The Game

I am having a slightly different experience. Opens with all gin and berry for me which gives an alternative take on an aquatic. The floral and woodsy notes serve to anchor it down and give it depth. This reminds me of what armani code smells like on my friend (but not on me). I prefer it a lot more than code which i gave away. My first wear left me wanting more. My wife unfortunately had only smelled the dry down and asked if the intention was to smell like clean laundry. On that note I gave away individual too but this one does the laundry without all the synthetic might of mont blanc. My bias for Davidoff is that they always get me compliments and in some cases more. If you have dark toned skin, try hot water in fall. Sometimes compliments aren't enough though and I've given away silver shadow, cw deep, adventurer, champion. This I'll wear for me. It's like they took champion and added armani code. Try in fall, it's a great fall fresh scent. Worn multiple times and the scent veers away from champion quite dramatically. It now reminds me of a more balanced bvlgari man which i found too stand offish and cold

I Used to wear This, I Bought 1 60 Ml Bottle, at the time i was wearing this it did smell good but as time went by i started nt to enjoy the scent i could'nt even finish the bottle i js gave it to my older brother to finish it up, Two weeks later i was at the club with some friends and they came along with other guys i did'nt know as well and this other guy was wearing davidoff the game, i jus smelled him immediately and detected it, and asked him" dude are you wearing Davidoff The game? and he said oh yea i am, and asked how do I know it? told him used to wear it. So then we were dancing in the club and this dude starts dancing too and this Davidoff Smell starts to fill the dance floor and i'm smelling it all over and it starts to irritate me, i couldnt handle it anymore and just went straight to the private room and vomited, i could'nt handle the scent and I dont think I will ever handle it anymore, this scent is annoying and it will annoy you especially when ur drunk or ur drinking alcohol.

I absolutely love this one! I have been on the fence about this one for a while now. I have seen tons of mixed reviews and videos and just decided to pull the trigger. I couldn't be more pleased with this. It is an absolute beautiful scent profile. It may not last super long but i get a good 6 hours+ off of it but I will catch whiffs throughout the day. If you don't like iris then you wouldn't like this one. This is a great intro to iris fragrance, similar to how CK One Shock is to tobacco. The spritz of the juniper berries and gin off the top go so perfectly well with the iris and woods in the mid and the ebony wood base. Overall, if your an iris fragrance person i recommend. Great cheapie, inoffensive and very versatile. I was fortunate enough to happen upon it on clearance at my local TJ Maxx for $10.

My brother got this for me as a gift! I asked for something "fancy and sophisticated that I can wear to a date/theather/cinema" and this delivers. It smells expensive! They might've cheaped out on the bottle design (only the cap looks like poker chips now), but I bet a sharply dressed big winner would smell like this for sure. And it has iris! Ding ding ding! Great opening, very much smells like a sweetened gin and tonic. The juniper and iris lingers for a little while. Stays fresh for a relatively average/normal amount of time before going down to the woody notes as it dries down. Love it! Will use this when going out, boys, ladies, and enbies - beware of the high roller!

The sweet woody accord that is prominent during the dry down is actually very close the Burberry Hero EDP, just here there is more camphory freshness from (more) iris (Hero EDP doesn't list iris as a note but does lost alpha methyl ionone in the ingredients so it has some iris effect at minimum), and a bit of juniper berry. It's like Hero EDP lightened up and with a splash of Reflection man. Not overtly Christmasy like Burberry London or Noel au Balcon, but the berry effect is slightly holly-esque and coupled with the pine prominent woods and the camphory-cool iris, it really does feel right at home on a blustery winter day.

Just like the name of the fragrance it is a Game if you're blind buying guaranteed. Yes, at first i hated this fragrance but then it kinda grew on me a bit. The sillage and longevity are on strong and long settings for sure. The wood ingredients and gin alcohol are definitely overpowering the other flowery ingredients. It smells more pleasant and less powerful wood gin when it drying down. I don't recommend to buy this on a blind buy, you need to sample to know before dropping the cash.

This fragrance is made primarily for mature guys but can also be worn by young adults in a formal setting. I'm not too keen about the bottle but I love the top notes and Ebony woods at dry-down. Longevity is 8 to 10 hours for me, can still smell it on my laundry the next day. Sillage is moderate. One of my favorite frag so far in my collection! Spread the love. Cheers!

