So thrilled that I had the opportunity to try Ambre DeMer. This isn’t your every day Amber fragrance. Matter of fact, every fragrance from this house is unique and the quality is unmatched. Upon spraying this one on my wrist, I get a heavy dose of amber with a bit of smoke, not an ashy smoke, but a smooth smoke. As it begins to dry down, I get whiffs of the most smooth and creamy cinnamon I’ve ever smelled. This is the same cinnamon that is in Santalorium (my signature and favorite from the house). For me, this note is what makes the fragrance an instant love. After a couple of hours, the sillage is still well above average. At this point, the smoky note has tamed down a bit and the Amber shines through, combined with that GORGEOUS creamy cinnamon! This one lasts a good 8-9 hours on my skin and as with all of DeMer fragrances- Ambre DeMer goes through many stages of development and many changes.

My mother makes the best coffee found outside of Italy. It’s rocket fuel. I can’t copy it for myself. Though I’ve tried, it’s some magnetism she personally passes along to it. This is what makes Ambre DeMer #1 compelling. A pleasant unidentifiable smokiness lifts the amber notes. Is it from the coffee tincture? I did not have my bottle for long. The first day I wore it, a friend stopped by who then raved about the scent. Since he enjoyed it so much, I gifted it to him on the spot. Apparently, this scent appeals to both men and women.

A limited edition of this balsamic amber fragrance with blood orange, cinnamon, cocoa liqueur, coffee, oud, Peruvian rose, and linen. Blended for an addictive scent.
