Today's review continues my exploration of the house of Day Three with Tres Oros. Having now experienced several offerings from the brand, one characteristic has become increasingly apparent: Day Three isn't content with simply following established fragrance trends. Whether recreating the atmosphere of a desert rainstorm or modernizing the classic rose-and-oud formula, the house has consistently demonstrated a willingness to approach familiar ideas from fresh and creative perspectives. Tres Oros, literally translating to "Three Golds", appears to continue that philosophy, but through an entirely different lens. Rather than focusing on abstract landscapes or traditional perfumery structures, the fragrance centers itself around a rich gourmand composition built from tropical fruit, warm spices, brown sugar, honey, and amber. The inclusion of plantain immediately distinguishes the note pyramid from countless other sweet fragrances on the market, suggesting that this is aiming for something more evocative and culturally inspired than a conventional dessert fragrance. With Day Three having already established a strong track record throughout my exploration of the house, my expectations remain high. The question is whether Tres Oros can successfully transform such an unusual collection of edible notes into a sophisticated and wearable fragrance, or if it ultimately leans too heavily into gourmand territory. Let's find out whether Tres Oros continues Day Three's impressive streak or becomes the first fragrance from the house that struggles to satisfy my expectations. Opening: The opening is sweet, spicy, and fruity. The primary notes I get are honey, cinnamon, pineapple, and plantain, with the honey and cinnamon leading the composition. The honey immediately bursts onto the skin as a thick, golden sweetness. It presents as rich, sticky nectar with subtle floral nuances and just a whisper of the animalic character that immediately reminds me of the honey found in Zoologist Bee, albeit considerably toned down and far more approachable. Joining it at the forefront is the cinnamon, introducing a warm, dry spice that leans more toward comforting woody warmth than sugary, bakery-style sweetness. Beneath these richer accords sits the pineapple, contributing a dense, juicy tropical fruit note. While it's tempting to compare any pineapple note to Aventus, the pineapple here couldn't be more different. Rather than bright, sparkling, and effervescent, it feels deeper, heavier, and almost syrupy. Finally, the plantain rounds out the opening with one of the most unusual notes I've encountered in recent memory. It possesses a starchy, slightly creamy fruitiness that is noticeably denser than banana, carrying subtle earthy nuances alongside an almost caramelized quality that is reinforced by the toasted warmth of the brown sugar lurking beneath the surface. The result is an opening that fully embraces gourmand perfumery, centering itself around sticky honey, warm spices, and rich tropical fruit. Interestingly, the combination of these notes briefly creates an unmistakable aroma that reminds me of a bowl of Froot Loops cereal. Dry Down: The dry down is sweet, fruity, and warm. The primary notes I get are honey, plantain, brown sugar, and cinnamon, with the honey and plantain now leading the composition. The honey continues to dominate, but its character changes noticeably as the fragrance settles. The subtle floral and animalic nuances present during the opening gradually disappear, leaving behind a smoother, purer golden sweetness. Meanwhile, the plantain, which initially played more of a supporting role, rises dramatically to the forefront. It becomes richer and creamier with time, almost resembling mashed bananas while still retaining the denser character that separates plantain from a traditional banana accord. Alongside it, the brown sugar becomes increasingly prominent, contributing deep caramelized sweetness and toasted warmth that, when combined with the plantain, creates an accord remarkably reminiscent of bananas foster. The cinnamon quietly retreats into the background, now serving as a delicate dusting of warm spice rather than one of the fragrance's primary focal points. I also begin to notice a subtle glow from the amber in the base, adding gentle resinous warmth beneath the gourmand profile. Interestingly, the Froot Loops impression that immediately stood out during the opening has completely disappeared by this stage, replaced by a far richer, more cohesive dessert-like accord. The result is a dry down where the individual notes begin to melt together, creating an indulgent gourmand composition that feels comforting, rich, and remarkably natural. Performance: The initial projection during the first hour is extremely strong, easily filling a room without requiring excessive application. The sillage matches that performance, producing a dense scent trail that remains unmistakably present around the wearer. Even after approximately four hours, Tres Oros shows virtually no signs of slowing down, continuing to project with the same authority while maintaining its heavy scent