I love reading the comments on Fragrantica, they are all over the place from the worst hate to the most loved. You can’t go by what you read. Let’s face it perfume makers are not out to put stink on the market. So with that said, here is my opinion. This opens extremely citrus, a blast, almost reminds me of a margarita. It takes quite a decent time to get to the base notes. And the it becomes a smooth earthy wood scent. I think this could work most of the year unless you are going to be outside for a long period of time in the winter. For my nose the blast of citrus in the opening smells very natural very lemon/lime, I don’t get synthetic at all. I also laugh when terms like generic and synthetic are used. What’s generic smell like? Do we need classifications of generic? When it comes to synthetic people even the most niche perfumers use synthetics, ok I’m sure there are quality difference in the suppliers of the synthetic fragrance, but most non citrus fruit fragrances are synthetic take apples, currents, or raspberries no oils there! Anyway this is a decent men’s cologne and it is quit different from start to finish, making it non-linear, hey not everyone likes the same smells, food or drinks, so with that said, if I don’t care for a cologne I won’t bash it It’s not for me or my skin chemistry. But this one is really nice.

My Bros, don’t believe the bad reviews. I’ll bet those guys don’t even lift. This is some legit gym juice. The bottle says it all. I mean you can actually CURL this cologne bottle! This is a spicy, herbal green, bracing, slightly grounding, fresh and soapy scent. This scent is manly enough to give you +10 strength on deadlifts and squats. This fragrance is the scent that iron makes when it sweats (just kidding). Seriously, I recommend this as a pre-workout fragrance. It will initially help to motivate you to go workout. Then, if you use this fragrance only for working out, your brain will associate working out with this scent. After a while, smelling this scent will automatically tell your brain you need to go workout. This little trick can help you get to the gym, even if you are not in the mood. Okay, so this will project strongly on clothes, so go light on the sprays. On skin, it starts out strong, but quickly turned into a lighter soapy scent, and then out of nowhere it starts performing again in a way that is similar to the start. The freaking fragrance did a drop set. I kid you not.

I like this. It's more complex than I expected, and it conjures a mental image of gym/teen/frat boy/young male sexuality. It's a little loud for a modern scent, but also not quite in control of its prowess, unlike old powerhouse scents. Champion also made me realize I love the smell of Iso E Super. For years I used to buy fragrances that fans and online communities approved of, but my own nose was always better pleased by these products, which these people put down. They'd say this is boring,derivative,bad...but I always have a more visceral, more authentic reaction to scents like this, and I get more compliments with them over those other frags that are supposed to be classics. So thank you Davidoff Champion, for helping me to finally turn this corner. I'm okay with the bottle but it's not convenient. I wish I knew how to detach the bottom.

Oh, and one more thing. Many people bash on it saying it's generic. Uhm, show me one fragrance smelling EXACTLY like Champion. Only one please. I guess you'll have a problem! In my humble opinion Champion is unique in its own way. I swear it's the first "sporty" fragrance that I smelled so much herbs in! OK, maybe second, after Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne Sport. Chanel is better in quality - I totally agree with that, but Champion is NOT bad. Straight opposite! As a cheap fragrance it's good. And absolutely worth its price. Actually I wouldn't doubt to pay more for it if it was more expensive. As I said before, I don't like the bottle. But it's not about the bottle. It's about the fragrance. And this fragrance will also be a stable in my collection.

If you're judging this perfume just looking at the bottle, you must be out of your mind... This one is not a typical citrusy scent. It's much more complex. On my skin it is mainly citrusy, but after some time I swear I feel the herbal-woody accent added to it. It's getting more serious, even classy I would say! Each time I wear it, I get compliments from girls! And its lasting time and power are impressive. 5 sprays and you can easily detect Champion on your skin after 10 hours. Personally, what I like in it, is that it's hated all over the world, because no one around smells like me. And each time I wear it, I swear I get a lot of compliments! The best from Davidoff's men scents to me. Definitely I love it!