Davidoff The Game is a sweet smelling and pleasant enough fragrance. Longevity and projection ain't that big but it does the job. You wou have to get with 6ft to get noticed and it does have a touch of the Cool Water DNA in it. Not a great Scent but an okay one. 6.5 out of 10 for me!!!

This is just a great profile. Seductive night time frag with mainstream appeal. Only smelled a strip so not certain of its performance. Silver scent is way more green, cloying and choke you out-stronger.

Tried a pre-sample of this, its really wonderful! Fresh,sensual , a bit fruity, but very masculine. Go get it players!!

I have to agree with the comments that it is pretty generic and feels heavily synthetic - but for some reason it works on me. I could not find a tester so I blind-bought it since the price was pretty low, but what interested me were the juniper and gin notes in concert with the iris. I think that's why I like this - the woods are very generic, and in the drydown they go pretty powdery, which in my case is actually okay - it turns out I am a fan of generic powdery wood drydowns so long as they are the base layer for other notes that interest me, and in this case the juniper/iris does it for me layered on top of that generic, powdery wood base. In this way it has both generic and unique components. I understand the criticism - the number of people who like this are pretty much going to be in one of two groups - novices to fragrance (and there should always been scents for this group, our hobby always needs newbies to get in the door and keep things going) and what I imagine to be a pretty narrow slice of the hobbyist pie that likes the generic components enough to keep them along for the ride with the more unique juniper/iris accord. For me this is definitely a casual scent for spring/summer, a relaxing wear primarily for myself after work or in the evenings.

Both Davidoff's "Game" fragrances lean towards the sweet spectrum and reminiscent of cocktails (warning for recovering alcoholics). Even so, I find them appropriate for any occasion except summertime. The Game is sweeter and less nuanced than The Brilliant Game, but by no means worse. If you own both, you will happily alternate, they're not redundant for me at least. They can be found for around 20€ so I blind bought both and I am very pleased with my purchases. As a cautionary note, I do not think the advertised notes describe what these 2 smell of, e.g. don't expect a Gin tonic smell out of The Game (get Sean John's 3am for that) and you won't get a Garibaldi smell (Campari and orange) from The Brilliant Game either. They're boozy and nice but not photorealistic drinks. For me they're both LOVE because they're affordable, satisfactorily potent and jovial. I think this is a bit unique, more versatile and daytime appropriate than The Brilliant Game, also this is more office safe and versatile. The Brilliant game I see more as a date scent and closer to Joop Wild.

It is totally ordinary perfume with a pleasant woody-aromatic notes. When you buy a perfume you should expect it as much as you paid for it. With a low price I think it is a fresh fragrance with a intense opening notes. I have it and I use it sometimes. Longevity and sillage both moderate by the way ... You can not ignore its Unique bottle سلام به همه دوستای گلم دیویدوف د گیم از نظر من یه ادکلن با کیفیت متوسط و بوی نسبتا با طراوت هست که برای استفاده روزمره توی فصل های نه چندان گرم مثل بهار و پاییز مناسبه ... این کار یه کار چوبی-آروماتیک هست که البته جز چوبی غالبی داره و اون طراوت کارای آروماتیک توش به اون صورت برجسته نیست من این ادکلن رو دارم و استفاده میکنم و به نظرم برای استفاده روزمره برای مثال توی محیط کار مناسب هست . نه یه کار کلاسیک سنگین برای افراد مسن هست و نه یه کاراسپرت برای نوجوونا. طراحی شیشه زیبایی داره که هم برای کلکسیون و به عنوان هدیه گزینه مناسبی خواهد بود. پخش پو و ماندگاری متوسطی داره که برای این محدوده قیمت قابل قبول هست

I do like this scent but don't love it. I feel it works well on cooler days or in the evenings. It's longitivity is average at around 6 to 8 hours with projection being close and lasting for an hour or two. I get the berries, iris and the woody notes. I think this is sweet but maybe too sweet for some. I will continue to wear until I use the bottle up but I am not sure I will buy again. I strongly recommend testing and not blind buying this fragrance.Overall It's not a bad fragrance if you can get it for a good price (£23 for 100ml) but any more then I wouldn't, I would give this a 6 out of 10.