trail. Around the eight to nine hour mark, the projection finally begins to settle, still reaching roughly four to five feet while the scent trail softens to a clearly noticeable but more controlled level. The fragrance officially becomes a skin scent somewhere around the eleven to twelve hour mark, delivering the kind of outstanding technical performance that I've come to expect from Day Three's fragrances. When to Wear: Tres Oros is unmistakably a fall and winter fragrance that feels most at home during the evening. Its rich sweetness, warm spices, and comforting gourmand character make it a fantastic choice for date nights, anniversaries, or any occasion where an inviting fragrance is appropriate. I could also see it functioning beautifully as a cozy casual fragrance during colder months, whether relaxing at home or spending a cool afternoon around town. However, its dessert-like profile feels a bit too indulgent for formal occasions, while its sweetness and projection would likely overwhelm most office environments. Blind Buy: Of the Day Three fragrances I've experienced so far, Tres Oros comes the closest to being a safe blind buy. Despite its unmistakably gourmand identity, there are very few truly challenging elements within the composition. The honey is certainly bold during the opening, but it never reaches the intensely hyper-realistic and animalic territory occupied by fragrances like Zoologist Bee. For anyone who already enjoys rich gourmand fragrances built around honey, fruits, and warm spices, I think Tres Oros would be a relatively safe purchase. For everyone else, however, I still recommend sampling first. This fragrance fully embraces sweetness, and while I find that incredibly appealing, it won't necessarily suit every taste. Final Verdict: Tres Oros is one of those rare fragrances that completely won me over within moments of the first spray. I'll freely admit that I'm a sucker for well-executed gourmands, and especially for fragrances built around a beautiful honey accord. Tres Oros immediately scratches that itch with its rich golden honey, warm cinnamon, caramelized brown sugar, and tropical fruits, creating a profile that feels comforting, indulgent, and surprisingly distinctive despite relying on familiar gourmand themes. What impressed me most, however, was the inclusion of the plantain. It's a note that I rarely encounter in perfumery, yet it gives Tres Oros an identity that separates it from many other sweet fragrances. Combined with the pineapple and evolving into that bananas foster-like accord during the dry down, it prevents the fragrance from feeling like just another vanilla-and-caramel gourmand. Instead, it establishes a personality that feels playful, memorable, and genuinely original. My collection already contains several honey-focused fragrances that I absolutely love, including Naxos, Back to Black, Pure Havane, and even Day Three's own Ambar Dominicano. Despite sharing honey as a common thread, Tres Oros never feels redundant alongside any of them. The tropical fruit, caramelized plantain, and distinctive gourmand progression allow it to occupy its own space within the genre rather than simply repeating ideas I already own. When you combine that originality with the exceptional performance that has become something of a hallmark for Day Three, the result is another excellent release from the house. While it isn't a fragrance that I feel compelled to purchase immediately, it's one that I can absolutely see earning a place in my collection down the road. For anyone who enjoys rich, honey-forward gourmands but is looking for something that offers a fresh twist on the genre, Tres Oros is an easy recommendation. Arrived today! Another top quality scent. The amber is very old school here, maybe the craze needs the old school brown amber accord back, not the nuclear, un-scrubbable ambrofix. This is very honey, amber, cinnamon, pineapple and plantain are there, more so plantain. Absolutely classical sexy delicious, this house does not miss. The blending is insane here, and the scent grows after 5 minutes, into the citrus kiss, almost old man smelling amber. Don't let that discredit my critique! This is divine, nothing stands alone, and that old man amber is REFRESHING with the plantain and sugar. I know I have been hyping D3F lately, but it's deserved. This is one of the sexiest things I've ever smelled, up there with Tom Ford noir extreme parfum, anything parfum de Marley really, thinking about it now, this smells like Althair from PdM, but with more class, and a striking stand out amber. Pure sex in a bottle. I believe this is something that qualifies as a consensual, under garment remover. EDIT performance, the sillage is wide reaching for 45 minutes or so, the it becomes a trail. You get whiff of it through the breeze. Carries very well. I think the performance is SLIGHTLY behind something like electimuss or xerjoff, by comparison, but this is sexy elegance for 5-7 solid hours, skin dependent. Afterwards becomes a solid natural amber cinnamon skin scent, the amber and musk used here are insanely good.. Scent 9.5 / 10 Performance 6 / 10

