FOOTBALL AND EXQUISITE LEATHER SNEAKERS The David Beckham brand has always been associated with affordable perfumes that are easy to wear and generally very popular. But is that still the case? Exquisite Leather, launched in 2024, seems to mark a turning point for the brand, showcasing a more sophisticated approach and enhanced creativity. I identify three main influences in the creation of this fragrance: Eau d'Ombre Leather by Tom Ford, Babycat by Yves Saint Laurent, and 5 - Floral, Amber and Sensual Musk by Rosendo Mateu. The fragrance is leathery and sweet, and it is still being marketed by Coty. When I apply the fragrance, I first notice a spicy, peppery, lightly sweet, fruity scent that quickly mingles with leather and whisky notes. Floral and woody accords then come through. In the background, a green, mossy scent comes across, dry and powdery, twisting the fragrance to masculine side. Despite its near drugstore low price, I have discovered a surprisingly good gentleman's fragrance. I find it mildly mature and therefore suitable for wearers aged twenty-five and over. I can't imagine women wearing it, as it's quite masculine. Never theless it may also be a possibility. It seems quite fitting for colder days, and I will certainly be using it this autumn. It also appears to be quite versatile, and I can see it being worn either during the day or at night, with either a suit and bow tie or stained jeans, a T-shirt and a leather jacket. I can also picture me wearing it when I'm with my kids in the park, at a meeting in the office, or at a pub, bar, club or party. If you like spicy, peppery, slightly sweet, fruity, floral, green, mossy, dry and powdery masculine leather and whisky scents, this is the right one for you. And you don't need to like all the above-mentioned notes. And if you're on a budget, please do consider it. MY OPINION: This perfume presents you with a very nice dilemma. On the one hand, you have a low price and high quality. On the other hand, you have high quality at a low price. Either decision is a good one. First impressions: rugged (emphasis on rugged) hyper-masculine brown leather with a dark creamy resinous vanilla undertone. Hints of incense. The fragrance is moderately dark; winter and fall only. This is primarily a leather fragrance with vanilla as support. This is NOT a primarily vanilla fragrance like Rifaaqat/Babycat. Yes, I know there's no listed vanilla note. There are some distant similarities to Rifaaqat. It’s like Rifaaqat with the leather made to be the primary accord, rather than the vanilla. So take Rifaaqat, quadruple the leather accord so that it overtakes the vanilla, and make the leather accord more rugged and therefore a little jarringly masculine (like moderately-worn brown leather gloves rather than new brown leather jacket or bag). Very nice hyper-masculine leather, while having a sexy aspect via the vanilla, and still wearable without alienating everyone but it's pretty close to surpassing that threshold. It’s sexy but much too rugged for first dates. Much more rugged than Tom Ford Tuscan Leather (which isn't rugged), Ombre Leather (not rugged), or F*cking Fabulous (not rugged). Moderately more rugged than Memo Paris Italian Leather. Less rugged than Matiere Premiere Falcon Leather, which has a freakin gasoline-soaked-leather smell to me. I haven't gotten my nose on Rosendo Mateu No.5 yet, but I suspect it's more rugged than that but with some similarities. Honestly, this is probably more so a fragrance you'd wear with the boys, rather than amongst women - unless maybe you're an actual cowboy in a western. If you want a *rugged* brown leather, this may be one of the sexiest. Could definitely layer with Rifaaqat/Babycat to add much more vanillic brown leather to the Babycat DNA, which may be a very worthwhile reason to get this.

This smells to me exactly like Maison Alhambra 05, Domino Essence. The wierd part is I feel 05 is more unisex - it is weird because i'm smelling both at the same time and they smell identically to me, but at the same time somehow my mind is saying it is more unisex, go figure. (I wouldn't say feminine btw, just unisex. Beckham is definitely unisex leaning masculine, slightly but without a doubt.). Now both give me the feeling it's By The Fireplace but take the smoke out of it, really. Also I believe Exq.L. is variation of Rifaqaat based on opinions, so 05 would be as well, but maybe closer because it gives more Unisex vibe? Don't know rifaqaat myself. Btw exq leather stains cloths like shit. 05 is lighter in colour but the paper looked like it might be staining as well - haven't tested yet though.

To me, the similarities between this and Eau d'Ombre Leather are pretty uncanny, with the TF being a bit more rich, deep and round. The only major differences are the presence of the raspberry note being slightly more artificial and the leather note being less suede like and more piercing in the Beckham. Pretty decent for being from a sport's ball fragrance house. The projection and wake is adequate for it's price point, longevity is quite good as well. IMO an easy blind buy if you enjoy fragrances that are in this wheelhouse.

I’m a 40yo woman and I love wearing this fragrance. It starts off with a very strong leather and campfire vibe that I don’t really enjoy, but after 20-30 minutes it dries down to a soft, sweet incense that smells exactly like Nag Champa. Very much a unisex fragrance in my opinion, and I encourage anyone who enjoys incense scents to give it a go.

