Fragrance 05 Spring

Starts with the lemongrassy part of what the Lush store smells like with the sharp bergamot note lol, very bright and in your nose like wasabi. I get citrus stalk, zest, the oily part of the fruit. Then comes the cedar and geranium which is heavenly and heady on my skin. I don’t get any anise personally. Very fresh and damp. Smells like VanVan or a sexy nonbinary person that works at a crystal shop and organizes a socialist book group. No staying power for me unfortunately, vanishes in like an hour. I’d buy it despite it being so short lived, the bergamot in this is super nice.

Fragrance 05 Spring goes on almost like bug spray! Like those citronella candles you keep on the back patio to keep away mosquitoes. After an hour or so of wear it dries down to smokey incense, patchouli, and oakmoss. I had a few family members say it activated their allergies, so watch out for that! But I just love it. It leans more masculine than feminine, but all Dedcool fragrances seem to be pretty unisex. Perfect for spring and summer, as it’s very green. I’d also say it’s a daytime scent rather than a date night scent! Perfect for picnics or a walk in the park.

In a way, this is *exactly* how I pictured Chanel’s Cristalle would be, and in some ways it feels like it was inspired by it. “Spring” is much easier to pull off and more juicy, but the sharpness and green is perfectly balanced by the citrus notes and the soft incense. It’s clean and it absolutely reminds me of spring. I have a rather large tester I plan to wear for a week or so and I will come back and update, but so far I’m impressed. It would be amazing as a laundry scent, and lucky me they create detergents!

Initially, the scent is fresh and bright, with notes of citrus, wood, and anise. This scent is not at all subtle on my skin. With only a few spritzes, it can border on overwhelming. It settles into a lovely sweet patchouli. It maintains its brightness, but becomes more earthy. It is very long wearing on me, and I tend to wear it on cooler spring and autumn days. I find it is a little too overwhelming of a scent on warmer Aussie days. I am almost out of my bottle and it will be a definite re-buy for me.

I’m very particular about scents I can wear, because due to some unforeseen reason scents I used to love now make me nauseated. So I got the sample pack of dedcool on the recommendation of a friend. Some are iffy, but as soon as I tried spring I fell in love. I love the bright lemon, it’s so refreshing. But where it really shines is topped with Milk. It smells like a grown up lemon sugar, and it sends me over the edge. Reminiscent of light blue by D&G but not as in your face. My new favorite scent.

Spring is like a clean fresh bed ( maybe because I’ve been wearing it to sleep). It has the base notes of the laundry detergent I bought from Dedcool too and It smells amazing to me. First impressions are deceiving. After 30 minutes to an hour, Spring changes to a clean citrus with a slightly woody, spicy twist. At first, it smells very masculine, but, it’s dry down is a clean fragrance for both. You can layer it with Milk and Taunt for a feminine twist as well.

While Fragrance 02 remains my favorite Dedcool, Fragrance 05 (Spring) is a very close second. This is sharp and clean. While it is super-modern to me, it does allude to nineties-style men's cologne. This just exudes a fresh/sporty/sexy vibe. On me, Spring is all citrus, woods, and vetiver with a smoky incense in the background. Whenever I wear this out, I get tons of compliments. It lasts all night and projects really well. This is magic stuff. I love it.

So I’ve always liked this fragrance. It smells nice and gets me compliments, but it never wowed me... UNTIL, like another reviewer said, I layered it with Dedcool’s Milk underneath and OMG, it became a 9/10 for scent. The Milk base, dulls the piercing citrus a bit and it just sings on my skin. Longevity is about 8 hours so not bad for a freshie, and sillage is moderate through about 4-5 hours.

This is the quintessential "spring" scent for me. It's light and refreshing, with a touch of citrus, yet you still get that wet spring season feel to it, thanks to the cedar and oak moss. It's exactly what a rainy day smells like, just in perfume form; green, clean, fresh, bright, and smoky/hazy. While I would classify it as unisex, I do think it leans a touch masculine, due to the wood and incense notes. This also lingers like crazy! On me, this fragrance easily lasts for 9+ hours. The sillage is exceptional, and only two or three sprays are really needed for this. I do find that it's a bit oily on the skin, but it absorbs quickly, and I'm not going to complain - the lasting power this has is enough for me to overlook some initial oiliness!