You're immediately hit with a punch of spice that quickly settles and invites a wave of juicy, sweet fruits, namely pineapple and banana. The banana comes across as unripe — which I'm assuming is the plantains and gives it a green earthy smell — while the pineapple adds a bright, juicy sweetness that keeps everything lively and bright. As it settles, the spice softens and becomes more balsamic and slightly powdery. There’s a creamy smoothness that wraps everything together, giving it this warm presence. It feels cozy and inviting — the spice gives it lift while grounding the sweetness so it never becomes cloying. There’s also a subtle tropical vibe but I'm not sure how it would do in high heat since it's still rather sweet, but it does feel sunny and uplifting. The name meaning “three golds” fits perfectly — it smells golden, shimmery, and radiant. The heart of green plantains giving off a touch of banana sweetness, backed by ripe, juicy pineapple, all lightly drizzled with honey. Gourmand lovers will eat this up and even non-gourmand fans might be surprised by how much they enjoy it. As my first introduction to Day Three as a house, I’m absolutely blown away. Between this and La Tacita de Café, they deserve all the hype — the blends are rich, unique, and incredibly well done.

First proper sampling of the most recent release from Day Three Fragrances, Tres Oros, which I first smelled at its launch event at Perfumology a week and a half ago. Inspired by Dominican cake, it blends cinnamon, honey, plantains, brown sugar, pineapple, and amber, a rich, golden, sweet, but not too cake-ish gourmand expression, really the house’s first true gourmand (despite there being some sweetness in several prior entries), and I think it’ll be here to stay for a bit. It’s very easy to wear while also standing out in a positive way, an elegant gourmand, the warmth of its background and conception translating well into a wearable, lovely scent that’s likely to be mass-appealing while still being quite special, with good density and longevity. As with the rest of the line, Tres Oros is priced at $155 for 50ml currently, very reasonable in the current market, I’d argue, and as with some of the house’s offerings, it’s extrait concentration (though most of the house’s are EDP, to date). I think I’ll have to add it to my list “to buy” from this house. 8 out of 10

Cold spring day. Wearing this. 4 sprays. Lying in bed. I imagine I'm in a hammock, next to a bar. The bartender is making orange flavored drinks, while a thick, brickhouse Dominican woman lays on top of me, spoon feeding me cinnamon plantain every few minutes. Her skin is glowing amber 😍 unisex smell, it's just so delightful, it plays into your dreams of sensuality.. the amber here is so strong, someone said "this smells a bit too perfumey.." that's how it smells when you bury your nose into it. In the air, it's absolutely divine. Sweet, aromatic love making. Bravo D3F, Michael Paul, Bravo! *Ohhh let me reply to the Khamrah comment too! YES! This smells like khamrah, probably 75% but you should be able to tell the ingredients are definitely a higher quality. The cinnamon has definitely bathed in some sweet sweet satolone (think Followed by Kerosene) and had that orange, pineapple juice drizzled on top. I do agree khamrah, but khamrahs slightly older sibling that has a job and bright smile..

Tres Oros feels like a sun-drenched afternoon, bursting open with the cheerful notes of mandarin and pineapple that instantly lift your spirits. It transitions into a heart that reminds me of my favorite dessert—a warm pineapple cake. The amazing sweet, buttery plantains and a hint of cinnamon blend together in a delightful embrace that gives me the right amount of sweetness. Tres Oros settles into a cozy wrap of honey, brown sugar, and amber, like the comforting finish of a perfect slice. Wearing this fragrance feels like indulging in a tropical treat, inviting you to savor life’s sweetest moments, one sniff at a time.

