Escándalo

Finally decided to purchase a full bottle after going through a sample and a travel size. I love this, I wasn’t sold on needing a full bottle when I first smelled it, but over time its become one of my favorites. This is a fruity guava fragrance with clean linen vibes. It also has a zingy ginger/lime opening and a little bit of rose in the dry down, but they are not the stars of this fragrance for me. If I hadn’t seen oud in the notes I never would have guessed it was there, it’s an extremely clean, woody smelling oud that is not very prominent. This lasts FOREVER, one day I decided to spray one spray on my arm a couple hours before I went to bed, and the next day at work I had a coworker tell me i smelled “really nice, and like fruity, but not like middle school fruity” this was around 10 hours after i sprayed, and she was standing about 3 feet away from me. I do get a slight resemblance to MFK 724, but it is only a SLIGHT resemblance, I have not smelled anything that is truly similar to this. This leans slightly feminine in my opinion, but overall its still unisex so I could see a man wearing it.

For all the hype Erba Pura gets, this beats it hands down. Tropical, fruity, musky in the best way. In the opening, the citrus profile is bright and you can detect a woody background. The musk vibe I wanna say comes from the Orcanox and carries a salty edge. As it dries down, the citrus gets softer but stays throughout. This is the only fragrance I've had where the citrus isnt gone in in the first two hours! I wouldn't have expected Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Eaglewood to anchor this fragrance in the way they do, but it incredibly enjoyable. Its sweet, but not overly so...just enough to pair with the limon dulce and guava. This to me is a summer and fall fragrance. It's strong enough for the colder weather, but for me, the scent profile feels better suited to day parties, warm Saturdays, and late night conversations on the beach. Criminally underrated, I guarantee people will discover this a few years from now and realize what a masterpiece this truly is.

I’m from New York City, whenever I smell this it reminds me of some of my Dominican friends. I’m not sure how to describe it but it smells like skin but fruit (guava) and something floral too. So imagine your holding slices of guava and one flower and just smash them together. I know it’s kinda weird how I’m describing it, but this is scary good. I bought the discover set from this house and of all the fragrances that were in the set, this and Downtown Deja Vu stood out way above the others, this takes the top spot only because the opening of Downtown Deja Vu (which is number 4 in my top 5 openings ever, even over the opening of this fragrance) goes away a little too quick for me. Last 7-9 hours depending on the amount of sprays & projects hard for the first 2 hours. I will be buying a full bottle of this at some point this month.

This is so good. Juicy tropical fruits and florals. There is a texture of it that reminds me of Fzotic's Unsettled minus Pineapple plus guava (and the guava + rose combo also reminds me very slightly of Fontevraud). Best for spring and summer, may work well in Fall. Even though it is an extrait de parfum and may guarantee the higher pricetag, performance wise it's slightly overpriced. I have been testing Bani and Escandalo side by side for more than two weeks and still cannot decide which one I'm getting a full bottle (I LOVE both of them but my budget doesn't) --and Bani is always the more pronounced and longer lasting on me.

THIS is what a fresh laundry perfume should smell like. Ethereal, warm, clean, and beautiful. Guava and lime linger, although they are top notes. The florals are so well done. The blend is amazing, Michael did an incredible job making this slightly green, fresh floral gem! ETA: the presentation of oud here is pure genius. It’s a clean, soft and reserved oud with a deep and mysterious presence that completely grounds this scent while also elevating it. Incredible!
