Midnight Raspberry

I can see how someone might get Oud Wood from this since its a western style oud. Even though its definitely not 1 to 1. The oud in here is clean, it's not fecal, animalic or barnyardy. At the same time its not super synthetic or overly medicinal... while its not the most complex oud, It has an interesting dimension and an airy character to it. It is definitely blended in with the musk, ceder and spices. The rasberry note in it (at least on my skin), is not super jammy. Fresh rasberries to me are tart with an earthy hint. 'jammy' to me would be a sugary rasberry jelly, to me this is somewhere in between the two. Imagine the rasberry in Tuscan Leather, but more ripe, and it has a chocolate back bone instead of leather (maybe its why its perceived as "sweet" and "jammy". It has that dark chocolate feel to it that is a bit similar to what you might find in Noir de Noir. I think its a great winter time, date night fragrance. Im a big fan of clean, western ouds and raspberry. In layman's terms... (even though none of them are 1 to 1) imagine: Tom Ford - Oud Wood, with the rasberry opening from Tuscan Leather, with the dark chocolaty nuances from Noir De Noir I would say this is a unisex fragrance, leaning more masculine. Some men might perceive the rasberry + dark chocolate notes as more feminine leaning, while some women might perceive the oud/woodyness + spices as more masculine. It has decent longevity , it does last on my skin 8+ hours, and I could definitely smell it on clothes the next day. The projection is petty intimate/moderate it sits relativity close. It is within your personal bubble. Its one of them intimate date night scents that is meant to discovered. I would put it in a similar category as TF Noir Extreme. The sillage is not bad , it does have a beautiful soft and airy scent trail. It smells very good in the air . My wife tried it on, and walking right behind her I could pick up the scent. Based on scent alone I would give it ~9, as I love clean ouds, woods, fruits, and chocolaty, musky and spicy nuances. I could say I wish the projection was better, but for my case use for this fragrance its just fine. If the fragrance was more synthetics heavy, it would probably project much better, but I don't think it would smell is good. At the price MSRP I would rate it 8, as it is a bit steep, but once retail and discounters start carrying it sub $180 rage, I think it would actually be a great fragrances for the price.

Sampling the most recent release from Day Three Fragrances, a subtly sharp, semi-sweet blend of raspberry, cedar, pink pepper, coriander, saffron, and oud. Tart and sweet raspberry plays against a spicy woody mix, which seems very much in balance, without any single element standing out negatively. The raspberry blends into the saffron and spices, especially, and particularly as the fragrance dries down, it’s challenging to discern where the raspberry ends and other elements begin, but the raspberry does at least remain a good part of the mix well into the dry down, even though some of the elements predictably start to take over a bit. I find it to be a good mix of provocation and comfort; it demands attention but is well-constructed, somewhat smooth but also sharp in a way that catches the nose, and begs to be smelled over and over, perhaps the best single sign of a fragrance. It feels like a bit of an homage to the house’s discontinued Silent Rescue and Midnight Whisper, sharing some features with each, so it’s nice to see their legacy in Midnight Raspberry. It is extrait concentration and is therefore at a higher price point than most of the line’s EDPs, at $250 for 50ml, and is currently only sold on the house website, but I expect it will soon be available via other points of sale in the US, including great boutiques like Perfumology. Overall, I’m big fan of the scent, but the pricing makes it a bit more challenging to onboard. It’s hard to deny the quality and creativity of the work, though, so bravo to Michael Paul for yet another outstanding release. 8 out of 10

