I had not tried DefineMe fragrances before, but being a little obsessed with Disney's The Little Mermaid, I thought I had to have this magnificent bottle be part of my world. To be honest, I had very low expectations about the fragrance... however, I must acknowledge (very much objectively): I was pleasantly and delightfully surprised with the scent! It starts off with a fresh burst of citruses, giving rapid birth to the coconut and floral notes of this fragrance. The jasmine is certainly prevalent, but I also pick out white florals, specifically tuberose and ylang-ylang. In combination with the coconut, these floral notes take this fragrance into a clean, suntan lotion feel in the liking (and quite reminiscent) of Tom Ford's Soleil Blanc. Hence why I was VERY PLEASANTLY surprised! There is a slightly woody aspect to this fragrance, that is just underlying, but veer this scent into a very much unisex territory (although all scents are unisex, in my opinion). The fragrance is very much linear; it does not change much through its duration on skin. Longevity is OK, working for around 5 hours. Projection is moderate to light, but you can feel its presence heavily for the first hour. For an additional boost of performance, double spraying is recommended. Retail price is a bit steep, costing $88 without discounts. However, the construction of the bottle and the quality of the fragrance, in my opinion, justify the cost. It is not groundbreaking; it is not for the skanky-oud "fragheads"; it is not for fragrance snobs either. However, it is a very pleasant scent for late spring and summer. And if you love Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, you will definitely love this one. However, if you have Soleil Blanc, this could well be a redundant fragrance to have (unless you purchase only to have the bottle, which is indeed gorgeous). @Fragrantica, @fragrantica: I'm not being allowed to post the "reminds me of" section.

Oh my goodness... this is so beautiful. Where do I even begin? From the packaging, to the bottle, to the smell itself, this perfume is a work of art. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect “mermaid” perfume, and I think this is it. Yeah, it’s definitely going in my top 5! The fragrance is primarily floral in my opinion (I get the neroli, jasmine, and lilac especially) but if you are a fan of coconut, don’t worry because the coconut is present as well. I agree with the review below mine in that the woods certainly give this fragrance a unisex vibe. I believe it leans more typically “female,” but men and women alike can rock this and no one will question it (not that they should for any fragrance anyway). Overall, if you’re a fan of mermaids, florals, and coconut, I’d highly recommend this fragrance. My search for the perfect mermaid perfume is over, as this is exactly what I believe a fragrance inspired by one should be (although I’ll probably still pick up any more I might find, haha)!

This was a blind buy, I took a $50 risk on this one because I saw the notes on here and I love Ariel and wow was it worth it. It captures the scent of a beach vacation so well, it is slightly suntan lotiony, with florals that capture maybe the hotel or house you are renting or flowers somewhere else near the beach. It also has a wonderful scent of coconut. It really feels like the beach in a bottle without being super sweet. I don't have enough words of praise for this scent

As a neroli lover I’m absolutely obsessed with this. Neroli forward with lots of beautiful floral notes, another favorite of mine. Gives a creamy rich floral vibe I think because of the coconut... I don’t understand why some categorize this as smelling old or grandma like. It’s beautiful flowers. If flowers = old then ok, I’m a grandma.

This is the fragrance I think of when someone is wanting a summer scent. This scent reminds me of going to the beach and summer days as a child. This fragrance will work for any age; it is fun, warm and inviting. Notes of white floral (mostly neroli), coconut and driftwood are stunning.

Smells just like an 80's hairspray like Aquanet or something similar. It's actually an enjoyable scent though! It's sweet with that tickle-your-nose tang that hairspray offers. An exact dupe to this is Neon Beach by Tru Fragrance. I was taken aback when I first sprayed Neon Beach, as it instantly took me back to the first time smelling this. Both also have excellent staying power!

this smells exactly like sunscreen to me haha i kinda love it. for a few minutes after the first spray faded i got some sweeter floral scent but it went on strongly like sunscreen and dried down into sunscreen for the whole day to when i went to bed 🛌🌙

Gorgeous neroli-jasmine-lilac with some beachy base notes. I'm not a huge floral fan and tend to gravitate towards cerebral aromatics, but this and Delphine from the same brand are my floral go-tos.

I wanted to like this, and it's almost great, but I think the neroli in it just ruins it. It's one thing in it somewhere that is just messing up the whole thing, but I'm not sure what it is, and it makes it smell kind of elderly and overpowering, but then it is frustrating because it is ALMOST just what they advertise it to be. So close to that magical sea scent but then ruined to where I can't stand to wear it. I don't think it's bad, really, for someone who wants a stronger scent, but it's not for me and whatever it is throws it off from the attempted theme. Sigh

ummmm....no. literally smelled like a scented sunscreen 🤔 just smells like an old lady that slathered on some Banana Boat Ultra SPF 50. didn't like this at all. definitely not full bottle worthy imo, especially at its current $125 retail price tag. it's beach appropriate at least, and there's really no other occasion i can think of to wear this unless you're needing to shield yourself from the sun. nothin about it seems Disney Princess, pretty or girly, if anything, it gives grandma vibes as the florals take center stage. Fairy Godmother would've been a better fitting name for this one. such an odd lotiony fragrance. you might as well save your coin and just wear a cheap $10 sunblock 🤷🏾

I wanted to like this but all I get is a blast of sickeningly sweet, migraine-inducing floral. I don't get any coconut or bergamot, just cloyingly sweet jasmine and lilac that overpowers everything. I was hoping for something beachy and reminiscent of the sea but this just doesn't deliver.

this doesn't smell bad, but it reminds me too much of my grandmother to wear. smells just like her. when I spray it on me, I want it off. I think it may be the lilacs, which must smell similar to gardenia because gardenia is my least favorite flower note. blind buy because I love mermaids but this is not sexy or young smelling at all. it smells moreso like a floral garden rather than a beach/ocean. I do get the subtle coconut vibes but it's too floral for me to consider it tropical. I'm a huge fan of their "Sofia Isabel" so will return only for that scent.

This was offered as a large sample in Ipsy, so I grabbed it due to your reviews here. I will let you know! If it smells like Soleil Blanc, I'm in! Vegan and cruelty free is a plus too.