This to me is just a very nice, fresh scent for those who want to smell like a nice garden. This is one of those predominantly floral scents that I would recommend to ANYONE. It's also a great layering scent with other floral scents to make them stand out more. I combined this with "The Fox in the Flowerbed" by Imaginary Authors and it gave an amazing citrus pop to the very floral fragrance. Super diverse, and super safe scent for anyone. Won't make a statement, but I don't think it's trying to.

The comment about it smelling like the bedroom of a lesbian couple is absolutely correct. To me it smells like someone baking lemon loaf in a cozy kitchen with incense burning on the windowsill. I'd compare it to Unknown Pleasures by Kerosone but less strong/not a gourmand. It smells more alive, like fresh lemon balm rubbed between your fingers

I like this. The drydown is pleasant. I sometimes associate fragrance with feelings. This is the second Dedcool fragrance that seems like it's from another time, maybe turn of the 20th century, not that I was there, haha. It feels like a genteel upper crust person would wear this to a polo match.

When first sprayed, it immediately reminded me of Atelier Cologne's Bergamote Soleil, and it shines. It’s not at all astringent. It’s a freshly picked and peeled fruit that quickly transforms into a well-blended citrus-woody freshie. Disappointingly, I don’t get the anise note at all. I wish the cedar burst forward a bit more. It would then become the perfect blend of Atelier’s Cedre Atlas and Begamote Soleil. Although, as it dried down, it became much more masculine to my nose. I got a quick hint of what others equated to Irish Spring soap, but it was there and gone in a flash. Instead, it became patchouli-dominant. My husband loves fragrances with a noticeable patchouli note, and the note doesn’t bother me unless it’s heady and mixed with overly sweet notes. He’ll use up my sample, but it’s not a fragrance we’d buy a full bottle of.

Fragrance 05 "Spring" is a citrus fresh fragrance, bergamot and lemon are the notes I smell the most. I guess it smells a little bit like spring in that it's very green and a little earthy as well, I do smell the slight spice of star anise and dryness of vetiver. But overall it also smells very masculine to me, which prevents the fragrance from smelling truly natural like spring. Like it smells like forests and soil and light (because of citrus) but it's like all of those elements are fighting with a typical "masculine" cologne smell, I don't know what is causing that. That is a bit of a shame, I was expecting a true green unisex fragrance.

Bergamot and monk fruit. Lime. Bug spray. Bitter citrus aromatic opening, maybe a little cherry cough syrup in the opening. Lemongrass. Lavender. Tea tree. Ok, the citrus, wood, and geranium are so strong, I can’t smell much else. The anise in the opening gotta be what I thought was monk fruit (very sweet without any actual carbs vibe). Besides those notes, there’s incense, patchouli, oakmoss, and vetiver... can’t smell those, actually nevermind I do smell incense. 30 minutes later all that’s left is a whisper of sweet musky patchouli

For about five minutes, this was a really beautiful unisex fragrance: green leaves, bright citrus, the slight spiciness I find in a lot of colognes, a teeny bit of moss/dirt. It smelled like walking through a bright forest! Unfortunately the patchouli and incense were soon all I could smell, overtaking everything else. If you like those notes, this might be a great scent for you, but I'm not a fan of either so it was a real disappointment. Smells like: Encountering a mystical cave during a walk in the woods.

Sharp, warm, intense. Green, and the anise is loud. Astringent lemon/citrus, wow. On skin, fresh and just a touch earthy (anise, geranium). Spicy (cardamom, lavender). The vetiver is felt more than smelled. The anise and bergamot are bright and vibrant. Can't believe I like the anise here. A little bit licorice, but not at all unpleasant. Reminds me of PHLUR's old Sandara; if it were more tart and less damp. Nicely done, but a little loud. Natural, but a bit in your face. Not for me.

somehow smells like cleaning products but also damp and boggy at the same time. on the skin i am immediately hit with lemon and licorice, with incense not long after. the lemon really lingers. reminds me of a mossy forest but also reminds me too much of chemically cleaning products, like lemon-scented Clorox wipes. I don't hate it after the dry down, but not for me.

very woodsy and cabin-like. its definitely like a fragrance i can see anyone wearing from like late spring until late fall. it has very adventurous vibes and like 'lets go in the forest looking for mysteries. personally not for me and i dont really care for it - but i do know people who i think would like it.
