Hyacinth

Oh boy am I glad this one was finally added to the site. This is a staple in my collection. My general rule of "it's not about the notes, it's about the story the fragrance tells" goes out the window when hyacinth is involved. Hyacinth, hyacinth, hyacinth! I am mad for hyacinth! I layer this with just about anything, I put it in my hair to scent it because I have the perfume oil and it contains no alcohol, I roll a little on my wrists and smell myself to sleep at night. Hyacinth is early spring, when it is still cold, but the sun shines brightly and the ice has melted into dew. Hyacinth is the ephemeral passion that the mortal paramours of the Gods had for their divine and eternal lovers. Hyacinth represents the breath of life that revitalizes the earth after the dead of winter. Its indolic nature makes it lush and green, but heady and intoxicating. It, to me, is not strictly a springtime scent, but offers the hopefulness of the season to you whenever you may need to dream of gentler days. Layering suggestions: - Glossier You + Hyacinth = Fragrantica user Annafaerie's favorite combo for school or work. - Tocca Florence + Hyacinth = Persephone's wedding scent. - Carmilla by Alkemia + Hyacinth in your hair = The eternal muse. I LOVE it! It’s incredibly photorealistic and has a crisp, long-lasting fragrance. I’m excited to layer it or use it on its own!

I completely agree with u/Aeternitas! This Demeter Hyacinth captures the true essence of the flower – that sweet, heady scent with hints of green and citrus; one of the earliest signs that spring has arrived as the blooms push through the earth! It's incredibly realistic, like burying your nose right in a blooming hyacinth. Beautiful on its own but layers well. The longevity is moderate, lasting a few hours on me. The sillage is close, but it's enough for someone to catch a whiff as you walk by (if the wind is blowing just right lol). Perfect for anyone who loves the scent of hyacinths or wants a fresh, floral spring fragrance.

This is the most hyacinthy hyacinth that ever hyacinth’d. I mean really, if you want the most photorealistic hyacinth in all of its glory, this is 100% it. The petals, the greenery... it’s all there!

Smells exactly like a hyacinth

To me it smells like shampoo. Specifically that shampoo that was supposed to smell like hyacinth. Maybe it did, but it also smelled artificial and like shampoo, which was fine for a shampoo. But this smells exactly like if I opened a bottle of that shampoo and smelled it.

I'm always eager, but trepidate, to sample soliflore scents that I've already experienced in the wild or garden. In the case of Demeter's Hyacinth the accord formula does at least approach its subject, though it's hardly a bullseye. There is still a missing aspect of all that is hyacinthine. Je ne sais quoi. I can only helplessly describe it as a green-sweet, powdery, yet sharp, coolness. However, this does not in any way mean this Hyacinth scent is a bad fragrance! Au contraire, far from it, for the very inexactitude of this floral scent may indeed be a stroke of neglected genius. I personally rechristen this as Demeter Flower Market! (Somebody let their marketing team know...) Smell the water buckets, smell the bruised green foliage, smell the opulently blousy armfuls of stock (the flower, not the investment product), smell the mass-produced roses still desperate for their lost grandeur, smell hints of a dozen other flowers, and yes, somewhere in the mix, smell the blooming potted hyacinth bulbs, with fresh potting soil still clinging to ther plump roots.

It sounds like a single simple and direct chord to smell like jasmine: with its greenery, its honey and its metal, a slight something animalistic in the background. It's like an escrima lunge, calculated and unadorned.

Absolutely pure hyacinth. Sticking your face in the flower-pure. Has a moist greenness to it, like freshly split stems. But it made me sneeze :/ that’s never happened with a perfume before!
