Lily Of The Valley

MASS APPEAL: 6/10. This fragrance is not a crowds pleaser but isn’t offensive either. PROJECTION: 2/10. Low, about 2 feet around the wearer. SILLAGE: 0/10. None, the fragrance has no scent trail. APPLICATION: 4 or more atomizations to improve performance. LONGEVITY: 2/10. Very poor, it performs for about 20min then it becomes a skin scent. SEASONS: Spring, summer. OCCASIONS: Formal events, outdoor gatherings, gym, office, casual, holidays, romantic, dating. This is an office-friendly fragrance. VERSATILITY: 5/10. Good, the fragrance is ideal for the warmer months. GENDER: Feminine. AGES: Any. RECOMMENDATION: Demeter Lily of the Valley has a very pleasant opening but it dry-downs very fast and with it, the initial moderate projection lowers to a skin scent which happens in a matter of minutes. Not recommended. BLIND-BUY: Yes, but consider its poor performance. VERY white floral, gentle, slightly musky, sweet, clean and slightly aquatic scent all in balance. It's simple, fresh and feminine. It's rare to see aquatic white floral let alone one that isn't made loud. It smells really nice and lasts for some time with no harshness to it, it's the perfect clean girl scent with a 1 to 2 hours of sillage initially turning into skin scent, not sure about the scent accuracy but of the top of the notes i get on this, i "Would" recommend a try. And I'll probably get the roll on version for myself regardless of the gender associations because it's hard to find a good white floral with this accord.

Starts out fruity like most LofV as expected, but more lychee-like than melony (Thank goodness), then becomes the nice and green note we all came to love :) Although I haven't smelled the real flower, I'd say this is pretty realistic since it's not too perfumy or soapy. It's not as energetic or captivating as some of my favorites, but I can appreciate its calming qualities, and it's definitely the best cheap option I've found yet! Update: after experiencing more LotV fragrances, I have to say this is not really worth it unless you're actually not that into fragrances and budget is your only concern...I gave it away

Soft, warm Lily-of-the-Valley. Close to skin and beautiful. A great every-day-scent for springtime. Mjuk, varm Liljekonvalj. Hudnära och riktigt mysig. Perfekt varje-dag-doft för våren.

This is a wonderful fresh and green lily-of-the-valley fragrance. This will be great to blend with some of my other Demeter fragrance samples.

This is pretty realistic. Lily-of-the-valley grows in my yard and this makes a good fac simile.

Smells good and acurate, but did'nt last more than an hour on my skin...

This is not Lily of the Valley. It is something synthetic that remotely reminds this flower. I had high expectations for this but Yves Rocher's Muguet is so much more close to the original flower's smell. My version is European with "The Library of Fragrance" logo on the label instead of "Demeter Fragrance Library".

I literally cannot smell anything but pure baby powder in this. I don't dislike it, but if I want to smell like baby powder I'd rather just go to Dollar Tree and grab some rather than waste money on a perfume for it.

Has a very sharp, piercing note which I do not like at all. Makes me think of a detergent, I'm afraid.

I generally like Demeter fragrances, but I have to say, this one, Lily of the Valley. is definitely subpar. the scent is quite weak in intensity, ..and what scent exists is a flat and unispiring take on the note. As you may know, the lily of the valley or muguet note in perfumery is always a constructed accord, with various formulae that individual perfumers may tweak for nuance or enhance with accompanying grace notes. Here, very little additional work has been done. This is basically a muguet de minimis. As alternative, I might suggest Jessica McClintock's perfume. (Yes, she of '80s prom dress semi-fame). It possesses a much fuller and more complex sensation for lily of the vale. Do note, this fragrance is not technically a muguet soliflore, but as the muguet accord is its main feature, I would consider it one for all practical purposes.

So, my girlfriend got me a mini purse spray of this scent for my birthday back in May. I had been using it as a before bed scent because Demeter's fragrances are famously fleeting. I used it until there were only a couple of sprays left, then neglected it for several months. I finally picked it back up again the other night and spritzed my neck and wrists and I was very impressed. This is a surprisingly complex scent. It's green, fresh, clean, and kinda spicy? And it lasts much longer than you might expect, too. Everything in this scent is currently sold out except for the mini purse spray and has been for over a month. I'm admittedly a bit scared that they're discontinuing it. If you want something that has a strong muguet note but is more perfume-y, then I'd suggest Charlie White.

I simply love this Demeter scent. Not only is the Lily of the Valley such a warm and comforting scent, but because this is one of the few Demeter cologne's I own that I don't have to reapply 200 times a day, and that actually has a nice silliage to it. In fact, I walked into my hair stylists shop one day after I had applied this, and she was easily 15 feet away, turned around and said "Wow, you smell fantastic". And when I was close to her, it was not overbearing or too powerful. Its simply a lovely, soft scent that is very realistic and has staying power and travels. I completely enjoy it - and I am sure it will be a regular purchase of mine! Sometimes you just need a single scent cologne!
