Kahala Hawaiian Surf

This is sweeter, more tropical, and far more complex than the posted notes would have one believe. The posted notes are misleading. @ RobbieX, There are definitely more notes in here than salt and seawater. I live in So Cal and spent many summers on the beach on both coasts, and I'm not smelling seawater or fish in this. :-) @ Fawnmarie is spot on in her description: a tropical blend of pineapple, frangipani, and a bit of jasmine. (To my nose the jasmine in this is like the plant we have here in Los Angeles in Spring and Summer--we call it "night blooming jasmine" but it's actually a different plant). Also a bit of vintage Hawaiian Tropic suntan oil, ocean air, and maybe the slightest bit of musk, because there's a sun-warmed skin aspect to it that brings in a little more depth and sexiness. I smell a bit of lime daiquari in there, too: lime juice and a whiff of white rum. Atmospherically Kahala smellls like a wonderful day at the beach with tropical cocktails, but no seawater or fish. :-) It's one of my favorite spring and summer fragrances, and I wear my bottle sparingly, because it can be so hard to find. ETA: One of the few I could continue to wear as much as I liked after developing migraines and fragrance sensitivities. Scarcity is the only thing that ever keeps me from this one!

I loved this! It wasn't usually what I would wear and I wasn't ever 100% sure it was perfect for me! but I could just smell it right from the bottle and that was enough for me to love it. It's salty and fresh and there's something else...I have never been to Hawaii, but I always wanted to imagine that this would be the scent coming arriving in the breeze coming off the wet rocks and shore..something comforting about it but so lively with beautiful notes.

Smells like salty sea water and a sort of vague fresh greenness, like bamboo. Not a traditional perfume for sure. Makes me think of being at the beach of a small tropical island, with the fresh cool morning breeze blowing on me and the lush vegetation in the background. Has nothing in common with Bronze Goddess except that both have a summery feeling.

More like Jones Beach at low tide after a high school beach party. Empty beer cans, used condoms, rotting fish, and moldy seaweed.
