Spice & Black Vanilla

Well this is embarrassing. I'm the first reviewer here and unfortunately I'm not good at reviewing as I struggle to ever pick up anything but the most dominant note. But there is literally no info here so I'll try my best for you. I just got it in the mail and opened it. Since I already have Perry Ellis Dark Vanilla Absolute on I sprayed it in the air just to figure it out. I'll try to update it again after I wear it for a full day tomorrow. I'm rather new with modern cologne so take what I say with a grain of salt. I like vanilla in my cologne so I picked this up on Amazon for $23. The air spray does not have an overwhelmingly vanilla scent to it. For sure, it's there but it's also joined with spice and wood. I do pick up that bourbon vanilla. This is not a sweet scent to me. Right now this is a like but not a love for me. To me, if vanilla was created like whiskey in a wood barrel (uh, bourbon vanilla I suppose) and had a bit of Captain Morgan's spice thrown in then I think this is close to what you might get. I don't know what cardamom or vevitier smells like so that's as good as I can do here. Bourbon smell but not heavy whiskey or alcohol. Simply nothing like any of the other vanilla cologne I own. Unique. Where I'm at it's 85° with a life draining 100% humidity. This would be an awful choice for that weather. It's a fall/winter cologne and I'd feel a bit wary wearing it on a hot or humid spring or summer day. I think I'd smell like an alcoholic with this in warm weather. Hmmm, this could be a very good scent around the holidays though. It's nice but not interesting enough to be a first date, reel 'em in with your intoxicating allure kind of smell. Does that help anybody at all? The bottle is clear with Cremo written in the front and sides but with the front side featuring a crown. There is a white sticker with red font that says spice and black vanilla. My sticker is a bit off-center and crooked. Kind of cheapens the overall look. I can already tell I won't be falling in love with this one but I think the current weather may be skewing my opinion. Does it make sense if I say it would be right in it's element in a fall/winter camping trip where you find yourself drinking with your friends around a fire while holding your significant other? Okay, I tried here. That's all I got. Update after wearing it for a day: No doubt now that this is a fall/winter cologne. It comes in with a woody, mildly spiced, bourbon vanilla. It would actually be quite nice in the cooler months and I am now much more happy with the purchase. You know, vanilla in a male's cologne is a tough scent to get right. Too sweet like Molinard's unisex Vanilla and a guy smells like a high school, teenage girl with cupcake perfume. Get it right and you get Eros, Le Male, or Perry Ellis's wonderful boozy vanilla. Well, this is a decent vanilla. Not too sweet with almost a hint of smoke with that bourbon vanilla. It doesn't have beastly projection. Projection and sillage seem to be completely average. Remember that campfire comment from above about your girl sitting with you...spot on. Just right for the right person to notice. As it moves on through the day, it moves to just vanilla with just a hint of bourbon smokiness. All in all, I'll be wearing this later this year. So that's it. My first solo review without any other comments to guide me. Now I'm ready for others to tell me I'm completely and totally wrong and hopeless when it comes to cologne. Lol. Who cares? I like it. Anyways, hope this helps. Good purchase for @ $23. Final update: So I've come to find out in my process of learning about fragrances that bourbon vanilla is a type of vanilla and doesn't necessarily mean booze. I now know i may have shown a bit of ignorance when it comes to fragrances and I apologize if I confused anybody. Yet, the actual smell and my description of this remains the same. Hey, I'm an amateur but at least I'm learning!