Dare I call this a perfect gourmand? Its beautifully sweet without being saccharine. The cinnamon comes through without overpowering with spice, and honey masterfully blend all of the notes together into such a comforting fragrance. I live in a cooler climate, where we don't get weather hotter than the mid 70's, so I will use it year round. I find it lasts moderately on me, about 4 hours before fading down to more of a skin scent. This is something you want to overspray upon application, and maybe once more (lightly) midday. This is a bottle that I will continue to keep in my collection.

This opens up like a orange and pineapple morir soñando (a tropical milk and orange drink), and transitions into a well blended caramelized plantain drizzled with honey and cinnamon. The cinnamon adds a tiny bit of warmth, but is not a prominent note, to my nose. I can see the comparison to Lattafah Khamrah, but don't let that sway you - it's much better blended, slightly less sweet, and much more tropical. I could see this being worn any time of year, but I really want to wear this on a beach, as it isn't an exceptionally loud or cloying fragrance.

This scent opens with a burst of juicy pineapple, but as it dries down, it transforms beautifully on my skin into a warm blend of cinnamon and honey—still carrying that pineapple essence. Imagine a dessert where you layer fresh pineapple slices with honey, cinnamon, and a sprinkle of brown sugar, then gently warm it—this perfume smells exactly like that. It’s not overly sweet, but just sweet enough—like a dessert so delicious you keep going back for more.

Like most Day Three fragrances, Fantastic scent with abysmal performance. Basically last twenty minutes before becoming a skin scent. It’s a shame as they really have some great scents if you don’t mind spending $200 on a 50 ml bottle you need to reapply through out the day. Good thing with Tres Ores is it’s one of the few gourmand forward fragrances that’s so weak it can be used even in very warm weather.

What gets me here is that vanilla isn’t playing backup, it’s driving the whole thing, but with real depth and texture. You’ve got that smooth, almost cashmere-like softness wrapped around spice, rose, and oud, so it feels rich without getting heavy or sticky. I’m talking about this because it’s comforting, elevated, and just flat-out addictive in a quiet, confident way. This is blind-buy worthy!💯

I was able to get my nose on Tres Oros at scentxplore back in December. It wasn’t on showcase but, Micheal gave us exclusive access to try on skin. There are only 2 fragrances that stuck out to me the entire convention. Tres Oros is. This is like a pineapple cake brûlée. Decidedly gourmand without too much baking spice. I cannot wait to get this one in my collection.

This fragrance has me a bit perplexed, in a good way. I get what people are saying with the Khamrah comparison, no this doesn’t smell like Khamrah but it shares the freshly baked good sweetness that Khamrah has, but then it has something way different going on in the background, I suspect this is the plantain & something else. I’m buying this one hundred percent.

You better like sweet gourmand sticky fragrances that smells like a dessert, because this is what it is. I love it when I'm in the mood and it is long lasting as one would suspect with the notes. Rarely see plantain as a note which makes this unique in a good way. I dig this fragrance and look forward to more cold weather wearing.

Tres Oros is AMAZING! I have every fragrance in the Day Three Line but Tres Oros is my favorite. I've loved it from the first time I tried it. It wears extremely light and is not overwhelming. Can't wait to try DESERT RAIN. If it's even half as good, it'll be another great success for this house!!

Terrific scent with less then average performance, A masterpiece of scent. No other fragrance smells like it. Sadly becomes a skin scent after 60 minutes so will need to reapply often. Scent 10/10 Silage :4/10 Projection 4/10

Wow.. sounds amazing Kash. I'm glad I pre ordered it. I saw pineapple, plantain and honey. Immediately pulled the trigger. The house is A1. I think they are my new favorite house..

I was sold on the plantain note as a blind buy. This fragrance is addictive and getting better every day. Smooth brown sugar and cinnamon topped with plantains. Delicious.

I was worried that this would have been too sweet. But it actually works. Pineapple cake. Not too gourmand but still delicious smelling. It does quickly become a skin scent on me yet lasts nearly 10 hours. Day Three Fragrances have some hits. I want to pick up at least one bottle after I work through the discovery set. Not sure if this will be it. Fantastic nonetheless.

