan of cassis and rose together though there had been exemptions (Cœur Fou, for example), but the accompanying notes restricted the screechiness I couldn’t stand, creating a delightfully tart and sweet fruity rose I wish I could sink my teeth into. The first three hours, the projection was impressive and ever-present. The next four hours were characterized by a tenaciously linear scent bubble that accompanied my movement. Now, with it settling further into my skin, the woody dryness and the clean musks are starting to soften the fragrance. Someone had asked me what I was wearing since it smelled so pretty. I’m proud to say that this fragrance will be in constant rotation for the summer!! This is my Summer Rose for sure!

I really like this fragrance a lot, it's fresh, bright, and feels like walking through a garden of dewy rose and bergamot trees. It's very much a scent for warmer weather, and it feels fresh and revitalizing even when it's quite hot out. I first tried it in store knowing nothing about it, and was immediately enamored with it. My first impression was that it was rather masculine, but that was before I was able to identify the primary note as rose, which has changed my impression of the scent more towards being unisex or slightly feminine, though personally I think that says more about my own bias than anything given my blind first impression was more masculine. The rose note is definitely at the forefront of the scent throughout it's lifetime on skin, but it's not an overly feminine rose, it reads as fairly unisex to me overall. After leaving the store, I read some reviews on here and saw mention of the deep dry down being an ambroxan bomb, which I can be sensitive to. Thankfully, while it does have that note in the dry down, the rose note stays right there with it, along with a bit of woodiness, so at least to my nose it's not pure ambroxan. Performance is decent, I get roughly 4 hours before it gets down to just the base notes which then last another 3-4 hours mostly as a skin scent. Moderate sillage, but it definitely packs a punch at the beginning. I do 3ish sprays and that's plenty. It took a few more days of using of a sample I got to be sure I was willing to pay the exorbitant Creed tax, but I did end up purchasing a 50ml. Is it a ridiculously expensive and very much overpriced luxury item? Yes, absolutely. Am I glad I got it? Yes, absolutely.

Wild Vetiver became one of the fragrances that genuinely excited me for summer. For a long time, I had been searching for a fragrance that smells fresh, vibrant, and slightly green without feeling boring or too faint, while also giving a cool and refreshing vibe with good performance. I honestly loved it from the very first spray. Especially if you’re looking for something that feels fresh, fruity, and woody at the same time for spring and summer, I think this is a very successful option. It may not be completely original or groundbreaking, but it’s definitely a fragrance that’s very enjoyable to wear. A lot of people mentioned that the perfume has some similarities to the DNA of Parfums de Marly Delina, but personally I enjoyed Wild Vetiver much more. I find the original Delina a little too monotonous and overly familiar for my taste. In Wild Vetiver, the rose feels much fresher, brighter, and more modern. Instead of a dark, nostalgic, or overly romantic rose, it gives a juicy, sparkling, slightly citrusy, green, and refreshing rose impression. The vetiver touch makes the fragrance feel even more airy, crisp, breathable, and perfect for warm weather. The price is definitely quite high, so I can understand why many people would prefer fragrances with a similar DNA at a lower cost, but honestly, I still fell in love with it. It has the same cool, radiant, fresh, and airy kind of DNA that reminds me of Creed Silver Mountain Water.

The initial opening of this fragrance is a floral and slightly spicy scent profile. At about 15 minutes into the wear I start picking up some citrus notes from the Bergamot and continue to smell the floral and slightly spicy notes. At the heart, the fragrance continues to settle and smoothen out while still projecting well off my skin. I continue to get the floral notes, and adding a slightly fruity scent, but the spiciness has settled down significantly. The next transition is just before the full dry down where the Vetiver has definitely come out as the dominant note and is very well blended with the floral and fruity notes from the Heart of the fragrance. The dry down of this fragrance is a very well blended woody scent with hints of florals and sweetness. Projection of this fragrance is OK with the fragrance creating a scent bubble of about 2 feet for about 90 minutes. The sillage is OK as well with a scent trail of about 2.5 feet for about 90 minutes. Logevity is actually fair with the fragrance lasting on my skin about 4 to 5 hours, but becoming a skin scent at about 3 hours.

Unisex, Bright citrus, fruity, fresh rose scent. I adored this when I first got it. I keep seeing comparisons to delina or queen of silk. They are genuinely not similar at all I have no idea where that's come from. It opens with a sparkling berry and citrus which quickly gets overwhelmed by rose. Unfortunately, that rose element has a similar screechiness to it as Baccarat Rouge 540. If you love that, this will work for you. It's a bit of an abbrassive scent to me so I cant wear more than 3 sprays of this or i'll choke out anyone near me including myself. If the opening was the bulk of its scent profile, this would be an easy 10/10. But that screechiness really tires you out. it's similar to being in a makeup room with about 50 rose air freshners thats been sprayed WAY too much. There's also a lemonade stand in there for the sake of description. Pros: - Compliment MAGNET - Incredible longevity and projection - Uplifting, bright scent Cons: - Screechy element - Can definitely be overpowering. overall 8.8/10 - still love this one.

Really enjoy this realease, first in some time from the house. Nothing like the previous "Vetiver" release, which I imagine many are ignoring this one because they assume it bears a resemblance. It does not. This is the only rose fragrance I've smelled recently that I like on me (male). Borderline too sweet for me, but it's really pleasant and juicy in the opening, the drydown is pleasant, and it lasts all day long and into the next day on my skin if extreme longevity is something you're looking for. It's little too rich for my blood right now given how many other fragrances I have to work through, but will definitely be a pickup at some point. A 50ml would probably be right for me; I don't think it's something I would want to make a daily or signature. It's not a scent I want to smell on me endlessly. Somewhere between like and love for me, so I'll give it the full nod. Give it a try at your local department store.