Opening is very spicy and vanillic. The spices are akin to cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, basically all the spices that are synonymous with fall. I do not detect any cardamom. The vanilla is always in the background from the open to the dry down. In the dry down, it becomes a softer (yet still spicy) vanillic scent, but the spices are way more toned down. This is the perfect fall fragrance! I know people claim that this as a Spicebomb extreme clone, but to me it smells more like the original Spicebomb with a vanilla note added. Spicebomb extreme includes tobacco (and other notes that I can't quite decipher) which makes the fragrance somewhat more complex than Cremo. But honestly for the price point I would say this is a great alternative to the OG or Spicebomb extreme. Personally after having purchased this Cremo, I never found the urge to buy any Spicebomb fragrances again. Now I know that this fragrance is marketed to men, but myself and others that I have shared this fragrance with agree that it does lean somewhat feminine, which I think gives it unisex qualities, but sometimes I feel it leans a little too feminine for my taste. I continue wearing it nonetheless, as I find the fragrance just divine! As for projection and longevity, I'll give you my experience; I've owned this fragrance for more than a year now, and I've used up about half the bottle. When I initially started using it, the projection was incredibly weak and longevity was no more than a couple of hours before it was a skin scent. Now however, this fragrance is practically beast mode and I have to go easy on the sprays. Another thing I'd like to note, when I had first purchased this fragrance, the juice was clear with the slightest yellow tint, but now the juice is a dark orange color. What I'm trying to say is, if you purchase this fragrance and are disappointed with the performance, just blast a good amount of sprays, let it rest for a few months, and then give it another go; you'll probably also be surprised by how the performance improves over time.

Surprised there aren't any reviews of this yet. For the price, I was amazed by the quality of all Cremo products. I like that I can layer this with the body wash (which is moisturizing and overall great for the skin), and the deodorant. Together, they help boost the overall longevity of the fragrance; especially if you add something like Viking Revolution's Spice Vanilla lotion to the mix. Even if not using this fragrance, those products create a nice supportive base to anything sharing a similar gourmand profile. Sure, while it's on the same tier as low-end fragrances, it's light years beyond alternatives like Axe. I'd say Cremo is on the high end of the introductory lower-tier. If you're in your teens or 20s wanting to explore something better than Old Spice or Axe, but still intimidated by the middle or luxury levels, this is the way to go. I wish I'd known about these products in my early 20s when they launched in 2005. Even as a man now in his early 40s, I sometimes layer this with other scents; like Rayhaan Lion EDP, or even on my clothes after applying Armani Stronger With You Absolutely to my pulse points. The Cremo plays off the vanilla notes while adding a fresher spice accent. That way it shines more as an addition, rather than a sole fragrance sought for projection or sillage; which I'd say lasts about 1-2 hours on skin, and 2-4 hours on clothes. Sillage is definitely more potent than the projection, especially if you spray the back of your neck. The one thing I found odd here is it only lists cashmere woods as the middle note. Isn't this supposed to at least be imitating tobacco (on some level inspired by the dupes of Tom Ford's Vanille Tobacco)? Yes, the first sprays, while ready to go out of the bottle, can smell like synthetic licorice, but once it settles, the vanilla notes come through, though the spicy-fresh notes remain dominant.

I purchased my bottle back in Jan of 2024, however, I can't look up it's true production age since the batch codes for Cremo are still not in the Check Fresh database. Nonetheless, used it multiple times over the winter with the intention of getting some air in the bottle in order to allow it to mature some. Around April I put it away in my storage shelf with the other fall/winter frags. Out of curiosity, I pulled it out today and I have already noticed the following: The juice has darkened some 9 months since I initially purchased it and started using it. I could also tell from smelling it right from the atomizer that it is much more potent. I sprayed it a couple times on my forearm this morning and it is still hanging around pretty well for a solid 8 hours. It had definitely started to fade around the 8th hour, but Nonetheless, by my standard it is performing like an 8 hour fragrance. For a $20 fragrance (100 ml), 8 solid hours is a great performer. The projection was pretty good at an arms length for 2 hours and settles down to about a foot after that. The scent profile is also great, it's highly reminiscent of the original Spice Bomb with some vanilla added to it. This is another one I like to use for my daytime casual and work uses. Overall, give this time to mature, as this is another great candidate for getting a spot on the Mount Rushmore of cheap fragrances! It's not expensive, and you get an excellent price per ml value (100 ml for only $20)!

