Soliflore Mimosa

Mimosa is not a hardy plant, so cold-climate dwellers may not have as much familiarity with its scent. I've lived in cold climates all my life, but at Wave Hill, a delightful public garden in the Bronx, they have a beautiful old mimosa tree in the conservatory. One sniff of this fragrance transported me back to a visit when it was in bloom, perfuming the entire greenhouse. This beautifully realistic soliflore will no doubt transport you to wherever you know mimosa from, but even if you've never seen or smelled it in bloom, there's so much to like about this pretty, natural fragrance. At first spray, it had kind of an odd note that quickly dissipated into a literal interpretation. I love that about it and will definitely be wearing this one frequently. Would love a linden soliflore for us hardy plant enthusiasts!

I love mimosa note and this is a beautiful soliflore mimosa perfume. It's fresh, realistic and slightly waxy perfume. When I smell it a spring, full of gentle sunshine day comes to mind. Very potent, I have a spray version and one spray is actually enough. On the top of that it's very long lasting. I don't detect any honey like sweetness. It becomes a bit powdery on my skin. I think it's a must have for people who love mimosa. The only thing I don't like about it is its dark amber color. It's nothing like you see in pictures. Great quality perfume.

This doesn't smell like perfume. This smells like I rubbed an actual plant on my wrists; a warm, almond-tinged,waxy petal. This was included with other samples from Dame that I ordered, all of which were great, but I really fell in love with this one (and florals are usually not my jam). I've never smelled a mimosa flower. My loss.

Mimosa. Perfection in this soliflore from DAME. Nuanced, and beautiful. Going to use this in layering. Silage grows. I was testing Dark Horse on the other hand...and mimosa kept catching my nose... As a fellow AZ dweller, cant wait to try more DAME.Top notch!

This is so interesting! I'm glad I got to sample this lovely soliflore Mimosa. To me, this fragrance smells a little waxy, ripe, and pollinated. It smells floral and lovely. I can imagine those little yellow globes. -

Mimosa. I ordered a sample of this because I was on vacation recently and there was a mimosa tree on the property we stayed at, in full bloom, and every morning I would walk outside with my baby, enjoying the peace of the morning, and smell one of the blooms off the tree! I wanted to have a mimosa scent that would remind me of that special trip. This is a really nice mimosa scent, mixed with some powder, which I can also sense in application. I might need a full bottle :) Staying power is a few hours for me. Might I also add that I ordered a sample of the Mimosa scent from this perfumery (postcard sample program--see their website), and this company is AWESOME!!! DAME sent me a whole box with 4 total samples, wrapped really nicely, and plus a 10% off coupon!!!! I was back at their website same day, looking at some other things to consider for order. Great company!!! I do look forward to trying some more of their offerings, especially the Black Flower Mexican Vanilla and the New Musk perfumes :)

Dame Perfumery Soliflore Mimosa is the first offering from the Soliflore line that I've tried, and I generally don't dabble in floral-heavy offerings except for rose, so this is a bit odd to my nose. Clearly a fresh yellow floral, and inherently feminine, but it's not dazzling to me in any particularly special way. Medium performance, better than some of the other women's EDTs from the line, but uninspiring, at least to me as a man. Slightly interesting, though. I'll still be curious to try other Soliflores out. 6 out of 10

UPDATE: Perfect mimosa! A bit musky at first. But mimosa always has that effect on my skin. Dries down to a beautiful sunny scent. This will be perfect for summer. Thank you, Jeff. I'm going to wear this all day and then try the other soliflores. Looking forward to the experience! Ah, now this is one I would like to try. Mimosa is one of my favorite notes, but I so far I could only find scents that have this as one of the ingredients. Glad Jeff came up with the soliflore.

A lovely, simple-sweet scent - just what you'd expect from a soliflore fragrance, although I find this scent much sweeter than other mimosa-rich fragrances like L'Artisan's Mimosa Pour Moi, Cerruti 1881 Edition Blanche or Frederic Malle's Une Fleur de Cassie. In fact, there's a marzipan-like quality to the scent that makes me think of it as 'candied mimosa'. Lovers of lilac and/or almond scents who don't mind a bit of sweetness might also want to check this one out.

from a sample. Smells like a slightly sweet almond-y lilac... nice for warmer weather when you crave a clean floral and want a change from rose. Although marketed as unisex, I could imagine several guys struggling with it but not a problem for me. very uplifting and easy to wear.
