Cool Elixir

Marketing is everything. It makes complete sense for Davidoff to match this up with Cool Water as a flanker, as Cool Water is really Davidoff’s only presence in the modern fragrance market. It is, however, very misleading. This would more properly be labeled as a flanker of Zino. And how excited would some of us have been had we learned that we were getting Zino Elixir, instead of a Cool Water variant? And wouldn’t that make so much more sense for the scent profile? But, alas, Zino is a beloved dinosaur, beloved by a select crowd of frag heads, and not at all attractive to a more modern public. If you picture instead a Zino flanker, however, everything about this scent makes more sense. At it’s base is the classic lavender/pachouli combination. Not dusty, but a tad powdery, bringing to mind a possible violet leaf hint. The lavender is not soapy, it is not really a barber shop lavender. It’s freshened up by a hint of mint. I can detect no oud, and it doesn’t come off particularly woody to me, though there is some cedar there. The real star is the rose, a metallic (some describe it as ozonic) rose that is present from spray on to dry down. This is a masculine scent, the metallic nature keeps it away from any hint of a grandmother scent. It does, however, trigger an intense memory from childhood of a cute little shop carrying preserves, the kind with a section for doilies and Christmas decorations. So, while it’s undoubtedly masculine, grandma would probably like it on you too. On my skin the projection is very good, and it is extremely long lasting. It is a very linear scent, it’s lengthy dry down does not wander from the scent profile on first spray. For me, this is one of the stand out releases of 2025, and what a surprise coming from Davidoff. I only wish in my heart of hearts that it had been in a metallic crimson bottle with the name Zino Elixir in that classic script. It seems to have not made the impact that it, frankly, deserves. I wonder if the uniqueness of a new Zino flanker could have been a better marketing move after all?

I grabbed a bottle of Cool Elixir a few weeks ago now that the price has come down more in line with what I like to pay for a Davidoff fragrance. I am very impressed with this release overall! The low rating on here is evidence that the majority of users just vote based on brand names or what the online influencers say without trying anything themselves. Cool Elixir is a bold, dark, and aromatic scent that pivots away from the original aquatic DNA into a mature, resinous evening-focused scent profile. I am hooked on the prominent metallic rose, lavender, and oud accords that you pick up through the mid and drydown. I also don't understand ppl saying this is weak. Since the first time spraying it, I get a very strong performance with 10–12 hours of longevity. The sillage trail is heavy, but the parfum concentration makes this sit closer around a 2 foot bubble. It's not a room filler, so you can wear this to work if you keep it down to 3 sprays. I have worn Cool Elixir to work a couple times so far, but it can easily be used as an evening out/date night scent. Going out I would spray this 5 to 6 times to beef up the power if you want to stand out a bit more. This is a versatile scent profile for the fall and winter as long as you spray accordingly. As of right now, I was able to get a 1.7oz bottle on Jomashop for $36, which is an incredibly great price for the quality you are getting. If this was bottled under a more popular designer brand, you would be lucky to find it for less than $70.

So I live in the tropics and the first time wearing this was hot and humid. I went easier on the sprays than what I usually do with two sprays on my sleeves and one spray on the front and back of my shirt (I sweat too much to spray on skin). Rainy day so went to the shopping centre and within 10min had my first comment from a bloke who asked what it was because he wanted some. My second comment was from a woman who said is smells familiar and really nice, I think she thought it was Savage, her English wasn't great. Anyway compared to Savage I find this very much wearable in a hot and humid environment without offending everyone around you. Was a definite boost to get some good comments right out the gate. The lavender is the most forward scent I can smell but smooth and creamy lavender with the Rose blending with the woody notes for a really nice balanced fragrance. I wouldn't go as far to say its an Oud but more of a dialed back version, closer to a Cedar than an Oud to me. I can see this as a really safe scent that can be worn day, night, winter or summer. To me this smells smooth, rich and inviting. I will be wearing this regularly out of my 60+ collection oc fragrences.