I absolutely love the scent, but I disagree with what a lot of people say about it. It smells like an even combination of vanilla but not sugary sweet, bourbon spiced with like nutmeg and cardamom, and then a prominent woody-Citrus scent that I think is coming from the vetiver, cedar, and/or woody accord. It's not even a close comparison to Spicebomb Extreme, but rather VERY close to the original Spicebomb EDT. I have another Teakwood and Spiced Rum fragrance that shares far more similarities with this one. For performance, I'm not as impressed as some others, either. It is definitely strong at first and projects pretty well for about 1.5 hours, but then dies down to a skin scent for about 5-6 hours total max, lingering on clothes longer but still only detectable shoving your nose in it. I do NOT think this scent is only geared toward cold weather, because the vanilla is balanced by the spice and woody-citrus that tingles the nostrils in a good way. I've worn it in high heat and wasn't bothered at all the way Spicebomb Extreme definitely would. It's also office friendly if you only do a few sprays, it will fade. I wish it lasted and projected more, because I really, really like the scent. It's like a layered combo of a spicy vanilla and a woody Citrus scent, so it's unique and all around pleasant. 7/10, fine price though for respraying. If you can get original spicebomb under $50, would recommend that instead it'll last longer.

Spice & Black Vanilla is a great classic winter fragrance that deserves the hype it gets. Very warm and decadent, and not too sweet. Opening is pretty spicy and tobacco-heavy (which is unexpected because tobacco isn't listed in the notes at all), but the dry-down is nice with a really smooth vanilla note accented by the vetiver and spicy woodiness. Everyone should own this or at least try it out. As others have pointed out, it is in fact similar to Spicebomb Extreme, but only like 80-90% similar. Spicebomb Extreme has this sexy bright aromatic quality to it that lingers in the background and helps blend everything together, which this one does not. It's a fairly simple and linear fragrance, and as much as I love it, it does feel like it's "missing" something, which would be that bright and fresh sweetness that makes Spicebomb a bit more versatile and mass appealing. While it's still an amazing fragrance, I don't wear this one that often because the tobacco and spice is slightly on the abrasive side in my opinion. Performance is great for a $20 fragrance, longevity and projection are both slightly above average. I can still smell this on me 8 hours after applying. This is at least a solid 8.5/10, super affordable and a safe blind-buy. Would recommend.

Just picked up a second bottle of this after a hiatus of over 2 years. Man-o-man have i been missing out! I remember now, how great this frag was and why i wound up not having it. Back at the start of my fragrance creation journey i had a customer that wanted a fragrance with a LOT of vanilla. With the aromachemical set i had at the time, i couldn't make what she wanted at the strength she wanted. When i had a second meeting with her to relay the difficulties i was having in building the fragrance she asked me "what is that you have on? I want THAT much vanilla...and the spices are nice too!" I told her i had on "Cremo Black Vanilla & Spice"... Her response..."Give me that...but with the other notes i requested!". So that's what i did, I decanted and combined the Cremo frag with the rest of the aromachemicals for her requested notes and voila...another happy customer. However it meant i was out of a bottle of this fragrance...lol. My search for the perfect Vanilla must have started shortly after that because i never bought another bottle of this until today. I've found my perfect and forever Vanilla since that time, and now i have the perfect fragrance to layer with it. Tomorrow is going to be a great day. 🤠👍🏾❤️

Cremo Spice & Black Vanilla holds a special place for me — it was the first fragrance I ever bought for myself, and still my favorite from the Cremo line. People often compare this to Spicebomb Extreme, but to me, it leans more toward the original Spicebomb EDT. It’s not as hot or intense in the spices as the Extreme version — the spice here is more laid-back, and the vanilla is smoother, giving it a more understated charm. This is a fantastic cool-weather fragrance: masculine, classy, and subtly sexy. The vanilla doesn’t go into gourmand or playful territory. Instead, it’s mature and refined — anchored by a warm, spicy backbone that keeps it grounded. There’s a soft, powdery sweetness here as well as a balsamic woody nature, but it’s well-balanced and never overwhelming. Over time, my bottle has noticeably darkened (I've had it for about two years), but I’m still unsure if the scent itself has changed. If it has, the difference is minimal. Like most Cremo fragrances, the projection and longevity are moderate. And considering the price point, this is a fantastic addition to any collection. A great everyday scent that smells far more expensive than it actually is.