I happen to live Arizona just down the road from the Day Three Fragrances flagship boutique which is how I was introduced to this wonderful niche brand and the awesome family behind Day Three. After smelling all the samples in my Discovery set there were several that I thoroughly enjoyed. I knew there were several that I wanted to purchase full bottles of, but the three that stuck out the most to me were Midnight Raspberry, Aylan, and La Tacita de Cafe. The raspberry Accord that Michael developed for Midnight Raspberry is a very realistic, fresh raspberry scent. However, the oud, patchouli, and musk keep the raspberry from smelling over-the-top fruity and give this scent a tart, very deep, dark profile. It wears pretty close to my skin - definitely not a skin scent, but it isn't so loud as to be cloying and annoying to those around me. It is one of the longest lasting fragrances in the Day Three lineup on my skin and I'm definitely happy to own a bottle. If you haven't checked out this brand yet, I would definitely suggest that you put your nose on all of their fragrances and check out their story. I recently got a discovery set. Midnight Raspberry happened to included, this was my first time checking out this house. I kept hearing good things about Day Three so I decided to get a discovery set. I did a livestream yesterday on my YT channel. Micheal Paul happened to pop in and he could tell by my reactions. I was moved in a way not many fragrances can move me, Midnight Raspberry is a solid winner in my eyes. I love how it opens and then it’s smooth sailing from there. It’s perfect for fall, winter, and evening wear.

This is the first raspberry and oud fragrance that was love at first sniff for me. No animalic facets and the fruit is not cloyingly sweet. Beautifully smooth and perfect for autumnal and winter wear.This puts me in my holiday "feels" and I cannot wait to cozy up to this scent bubble. The woody and musky components provide depth and the saffron deliciously blankets the fragrance. This is a great introduction to oud that is completely wearable and approachable. Excellent job Michael Paul and the Day Three team!!!!!

I just got a sample in. I was very pleasantly surprised. I don't lean into oud very often. This has a jammy sweetness that seeps in on the far drydown. A soft woodiness is present- not a loud oud at all. It is very slightly drizzled with a thin stream of dark chocolate. There is some spice, too. I have been outside in chilly, sunny, breeziness and I am getting lovely wafts off my skin. My sweater is holding onto the scent very well several hours in. This is beautiful.

I smelled this for the first time today and must say it’s a perfect sweet winter Raspberry/Oud scent. The Oud is not prominent here, but instead it’s used to take the edge off, preventing things from getting too sweet. It reminds me a lot of a discontinued middle Eastern Niche that I loved for so long (and still fight for its return). I don’t really smell the resemblance to Tom Ford’s Oud Wood. Projection here is moderate from my experience.

I bought this fragrance back in December for my birthday, had an amazing dinner and this was all my wife kept mentioning all night , beautiful lingering Fragrance but it was close to the skin , I just wore this for the first time since then and HOOOLLLY This is beast mode now with out a doubt my favorite date night fragrance. I’m here thinking about getting a back up bottle. Great job day three !!!

So I bought this fragrance back in December and while I loved the fragrance profile, I was disappointed at the sillage and protection but I love the fragrance profile. I did not wear it until Saturday again and boy oh boy this is a lot more diffusive now . My lady couldn’t keep her hands off me and the next day I can still smell it on me. This is truly a masterpiece.

This is a really amazing scent. Reading the notes it sounds like it’s going to be just another raspberry Oud which seems to be popular at the moment but this is anything but! Right at the top the pink peppercorn really stands out to me creating a warm inviting scent with subtle sweetness from the raspberry. This one is a masterpiece and should not be slept on!

This is the Smoothest Oud Raspberry I have ever tried!!! The most sophisticated best best-smelling, elegant fragrance in my Arsenal. So good, I bought them for my son-in-law and daughter to wear to the Marine Ball!!! Long-lasting excellent raspberry non-fecal but smooth oud, and owning several fragrances of this profile this is simply the best!!!!

I blind bought Midnight Raspberry based on the few reviews. I don't do this, but i was so pleasantly impressed with the way this smells. To me, this smells like a warm buttered Raspberry pastry. Some gourmand fragrances aren't wearable ( like Ojan from PDM)but this is such a smooth smelling scent. An absolute love for me.

What a great fragrance. Raspberry is tucked in the background here. On skin, I get this beautiful very mildly sweet woody chocolate raspberry accompanied by the spice from the coriander. The musk on dry down just adds to the experience. VERY classy and grown up feeling. Another huge winner from the house!

