Cuba Silver Blue

Cuba Paris Cuba Silver Blue I got from the notes on Cuba Paris' website. "Top notes of mandarin and grapefruit are underpinned by sandalwood and iron woods." That said, it is very much in the territory of Carolina Herrera's 212 Men. I should have known that by colors, but I didn't. I say that as I am not a fan of 212 Men. My brother is, I'm not. That said what I do not like in 212 Men, the green notes is not as fresh cut grass as 212 Men is. While the spicy notes are as prominent as 212 Men's, the green notes don't make it smell like fresh-cut grass. It also smells like a more green Perry Ellis Night. To me I just get pepper (what is called spicy notes), citrus with more bergamot than grapefruit, some lavender and a faint green note in the opening. The mid is some slight florals and a slight ginger. In the base I get labdanum and musk with some woods from sandalwood and guaiac wood. I do not get the petitgrain, green pepper, sage, incense, or vetiver notes from Cuba Silver Blue. Cuba Silver Blue works good for most situations that 212 Men can work for. That said, I really wouldn't make it a date fragrance. If you like 212 Men and only wear that, this will work for a gym, work or casual wearing version of it to extend your usage of 212 Men yet have it smell like your signature scent. I would wear it during spring and summer days. Cuba Paris Cuba Silver Blue is a decent 212 Men clone. I don't like 212 Men but I do like this but do not wear it all that much due to other fragrances. This is a decent fragrance. I rate Cuba Silver Blue a 6.4 out of 10. Now it is not a great Cuba release, but it is far from one of their worst.

Smells like 212. Maybe a bit less fresh in the aromatic notes. Opening is astringent synthetic but dry down is actually very nice. Unisex leaning to male. Inexpensive but of abysmal performance. Sillage is minimal, you'll smell it and that's about it unless someone gets really close to you. I can only detect it for about an hour. Maybe it can work as s gym scent, it definitely is a nice smell just one with terrible performance.
