Bergamot & Musk

I really do not understand how people can review a fragrance and make comparisons to a specific other fragrance when they haven't even smelled the fragrance they are making the comparison to. It doesn't make any sense. Such as comparing this fragrance to Creed Aventus. They never smelled one or the other, yet they say "I've never smelled it, but.." Stop right there. Don't even bother. Any credibility just went out the window. SMH. I've owned a smaller bottle of Aventus and Cremo Bergamot and Musk fragrance has a very similar scent to it. It lacks a little of pineapple note, but Bergamot & Musk does a good job of smelling like Creed Aventus (85-90%) at a fraction of the price and is a delightful, bright, uplifting and beautiful fragrance all on it's own. One of the best from their line of fragrances. Well done Cremo! I can say this one is a Home Run! It makes me feel good when I wear it. It smells so good and the responses from others have been great. A daily fragrance, work and gym friendly with 4 sprays or maybe even less. Especially good for a date night in warmer temps. I know, some people think its only a daytime fragrance. Night wearing also works, depending on the setting. Definitely a Spring/Summer scent. Could be worn in the Fall. It's a wonderful fresh fragrance that shouldn't be overlooked. I'm saying don't sleep on it! Cremo fragrances would sell easily for much more if they were in a different bottle and had a brand name on it. Fact. Cremo offers great bang-for-the-buck scents and well worth owning. Unless of course you're a frag snob. To you I say "Good day."

My church family went a little Cremo crazy for me this year. I got Bourbon Vanilla, Blue Cedar & Cypress, Iced Citron & Driftwood and this one, Bergamot & Musk along with some of the shampoo/conditioners. For the price, these fragrances are all very solid. Bergamot & Musk does remind me a bit of a fruitier batch of Creed's Aventus. None of the Cremo's are 100% clones but would be cheaper alternatives that are inspired by the higher end designers and niche brands they are trying to emulate. Out all the Cremos, Spice & Black Vanilla is by far the best smelling and longest lasting but none of them are slouches. If you're on a budget and don't have access to a good online discounter, then this is good enough to get the scent profile of Aventus without the quality. If you do have a good discounter, there are better options for Aventus clones but this is still an okay option for the price. I'm glad that I didn't pay for this but also glad to add it to my collection. I'm now only missing 3 Cremo's in order to have the whole line. At the price of them, I'd be happy to own them all.

Hello and welcome to my second Cremo review! My previous review was for Blue Cedar Cypress, another great frag. I can almost smell what people mean when they say that this is an Aventus clone, but I disagree. On first spray, it smells like the drydown for Club de Nuit Intense Man; dry wood (birch), pineapple, and an herbal tone. I'll give you that one. However, this frag's drydown is what differentiates it from Aventus/Aventus clones. The drydown on this is amped-up musk and woody notes with just a touch of fruit coming through: think of it like a birch-scented dryersheet that went through the wash with a shirt that so happened to have Aventus sprayed on it and you come pretty close. I personally think this is another excellent standalone frag from Cremo: it has a clean, office-friendly vibe that is great for spring and summer.

The opening will absolutely remind you of the fruity, sweet and fresh opening of Aventus but when it dries down, it's a creamy, fruity musk fragrance that shouldn't last forever but somehow it does. Absolutely stellar performance for the price. I was gifted a bottle and put on the shelf thinking to myself, "oh great, another Aventus clone" and just forgot about it but I decided to wear it as my scent of the evening yesterday and dang, it's good. I first sprayed it on at 5:30pm and this morning as I was getting ready for work, 12 hours later, I was still catching wafts. Absolutely great smelling and amazing performance for a $20 cheapie. Cremo does it again...

Cremo Bergamot and Musk smells like the dry down of Aventus. Im not sure how people dont get that but it does. Is it exactly like Aventus? No, but it's in the ballpark. It's not smoky but it has that similar DNA and smells terrific! Cremo B&M lasts forever and the 1st day I wore it I got a compliment 11hrs after I put it on, which is insane. It's a $22.99 fragrance sold at Target that in no way shape or form smells cheap. Check it out and judge for yourself. It's a winner in my book.

Love my bottle of Bergamot and Musk, as everyone says it smells very Creed Aventus. I was lucky to get some of the discontinued frags (this one and Leather and Oud a Tuscan Leather clone) l before they went scarce. Now I see those 2 scents go at a premium. Cremo got me to buy the whole collection and none are bad. My favorite is Citron and Driftwood (Dior cologne clone) with a close second Spice and Black Vanilla (Viktor and Rolf Spicebomb). Well done Cremo keep it going!

I really don't get the Aventus comparisons, i've smelled Aventus and I have CDNIM, nowhere near close to smelling similiar. It has it's own character and I dig that about it. If anything, it's opening reminds me of Fragrance One Office, but that's it'. This won't over take the room, but if you're wanting to smell great on a budget, get this. The Cremo line is outstanding! I also have Spice and Black Vanilla and that one has a hint of PDM Layton. I love that one as well.

This fragrance is outstanding! Yes, it has that Aventus vibe, and Cremo’s Bergamot & Musk version of it is very good. It’s a quality scent with over 12 hours longevity for me. That’s amazing for a $20 EDT. I like this better than CDNIM. Will be wearing this a lot this summer. Great performance in the summer heat.

@Mjcastelston Cremo did not rename Bergamot and Musk as it was discontinued some time ago. Italian Bergamot is a completely different formulation. A new fragrance as listed on the Cremo website. They both have citrus notes but they smell NOTHING alike. A completely different scent altogether.

I see most on here says it smells like Aventus or a Aventus clone. And I agree. Is it 100% no. But it smells real close to Aventus minus the Pineapple to my nose. A very solid offering from Cremo. I am looking fwd to try more from the house.