Best fragrance of 2025 for sure, the oud is woody and sweet and really helps elevate the chocolate raspberry smell. The raspberry is very evident and rich id say. Soft spices in the background were blended very well. My new favorite fragrance

This was a shocker. I had high hopes for this and it turned out to be the only real disappointment of the entire discovery set. Not that its a bad scent but it seems my expectations were a bit too high. Especially since this is priced at almost an extra $100 from the rest of the line. Not sure if that is from the materials needed or blending process but yikes. Certainly evokes a chocolate covered raspberry. But if you plan to get noticed from it, you need to do it in the first 30 minutes. It is almost a skin scent on me and lasts just at around 4 hours. Shame. For me, there are better options in this space. Some equate it fo Pardon. I don't see that but certainly would take Pardon over this. I don't have much experience with Oud Wood so can't compare. But what is there is nice and not overly sweet. I will chalk this up to my anticipation and not label it as a bad scent. Because it certainly isn't. Just wasn't what I was hoping for.

I get raspberry liquor, Sweet but not too sweet..A nice clean smelling oud, Some leather and cocoa. It's like a Godiva chocolate truffle filled with raspberry liquor. It's a nice masculine scent for the colder weather.

I have many of Day Three’s fragrances and while this smells good it didn’t knock my socks off like Aylan. Additionally, I didn’t get much longevity or sillage after multiple wears. MR is definitely higher priced than the others in their collection. Due to the higher price, I expected to be impressed right out of the gate and sadly, I wasn’t. Don’t get me wrong... It smells good, but not $250 good. I still love Day Three and believe in their products and will buy future scents.

I regret purchasing this fragrance. The scent is disappointing, with extremely poor sillage and longevity. At this price point, there are countless better options available. Many of the positive reviews online feel more like paid promotions than genuine, unbiased opinions. Don’t waste your money.