I remember seeing a review from ChadSecrets and AGentleman'sJourney on this fragrance and I was super stoked to try and test it when I found this at my local Shoppers. I was not disappointed, it's an extremely simple yet complex scent that's perfect for date nights, evenings, colder days, and formal events. The oud is not as strong or as potent as other oud based fragrances, it's actually very light, resinous and almost reminiscent of chocolate. Longevity is great, I get around 6-7 hours (no pin intended) and really strong sillage, when I first tested it the employee who was helping me said she could smell if from a few feet away. It's also incredibly affordable as a designer brand, only being $100 CAD without tax retail. The bottle is really fancy as well and represents what and when to use this specific fragrance. I am super, super excited to try it's new flanker release, Safran Mineral, which is the deep red bottle with the gold cap - the bottle alone makes me want to buy it and it's $100 CAD despite it being released this year. I also tested that one and it smelled much better than the original, at least to me. That being said, I'm gonna give Cool Elixir an 8.8/10

Edit: After a few days, the rose became much more prominent. Therefore, I have to change my review. It became my most used winter fragrance. Very lovely, warm, welcoming, deep. Nothing like Absolu, Sauvage Elixir and Asad Elixir now. Heavily recommend. I like this one. Blind bought this together with Hot Water. But I'm just a tad bit disappointed, as it is nothing like Cool Water (or Hot Water). While the opening is nice, flowery, soapy, it quickly dries down into a generic clone of Sauvage Elixir mixed with Boss Bottled Absolu. I'm just so tired of that DNA.Is it high quality and does it smell great? Yea, it's a really well made parfum. Is it easily replaceable by other brands, even arabian ones? Yes. If the opening lasted (much) longer, it would be a banger parfum. If you have Sauvage Elixir, it's a no buy. If you have BOSS Bottled Absolu, it's a no buy. If you have Lattafa Asad Elixir, it's a no buy. I just can't see where this fragrance fits, even though it's genuinely nice fragrance.

This is a strong Lavender forward fragrance. In the opening it's very sweet and fresh. The Rose and Lavender notes give the fragrance facets of Pineapple in the air. Though it wasn't immediately obvious to me, two people in my vicinity commented that they could smell Pineapple. In the drydown, the sweetness subsides and the Oud becomes more prominent, though not overbearing. What you're left with after an hour is basically a darker woody fragrance with subtle rich sweetness in the background. I can see why it's compared to Y Elixir as it has a similar vibe, but Cool Elixir is more wearable and versatile because the Oud note isn't as strong, and also because Cool Elixir is sweeter. I really like Cool Elixir. It has great sillage, good longevity and is a great pick up if you can get it at a discounter. Just don't buy it thinking you're getting something that smells like the OG, because you're not. Cool Elixir strives to be its own thing and has nil marine freshness or minerality to it. 8/10

Really impressed with this. It doesn't smell like it as such, but the opening puts me somewhat in mind of Sauvage Elixir, probably due to the lavender and dark woods. Overall I get charred woods with a little dirt at first but settles very nicely with the lavender. It doesn't come across as a regular oud-rose scent at all. The rose is a deep, masculine note which isn't overtly floral. As some others have suggested, I also get some mango which reminds me a bit of the mango I get from Gisada Ambassador Intense. The scent comes across quite dry but with a nice depth and a bit of a glow. It lasts very well on my skin and remains interesting throughout the wear. It doesn't project a lot but generates a nice sillage around me. On a warm but breezy evening it smelled fantastic. I hope the unwarranted hate and early trolling on this one can taper off, so that people are more inclined to sample it and can give their honest opinion on whether they like it or not.

Just got this today. Gotta say I got me another member of the same family: Gisada Ambassador Intense, Cool Elixir, Sauvage Elixir and Lou De Pre Golden Saffron. Gisada is the most seductive and intimate. Sauvage has the most appealing profile. Cool Elixir is the most masculine of the group. Golden Saffron is the cheapest, but the absolute beast. If you can get your hands on Saffron and Cool Elixir for the beginning, you won't regret, as when layered one on top of the other they provide durable very masculine and loud scent profile. Just don't overspray Saffron, cause it cuts through cloths and other perfumes easily. Gisada is really nice for nights out, but turns very cloying on casual use. Sauvage is the most balanced of them all, but very expensive to this day.

I just got this for Christmas and have worn it two times only...ppl keep asking me what I’m wearing??!! I’m getting tremendous applause for this!! It’s a definite keeper... 2 sprays needed no more!! It literally fills a room even after you leave - would not recommend for small office or hole settings but going out in public you will get ppl asking what are you wearing!! I give this a 9 out of 10 only because I don’t really like the smell on me even through people around me do...strange I know... it stays on my skin for over 12 hrs even after a quick shower I can still get a small hint of this crazy!! I would recommend for men over 35 not for the younger crowd This shows class, elegance and make you feel like a CEO!! Well done Davidoff!!