In aromatherapy clary sage is one of those sleep-inducing, blood-pressure-reducing aromas. When you realize that you know they can't be serious about the name and the bottle. That's some kind of tongue-in-cheek, kitschy humor, or perhaps the scent is painting the abstract pictures we get when those of us who enjoy men dream about stereotypical men in the gym. I like this a lot, and I think it revolves around clary sage more than the citrus. This is a formula that embraces its syntheticity and is all the better for it. One of my favorite scents.

champion opens with fresh bergamot and lemon that energizes your mind then clary sage takes your mind to more freshness of mountains and in last the cedar takes u to jungle full of woods. for me well priced fragrance,citrusy and woody thats what one needs for relaxing. a good projection for 3-4 hours on clothes longevity lasts for 3-4 days. and yeah the bottle gives u the confidence of arnold schwaznager. everything physical and mental are attached with it. An excellent piece from davidoff.your money will not be wasted i assure u that.

I was with a group of friends when this smell hit me in the air. A very fresh, green, uplifting fougere, super appealing sillage. I couldn't resist to ask the man what he was wearing. I couldn't believe it when he said "yeah it's that dumbbell bottle, Davidoff I think". All my life I've been averse on this (what i thought, mediocre releases by Davidoff). Was I wrong. This is a must have, what a wonderful sillage gentlemen. Try it for yourselves and thank me latter. Don't listen to the haters.

OK, I guess I can say I understand why people say that Champion is synthetic. IMO it's about its top and heart notes. I swear to me it's natural citruses and herbs, but mixed together once when I wore it I felt like I'm wearing some chemical mess on me. Luckilly that didn't last too long. And I think it smells really nice in COLD weather. Best time to wear it is fall and early spring IMO. I was wearing it in winter also, but I prefer wearing gourmand fragrances in this season.

Champion Davidoff for men is simply a very good one from Davidoff , ( elegant , powerful ) simply very nice ( lemon, begramot , cedar and oak moss ) well balanced in my humble opinion it's suitable for any where ( i know that Davidoff is aiming to be a gym freg but i can imagine my self wearing it in every place which is a goooooood advantage ). Scent : 7/10. Longevity : up to 10 hours. Sillage : 5 hours. Bottle Design : should be like silver shadow line.

What i get from Champion is not a regular citrus, nor an "after gym" fresh fragrance... what i get is a "Barber Shop" relaxing overwhelming smell ... I get the feeling of "just showered and shaved" cleanliness ...so nice and very unique IMO Most reviews say it's for teenagers, i think it depends on the occasion, yes i see a teenager wearing it to the club, but i definitely see a mid-thirties man (like me) wearing it on the weekend or on a family day out .

I'm surprised they don't sell this in local drug stores any more where I got ot go through all this extra effort to buy it online. I got a ton of complements from this cologne. it lasted a very long time and it stood out compared to other colognes I had in the past. Not a clue how to describe this one. A darker version of Axe marine perhaps? lots of grapefruit or citrus. If you spray too much on (like 3 sprays) I find it gets very sickly.

i prefer citrus top notes with base notes of oak moss, cedar or musk. this one fits the bill. i loved it. it doesn't change much from its top notes, which do not cloy nostrils. i can trace its presence, though weak, after about 6 hours on my skin. if you are looking for something less complex yet refreshing, this one may suffice. and yes, i prefer this to its descendent Champion Energy.

Before buy, I was reading a lot of negative reviews here and basenotes about this scent. Despite bad reviews I decided to try Champion. Maybe something wrong with me, but I've found it has have "something" pleasanr what makes me fresh and happy. I like very subtle middle notes. On my skin this fragrance lasts about 5-8 hours. It's one of the best spring/summer scents I have.

This is basically, a kind of TDH sport. Now, the only difference really is that every single woman from the office, simply love this one, while they can't stand TDH. Lasts a long time on me, and projects very well. Now, coming back to the why women love it so much, no idea....but try it please, and let me know the results. It's absurd!!.

Yeah this a basic and easy to reach for type of scent but in the dry down you get a slight fruitiness that lingers and comes out at you every 5 or 10 minutes and it's nice. I think this is a fantastic gym scent and that's what it is. It serves it's purpose. If you want something daring and complex go elsewhere.

Picked this up for $5 at a thrift store and it has instantly skyrocketed to my top 5 best fragrances of all time. Despite the many others saying it’s not a good hot weather/summer scent, I disagree and think it’s fresh enough for summer without smelling synthetic. Absolutely would recommend as a safe blind buy.

I love Davidoff Champion my self, i don't think that its sporty i think its more classy but still i love Davidoff and it has a cool name Davidoff Champion. :)

Never found a male scent I've loved more.