Today I'm reviewing Midnight Raspberry, the final Day Three fragrance that I currently have a sample of, and fittingly, the most expensive offering in the house's catalog. After spending the past several days exploring Day Three, I've come away thoroughly impressed with what they've accomplished. From the immersive storytelling of Desert Rain and Edge of Eden to the indulgent gourmands like Tres Oros and La Tacita de Cafe, and the rich amber and Coca-Cola profile of Ambar Dominicano, the house has consistently demonstrated a willingness to create fragrances that feel original without sacrificing wearability. Looking at Midnight Raspberry, however, I immediately get the sense that Day Three is taking on a more familiar style of niche perfumery. The combination of oud, saffron, patchouli, ambergris, and musk forms a foundation that will be instantly recognizable to anyone who enjoys modern niche fragrances, while the raspberry promises to inject a brighter, fruitier twist into an otherwise dark composition. Having saved the flagship, and most expensive, fragrance for last, my expectations are understandably high. If Day Three can put its own identity on this well established DNA while delivering the level of quality I've come to expect throughout this series, Midnight Raspberry has the potential to be a fitting finale to what has been a very enjoyable journey through the house. Opening: The opening is woody, fruity, and spicy. The primary notes I get are Vietnamese oud, raspberry, cedar, and saffron, with the oud and raspberry leading the composition. The Vietnamese oud is the first note to hit my nose, immediately establishing a deep and commanding woody accord with just a hint of funk lingering underneath. Despite being specifically labeled as Vietnamese oud, its presentation is surprisingly Western in style. Rather than leaning into the heavily animalic, medicinal, or barnyard facets that oud can sometimes display, it is smooth, polished, and highly wearable, immediately reminding me of the type of oud used in Tom Ford's Oud Wood. The raspberry joins the oud in nearly equal measure, introducing a juicy, dark berry sweetness with a noticeable tart edge. Compared to the raspberry notes I've encountered in fragrances like Tuscan Leather, Angels' Share Paradis, or Back to Black, the fruit here feels considerably darker and heavier, integrating itself into the woods rather than sitting brightly above them. The cedar layers in underneath, reinforcing the already prominent woodiness with a noticeably drier, cleaner, and more timbery character that gives the composition additional structure. Lastly, the saffron rounds out the opening with a gentle blanket of warm, luxurious spice underscored by subtle suede facets, while the patchouli contributes flashes of dusty, earthy woodiness from deeper within the composition. The result is an opening that is astonishingly woods forward for a fragrance named Midnight Raspberry. It feels closer to a fruit accented interpretation of Oud Wood than a dark raspberry fragrance, although the noticeable presence of the namesake fruit in these opening moments provides enough sweetness and contrast to keep the dense woody foundation from becoming too one dimensional. Dry Down: The dry down is woody, earthy, and spicy. The primary notes I get are Vietnamese oud, cedar, patchouli, and saffron, with the oud and cedar leading the composition. If the opening already felt surprisingly wood centric, the dry down doubles down on that identity. The Vietnamese oud remains firmly in control with the same deep, polished, Westernized oud accord, retaining its subtle funky undertone without ever becoming particularly animalic or challenging. The cedar has now risen considerably in prominence, essentially taking the place previously occupied by the raspberry and bringing with it a much larger dose of dry, clean, timbery woodiness. Together, the oud and cedar form an overwhelmingly woody backbone that dominates the remainder of the wearing experience. Meanwhile, the patchouli has also gained considerable strength, allowing the dusty, earthy facets that quietly lingered underneath the opening to become much more pronounced and giving the woods a darker, slightly rugged texture. Lastly, the saffron continues to provide subtle warmth from underneath, combining dry spice with its familiar soft suede character. The raspberry remains faintly perceptible as a residual dark sweetness, but it has largely surrendered the spotlight to the woods by this stage. The result is a dry down that edges even closer to Oud Wood territory and further separates itself from what the name Midnight Raspberry initially suggests, trading much of the opening's fruity contrast for something drier, earthier, and considerably more rugged. Performance: The initial projection within the first hour is massive, easily reaching across and filling a room without requiring heavy application. Sillage matches that intensity with a dense, heavy scent trail that makes Midnight Raspberry immediately noticeable to anyone nearby. After about three to four hours, the fragrance begins to settle somewhat, although projection is still hovering around six feet and the scent trail remains easily noticeable. By the eight to nine hour mark, the projection has drawn in considerably and settles within arm's length, while the sillage becomes much lighter and only faintly noticeable behind the wearer. The fragrance transitions into a skin scent shortly afterward. Overall, this is a strong technical performer, particularly considering how aggressively it projects throughout the first several hours. More importantly, that performance complements the dense woody profile exceptionally well. It has enough strength and presence to feel substantial in suitable weather without maintaining its room filling intensity for the entirety of the wearing experience. When to Wear: Midnight Raspberry is firmly a fall and winter fragrance and, in my opinion, is best suited for evening wear. The dense combination of oud, cedar, patchouli, and saffron carries considerable weight, making this a fragrance that feels much more natural against cold air than underneath the heat of the sun. Its darker woody character also