The Game Intense

I got a free sample of this and another edp handed to me in House of Fraser (one for women and one for men)and even tho it is for men I thought what the heck i'll spray it on myself. Lol. I was pleasantly surprised as it is really nice and TBH a female could easily wear this and it is sooooo long lasting also. It has a fruity/flowery fragrance but with a lovely zap of musk and as it dries down has a slightly uplifting smell. I have smelt this smell before in a females brand perfume but for the life of me cannot remember which (I have so many I love my perfumes Lol)it is more of an evening fragrance although you could wear it during the day. It would definitely make you feel good on a cold, damp, dreary day. I could still smell the perfume the next day (about 20hrs later) quite a lot also.

A girl friend of mine purchased this for me for my birthday, an I'm impressed with this fragrance. It's starts out kind of harsh an sweet , but drys down to a smooth soothing aura She couldn't stop smelling my neck. Dark and ethereal iris - pleasantly counterbalanced by a smooth juniper/gin -over velvet spices, a hint of cherry coke carried on a breeze. Silky smooth and elegant, intense is much more mature and sophisticated than the original.

I m just coming from a cosmetics store n there I sprayed it on my clothes...Oh my God...this is unbelievably awsome...its such a different fragrance from others...I m surely gonna buy it n bring it to mu collection

Best Davidoff in a very long time, plesant smell i get whiffs of a powdry drydown, i like it a lot.

Davidoff the game intense is too good to be true...

I have this and think it's excellent. It starts off with a voluptuous fruity/woody blast...sort of blackcurrant with woods (in a balsamic tradition) and reminds me a bit of the general character of DK Fuel for Men. Patchouli and spices follow. I do not find it 'sweet' as others have mentioned here. I have no idea what 'blackwood' is in the listings and have never come across it before... but I strongly suspect it's fictitious and made up by the Davidoff marketing team. A nice intriguing, arty bottle too. A good release.

When I first tried it, I hated it... It was super sweet and sticky but when it developped after roughly 1 hour, the sweetness subdued and a new and totally bizzarre aroma rose! I think it's the blackwood... New to me! Anyway... This is a real gem for sweet perfumes lovers and a great alternative to the everpopular 1 million, 212 VIP men and the 10000 others that smells the same! While this is in the same boat as the others, it set itself apart by being unique in it's composition. Good work davidoff!

A bit stronger at the beginning but after 20-30 minutes it changes into a decent woody frag. I have to mention that at first i disliked it.... my bad, but when i used it after a month or 2 it was like one of the best woody scent under my nose and i didn't realize what it was. Longevity is OK but sillage is weak (not as i was expecting) i wish Davidoff should launch it's EDP version. Fragrance: 9/10 Longevity: 5/10 Sillage: 5/10

Used this to get married in. The marriage lasted two years. The fragrance somewhat more. I can't wear it now because it acts as a Pavlovian trigger. The fragrance itself is a great performer on me. Super silage and projection, excellent longevity. The smell invokes an image of sitting on top of a haystack in high summer then opening a cold bottle of Coke. Masculine, dry. Sweeter at start.

I don't own this yet, but it may well be my next purchase. Tried it at the recommendation of a shop assistant, and 8 hours later, including after a swim and shower, I can still smell it. And can't stop smelling it! To me it now smells somewhat of vanilla, with a hint of pepper and smoke.

This is a great everyday scent for guys who want something a little more intense than the original Davidoff The Game. I get lots of compliments on it. The patchouli and woodiness are really noticeable but not overpowering.

Very masculine i like it and get lot of compliment specially for someone who smoke cigarette very deep dark last 7 hours on skin and good for winter night outdoor

a wife gift got in 2014, it smells powdery because of Iris, I had nice memories with this perfume.

