Silver Shadow Altitude

This fragrance is so amazing and unique and it totally fits the pilot-style it represents! First, the take off: an explosion of spicy pepper, sweet berries and bitter grapefruit - it pushes you back into the seat, in your stomach a slight rumble, filling you with the joy of anticipation and giving you ideas of the adventures you are about to experience. Also, there is this cool, metallic touch that reminds you of the sparkling and strong machine that is carrying you. (It stays for the whole duration and sometimes slightly reminds me of Azzaro - Chrome) Then, the climb: exotic spices and this incredibly warm scent of cedarwood let you slowly calm down, tightening the images of your imminent explorations and letting you feel comfy and successful. After a while, you reach the peak and enter the spheres above the clouds: A slight, white and clean breeze lets you stay fresh, like smooth shreds of clouds faning your head, woody and musky notes underline your comfy and safe position and give you a feeling for the eternity outside your window, while they remember you of your roots at the same time, together with the metallic shine of the plane you are on. This perfume is one of my absolute favourite scents: I love the perfectly balanced composition and the emotions it awakes in me: it lasts almost 10 hours on my skin and even longer on my clothes and I think, it has one of the best fitting commercials and names ever!

I never owned a Davidoff fragrance, I guess because I associate the name since I was a kid with the eternal Cool Water, so in my mind this was a "not something new" scent. Well, finally, and I frankly don't know why, I decided to buy Silver Shadow Altitude. The first blast brought memories from perfumes that I had in the very early 90's, like YSL Jazz. Is masculine and yet fresh and light, an "optimistic" scent. The grapefruit reminds me also of the Issey Miyaki summer flankers, but Silver Shadow Altitude is not as harsh and over synthetic. After trying a lot, I noticed that juniper berry, cedar and oakmoss blend beautifully with my skin chemistry. And this is not exception. Not only that I like this fragrance, people like it too. No need to spray like crazy, less is more in this case, like a little surprise when you walk by, making people say : Oh, you smell so good!

I first smelled this in my friend's bathroom. It was his dad's. Since then, everytime I went for a piss in his bathroom I kept smelling it, and I knew I had to have it. The scent is very well balanced. The top is great, bitterness from the grapefruit and a bit of sweetness- the juniper berry note. Middle and base are musky, stingy, with remnants of the top notes. 9/10 The sillage is AMAZING. While I was doing my rehearsals in this huge theathre hall, everybody kept telling me I smell very nice-which I don't get with the other frags I own. 9.5/10 Longevity isn't very good. I get about 4-6 hours on my skin, and then it starts to slowly fade away. And you can barely feel it on your clothes the next day. 7/10 It can be used on almost every occasion, it's a clean, spicy, fruity daytime scent. And for the price it's sold for, it's an absolute bargain. BUY IT!!

Med-Sweet, Med-Citrus, Med-Aromatic, Low-Woody, Low-Spicy, Low-Smokiness and Low-Musky. Wonderful blend. The first time I sniffed this was Wooow!!! No hesitation the bottle landed into my shopping cart (normally I would test thoroughly b4 buying them) What-A-Fantastic smell, quite cheap but it doesn't smell cheap. I don't mind having to reapply because of the scent and price. Some say it's similar to other fragrances, but to me it excels in that group. It should be in a collection. Blind buy = Knock yourself out!!!

Blind bought this one. Without any regrets. Beautiful scent in all of it's subtleness. I find this much more interesting than Versace pour Homme and Acqua di Gio. Don't need any of those in my fragrance drawer when I have this one. Love to wear this in winter time, picks me up, reminding me that this long and cold season most probably will end some day. One spray don't do much, but two on the neck and one on the body makes this one last surprisingly long. The sillage suits me just fine, it softly says "hello, I shure am fresh" without any shouting. My blind-buy was partly based on the nice looking bottle, partly on my former experiences with Davidoff, but mostly on the reviews on this page(cheers guys!)

Fresh, windy, not oceanic but ozonic, sky. Altitude is defiantly one of the most "Right" named perfumes. One of the best from Davidoff, and probably the best from the Silver shadow line, no one knows why it is even named after that line, it has nothing to do with the rest. The original had better longevity, the formulated version isn't the same but still fine, Opens with a fruity citrus notes, followed in an hour by herbal fruity oceanic notes,then musk, to be honest I've never smelled the incence or woody notes in the base. If you smelled Acqua Essinziale and liked it, then you better look for this because the other is just a copy of it, while this is actually almost half the price.

LOVE at first sight !! From the first day that I smelled this perfume, I can't find other that satisfied for me better than this one. Smell is very fresh. You can feel that you stand in forest with fresh air and wind to make you relax and feel comfortable. I really feel that i have vacation in forest after smell this. For honestly, I try more than 20 in popular smell. But I can't find anyone better than this. Even I love it so much, but the smell doesn't long enough. It's about 3 hours. But that doesn't make any trouble just spray it again :P I recommend you this fresh one. 9.7/10 Thank you.