gives it a surprising amount of versatility within those colder months. It could easily function as a cozy casual fragrance for evenings at home or nights around town, particularly for someone who naturally gravitates toward woody fragrances. At the same time, the polished oud, saffron, and restrained raspberry sweetness give it enough of an upscale character to transition effortlessly into date nights, special occasions, or formal wear. In fact, I think this is one of the more naturally formal fragrances I've experienced from Day Three because it feels mature and luxurious without relying on excessive sweetness or florals to create that impression. I would avoid wearing it to the office, however. The combination of its darker profile and particularly aggressive opening performance could easily become overwhelming in a confined professional environment. Blind Buy: I would not consider Midnight Raspberry to be a safe blind buy for a couple of important reasons. The biggest issue is that the name does not accurately communicate the actual wearing experience. A fragrance called Midnight Raspberry naturally creates the expectation of a dark, fruit forward composition built predominantly around raspberry, and that simply is not what I experience here. Raspberry is certainly noticeable, particularly in the opening, but it never overtakes the dense woody foundation and becomes increasingly secondary as the fragrance dries down. Someone purchasing this specifically because they love raspberry fragrances could therefore come away confused or disappointed. The second consideration is the oud. Although this is a smooth, highly wearable, Westernized interpretation without the aggressive animalic qualities associated with more traditional oud, it remains the central character of the fragrance. Anyone who generally dislikes oud is unlikely to suddenly change their mind here. Finally, Midnight Raspberry sits at a higher price point than the other fragrances I've sampled from Day Three, raising the stakes of an uninformed purchase even further. Between the potentially misleading name, prominent oud, and increased cost, sampling this on skin before committing to a full bottle is essential. Final Verdict: Having deliberately saved the most expensive Day Three fragrance for last, I went into Midnight Raspberry wondering exactly what justified its elevated position within the house's catalog. After wearing it extensively on skin, I came away understanding that decision in some respects, while still having questions in others. The Vietnamese oud used here certainly smells high quality, and I would imagine that particular material contributes heavily to the increased cost. It is deep, smooth, substantial, and carries just enough funk to give it character without compromising wearability. Paired with the cedar, earthy patchouli, suede tinged saffron, and dark raspberry sweetness, it creates a polished and cohesive fragrance that once again demonstrates the blending quality I've consistently encountered throughout my exploration of Day Three. Where Midnight Raspberry loses me somewhat is in its identity. Day Three usually does a wonderful job naming fragrances in a way that communicates either their scent profile or the atmosphere they're attempting to create, but I think they missed the mark here. Raspberry is absolutely present, especially in the opening, but it never feels like the centerpiece that the name implies. The woods are the real star of the show, and as the fragrance develops, that becomes increasingly obvious. Anyone blind buying this expecting a deep exploration of dark raspberry could therefore be in for quite a surprise. Taken strictly for what it actually smells like rather than what its name suggests, however, Midnight Raspberry is an excellent woody fragrance with strong performance, quality ingredients, and a particularly compelling resemblance to Tom Ford's Oud Wood. For someone who loves Oud Wood but has been frustrated by its notoriously subpar performance, I think Midnight Raspberry presents an interesting alternative that delivers considerably more presence while still coming in at a lower price. For me personally, that similarity ultimately works against it. I already own Oud Wood, and considering it is not something I find myself reaching for particularly often, adding another fragrance occupying a similar space would be difficult to justify. Midnight Raspberry closes out my exploration of Day Three as another impressively crafted release, but it will ultimately be one that I admire rather than add to my collection. This is a beautifully done raspberry. Reminds me of fresh raspberries simmered over low heat with sugar until they become thick, rich, and smooth. The raspberry is beautifully housed in a stunning sweet oud that perfectly balances the fragrance into a sultry masterpiece! I feel like it is completely unisex, and I have been so excited for it's release since I tried it at a boutique in Nashville. This is definitely not another variation of any other fragrance, and is definitely little black dress worthy.

Surprisingly woody in such a nice way. SO Happy to find an oudy woody scent without screamwood! The raspberry is a whisper only, but it perks up the woody melange with a hint of brightness. I mostly get dark woods like walnut or teak sawdust with a touch of what smells like real oud (or a very good synthetic)with very faint musk at the end to add a smoothness. I think this should be called something else considering how little berry shows up, but as a woody midnight scent, it’s great.

Airy, musky, warmly spiced raspberry and ambergris with distant cedar and synthetic oud notes. Getting the patchouli as well. I don't see why this is priced higher than the other day three offerings. No real wow factor upon my first sprays. Projection seems bad. Longevity might be ok, but I haven't tested that yet. So far I'm 0 for 4 with day three. Aylan, Tacita, Filosofia, and this haven't been impressive

Got a sample of this in. The opening is fantastic. It does quickly though and becomes something similar to oud wood by tom ford. I like it but not sure if it’s worth the price. Wish the opening stayed longer

There is ZERO real oud in this lol