Great fragance. Smells like if you walk into a gallery with recently carved ebony sculptures. 8/10

PERFECT.....for smokers. It blend great with smell from tobacco. Not recommended for non-smoker

The drydown smells like cheap soap or a taxi cab that has way too many air "fresheners" hanging on the rear-view mirror. A regrettable semi-blind buy since I only smelled this once in at a duty-free and only experienced it fresh on a test strip. Smell 4/10 Longevity 8/10 Sillage 7/10

Smells like burnt wood makes my head aches

I agree with those who say to give this one some time and then it's special. And while there may be a touch of this or that aroma chemical, it is blended very well, so that it's not obvious. If you think you'll like this, I'd say a blind buy is to be considered, but don't think you are getting J. Bogart type strength here; instead, you are getting subtlety (something you don't get with JB scents). Prices at the moment led me to a blind buy, and this is the kind of flanker that might not have been produced in large quantities, so waiting to find it in a bargain bin may not be wise! Also, as far as naming and marketing a scent is concerned, for me this would be best situated in the Varvatos Dark Rebel line; how about Dark Rebel Chain Smoker? UPDATE: After several hours the chemical nature is apparent (though not strong), but it's still a "dirty" scent with a touch of something sweet, and overall it holds together rather well, especially if price is taken into account (that is, comparing this one to similar niche).

I agree with the comment below, "great for smokers" was the first thing that popped in my head as well. I bought this sort of blind, actually in a rush, couldn't properly test this before buying. I've been on the wagon for 7 months now and I assumed it would be more on the fruity side with a good sillage than the origanl. I was proven wrong. With the initail burst, i get a little citrusy fruitiness but then it dries fast into rich, deep, smokey and "oudy" scent. However, there is still the berry like smell in the background. For a brief moment I wished I had tried this 7 months ago. Nonetheless, the compliments poured with this fragrance. Ladies love it!! I believe this a well rounded fragrance, because you can really experience the transition of all the notes. This is a cold weather fragrance, but you can pull it off with minimal sprays in hot weather. Great for office too. Scent: 7/10 Longevity: 8/10 Projection: 7.5/10

Imagine that sensation you get in your nose when you're about to take a sip of side from a glass, not a can, this almost has a fizzy soda/root beer opening with some gin and a hint of licorice notes. Then it turns into the black wood and as a comment made by someone below me it reminds you of walking into a room full of ebony sculptures.. Its an exotic and woody scent. This starts off strong and turns into a skin scent after an hour. You'll continue to get whiffs of this throughout the day, its a great scent that wont offend anyone. But it smells of someone that has class yet mystery about them, almost inviting them in for something more.. Its dark and mysterious. The poker theme they got going on fits it. I really don't see how this isn't more popular and for the price its a great deal. I truly recommend at least trying. 8.5/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Sillage: 7/10 Scent: 8.9/10

The Game Intense is one of the most wonderful surprises of 2013. An opulent strong fragrance with echo of the classics. I smell something leathery inside, a mix of burnt woods (quite oud-y), a big amount of patchouli and leather. The atmospere of the fragrance reminds of TF Tuscan Leather (they are not similar, but share the same mood) and everything from the oud genre. This one has a niche quality, so I highly recommend at least to try it.

Epic Journey Into the Bottled Yonder, 247 ------------------------------------------------------- Purchased August 2025 - NOS Very woody and a little bit Poker Face/LNDH. Comes across as a ripened banana thanks to the chemistry of the patchouli. Other than that, I don't know what I smell out of it because I haven't tested it so much. It's definitely earthy and 'noir'. Batch: H3 0563123442 from August 2013.

I don’t even know why I bother writing reviews — honestly, to me this perfume doesn’t resemble the listed notes at all. I don’t know if they’re selling me cheap fakes or what, but I can’t detect anything earthy or woody in it. To me, it smells super “blue,” kind of floral. Very aquatic and maybe slightly woody, at best. Unfortunately, it doesn’t last very long.

Longevity of this perfume is great!!! A bit strong in the opening, but after 2 hours it smells smooth and I can't stop myself from smelling my wrist.. Got many compliments while wearing it.. My lady loves it!!! Smell- 8/10 Longevity- 9/10 Sillage- 8/10 ( xcellent for 1st hour after that it stays close) Versatility- 6/10 (only winter and fall)

This is very masculine fragrance with powerful projection and acceptable longevity. You get heavy patchouli / alcohol vibe with woody background. The scent is ordinary if you smell it closely but the sillage is very nice. Good for the price.

Anyone in EU have a bottle of this and would be willing to sell for a price thats not ridiculously high like on ebay and stuff? I live in the Netherlands so if you're able to ship it here send me a DM!

Sweet dark wood. Almost like tonkabean sweat. A little bit boozy. Synthetic but quite good. If it wasn ́t for the compliments I would not care much for it, but when the ladies are happy I ́m happy too.

I dont have it, but I try the 3 versions, and I think this one is better than normal..