tiktok made me buy it like 3 years ago cause i had no winter fragrances, i wasnt disappointed. its sweet, spicy, and you can notice the creamy vanilla in the background. a little darker, almost has this very faint tobacco scent to me. its very uplifting and comforting, i think thats my favorite part is that its very warm and inviting. perfect for any time of day in the winter or fall. i really dont see how someone can dislike this scent. pretty linear, it is simple and doesnt try to be super crazy or complex; sometimes less is more. ive layered it with other fragrances in the summer, its versatile, although i wouldnt wear it by itself in the summer. performance is middle of the road to me, maybe a little weaker then middle of the road, but considering the price, its absolutely not bad. my bottle is almost out after 2 falls/winters of it being my only fragrance for those times of the year, the only reason i wouldnt get it again is because its inspired me to try other fragrances for the winter and fall before i buy another bottle of this again. i'd probably get it again though just because of how cheap it is, cant go wrong.

Walmart sells this GEM, and I slept on this cologne for years without even thinking about purchasing. After some review searching, as you are probably doing now, I blindly purchased this item from Walmart, and it was delivered same day. Lets get to the good part , After spraying this on my clothes for work. I immediately smelled the vanilla and spice. Vanilla is a strong point for this cologne. After around 4 hours it faded but the vanilla still remained and the spice kind of took a back seat for a while. I think sweet colognes tend to fade out quicker, but then the compliments started rolling in and I started to purposely smell my own wrists in delight. In a nutshell, this cologne is the bomb and a MUST HAVE for men /women who want a sweet cologne, that is not mainstream, and budget-friendly. This is a good cologne to wear to a classy bar or smokers lounge, or when you want to impress a new love. Its unisex and I can see why women love it too. GET IT YOU WILL NOT BE DISSPOINTED . RATING 10/10 PERFECTION IN A BOTTLE.

For 22 bucks this is actually really decent lol. dont let the price fool you. this right hhere is high quality stuff. Smells pretty damn nice Decent projection Lasts a very long time for an EDT. like this is literally the only EDT i have and it lasts longer than most of my EDPs. or at least my nose doesnt go blind to it as fast. is 22 bucks!!!!!!! for a bottle that will keep you smelling fresh for 6 months!!!!!! did i mention this is 22 dollars? i mean seriouisly how can u complain for 22 dollars? This stuff is great, it will make you smell amazinng for dirt cheap... nobody is gonna stop and ask how much u paid for it.. they dont even usually ask the name, they just say dang u smell good! thats the funny thing about fragrance world.... most of us fragrance people dont even realize that 90% of people dont even wear fragrance.... so just using this 22 dollar fragrance makes you smell better than 90% of people automatically IMO overall 9.99/10

I blind gifted this fragrance to someone and they really liked it. I just now recently bought it for myself and I was surely surprised. I originally seen this at Walmart for about $20 and didn’t really expect it to smell how it did. I finally ordered one off of Amazon due to Walmart not having them anymore. It’s a great vanilla & spicy fragrance that compliments with my skin very well especially in the winter/fall time. I’d only recommend to use when it is cold outside due to it being a very sweet smell. I’d honestly give it a 8/10 due to its price point and smell. Really great budget winter fragrance for those getting into fragrances. I got told I smelled like a Horchata which is a Mexican Rice Milk Drink lol. The longevity is okay for me. I usually only get around 5 hours. The projection is where this fragrance lacks in my opinion. It ranges at least 1 foot but after 2 hours you could only smell up close.

Holy smokes, this stuff is good! I snagged this for $16.99 at Burlington's and it's probably the best cheapie I've found. I also have Spicebomb EDT and this one is really close to it. It smells fantastic from the get go, with lively peppery cardamom highlighting the top and a nice rich warm sweet but not gourmand vanilla settling into the mid and dry down with other spiced notes. The performance is solid, maybe average to slightly better than. Seriously, if I didn't already own Spicebomb I think I'd just go with this one given the big price difference and admirable similarity. It's the kind of scent that will garner compliments and offend no one, but it's not generic and has lots of personality. Excellent for evening and cool weather wear, and a great date night scent. Highly recommended without reservation and as good a value as you'll find.

