Truth be told, I reviewed this scent on Demeter's website, and my impressions have only slightly changed. I am, basically, a native Arizonan who has been searching for the perfect desert scent. It's a journey of nostalgia, for the most part, and Demeter Saguaro Cactus is nearly there. It is fresh, with a hint of juicy cactus florals - more a spring portrait of the Sonoran desert than any other time of year. I get a slight sharp note which I initially attributed to pollen, but I have come to find slightly sour. Not really in a bad way, but what I'm getting at is it's not a pure floral or pure cactus note. I enjoy this scent, and at least in splash form I find it has better staying power than the other Demeters I have tried. I will likely purchase a larger size in the future. Getting back to my desert fragrance journey, I suppose what sits more keenly in my mind as "home" is the smell of crisp, snapped prickly pear pads; the dry smell of hot sand; and the deep and dirty rain scent of the creosote bush. Demeter certainly gave me what I asked for - in Saguaro Cactus I can, indeed, envision a saguaro cactus. Now they just need to hop to it and gift me a creosote fragrance! A side note: to my knowledge, Saguaro Cactus is no longer made with the La Vida Latina label.

A good cactus-flower note. I want to try it layered with Lava Rock, which I suspect will give a much more authentic "desert" scent.