I remember getting this when it came out and 100+ fragrances later from just about every price point. I still really like this without any form of nostalgia. The only difference is I found the earlier batches stronger in the opening but by the dry down it's about the same as I got to try a recently made bottle and I don't understand why so many people dislike this. Is it a masterpiece? Not by any means, but compare that to something polarizing like Bentley For Men Intense or Paris Corner- Rifaaqat. I guess some teenager with an awful broccoli haircut who didn't get their usual ultra sweet, questionably masculine fragrance or the latest aventus clone the internet swears is currently the most accurate take on it would get upset. The marketing on this I feel was a failure. This is not a gym scent to me. This is a night out with friends type fragrance more than anything. It's something you could put on with little to no thought with the right confidence regardless of the time of year or situation. Unless it's extremely hot out. Age wise 30s and up. I wouldn't wear this to the gym or on a first date. Longevity and projection are what you'd usually expect from something in the non-Arabic $15-20 price point so go nuts, put 5-10 sprays on. There's at least 1000 in a 100ml bottle, you're not going to choke anyone out unless it's a hot car ride with the windows up. Everything blends together quite well. Words I'd use are dark and spicy, the grapefruit comes off slightly sweet but it supports the other notes. The grapefruit doesn't go into "For her" territory like Paco Rabanne - Invictus EDT (2013). This fragrance is simple, it's very linear. As in, it won't change significantly. The only thing close to a concern I'd have looking at the notes is the cedar, thankfully it doesn't come off like pencils. With some imagination, this reminds me of a lower quality version of Issey Miyake - Nuit D'Issey (EDT) due to how the spices and citrus are used and it's a similar atmosphere. If you like one you'll like the other. The opening of Nuit D'Issey is a bit powdery, but by the dry down they are similar. People could possibly think of this as a night time version of the very overpriced Parfums De Marley - Percival how the citrus just "sparkle", both give off the same feel throughout the wear to me. Of the two this is more Nuit D'Issey EDT. If it's got to be a Davidoff For the gym - try some form of Cool Water, there's seemingly endless versions to try For date night or the club - Brilliant Game comes to mind, not sure if they still make it but it'll scratch that sweet, diabetic fragrance fad itch. Think of a less sweet, more leathery One Million (EDT), or possibly a much lower quality cumin (caraway seeds) free version of Viktor & Rolf - Spicebomb Extreme.

well look, firstly the bottle is definitely a statement bottle. Big, bold and exemplifies values which i don't quite think the scent lives up to. *edit* changing my review here. Been wearing this all day and just did a run/swim. Really really impressed with the performance and the smell. (At first glance) Its a very generic non-descript scent - citrus opening, maybe lemon. Dry down is ok but the scent (is just nothing special), and doesn't project well either as a skin scent (I always tend to shower before every scent I review here). *Edit* the scent is definitely a great performer and the pineapple comes to the fore along with the wood. Its actually more interesting on my clothes, on fabric, the scent is a lot better with more of the Galbanum and Oakmoss coming out. Tbh, its slightly reminiscent of Sauvage on my clothes (but thats not a good thing for me). *Edit* but it comes into its own after a few hours with something much more intense that Dior's offering. Its just like all Davidoff scents really, mediocre, not overpriced, bold bottles. I guess its just very superficial - its versatile in the summer and at work on a hot day. Its kind of a gift for your brother in law really - not expensive, safe and probably will be left unused anyway so no great loss. Reading through the comments - women should never buy aftershave for men, they really tend to buy it for themselves - thats why they like bad stuff - i doubt this is a masculine scent, its almost unisex but for the sporty tomboy girl e.g. triathletes. - it definitely takes a while for the base notes to come out but those notes are underwhelming - its not an "activewear" scent, i exercise regularly and i'd prefer a "blue" scent like Cool Water to this - its definitely a generic safe scent, but its so linear you could make it good by spritzing on CK One too *Edit* the best of this scent is definitely in the drydown. It just takes a very long time to dry down. I'm pleased by the longevity of this scent.