I wore this one winter when I was ~24 years old and got constant compliments. It has to be my most complimented scent just because its so season appropriate for fall/winter. I've actually never been very interested in Spicebomb Extreme because I found this first; I've since moved to a different DNA altogether with JPG Scandal EDT. As for the smell, it gives me a creamsicle vibe, even tho orange isn't listed, its surely detectable alongside the vanilla. If I would compare it to something else in vibe I would say a masculine version of Amo Ferragamo is what I pickup. If your girlfriend is wearing Amo Ferragamo this would actually pair so nice when you enter a room together. Spice and Black Vanilla is a 8/10, 9/10 considering price point, grab this from target/walmart if you're a young guy who just wants to smell good in the winter.

Can't believe I forgot to review this but it's definitely one of my favorites of all time. On my cheapie journey there are a few notable ones in the less than $40 Range and it's -Cremo Spice and Black Vanilla -Issey Miyake Bleu D'Issey -Banana Republic Midnight Hour - Vintage Green - Tobacco and Tonka Bean -Tommy Bahamas St. Kitts Most other cheapies are meh but yeah Cremos Spice and Black Vanilla is the 🐐. Layering it with CK Shock is heavenly AF also. Nonstop compliments in the fall and winter. It's so simple yet the fragrance is definitely one that will imprint on people's minds. Men & women alike. I dont care how much of a fragrance snob you are, you cannot deny that this is the best money spent on a fragrance considering the price. (Btw, moisturize with Shea butter with this one and thank me later)

I received this as a gift for Christmas, decided to wait and wear it a little bit before i give a review. It's a pretty good cologne for its price tag. I'm a pretty big fan of the smell, It has that spicy vanilla smell that I like. My only complaint is it doesn't last long at all, after a couple of hours you would have to bury your face in my chest to even smell it. Another complaint is it can give a sorta strong alcohol smell when you first put it on, I'd recommend to put this on and wait for it to settle before you go out. Once it settles it has a nice spicy woodsy vanilla scent to it. Scent: 9/10 Longevity: 5/10 Bottle design: 7/10 Sillage: 6/10 (In the first hour at least) Overall: 8/10 A good budget winter/fall cologne, just make sure you re-apply or at least put on a good amount.

Just got it, transparent, very spicy, but softer than my original Spicebomb and less projection. I don't have Spicebomb extreme, but i find it very similar to my OG Spicebomb, just less strong and less projection and a very little sweetness of the vanilla. I have Tom Ford Noir Extreme, and i think i actually prefer this one which projects more and is more masculine and noticeable. My sister finds my Spicebomb too much and don't like it, but she loves this one and it's vanilla, chemical or not. I will wait for winter to see if it becomes more yellowish with more vanilla scent. But for now, i'm very happy. I feel like it's the perfect in-between of SB and SBE. Got it for 35€ (France) which is really cheap for the quality.

I firmly believe there are 2 formulas of this that are good bit different. People claiming that this doesn’t smell like SB on these reviews has me convinced they have something different than I have. My box had tobacco listed as note and it is unmistakably a clone of Spicebomb. I have both the OG and extreme and one can’t say this doesn’t almost blur the line between the 2. More vanilla than the OG but not as much as Extreme. Very good for the money and besides the screechy opening really could replace the V&R all together. Performance is no where near SB extreme but is still decent enough for the 5-7 hours it lasts. Great clone 7.5/10

Opening has a little too much alcohol but with how this fragrance smells, it's so easy to overlook that. Especially then price point, this is an absolute steal. The spices and vanilla mix together perfectly to create (in my opinion) one of the best cheap winter fragrances out there. Take maybe 60% of the sweetness from Azzaro TMW parfum and 60% of the spice from spice bomb extreme, mix together the openings and you get this opening. The sweets and spice mix perfectly I swear. From the mid to the dry down it definitely takes a different spin than TMW or spice bomb, but it's still really good. A 9/10 easily in my books.

First bought it and it was so spicy, the vanilla was weak and it was a super powdery mess. I was going to give it to my sister it was so feminine. I just let it sit on my wardrobe for months not wanting it. Several months later, I smelt JPG elixir and absolutely loved it, I noticed they had similar notes so I tried it one night to just compare and the spice, was to my surprise, tuned down the powdery was gone and the vanilla was prominent, I really think its very similar to Le make Elixir a very good before bed or cold weather scent . Be sure to let it sit and try again before getting your panties twisted.