Imagine walking through a field of lavender on a sunny, but relatively cool day. The smell is intoxicating, as you feel uplifted, relaxed and at peace with what is. When you look around, you spot a rose bush with beautiful and large pink roses. You walk towards it and support a rose delicately with your hand, put your nose close to it and sniff. You inhale the mild yet invigorating scent, continuing your walk. A soft breeze combines the aromas in the air. Underneath the ethereal nature of the vegetation is a woodiness that cannot be precisely defined, but it is there, holding everything together, forming the base of all life you encounter. This is more than a perfume, this is an experience and I cannot get enough of it. 10/10.

Spectacular stuff from Davidoff. Not at all what I was expecting from the lackluster reviews and low score here. This is clearly underrated and obviously another victim of the trolls. I have over 700 fragrances (many to still add to the database, and some that aren't in it). I have pretty much nothing that smells like this. And this little Davidoff really performs. This is great stuff, and is now popping up on discounters for a steal. @AndyWarholsFavouriteWig, @BadWolff and @Nosey_Sniffington have added the proper perspective here. I actually cracked a sly smile when I read 'Zino Elixir'. It makes so much sense when thought of from that perspective... Gonna buy a backup bottle just in case this first run gets reformulated ...

Nothing to do with Sauvage Elixir, so let's get that out of the way. The one funny, and rather unique about this one, is the fact that darker notes are on top while the dry down is soft in comparison. I really like it, it's not cheap at all, but what I don't like is some of the people ranking and reviewing fragrances on this forum. It is sad to see some of most awful fragrances get high praise while something so nice like this one get the shorter end of the stick. The exact same observation I saw with Goldfield and Banks Silky Woods Elixir. That too was extremely nice and also got bad reviews all the while some stupid lackluster dupes or rack store bottom shelf dwellers get over 4.5/5.0, so so strange.

WOW! This is SO nice. You can really smell the Rose Oxide. If you dislike rose scents or oud scents this one might just change your mind. Has a slight hint of the original Cool Water DNA but more of an Invictus vibe. So think of it as a spicy rose and oud Invictus. Not a dirty oud, a sweet oud and the rose note isn’t so much floral as more metallic. Shocked how expensive and different this smells. If Tom Ford or PDM had put this out and charged £300 for it scent snobs would be going ape shit for it. More male, more cool weather, more nighttime. Age 18+. Great longevity and silage. On sale for £40 for 100ml... a bargain. Rating here is a joke. 9/10.

Drives me wild people saying ''Nothing special or boring'' it's a cool water fragrance the most mass appealing DNA on the planet its drives to be generic if you pick it up expecting something special you really need to look into your brand perception it's like complaining a toskovat doesn't smell like bubblegum. I love rose and oud scents and this is not the complex combination we know this is Bad boy elixir meets Azzaro most wanted parfum its basic but refreshingly different to these base fragrances, you know the ones they don't lock up at the chemist. Overall, for what it is it's a fantastic scent its really top of its level.

This is a strong perfume. Sprayed it once on my hand sampling and could smell it hours later. Expect a woody scent with a hint of floral lavinder. If you love Oud, this is for you. I love woody scents, smelt this on a colleague and i knew i needed it. The dry down is Oud-ish. Top note is a Lavender, hard to pick up. Rose is not detectable. Its a winter scent. Don't wear it if you are taking public transport, youll make us cough lol. So best worn for outdoor events. Longevity and Sillage is great. Value for money. I dont regret my purchase.

I usually like alot of fragrances from Davidoff and this new Cool Elixir is one of my favourite fragrances for men, it's so strong and intense and long lasting, I love the rich oud scent in this, my brother wears this all the time. And CWH sells this for $70 for a 100ml bottle, which is rather decently priced when you consider the fact that it's an EDP which is more concentrated, alot of EDPs for men tend to be very expensive, this is one of the more affordable EDPs for men on the market. I also love the women's version of Cool Elixir.

Pleasant aromatic. Reminds me of a lovely middle eastern perfume, can't put my finger on which. I must admit, some of these middle eastern perfumes are really nice, potent, have beautiful presentation and are great value. I got this from Amazon UK. It was delivered in a heatwave and was left behind my wheelie bin. I was worried that it had become spoiled. Let it settle indoors - seems OK. I can't smell rose in it at all. Some lavender and woods. Performance is quite good. Anyway, Cool Elixir is a really nice perfume.

This is a good fragrance it smells like lavender and a plum like sweet rose with woods in the base, but not just oud(can’t really smell this note because it’s not a bold Oud like TF Oud Wood). YSL Y L’Elixir smell like lavender but has a soapyness to it, both fragrances are not similar not even by a close margin. I also own MFK Satin Mood and it’s not similar to this fragrance. Performance wise this is strong and seem to sit close to the skin with boldness.