عطری خوشبو ، روزانه و با سبک بوی کمی متفاوت از دیگر کارهای خنک وقتی برای بار اول عطر رو استشمام کنید حالتی چوبی همانند چوب سدر که کمی شور وتم چوبی تند و تیز داره رو حس خواهید کرد به همراه این نت ، لاوندر یا استوخودوس با تمی آروماتیک و تند گون شما رو همراهی میکنند در کنار این دو رایحه مشخص لیمو رو خواهیم داشت . در این لحظه شما یه رایحه خنک ، ترش و تلخ و کمی تند رو حس خواهید کرد که اصلا خاص نیست و حتما شبیه این نوع عطرارو قبلا تست یا خرید کرده اید در ادامه کم کم حالت تند گون لاوندر محو میشه و رفته رفته یه نت جدید همراهیتون میکنه این نوع رایحه منو یاد یه چند تا برگ و گیاه میندازه ولی نمیدونم دقیقا چه نتی هستش این نوع رایحه رو در عطر تاور شماره 3 و 7 تجربه کردم همین طور که پیش میره نت های مرکباتی محو میشند وشما فقط ترکیبی از سدر و همین برگ خاص رو خواهید داشت علت دیسلایک هاییم که خورده شک نکنید به خاطر همین نت هستش پس قبل خرید یادتون باشه شما باید حداقل به این عطر 30 دقیقه وقت بدید تا خودشو و مخصوصا اون نت عجیب علف گون خودش رو نشون بده و بعد تصمیم بگیرید ماندگاری متوسط و پخش رو به ضعیفی داره

If I had to explain this scent to someone, I'd say it's a mix of Dior Sauvage, Drakkar Noir, and Gucci Guilty. The first time I smelled this, I couldn't stand it! It never touched my skin. It went directly to my bottom shelf. After a year of wearing (and learning to appreciate) more manly scents, like Club De Nuit Intense Man, I gave this another chance, and now suddenly I like this one. Really?! How is it even possible?! Either way, this is pretty good and women DO like it! It smells VERY MASCULINE. It's similar to Drakkar or Sauvage, like I said. It especially smells like Sauvage, up-close on skin. I can't tell you to run out and get this one. It's not a masterpiece by any means, but it is surprisingly decent and women notice it and really seem to like it. I will say, however, that you may hate it at first sniff, like I did. I don't see this being anyone's favorite, but if you run across a bottle of this on the cheap ($10 NIB on eBay right now) it might be worth a sniff.

I hate the IFRA. Who cares if someone is allergic to a natural ingredient. Forrests are natural. Are we going to ban those too? Oh and flowers, I know many people with allergies to certain ones. Are we going to tell mother nature to limit the number of flowers on the planet. Its travesty. I'll tell you whats cancer causing, its the synthetics. The synthetics which are supposedly safer are probably the only thing that's bad for you. But at least you wont be allergic right? Instead you'll just die a slow and miserable toxic death from the cancer caused by synthetics chemical aromas.lol I dont think there should be any regulations. If Lady Gaga can put a toxic flower in her perfume, (belladonna), then everyone should just be able to do as they please. F the IFRA.

I just got this today. At first I thought that it will smell similar to Mont Blanc Legend, so I decided to test it side by side. After the test, I can tell that Davidoff Champion and Mont Blanc Legend smell different. Champion has more woody + oakmoss vibes while Legend tend to be a fresher scent with a little touch of sweetness. I don't like Legend at all. Champion may smell generic, but I think it still has some depth compare to Legend. Longevity is good on my skin, about 6-10 hours. Sillage is good for first 2 hours, after that it will become softer and closer to skin. I don't like the bottle, not very convenient to hold, and the bottle design is not very good. The 30ml bottle has a better design.

Interesting, this was my first ever fragrance that I purchased after smelling it on a customer as a student. I really liked it so asked broski what it was. It's been a good 8 years since I've worn it so can't remember what it was like, but I found a bottle and bought it for a blast from the past It does have a synthetic lemon opening like a cleaning product but within 10 minutes, the earthy notes start coming through. It's funny, I'm not a big fan of sage but it's fine here, not overwhelming and I suppose it does add to the uniqueness of the fragrance.

I agree with the view that Champion smells like Issey Miyake Nuit d'Issey (or Cool Water Reborn EdT), but in this case the Bleu Astral version. Great value for money. Performance is just about ok. Novelty bottle in 90 ml guise looks better in the flesh than you might think. Great for the gym/sport and does draw compliments. Versatile enough to be used as an everyday fragrance too.

It's not great, but it's good. Versatile. Masculine. Easy to ware. Can be used in any season, any situation, office or party, or gym and outdoor, casual shopping etc. Not super expensive, not super cheap. I like it. It's not heavy, smooth, harsh, or light. The dumbbell look of the bottle gives an impression of gym kinda thing, but you can use it any time.