I love this perfume, but I got used to the scent too quickly, and the light notes quickly fade away in everyday life. The scent lasts a very long time, it is beautiful, as I mentioned, light, sweet, and captivating. I would also like to say that I am not too much of a connoisseur.

This is damn good.... if you are a fan of maison criveli Oud stallion you can get this , cheaper with decent longevity and more sweeter but still with same scent DNA. especially with the opening but the drydown is very smooth compared to maison which i find cloying at times.

Good value for the price i was surprised with performance and the note's. Smell rich a lot of leather with touches of sweet and roses i mixed it with othere roses or sweet perfume to break the heavy leather. smell great. Definitely for older ages !over all great perfume.

I love this so much and I never even liked leather that much, i smell cocoa and fruity woods with deeper undertones of orris. I sprayed twice on my neck wearing a chain, that chain still smells quite strong of this parfume 9 hours later? Quality is surprisingly amazing.

David Becham scored again from long distance even the rivals are all stars. This one almost niche very nice scent long lasting and good silage. It is heavy leather with some vanilla and sweet at background not bad at all for the price.

This scent really surprised me! Really good....powdery leather! Goes close to Oud save de King Atkinsons but without the oud note! Performance is medium! Definitely I will buy a bottle for my collection!

Absolutely phenomenal, especially for the price. Smells niche. A great significant aura scent for about 5-6 hours before needing reapplication. Priced absolutely wonderfully. Love it!

Smells like a mix between babycat and amouage interlude. Very good and long lasting. Edit: After maceration this is now ridiculously good for the price. A real hidden gem.

This is hot, although it's quite close to Ben Sherman cologne and Tom Ford's Ombre Leather. I'd buy it(just huffed it at Shopper's Drug Mart).

Blind bought this for dirt cheap(12€) with no expectations and no prior knowledge of the scent. My god how pleasantly i was suprised. Its giving YSL Babycat. Ive had the Paris Corner dupe of Babycat, but this one i like more its less powdery and more leathery. Im not a big fan of sweet leather perfumes like Babycat so this one is still a 5-6/10 but if you like that kind of scent profile i cant think of a better scent at this price range. Solid 5-6h with good projection and 3 days on clothes

Hey frag heads, good day; nice to meet y'all; Im new to the community. This is my first blind buy I had done. totally went by reviews and loved it. Love the smell, its warm, its comforting and lasts pretty well. I sometimes overspray it in morning (but not recommended to do in a room), can still smell it on skin in the evening (If smelled up close). The smell stays on clothes even till the next day.

David Beckham Exquisite Leather definitely smells like Perris Corner Rifaaqat (which I own) and YSL Babycat. I’m a woman and I wear it; I love it. I wear it in autumn and winter. It has a smoky quality—like incense—but not the churchy kind or campfire smoke. It’s an inexpensive 100ml EDP (€27)—a real hidden gem, almost niche-quality. Very unisex...!!

I just gave this a sniff as I saw it being put out on the shelves at Shoppers Drug Mart and was very pleasantly surprised by it. Definite Rifaaqat vibes and a bit unisex, maybe more masculine leaning than Rifaaqat. I didn't have time to give it a wear test or anything, but my interest is piqued.

Dark sweetish leather, which after a few hours turns into the most linear but pleasant vanilla. I like this scent, even if it is quite predictable: it would seem nothing new, but with a price of 17 euros, only Arabic perfumes would be more affordable.

a masculine woody-leather fragrance with a dry, slightly earthy vibe. It smells decent and does the job for the affordable price, but it does have a synthetic edge that can get a bit annoying over time. Overall, okay value, just not something id want to wear all day. 5/10

I guess that for the price is a nice fragrance, I personally smell a lot of vanilla especially on my skin. Longevity is nice too, several hours on the skin and I can still smell it on the shirt I had on.

I see a lot of people comparing this to some sort of TF Ombre Leather but can this almost as a reverse Ombre Leather. It comes at you leather heavy and then the lighter florals later with the oud/leather lingering throughout. As a fan of Ombre Leather wanting to keep my two bottles for as long as possible, I'm always looking for a worthy clone. I don't like this at all. Some will like it. Passerbys might like it and possibly think it's OL but those that know, will know this ain't it. If you're on a budget and looking for something a little bit similar go for it, I recommend saving up and getting the OG because it's magnificent.

Smells like leathery cock, masculine but in a bad way. Buy other leather fragrances. This is ofc mid like the other beckham fragrances

People say it doesn't smell like babycat. As someone obsessed with babycat, I am torn. This is probably the closest thing I've smelled to it next to the DUA dupe for it. HOWEVER, I will say the uniformity of this perfume is so off though. The bottle I have, smelled like babycat. Smelled a second in store and it's way more leathery. And a third separate bottle in store that actually just smells like straight up whiskey. Guess I'll have to smell my bottle again. Maybe I'll have to bite the bullet and get the ysl 😣 So good luck if you plan on blind buying lol hopefully you like whatever "version" you get. I straight up gate keep this fragrance lol but every time I show it to someone, 3/5 times they buy it.

this smells nothing like rafiquaat or babycat. Not even close. If you have both they are far from similar. . I prefer this one