I had this back when it came out and it was a lovely one to have! The price drop was a fair reflection although I love the scent profile with this one. A perfect scent for a quick grab if you're running late for something or to the gym or just anything really its quite versatile. Longevity and sillage is average with overspraying helping out to stretch it out a bit. Its woody and clean what more do you need? Although my only hate is the bottle change at the bottom. It was so cool before with the Poker chips now its just a clear lower bottle with the cap retaining the look.

Want a one million knock off for cheap?. Look somewhere else (AB the golden secret or Frank Olivier Passion). This one may have the vibe, but is not similar at all. The Game has a fruity top, then it becomes more woody, but with a sweet feeling, but very masculine. A sweeter Champion...jummmm. I can even smell Vetiver on this one!!!!. This reminded me of something, did not know what it was until I wore it a few days ago. It is similar to Cerruti 1881 Black, but more woody and less sweet. Lasts a long time and projects fairly. This is not bad at all, just don't pay retail.

I have to say that even though I bought this for my husband, I may keep it for myself for the winter months...not decided yet... The very first opening top notes are not so great, but once it starts to settle on the skin it is very attractive. At that point it is quite linear and not complex, though pleasing. Settles into a soft aromatic , powdery wood. I managed to get it at a very good price - so happy with that - not sure if I would pay full price though. Due to the numbers who didn't like it - I suggest you definitely try before you buy.

To echo many of the comments below...Totally confused by the comparisons to 1 Million and Cool Water even? Crazy it's nothing like them. I love subtle notes of gin and wood and really like the fragrance at first try. I didn't want to based on the campaign and the bottle (which is actually quite innovative) I find them a little vulgar too. My criticism of this fragrance is like so many others available its a little bland and cheap/synthetic smelling but If you like it you like it...and I like it.

For a long time this has been by go to clubbing fragrance. - It works on any occasion that involves alcohol. - Rarely ever got any compliments while wearing it, didn't care cause I like it - It's a very James Bond like fragrance - Does smell a bit synthetic but since you'll use it in situations where people around you are most likely intoxicated no one will notice - Might surprisingly work as a gym fragrance as well if you wanna stand out a bit

It reminds me of Versace the Dreamer which is a good thing, but it doesn’t smell so much like a new car air freshener, I do pickup the gin and the woods, overall it’s rather nice for $20, I’ve done worse. That said, the opening prior to the dry down can be a bit cloying depending on how resilient you are to synthetic perfumery. I’d give it a 7/10, it’s not world beating or game changing but it’s pleasant and it gets the job done

At First I hated this scent. The Gin fizz reminded me off a bad end to a night out. But once that went the berries, iris and woods kicked in and it became pleasant. Hints of 1 million slightly reminded me of GIT ish. Overall a slightly above average scent with a funky bottle. Lasting power, average 6/10 Silage , moderate 6/10 Scent , average hints of something special but that is all 6.5/10 Versatility, 7/10 Overall , 6/10

Better than it is given credit for. Lasts a good amount of time, smells pleasant. Absolutely nothing wrong with it, and considering the price it's a total bargain of a cheapie. I had this back in the day (upon release) and wore it for a while, got rid when I was moving house I think. Bought it again a month ago expecting that I wouldn't be into it anymore, but it's actually a good fragrance and I'm glad I got it back.

I was gifted this. I suppose it's meant for the guy who sees himself as confident, has the disposable income to gamble. Never has a scent been more mismatched. I once wore this to work and gave a colleague a headache. The Game is very sweet, almost to the point of being an even sicklier One Million type clone, albeit for a slightly older clientele. It's very synthetic. Okay.

#1 review The Game has a strong, fresh gin opening. The woody drydown is smooth, not too sweet imo, and lasts solid 6+ hours on me - great for nights out. Prefer it for evening over daytime, also definitely not a summertime fragrance. It's quite a safe blind buy.

I kept smelling this in stores and really liked it so ended up buying a 60ml but never found a good reason to wear it. It is trying to be a clubbing fragrance but there are a lot better alternatives out there. On the plus side, you can pick it up pretty cheap.

The Game is a fresh, slightly spicy juice. However, it's a little generic and synthetic smelling. I got this a blind buy and wouldn't buy it again. It reminds me strongly of 1881 Black. It's OK I suppose but, I am a bit disappointed with this.