Just bought it. 53€ at Douglas in Frankfurt. A perfume that slowly grew on me. Reminds me of Dior Sauvage but sweeter, and more floral. Dior it’s in a league of its own, but seeing Davidoff pulling this out for a more affordable price it’s good for the industry. It’s amazing to me how they managed to mix the Oud with the fresh tones. Try it yourself.

First this is has nothing to do with sauvage elixir, second this one is in the best release from Davidoff cool line. Somthing very nice at its dry down and I’m addict to it. Third the longevity and the sillage are strong. Finally I can put this in valantino born in roma intense genre but not similar. You should try this one out it is a gem.

Overall Great Fragrance My signature scent Lavender Forward frag, Has that Arabian Coffee Vibe to it This might be a reach but it lowkey kinda reminds me of Initio Side effect. Love it would definitely get again. It waaaayyyy Different than your average Davidoff Cool Water youre used to.

I've just purchased it today 2 months after writing this review.. It's just as nice and right up there with Sauvage Elixir i couldn't stop sampling it in boots, a proper futuristic favourite.. But it's not worth the asking price.. (like many others!) got a 100ml from ebay for £40

In simple word it is unique take of dark rosy slightly sweet no oud but maybe ambery So if you do not appreciate oud rosy typical arabic scent .. you will like it Do not be misleaded by the notes I really like it in fact .. tried it after dry down I bought from shop

Very addictive dark lavender, perfectly spicy, Excellent scent quality I pray that they never discontinue or reformulate this, I'm convinced people are down voting because they are either A) hating because it's from Davidoff or B) they want to gate keep this.

I believe the perfumers are: Anne Flipo, Jean-Christophe Hérault, Nelly Hachem-Ruiz. Cool Elixir is a sweet, pleasant, versatile soapy parfum with a good potency. The best Davidoff recent release It's a love from me.

I f you soapy aromatics that have potence, this is for you. Cool Elixir is addictive and lasts ages. It comes in a good quality box and bottle. It's a love from me and in my top six.

Instead of wearing this perfume, I often go to my perfume collection and smell it like psychopath. It’s like a therapy for me. Kudos to designer of this beautiful perfume.

This is honestly pretty incredible for the price, a very luxurious and niche smelling fragrance. Highly recommended if you like a rosy, dark woody type of fragrance.

Cool Elixir smells great. It’s a cross between cool water and Sauvage elixir. The dry down is acutely better than Sauvage.

Oh dude I love this fragrance it's just sooo good!

The oversimplified note breakdown is potentially what led so many of you to buy this and then dislike it because it smells completely different. I've taken the effort to study each ingredient on the back of the box and map what's being used to create the accords being marketed and I'll give a separate note breakdown after all this in the end, so keep reading! So the rose oxide accord comes from a bunch of chemicals used to mimic a rusty rose smell that's "cool" metallic and ozonic and not a jammy one. The lavendin (very different from soapy barbershop-ish lavender) comes across as a sharp, slightly nose piercing camphorous note. This also feels herbal and minty to some extent. The Oud accord is the most misleading one in my opinion. This isn't funky, animalic, resinous, tarry leather kind of Oud but a very friendly approach on Oud. This is ever so slightly resinous, ambery (warm), mossy and woody like cedar wood base. Overall olfactory scent profile: So how it all comes across is like a synthetic mix of cool and airy rose with a touch of mint and eucalyptus oil along with the slightly dark sophistication from lavender and masculine woody, mossy dry down that might come across as a standard perfume that someone would push you to purchase in a mall. So the name "elixir" doesn't evoke a unique, niche like blending with complicated ingredients. It also has no intentions of following along the foot steps of the OG Cool Water either. Also why so many of the elder folks despise Cool Water Intense as well although that's a great fragrance in it's own way. So here's my final NOTE BREAKDOWN from all the listed ingredients and how they come across to the nose- TOP: Rose oxide, bergamot, mint MID: Eucalyptus, lavendin BASE: Moss, cedarwood, patchouli, oud, musk, amber Although it's a slightly polarizing scent made with generic notes and accords, I like it for what it's trying to do. Not a bad scent for the nights, year round and lasts a good 7-8 hrs on skin and fabric combined straight out of the box. If you spray it in the evening, it should last you till you till you call it a day. The projection is pretty decent although not space filling.

