Adventure

One of the guys I used to work with years ago wore this - I’d always notice it after his lunchtime workout. As others have commented, Adventure is an ideal gym fragrance. Good office fragrance too: pleasant and inoffensive, albeit fleeting - it’s a classy little number that reminds me (visually more than anything else) of the now-discontinued Kanon Agarwood which was a similar colour and had a similar style of woodiness (except Adventure is infinitely nicer). Seems to smell a bit different on me to how I remember it on my friend, and maybe it’s reformulation, but unlike him, I am neither young, nor fit. One of the things I really like about Adventure is that although it feels familiar in style I cannot identify any of the notes - my olfactory system tells me I like them but doesn’t recognise them and is unable to identify what they are. To my mind that “I don’t know what it is but I like it” quality helps Adventure stand out in an overcrowded marketplace. While it lasts, Adventure is fantastic - opens with a classic citrus overture, then becomes a linear, full-bodied, woody blend that performs well for about an hour. Then it fades. It would be awesome if only it had better longevity. Still, it’s a stylish variation on a classic gentleman’s woody fragrance that represents excellent value for money. Got a 100ml tester for less than twenty bucks. Adventure is an elegant, stylish woody fragrance that could easily be worn by any member of the Gens Humana irrespective of crotch configuration. I reckon it’s a safe blind buy too. If you happen to be in the market for a straightforward but stylish gym fragrance, office fragrance, or just a quality cheapie (and not fussed about crappy performance) you could do worse.

I'm only gonna comment one thing because the concept and the blend of the scent is really nice and changes quite rapidly. The case is longevity. I mean, is the trade-off here to buy new bottles as a refill? The longevity is under one hour if you spray it on exposed skin. Under clothes it lasts about decent 4 hours, so it will definitely get you through a work day or a party, but you will not notice much of it. You need definitely a person that comes close to your skin to get a compliment, unless you just sprayed it on you one minute before your encounter. You don't produce a breeze of a nice warm scent behind you. The sillage is weak, and suddenly you understand why it may be considered cheapy. I guess the frustration goes to the fact that you go "Oh this smells really good", and then in 30 minutes time and onward, you ask yourself "What happened, where is it?". The bottle I have is 100 ml, and with this rate of longevity I will have to spray so much that it will not last more than three months.

I just had to register to comment on projection. I know how a scent can vary on different skins, but in my case this one is extreme. I got three new to try this evening, ended up on only noticing one.... One spray on each hand (Davidoff on one of my hands) and one further up on my arm. In order to notice the other two I had to put my nose on the skin. I was sitting in a cloud of Davidoff Adventure. Still going just as strong four hours later. I tried to wash that hand several times but I can't get the scent off (positive). I love it, warm, sensual, nothing I would wear at work (all male colleagues) unless I had a client meeting. Parties, dinners, evenings.. Can't wait to wear it. To me it's a lot like D&G Pour Homme. This one is a keeper, and as an extra bonus, I too ride an adventure motorcycle (as Ewan McGregor from the commercial ).

I love Adventure very much, it is hot & spicy with full of nice herby aromatic scent! A very well blended and complex fragrance with so many different herbs yet not over power to annoy others! Opening with a mild freshness with hints of citrus and very mild pepper scent. After about half an hour, the real gem is here! The spiciness of chili and aromatic sesame raise your desire to the maximum level~ You feel it real warm and passionate! It last for hours and the last woody note is here to calm your heat down and slow down your desire~ you have now experience a wonderful adventure with this truly amazing bottle! 8.5/10 Perfect for fall/winter season~ Lasting power & sillage is superb, 5 hours plus on me. Try it on and try imagine the greatest adventure you have, I have mine with this~

To me one of the most versatile and underrated fragrances. Both, my father (59 yo) and my younger brother (25 yo) can wear this equally good. Also, it suits almost every occasion (apart from maybe very special like wedding, christmas etc.) ranging from office/work to dating/night out. Therefore, its constant candiate in my rotation. Despite its versatility, its not generic, at least to me. I love the spicy/sweet citrus combination of mandarine orange and pepper/vetiver. I also get hints of leather in the drydown. AND its super cheap. In germany its about 25€/100ml. If you are looking for a safe and cheap present for christmas etc, buy it! Considering the price the performance is imho OK. On my skin the longevity is sufficient for a complete work day. The sillage is rather weak tho.