Very moderate opening, but it's really synthetic at first which gives me a slight headache but aside from that longevity wise....it's alright I guess, but there are better options from Davidoff that are better than this synthetic mixture.

I'm used to complex smells from Davidoff, extraordinaire and rare. But unfortunately not with this one. I wish they'd start up Relax, again. But if so, no 'trying to recreate' but the pure, original formula.

Well blended, well rounded, pleasant smelling. Opening is juniper berries and after some time the woods come in background. Unable to smell iris. Good price value. Good for beginners.

It's a good cologne. I'd say it's good for teenagers and young adults but nothing more. It reminds me of my youth. It's a solid cop if you want a value for money.

I got this as a gift a week ago. The smell is nice, nothing special, but it is OK. However, I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed by the performance. Two hours max on my skin. I should reapply throughout the day If I want anybody to detect it. I don't want to slag off the house of Davidoff, just trying to be honest here. Will leave it to sit on the shelf a little bit to macerate and hopefully that will make it better in performance. Edit: Unfortunately maceration didn't help. I swapped it for Lalique Encre Noire, which I like very much.

Synthetic Chemicals ... Don't get me wrong it is pleasant and before i got into fragrances i used to wear it a lot because i got it as a gift. It's a fairly unique take on woody masculine scents but it's just really hard to recommend in this day and age where a lot of the UAE brands are offering so much more quality for a similar price... My advice save your money and get something a little higher quality (Dylan Blue, Montblanc Explorer etc) or do some research on the UAE brands and find yourself a bargain.

Very sweet fragrance. I can smell boozy fruity in the opening. I think this isn't generic and boring smell it a decent smell. Good for a night out and cold weather. Cloying on hot days. The price is low. the bottle looks unique. Moderate projection 1-2hrs. 4+hrs on my skin, it lasts longer on clothes. Rating: 6/10 (give headache if I overspray, I like but not love)

To sum up, Start with (very) short burst of gin then quickly turn into sweet and powdery scent. I don't think Juniper and Gin is the main note as described as the key are iris and powdery woods. I like the bottle design and their concept but it can't bring me to upvote for this sweetness so just meh for me. Cool water is still the best from Davidoff house.

A synthetic spicy opening with no personality and dominant note ( perhaps lemon or rotten tangerine ) if you sprat more ( like 5-6 ) after a few hours it turns completely into a Davidoff Cool Water. If you spray less, it immediately turns into a woody something. One of the most impersonal and generic perfumes I ever used.

It actually smells like a casino. It's like an expensive room air freshener. I got it because it was 20 euro on the airplane and I didn't even try it. Not my taste.

Candy iris. The berries and gin make iris sweet? Dry down is sweet powdery woods. Like sweet candy iris in Prada Lhomme.

Simply, uninspired and boring combination. Sure, sometimes less is more, but in this case it doesn’t working. Nothing other, than iris and wood from the top to the base. The top note is blast of juniper berry, and this is great, but after 10 minutes the whole scent become a generic iris-woody perfume. The drydown is a harsh, strong woody note. Not bad, not good, simply boring, I don’t like it. - Good on spring/fall/winter days, better for night than day - The sillage and the longevity are good, better then average, 6-7 hours - Safe blind buy Scent (open, top-mid): 7/10 (x2) Scent (drydown, base): 6/10 (x2) Sillage: 6/10 Longevity: 7.5/10 Uniqueness: 7/10 Versatility: 6.5/10 Total: 6.625/10

Being a fan of Davidoff I was put on track to try this fragrance ment for the younger audience than most Davidoff products. One if the most irrelevant and synthetic smelling fragrances I have come across on my scent journey. Almost no effort has been put into making this fragrance irresistible like many other Davidoff fragrances. the bottle is cheap and low quality. What you sit back with when you have purchased this is a certain amount of ill smelling crap that is only good as a toilet freshener spray when faced with such challenge. A classic big mistake scent made by Coty and it is nothing but a crap and waste of space fragrance. Overall Rating: 2/10

I usually like Davidoff fragrances but have to admit to not being too fond of "The Game". Just a bit too strong, synthetic and sickly. People have compared it to One million and I'm not a fan of that either, the fact that my clubbing days are well behind me (i'm more a festivals/gig person) might have something to do with that thou. To me smells a bit strange and I would not be at ease wearing this. I have a 20ml Card deck, if anyone wants to trade for anything PM me.
