Alchermes

I recently got to try this fragrance in a scent club box from The Perfume Guy. And WOW! What a stunner!!! This has a very metallic feel to it, akin to Chrome Azzaro or Egoiste Platinum, but with a slightly fruity backbone. It's hard to describe. Very strong opening of cold leather... The fruit is there, but with little sweetness. Only certain facets of the fruit make it through, confusing the brain a bit as to what you're smelling... but as I said, MY GOD is it intoxicating! Not only can you smell, but you almost feel the effect of liquor. I am not familiar, with what alchermes smells like, but there is something in here, that is very boozy, yet VERY unique... and I'm guessing it's that alchermes. There is some throwback in here, in regards to the formula, but given the current monotony of the niche fragrance world, I find this HIGHLY unique, and a wonderful modern take on fougeres. Fresh! Bold! Unique! Powerful! Intoxicating! — Excellent performance. And a compliment-getter. Ordered a full bottle immediately, from De Gabor, as well as a discovery set. Can’t wait to see if their other offerings live up to this one! 😍

De Gabor fragrances are gorgeous. The polar complexity and simplicity makes them very unique and true niche fragrances. Alchermes have intoxicated Saffron and Leather facets in a different way as most niche offerings with beautiful notes of Iris and warmth Ambrette seeds and coolness of Immortel, I also get comforting herbal camomile note even if not listed. Love this cool and warm dance of accords that have modern oriental fougere and gourmand signature without being obvious. I get addicted too it. Simply unique and intoxicating.

This smells like a more palatable version of Mancera- Red Tobacco. Nothing special about it but decent and wearable.

*Disclaimer This particular fragrance is not a part of my collection, my experience with it is limited. Review is based on 2 full wearings of an official sample. From the official pyramid, I anticipated something more intricate and opulent. While the scent is undeniably unique and enjoyable, its simplicity stands out. Leather and saffron dominate the composition, with a subtle oud undertone in the background. I found myself yearning for a brighter opening—perhaps some citrus or fruity notes—and a touch of advertised moss to enrich the dry down. On my skin, the fragrance stays true to its leather-saffron core from start to finish. It’s a pleasant combination, but one you can find in other fragrances at a more approachable price point. That said, if dark leather-centric scents are your thing, this is a solid choice for a night out or a romantic evening. It strikes a unisex balance but leans masculine in its overall vibe. I’d rate this a 6/10. It was a nice experience, but I don’t see myself needing a full bottle in my collection.