Definitely reminds me of Khamrah, its not exactly the same, and it's MUCH higher quality, but the resemblance is there. If you're looking for an alternative to Angels Share I would definitely recommend trying this out. It's too gourmand for me but I feel most people will like this one, I can certainly see it becoming one of the more popular scents from the brand.

It’s a masterpiece just like Desert Rain. It just doesn’t perform for me at all! It makes me sad because those two frags are legit 10/10 scents for me. Skin scents after 30 minutes for me.

Nice cinnamon and honey scent that is long lasting, but if you're expecting the citrus opener to be the profile the whole time you will be disappointed and think it has no longevity.

Tres Oros by Day Three Fragrances feels like a warm, sweet hug. ✨ I welcome the dry down discovery with this one, it keeps unfolding in such a comforting, beautiful way.

I agree, this gave me Lattafah Khamrah vibes and unfortunately that was not my scent. Tres Oros gets better with time, but for the first couple of hours I was put off. I don’t see this one being for me. Looks like another Day Three fragrance for my husband. So far, I haven’t found a Day Three that leans more toward the feminine side. I have samples of all now and they all lean masculine.

A smidge of amber w/ a hair product undernote. That's it. Not getting any listed notes. At all. And this sample from fragrance house itself.

To me, this is a department store recreation of Angel's Share and Naughty Nonna. It's fuzzy, traditional, perfumey, and a bit too mature. If you're looking for a realistic gourmand, I suggest sampling this before buying.

This is way too sickeningly sweet and headache inducing. It’s a very good gourmand if that’s what you’re into.

Sadly, I find this scent nauseating. Very well-blended plaintains and overripe pineapple with brown sugar. FWIW, I’ve decided that plantain scents are not for me.

Posting my review from The Scent Lounge group on Facebook. 🍯🍍🍌🥮 Tres Oros 🥮🍌🍍🍯 I’m not gonna lie, I tested this straight off of the ups truck and at first, I wasn’t wowed. It was not as gourmand as I was anticipating and was giving a little bit of a “perfumey” vibe. So I let her chill. This is beautiful! In align with the rest of the fragrances from this house, Tres Oros is sooo well blended and smooth it is unreal. I don’t know how they do it. Their frags are so refined and just scream “quality” every time I sniff them. So on first spray I get creamy, sweet pineapple cake. That soon is brightened up by the mandarin, giving it a slight juicy and tangy sweetness. Very quickly, that unique maduros accord comes forward. This is my first time experiencing these notes in a fragrance. You get the aroma of buttery plantains that have been dusted in cinnamon, bringing out a slight spiciness for a few minutes. Don’t let that scare you though. The spice is not overwhelming whatsoever, in fact I am not a lover of spicy fragrances or cinnamon as a fragrance note 9x out of 10, but this doesn’t bother me here. It’s done so well, just the right amount. The smell of the plantains is so realistic it’s actually crazy. After I’d say 5 minutes or so, is when the magic happens for me. Imagine taking those buttery, cinnamon dusted plantains and frying them up on the stove, tossing them in a honey & brown sugar glaze 😋 meanwhile, you can still smell those buttery plantains throughout the entire time. This is truly one of a kind in my collection. I don’t have anything like this, nor have I smelled anything like this. Definitely a unique scent, in the best way. I will say, do not go into this expecting a full on gourmand. In my words, I’d say this is a “grown up” gourmand. It’s not a dense, thick, dessert-like gourmand. It’s more airy, fluffy, and creamy with a sophistication to it. Also, it’s on the lighter side to me right now. Hopefully it will get stronger as it sits, but tbh this is one that I wouldn’t even care if it doesn’t because it’s so unique and unlike anything else you’re going to get out there right now. A lot of these new releases are so redundant always. One thing I find with Day Three is they stand on their own. They stand out in your collection. The quality and blend is remarkable. This is a winner! 🏆