Why lots of people hate this. I mean, yeah it's a basic fresh designer scent, but it's a good one for dumb reach. The DNA strayed away from the OG, but it's still a good one IMO. For the performance, it's a dense one but the projection sits closer to the skin when you stay still, but when you move, it leaves a strong sillage trail. The oil concentration, based from how it dried down on my skin, pretty sure it's above 15%, prolly 20%. So the longevity is above average for me. Scent wise, even tho oud is listed, but honestly i only smell a very tiny amount of synthetic oud or maybe just an oud accord from the scent, and it only appears during the late phase after 2h passed, which gives me a slight hint of incense scent. No animalic oud or whatsoever. The scent is overall a basic designer freshie, nothing to write home about. If you're looking for something unique, this is not for you. If you're into niche, this is not for you. But if you're looking for a dumb reach for daily driver, this is for you. Again, this is a basic designer freshie that will give you "oh, the scent is familiar and generic." So people who downvoted this, idk what they were expecting. Prolly because the oud was misleading them, and they were expecting something grand from a $50 designer brand which known to make a basic but gets the job done freshie.

If you enjoy Dior Sauvage Elixir, there’s a good chance you’ll appreciate Cool Elixir by Davidoff as well. I honestly don’t understand the negative feedback this fragrance receives. Try it in a cooler environment and give it time to develop on your skin — you’ll be surprised by how refined it becomes. This scent is long-lasting and quite elegant. It features a beautiful blend of oud, rose, and lavender, all coming together in a smooth, harmonious way. Nothing smells synthetic or overpowering. It’s definitely not an everyday or warm-weather scent — it shines best during evening events, romantic dates, or special dinners. To me, this feels like a fragrance suited for more mature individuals, and for special occasions where you want to stand out in a sophisticated way. A solid, worthy fragrance overall.

Woody-aromatic, fresh notes of mint and vetiver. Very grassy, a bit creamy. Sea notes, herbs, warms a little, has a phantom caramel note. More marine aromas, with rosemary, it's still aromatic. Turns peperry, remains herbal with rich woody-earthy notes. Then fresh sage and something citrussy, maybe grapefruit? It goes a little powdery with balsamic skin notes but remains grassy overall. Still minty with some sandalwood as it dries down. Performance; projection moderate, lasts for 8hrs on skin. Masculine fragrance, good for ages 20+. More of a day scent but would work on a mild evening. It does have a nod to the original, as it wafts through the air you get a similar salty sea breeze. IMO it works as an updated smoother version of the OG and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it.

How is no one talking about a ripe mango note in this perfume. I come from Maharashtra, India where Alphonso mangoes are very famous. The perfumes initial blast reminds me of that fruit. It is not mentioned anywhere. This one is a bit too synthetic and overpowering on its opening. This scent comes to its full glory when it settles down. It is very powerful and has a good projection for good 3-4 hours at least 3-4 feet and then after it becomes a body scent but you can get whiffs of it upon movement. This is definitely not a blind buy. But i loved it.

Smelled good but didn't wow me on first spray... but it turned out to be one of those where you go about your day and then think, "What is that great smell? Oh.. It's me." . It doesn't smell like your typical rose / oud, and honestly, I dunno what to make of it except that it's lightly sweet and I like it. Got a compliment from a coworker the first time I wore it out of the house. Good longevity. The price has come down on discounters to where this one is a good value.

It started very strong but 1hr in its kinda faded, maybe this is nose blindness, can't tell yet. It's kinda heavy but also smooth and 10 minutes in it starts reminding of the original DNA, with hints of metalic / mineral notes. My nose is not that trained yet but it definitely reminds me of something familiar and it is something good. About 8/10. About €40 for 100ml sounds great for this scent provided it has a solid longevity which is to be further tested.

I applied around 4–5 sprays and later when I got home my brother immediately asked Which perfume are you wearing? It smells amazing. The most surprising part was the longevity when I woke up the next morning i could still smell it on my clothes. I’m not very good at identifying detailed notes, but overall I really liked the fragrance. It smells classy and pleasant to me. Overall, I’m really happy with this purchase. Definitely worth it for me.

A spicy rose reinforced by a strong lavender and a subtle touch of sweet oud. Lasts a long time on skin and even though I wouldn't call it a great fragrance, I just can't deny the addictive nature of this scent. It also got me quite a few compliments. Probably not a daily wear though, but might be a decent option if you're looking for a great and affordable performer for special occasions.

Honestly fixes the problems I have with Davidoff Cool Water. With Cool Water being overly synthetic and overbearing. I like this but I despise oud so it's a weird fight with myself lol. Definitely worth the money if you're a fan of lighter floral fragrances. The oud lets it down for me.

This fragrance smell unique from cool water collection. Long lasting on clothes and skin about 6 to 10 hours. It's fills the room. I remember when I put it on my jackets and left it on wardrobe, the wardrobe was fill with the scent. U got to try this at an affordable price.