I had really high hopes for this but I was so let down. The scent itself smells really good although I don't think it smells like Egoist or Legend. This thing stands on its own two feet. Sadly, this has gone the path that so many new releases go with their very poor longevity and projection. I got 2 hours out of this and thats it. Why? Why? Why?

I had purchased this long ago. I thought I merely like it but nothing more. Until today when i tried it again. This time i thought what the hell, and poured it on thick. And now i am reminded why i like it but do not love it. HOWEVER, that being said, i am finding that i LIKE it, more then i thought i did before, if that makes any sense...

I went crazy for this thing when I first smelled it, may be it was new - Its Clean, sporty, energetic and somehow formal too kinda a thing. Long Lasting. I think its not very much formal but should be used in office, meetings etc. Citrus lovers can go blind buy for it, it wont disappoint and will get you lots of compliments as well.

Won't win points for originality, but starts out fresh and sporty, then gets warmer and woodier. I actually like it. The very unfavorable rating the Champion is getting on here made me expect something worse/cheaper/more offensive smelling. Maybe it's just too mainstream for die-hard fragrance lovers?

So much bad review here about Champion, i wonder why? i find it very pleasant, yeah it's not original, but it's still good, i love it :) I like the idea of the bottle, very unique, but i hate it why it's very thin? why it made from plastic? it would be perfect if it was made by steel.

i use this after a gym session, nice mix of lemon and herbs and the drydown sweetens. it was on special at a local store so i bought it, knowing it had a unique bottle but not knowing the smell. i dont regret it as it was extremely cheap and its very different to my other colognes

Did not like this when 1st used it, bottle sat on my shelf for 4 months till I used it again and was very pleased 2nd time around, I also received a couple of compliments on it that day. I think my 1st opinion on it was it was so cheap in price had to be bad .

It's very weak, which is a shame, because I really like the opening, the first minutes. If anyone has a suggestion for a similar smell, like the opening, but longer lasting,please share.The good points are that it is simple, masculine and very fresh.

قنبلة الحمضيات التي في بداية العطر أصابتني بالتوتر بسبب إني رششت العطر وأنا أرتدي ملابسي كعادة أي شخص. ولكن هذا العطر يجب رشه على الملابس قبل ارتدائها ب١٥ دقيقه على الاقل. ولكن بصفة عامة فقد أحببته بسبب أنه يشعرك بالنظافة و الإنتعاش طوال مدة ارتداؤه.

Just bought a bottle attracted to its dumbell like shape but later i found though this is themed for gym or sportzz..it does formal too. A decent frag with 2 - 3.30 hrs projection after which it becomes a skin scent.. Will i buy it again: ya..

Really fresh and invigorating fragrance. Used to wear it when going to the gym. Not really special or exciting, like most Davidoff fragrances, but it’s good nonetheless. However, longevity is below average, does have some performance issues

It's simple and not too generic. I like predominant citrusy-green edgy vibe. Masculine, confident in peaceful manner. Good at any age, and not only for sportsman. Woody base smells classic.

The drydown on this one reminded me quite a lot of the drydown from Platinum Egoiste: woody, herbal, mossy and somewhat dry. No wonder they share 4 notes in common. I liked it.

I decided to have a whiff of this at the store, and it seriously left this indelible mark on mark on me, making me want to buy this. Too bad, I've 'got no cash. :(

Champion has been much inspired by Chanel egoiste platinum! Good cheapie with a tacky bottle 🍼 but not stirred!

Gym bro vibes. Definetly not generic. It smells like a bubblegum. Not very masculine. Almost unisex.

smells cheap and dated in my opinion.

Lot of citrus in the opening but that's fine. Becomes a little green fresh scent after some time. Very generic smelling super boring perfume. Performance is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE for me as it projects for around 30 mins and lasts from 1 to 3 hours on skin. There are thousands of better perfumes than this from the house of Armaf, lattafa, afnan which have way better fragrance and performance. So save your 30 dollars and do not buy this at all.

HAve to agree with EVERYONE so far lol When i saw the bottle i thought yep, another Hummer type concept, it's supposed to be butch and empowering, it just feels like a ploy for popularity amongst teenagers. Dont get me wrong, it smelt nice enough, but how nice? Not nice enough that I : -would pay AU$89 for it. -would feel sorry for anybody who pays for it. Seems the bottle has ruined it before anyone got to smell it.
