Kimono Rin

I wore Kimono Rin by Decorté and it instantly felt like gliding through a serene Japanese garden in early spring. The first whisper of Japanese plum, grapefruit, and cassis is bright and poised, blossoming into a graceful bouquet of jasmine, magnolia, and rose that feels fresh yet quietly luxurious. As it settles, the vanilla-dusted patchouli and vetiver wrap me in a soft, grounding warmth that’s elegant, not heavy. This scent lasts gently on my skin—its sillage isn’t loud, but the mood lingers in a graceful halo. Wearing it, I feel composed, feminine, and grounded—like carrying a calm, inner strength with a touch of floral elegance.

This and Kimono Kihin were blind buys based on their fragrance finder quiz. It’s a Japanese designer perfume so I consider it generally safe to buy blind. Out of the two this is my preferred scent. It’s very sweet and fresh fruity but in a mature (but not grandma) way. It may be a little old fashioned but still stylish. I rarely love generic designer smells but this scent makes me happy.

I purchased a discovery set and this is my 2nd favorite from the line. Certainly not as bad as the current rating may indicate. It's a likeable, everyday scent, but on an elegant side. Well-rounded - fresh and feminine yet soft. Good for work and every day use. Not strong as you may expect from a scent that has a patchouli note - it's a Japanese perfume after all. Cute bottle.

This is an unfortunate blind buy for me. It smells like a somewhat lighter version of Youth Dew by Estée Lauder...which is one of my least favorite fragrances. I thought it would be more floral or fruity, but it just smells like smoky patchouli on my skin. I need to layer it with something. Any suggestions?