Creed Aventus on a budget. I personally like this more than Armaf CDNIM and Mont Blanc Explorer. Does it have the depth of those fragrances? No but this is a compliment monster. This is just an amazing all around bang for buck fragrance.

Smells like Aventus to me...I have Aventus (2nd bottle) this is great for the price.

I'm a fan of Cremo. I think their fragrances are great quality for the price, a nice gateway drug into fragrances, if you will. However, Bergamot & Musk is my least favorite of the bunch. It is fruity, but in this rough and raw kind of way. It's lacking any attention grabbing freshness or sweetness to really make it appealing. More than any of the Cremo fragrances, it smells cheap. Let me explain what I mean by that. B&M gets compared to Aventus. I've never smelled Aventus, but I do have another fragrance that I'm told is also inspired by Aventus. It's called "Sophisticated & Aromatic", by the company Hawthorne. And I can see how both are going for a similar vibe, with a fruity opening and a musky drydown. But S&A has a refined sweet note to it. It's rounder, smoother, and much more appealing. It's also $50 for 50 ml, as opposed to Cremo's $23 for 100 ml. That's over four times more expensive per ml. But I think the difference in price comes through in the scent. B&M smells cheap by comparison, because it is cheap. I would never reach for B&M rather than S&A. If Cremo was aiming for an Aventus vibe, it may just not have had the budget to reach it and still smell appealing. If you like Cremo or cheap fragrances in general, maybe give this one a pass. Edit: I'm revisiting this today (5/10/21) in my fragrance rotation, and I have to say, maybe I was a bit too harsh on this. It does smell pleasant in its own right, with a mix of muskiness and fruitiness. Quality wise it really is no worse than the rest of Cremo's line, which I love. To the user above me who kinda called me out, the point for me in bringing up Aventus was NOT to directly compare this to Aventus lol. The point was to acknowledge that others often compare this to Aventus, and make the connection to another fragrance I own that gets compared to Aventus, and compare this frag to THAT. That other fragrance, "Sophisticated and Aromatic" by Hawthorne, is just so similar and all around better to the point that there's no situation that I would opt to wear this over that unless I was specifically rotating through to wear it for the sake of wearing it (like today). And even though my opinion on this frag has improved, that's still the case. Hawthorne is not some overpriced niche or high end designer brand, it's still just $50 for 50 ml. It and Cremo are my favorite fragrance houses (along with Banana Republic's Icon collection). So I'd hardly say I'm a snob for expensive frags! This is just a odd situation where I own something that I feel is universally better than one of my Cremos. Would I get more use and enjoyment out of "Bergamot and Musk" if I didn't already own that Hawthorne frag? Probably. So if you like Cremo frags and you like frags in general that offer good quality at the $20/100 ml price point, then yeah, go for it, you'll probably like this too.

As you’ve probably figured out already, this is Cremo’s take on Aventus. I’m not quite sure I’d call it a straight-up clone, though; Cremo’s fragrances are often pretty simple (and usually tell you exactly what you’re getting right on the label), and this one is no exception. Bergamot and musk. That’s what you get here, and it’s pretty good. The reason I’d shy from calling this a “clone” is because it’s missing some important notes, namely the fruity pineapple opening. Bergamot can be similar, but it’s not the same, and the pineapple open is one of the best and most distinctive Aventus accords to my nose. Also, there’s not much smokiness to this that I can discern, maybe a little tiny bit after the dry-down. There's a subtle and pleasant woodiness and muskiness there, though. It has an Aventus vibe to be sure but it’s pared down. For the $20 I paid, that’s good enough for me. I like it quite a bit and am glad to have it as a fresh spring/summer cheapie to wear around the house. It looks like the spray version is discontinued now (although they still sell the solid travel cologne) but it's still in stock here and there, so if you’re interested, grab it if you can still find it for cheap.

Am I wearing cologne? That's what I had to ask myself the first few times I wore this, granted I bought it in the winter, but still it was a warm winter this year. Anyways, has an alcoholic opening. Citrus? Yeah I suppose, but it's an unripe citrus. The fragrance seems to go from smelling very sterile to slightly musky. It's like the edge of Invictus, literally just the edge with a slight bit of freshness. I like it, but it smells like nothing and something at the same time. At times there's a burnt rubber accord that comes out. I'll wear it again for sure, would be a perfect office scent, but not one with a memorable odor. Warmer weather, daytime for sure.

Renamed as Italian Bergamot: This is NOT an aventus clone lol, this a prominent cypress and amber note which gives the citrus a bittersweet and fresh green twist. And it indeed has a smooth MUSK in the background. The only con is it has a mid sillage and longitivity. Loved the body spray version more as it's less sharper than the cologne and cheaper. Edit: the solid body deodorant is completely useless.

I got this in the solid form and it's very good! It almost smells like an Aventus clone type of scent at first but when you rub it on and give it some time it starts to smell like a spicy bergamot scent. It projects nice and steady and it's very easy to apply. I would like to try other solid colognes now along with others from Cremo after trying this out! I give this a 9.1/10

This is very similar to Zara's Rich Leather. That being said, it is NOT an Aventus Clone (which some people say Rich Leather is), but Cremo's Bergamot Musk is certainly built along the same vein. The pineapple is heavier in this (as in Rich Leather) than Aventus. a good scent, terrible sprayer, middling longevity.

L'Eau de Aventus, wears muskier with a persistent bergamot opening. Warm/hot weather is perfect, projects slightly above skin level. Needs to be reapplied if it's to last all day, decanted some to take along.

My least favorite and the only synthetic smelling from the Cremo line in my opinion. smells like CDNIM if you take away the dark woody birch.