Fantastic scent! This perfume immediately reminded me of H24 EDP, they have the same scent profile, just remove the sage and oakmoss. Wild vetiver is more easy to wear, Green-Rosy fresh fragrance! and doesnt have that old vibe metallic smell from H24 edp. It also reminded me of a scent that sometimes used in a high-end luxury hotel lobby / boutique, but is not overpowering, well-blended, smooth and refined. Definitely this is my new sig scent, and the best perfume Creed released since AVENTUS, coz for me Absolu is just the upgraded version of aventus with same scent profile. Scent : 9.5/10 Longevity : 9/10 ( I have acidic skin chem, but it lasted 8-10 hrs after initial spray (4 sprays), no respray happened ; still can smell wifts on my shirt even after laundry) Overall : 9.5/10 Well I love fresh scent profile. I looooove it but there is a catch, I love it on paper. It is fresh, citrusy, rosy but in a very round way. It is absolutely gorgeous on paper and I am addicted to it, summer fragrance that is light, unisex and will get attention but you won't be glared down because you are taking the oxygen out of the air. Surprisingly now as I type, I know another green rose scent which has pepper as a note and it resembles wild vetiver - it is love is coming...chapter 2 by the different company. On skin, different story - the rose is dialed back, the citruses pops more. Retains its lightness but it is so much more shy compared to the paper. It lasted around 4-5 hours but not a projection beast even freshly sprayed. Not worth the price point and the toned down scent profile on skin, so it won't be a full bottle.

That's my first ever comment if i remembering correctly,so first of all i LOVE rose (i'm a Male) i have Oud Satin Mood Extrait de Parfume,i had testers like Atomic Rose ,Radical Rose, Extrait de Parfume radical rose, and now Wild Vetiver as a little tester. This perfume is FANTASTIC i feel like it's more of a Green Atomic Rose type of a fragrance,everybody says their first impression was Citrus notes,for me instantly rose and more rose and more and more i can't really smell anything else,and trust me i smelled like a thousands other fragrances but this one is sooooo goood. So yeah if you ever smelled atomic rose before that's almost just like that but not that strong and not that sweet.

I tried this at the creed counter recently, and was initially unimpressed. It wasn’t for me I thought. Vetivert I don’t tend to jive with and this is strong on first application. Some vetivert smells like cigarettes and bonfires to me but this one is a very earthy, dirt, soil like vetivert. I took the sample card and went about my business. Later that day I kept smelling a waft of something incredible and went back to my sample cards. The dry down on this is just insane. This is so incredibly well blended. an earthy woody green rose, a deep floral profile no bright florals here, a touch of dark fruits balancing it out. It smells like being in the middle of a rose garden in full bloom.

I had no interest in smelling this due to the name but my personal shopper forced me to smell it and I am so glad she did. This is such a unique green, juicy, sweet, and fruity scent. If you like Greenly from PDM you will love this. When you spray this it starts out as a green smell with a light hint of sweetness. Now the dry down is where this shines. After about 5 minutes it starts to gain this green sweetness that I can’t pin pointed note but it’s yummy. once it’s drys down is where it turns into a sweet, fruity green scent that is so unique and so good. like a more complex PDM greenly without the oak moss and a touch sweeter. Just get it, you won’t be disappointed!!

Creed's Wild Vetiver is my current mood boosting obsession. It's green, it's clean, it's zesty with an almost herbal quality to it. It reminds me of sniffing an Artisan tea mix. The rose isn't very noticeable. In fact, I feel like you need to be searching for it to like it. The name says it all, Vetiver is the star of the show. Citrus is the backup singers highlighting the charismatic charm of Vetiver. I truly love it. It satisfies something in me that I cannot define. I just know that I don't ever want to be without it. It's perfectly Unisex, sophisticated, clean, crisp, and refined.

Really great fragrance. It’s a different take on a vetiver; it’s definitely different than the other popular vetivers. It’s citrus and clean to begin with a hint of sweetness. The rose comes quickly to blend with the citrus for a unique scent. I probably have at least ten vetiver dominate fragrances, and this does not smell like any of them. It’s a great spring/summer option. Very unisex, but I think the rose note is causing people to say it’s femme learning, but I think it’s right down the middle. Scent Rating 8/10.

For me this is very citrus for the top notes and then rose and after about 5-10 min I could smell the vetiver. After about 1 hour the citrus was still prominent and the rose and vetiver were more well balanced and they all blended so well together. Just gorgeous! It lasted for about 5 hours. I think this fragrance is lovely! Perfect for spring & summer. It reminds me of a fragrance I used to use when I made homemade soap about 20 years ago. I bought this in Europe so it's expensive but not as crazy as in the US.

A really satisfying fresh spicy, stemmy rose with incredible longevity. Airy and light with excellent sillage. Spot on perfect for spring and summer. I don’t find it overly masc or fem. I can see the similarity to the Delinas, but in my mind it leans closer to a green version of Eladaria. The retail price is ridiculous, but I will enjoy my reasonably priced 10 mL decant from Scents Angel while deciding if it’s full-bottle worthy after it starts appearing on secondhand and grey markets.

Okay so I have sample of this, and I am in love with it, and will buy full asap. It's like mix of guerlain vetiver and some juicy fruits (maybe it's rose, blackcurrant and bergamot accord) with soft musk to support that zingyness and make is smooth and on lux side. overall it's 9/10, Performance is 2 hrs of good 2-3ft projection and lasts for 8hrs till cloth scent. PS* I don't consider price and notes mentioned, when I rate a fragrance, it's all about what my nose perceives. Thanks✨