Tres Oros is the first official gourmand of the line to my knowledge. I appreciate the authentic approach and the willingness to share a Dominican treat with us (the consumer). After all, I appreciate the cultural nuances to the brand just as I do the line. The long story short. This fragrance took embraced a fairly violent note like 🍌 and managed to balance it out with things like 🍯, 🍍, cinnamon, amber, ect. That said if you don't like plantains, you should probably approach with caution. It performs like a gourmand fragrance should (in my opinion) doesn't need to scream all over the room. However, should you spend time in my Scent bubble, you won't forget me for quite some time. If you're a fan of gourmand fragrance, I highly sugguest samples. I for one enjoy my full bottle purchase and will soon be denting my bottle.

Fantastic. Lovely. Elegant. Rich. Very appealing. All those things. Mine arrived today, and, as is my process, I spritz it & set it aside to macerate. My initial thoughts, which, of course, will be updated later, are -- why hasn't anyone else mentioned Lattafa Khamrah, when describing this scent?! I have, and love, my Khamrah, use it fairly regularly, and, for the life of me, when I got my first whiffs of this one, I immediately recognized Khamrah. This scent, though, may or may not be built with superior ingredients, but, the opening is pure Lattafa Khamrah. I'll be updating my impressions, once I've allowed it time to mature, so,...c u then!

Loving this now that I have worn it for a week. The opening is so powerful and fruity with the pineapple, orange, and platain. This stuff is sweet and dense and lasts FOREVER. I sprayed this stuff on this morning at around 9 am and its 3 now and its kicking like Van Damme !! I love this scent but I do think its a little feminine for my taste but its truly amazing, just not bottle worthy for a 50 year man. PS the person below me stating that this stuff doesnt last must be a sissy sprayer. 3 sprays and acting like they put a fragrance on . I use at least 3-4ml at a time. USE IT !

Pineapple 🍍 upside down cake, the pineapples baked in sticky sweet brown sugar and honeyed dripping goodness. But strip away the cake and just leave behind all the pineapple in the sticky gooey stuff on the plate. This is gourmand but not in the sense of a cake or cupcake. This is melted brown sugar, honey, and baked pineapples. It's also remains light, fresh, and airy, at the same time it's warm & rich honey. This is truly a masterpiece. I sprayed this on a T-shirt and picked it up a few days later and it was still bright and strong. This is perfect for summer ⛱️🌞 🍯 🍍!!!

I've had this for several months now and it just keeps getting better and better. I have no clue how but tonight it's giving cinnamon, honey, and dare I say suede??? I have no idea. My nose could be effected by hormones but it smells so good and a little different this evening. It's a masterpiece. It is so fresh and uplifting, juicy, and fruity, but warm at the same time. This is such an oxymoron fragrance. Light bright airy but dense, narcotic, and sensual. Day Three knocked this one out of the park. I will cherish my bottle. 🍍🍌🫚🔥

I just purchased my second bottle because I can’t sleep at night knowing I don’t have a back up bottle of this juice. I am scared to ever run out of it....Its just delicious...I am not good at describing scents but its just a sugary mouthwatering grilled plantain desert in a bottle...evoked in warmth of amber and fruity accords...No need to talk performance, its outstanding. I own 6 Day Three perfumes and each in 2-3 backups, easily became one of my favorite houses. I am proud our state has such an incredible perfumer!

Tres Oros is absolutely Divine. This is by far my favorite release from any house this year. Imagine a grilled pineapple ring drenched in raw honey and a cinnamon stick grated on top. While you would think ok that’s purely for the cold weather like I did, it’s not exactly the case. There is a subtle freshness to this scent allowing for easy wear in the transitional seasons as well. If your a gourmand lover like I am I 100% reccomend this fragrance.

the most photorealistic fragrance I have ever tried. When you look at the notes this is exactly what you are getting and you can smell every note. A beautiful fruity fragrance that is unisex but can lean slightly more feminine , I would still rock this.

Tres oros might be my favorite from the house. This gourmand is unique because of what it does in the hot weather. No too overbearing, bright, and DELICIOUS. This is a winner
