Well...three years later and I'm eating my words. That...or it has taken 3 years to macerate fully. Either way...this is pretty darn awesome. In my recent frustrations with all the "Vanilla" candy fragrances flooding the market that aren't worth a darn, I began looking backwards in the timeline and going back to older "Vanilla" fragrances. Then...I remembered...MBCB! I asked the wife for the bottle back last night after 3 years of not thinking about it, just curious to find out if the strength or tone of the fragrance has changed since I first bought it years ago. She hasn't touched it more than twice in the 3 years since I gave it to her, and had no problems returning it to me for experimentation. So I sprayed it once on my inner left elbow yesterday afternoon....WOW! WHAT....IS....THIS!!??!?!?!?!?!! That one spray into my inner elbow the previous afternoon was still very evident this morning. THIS is the smell that I'd read about 3.5 years ago that caused me to become curious about "Vanilla" fragrances. I only wonder why it took 3+ years for the frag to mature to the point of matching the scent tone description. Prior to this current date, it was a thin...citrusy...ambery....benzoic mess that didn't last 30 minutes or project past my skin. I'm fairly certain that it's not just the fragrance that has matured...but me as well. I know more now, have experienced more now and can appreciate this fragrance now. When I first bought MBCB, I expected something like "Bianco Latte"...that nuclear super-sugary-sweet vanilla explosion...when "Bianco Latte" wasn't even available yet. I hadn't discovered "SDV" yet 3 years ago...so I had no clue what a mature but powerful "Vanilla" fragrance was. I was ignorant, inexperienced and completely unaware. No...this fragrance is all about class and style....much like "SDV". It's not a kiddie vanilla...hyped up on sugar and bouncing off the walls. No...this fragrance is a calm, mature and thoughtful vanilla that radiates calm attraction all around. Having reached a certain age, I can now appreciate the composition of this fragrance fully. MBCB isn't nuclear, it's moderate....but so very long-lasting! It's consistent and reliable...like an island in the sea....unmoving...powerful...you only see the tip of it, but there is SO much more beneath the surface!!! I don't think the wife will be getting the bottle back, even though it is 50% full still. I will also petition for a backup bottle on the next holiday. This fragrance is serious. Not quite as boozy as my SDV, but very VERY close to the same scent profile! My bottles of SDV have some VERY strong competition... EDIT: 3+yr old bottle returned to wife, new bottle in-house and on my shelf!!

Mercedes-Benz Club Black EDT is fantastic, believe the hype, its been compared to other popular vanilla/benzoin/amber scent families which it does. Compared to Grand Soir MFK or Althair PDM, the winner is Mercedes-Benz Club Black's EDT. . It's apparent that PDM copied Club Black's EDT because they're about 90% similar, but Club Black's wins, it has a citrus/fresh undertone that really catapults the vanilla forward; its luxuriously smooth, its spices are muted & a true vanilla fragrance. It has hints of floral notes too. While other vanilla fragrances rely on powder, liquor or woods, Club Black EDT is an almost entirely vanilla DNA that respects the base note. Club Black EDT really wins the vanilla men's fragrance, trust me I've tried every men's & women's/unisex marketed vanillas, & nothing comes close to the perfection of this fragrance. It's immaculate. They did release an EDP recently & its nice but the EDT performs better & smells better. Mercedes-Benz really needs to start selling their fragrances online again for the U.S.A market because it's a shame the western world has to buy them in discounters or resale shops. Olivier Cresp has made some of his best fragrance under Mercedes-Benz. . So many sleeper hits exist under this brand & its a shame their marketing is so terrible. It's the best fall/winter fragrance, technically not a true gourmand but definitely a "new age" gourmand . . While it's best for colder weather its citrus smooth undertones could warrent its use during cool spring days or cool summer nights. Trust me, I don't believe in blind buying but if you like vanilla, get this. Nothing will ever beat this & I've tried them all. . . Some cons; just an okay atomizer & cheap bottle but the juice is superb.

Okay genuinely I love this scent. This may be a somewhat biased review as it was my first ever cologne that I got. My dad bought it for me at the mall and I have had it ever since but even to this day I still find it super easy to wear. If you are looking for something that is a easy clean masculine vanilla scent that women will love this is 100% worth the investment. I find this cologne to be one of the most versatile colognes in my collection even though it is a mainly vanilla scent. You get a wonderful dry down experience while wearing this and that tobacco note is actually relevant throughout the dry down which isn't always the case in other colognes. The other thing that just bumps this sucker up a notch in my books is that it is an excellent cologne to use as a layer. Throw this bad boy on and layer it with another scent of a similar vein and youve got a wonder complex blend with that amazing dry down I previously mentioned. For the price I think literally every man should have a bottle of this in their collection. Its a stupid slept on reach and one that you'll most likely get a lot of wears out of. My favorite layering patterns with this are Club Black + 1 Million Elixir, Club Black + YSL Libre, Club Black + Royal Blend and even, Club Black + Rasasi Hawas Malibu

9.5/10 Legit one of the best fragrances I’ve ever smelled, will never give anyone a headache, and is so addictive. In the best way possible, if you like the smell of vanilla extract, you will most definitely love this. It smells like vanilla extract (minus the gross-ish alcohol smell) but with a subtle but perfect masculine addition that is hard to describe. It smells like vanilla beans sitting on top of beautiful orange amber, if that makes sense. These ratings seem to exclude summer, but this stuff smells so good and is very inoffensive, so I don’t see why this couldn’t be worn in summer. So so so good, can be worn any time imo. Just makes me smile and feel so clean. Before I bought this, I blind bought Khamrah qahwa and honestly didnt and don’t like it very much. It smells very spicy and gingery at the start. After an hour it smells really good but it’s a very musky and feminine leaning vanilla that I don’t love. Once I bought club black, I realized that it was the exact vanilla fragrance I was looking for. No spice, no ginger, just a beautiful subtle (but still present) darkish vanilla. Again, khamrah q smells kind of has a candle spice, Mercedes Benz has no spice and is like an amber vanilla extract.
