Follow Your Instinct

Looks like nobody has written a review yet so I’ll take the first stab at it. To be honest there really isn’t much to this and I was looking for a good cheapie to throw in my rotation. Sadly, this ain’t the one. The box says limited edition, like it’s something special lol. You get the orange up top but it doesn’t last. The mid and the dry down come pretty quick. The star anise blends well with the spice of the cardamom, and when there dry down hits, you’re left with a very faint amount of vetiver and patchouli. The amber is so faint it’s non-existent. This stuff smells decent enough, but within 20 minutes you’ve already gone on the whole journey. By 30 minutes this stuff is gone. If you’re looking for a decent David Beckham cheapie to add in your rotation, try David beckham Classic Blue. The pineapple in that one is really nice. Trust me, I wouldn’t steer you wrong. This is a 3/10 for me, it’s underperforms in every way possible. Save your money please. UPDATE: I decided to come back and add to my review. I also decided to leave my original review up and just add to it. I wanted to allow others to see the turnaround. This is a classic case of not allowing enough time to pass, and experimenting with this stuff in different situations and weather. I was wrong about this stuff, and I’m more than happy to admit my fast judgement. The more I wear this, especially in the heat, the more I realized this is pretty close to the now hard to find Zara Soft Haze, which is also a clone of Creed Silver Mountain water. This is not an exact clone by any means, but I was wrong about this stuff. It’s playful, light, and has a fruit loops vibe going on. It’s won’t win any awards, but for the price I paid, I’m happy with what it does. This would make a great starting point for a beginner or a great gym scent for someone. I’m bumping this up to a 6/10. It’s just a little above average and I would buy another bottle if I couldn’t find Zara Soft haze.

Spicy citruses with some patchouli, at least this is what I get, apply 50 sprays because this juice is not going to last, even on clothes... Very much like YSL L'homme!!

I always buy a bottle of Instinct flankers because my late father wore the original for the last 14 years of his life. This one is rather nice, reminds me of YSL’s L’homme with a distinct emphasis on mandarin orange that is quickly joined by soft, slightly powdery “white” amber and what I perceive as ginger. The ginger is not listed, I suspect I may be smelling what is described as star anise and spice, since ginger typically has both facets. I get no vetiver, cardamom or patchouli, at least not as they present in niche perfume. This only has a fraction of the mature vibe of the original, but nonetheless, enough to be recognisably a flanker. Longevity is fairly stellar with generous application