The celery, cardamom and juniper berries lift (and add shine and stamina to) the grapefruit (NOT red grapefruit which I find more tiresome) that in this fragrance combination seems to outshine any standard lemon or bergamot note. The pepper remains a distinct and welcome partner throughout. I love how there is a constant and prolonged evocation of the idea of citrus - to me, very individual. Discreet musk and cashmere wood after 10 hours. Made for my skin! Funny how I chanced upon this - the bottle caught my attention but its contents are an unexpected and impressive discovery! 9/10 overall.

Don’t over look this one! This fragrance is incredible.. Great summer freshie.. you get hit with very nice citrus up front followed up with a celery note that makes this super fresh and easy to wear.. I bought this almost 2 years ago for under 20 dollars.. Now it’s a bit more expensive must have gotten discontinued.. Oh well I would buy this around 40 dollars in a heart beat. Lasts long and projection is decent.. I love wearing this one on a hot summer night after going swimming.. I get tons of compliments.. This is awesome! Rating- 9.5/10 A real keeper

Very nice zingy opening, I get a lot of green pepper and juniper berries, and I also detect the cedar and caraway which is great, then a more musky, woody drydown. It is very nice indeed but like so many fragrances in this category the projection last long enough for my liking. After 2 or 3 hours it's just a skin scent on me, although to be fair, I get 6 or 7 hours on the skin. So, it is really good, and a nice pick-me-up for daytime use but don't expect it to project all day. Get a cheapo bottle if you can then you won't feel short-changed.

Think of a better Chrome Sport with hints of Versace man O’Fresh.. Only now consider the development going a bit creamy or powdery. Last long and projection is good (those who care) and it’s a hidden gem in a vacuum of fragrances. Time will show this to be a one of those forgotten fragrances which catch a pretty penny in the future. If you can get your nose on it I think you’ll agree. - pre early regulations, so it probably has oils which are either hard to find, expensive or just unsustainable. -Coty release.

This is one of my favorite frags I own, I don't wear it much because I didn't want to get sick of it, and seeing now that it's discontinued I'm so glad I still have most of a bottle left. This one is such a mood booster, fresh but not in a generic way. I smell the citrus, but also the peppery and incense/smoky notes, which thankfully don't come across to strong. It all blends together very well, and whenever I smell it I think of cool summer nights back in happier times.

Although I have never smelled it, I've heard nothing particularly good about the original Silver Shadow, but this is surprisingly good for it's price. Strong, decent longevity, a distinctly fruity yet fresh set of notes that dries down into a very pleasant sweet & smoky base with a little of the fruityness left on your clothes the next day. On a side note, the shower gel version of this is without doubt the best smelling shower gel I've ever experienced.

What an absolute gem! I remember trying silver shadow and liking it so when I saw this going cheap I snapped it up blind...and I love it. Freshness and spice with the juniper and delicate celery note its the juice that keeps giving. This is easily among the best Davidoff scents and the bottle is really attractive too similar shaped reservoir to D&G The One. Also, the stopper has a satisfyingly quality feel when you click it down.

Opening - natural grapefruit, strong but subtle pepper and fruity berries. Citrusy , airy and spicy, but deffinetly not aggressive top notes. Mid notes - still spicy, but more subtle, with nice touch of cedar. Base - warm, elegant woods with touch of smokiness (musk + incense). Usually i don't like synthetic smell of cashmere wood. But here, it smells natural and subtle, without chemical powderness. Underrated gem. 8.5/10

U have here a very cool scent. It doesn't have a very complex drydown cause its changes are very subtle. It starts with a cool scent of grapefruit: light, aromatic, fresh. At the end it becomes more woody, but with no major diference, still keeping a light & almost fresh scent. Lasting power is also good. This fragrance is for everyday use as it doesn't impose, being very subtle, soft, delicate.

Well, what a nice surprise from Davidoff, on the top, with great price tag, It is delicate and very pleasing, As a female do not dare to go into the detailed description, bought is as a gift and not so familiar with man fragrances. But I like it a lot. Suitable for all age groups. In my opinion the best Davidoff scent.

A very unique scent! Feels very clean and sweet yet very subtle, maybe a little too subtle with horrible silage though. Longevity is pretty good but after 2 hours I can't really detect it on myself but that could just be olfactory fatigue because I love this scent so much that I keep smelling it!

This is a pretty decent smelling fresh fruity aquatic scent. I thought it smelt Abit like Nautical Voyage but there seems to be other marine blue scents that are similar or have similar vibe. I think one of the polo blue also has this sorta dna. Anyway I think this is pretty hard to find now.

Altitude is very easy to wear. Nice spicy aquatic that's slightly sweet and not at all synthetic. It really has nothing to do with the original Davidoff Silver Shadow, which is good. Longevity? Lasts for at least 8 to 10 hours on my skin. Highly recommended! Definitely worth the money... :D
