Linden

If, like me, you've never smelled linden blossoms, this will present as a sweet, bright green floral tempered with a note I'd characterize as tangy. (Another reviewer called the same note kiwi, and I think that's a more apt comparison than sour/lime.) Imagine a combination of kiwi and orange blossom and you'll have a reasonable approximation of linden.

Ahh, I wandered around our new neighborhood in the late spring/ early summer looking for the source of the divine perfume I caught whiffs of for two years before I looked up and realized it was the trees, not a flower growing on the ground making that intoxicating white floral lime scent. This captures that fragrance perfectly.

I know it says "for women", but I'm a guy and I love the green-floral scent of linden blossoms- my favorite springtime scent! I wish more men's fragrances featured it- combined with woods and herbs, of course. Demeter's perfect rendition will do until then.

Lovely, floral, sweet, powdery and green. This was my signature scent a few summers ago and I've rediscovered it. This is very similar to Pré de Provence's linden soap. It's perfect on its own but can complement as a layer quite well.

I have the perfume oil in a rollerball, and I find this to be a fair approximation of the linden tree--at least the beautiful little-leaf linden that is a few steps from the front door. Like the tree blossoms, the scent is evanescent, and sometimes I dry the blossoms and make a kind of tisane out of them--a grassy, honeyed-pollen scent, not unlike chamomile but sweeter. Perhaps because this is an oil, perhaps just because of the aromatic compounds, this is not a scent that projects very far, but when I wear it, I mostly put it on for myself, to remind me of the beautiful tree that blooms for only about a week every year, in late spring or early summer. As with all the single-note Demeter fragrances I own, I find that they are best for layering, to intensify one of the notes in another fragrance that projects a bit better but might not last as long.

This is a very lovely scent. I layer it with L'Artisan Parfumeur's La Chasse Aux Papillon and it's divine. It also smells wonderful layered with Annick Goutal's Eau du Ciel, which is lighter and less floral than La Chasse. Linden isn't particularly bright, the way orange blossom can be, so I think it's soothing after a bath at bedtime, and nice for summer nights. I have a linden soap from Pre de Provence that smells similar and it's a joy to use both it and Demeter Linden in the same beauty routine.

Very nice linden flower scent. Reminds me of Givaudan (Givco)’s linden blossom specialty base 151. Demeter's Linden may be softer, probably due to dilution. If you want a much more long-lasting and condensed perfume oil, (after checking all the legal requirement and safety regulation) you may wanna go straight to Givaudan's specialty base.

What a beautiful presentation of the note -- floral, sweet, and a bite of sour lime. Just right, not too strong, not too sour, not too sweet. Demeter captured this note perfectly. Can't recommend highly enough to people who love this note -- it's hard to find.

I don't like the sour note in it however it lasts only first hour and then more sweet real linden lasts one hour more.

Juicy, tropical fruit/kiwi, and jasmine flowers. Even though it’s sweet and smells like starburst candy, it’s not too unrealistic. Energetic summer day. As a guy, I didn’t mind wearing, but it is more feminine. For Demeter’s already subpar quality, this isn’t one of their best or worst. It’s fine if you’re in the mood for tropical juicy fruit gum with some floral balance. Appropriate projection, but disappears after a couple hours.

It was a blind buy,since reading the reviews decided it was the real deal ! Unfortunately was very disappointed but then decided to dig deeper .Well apparently there’s around 40 different types of linden(I will call it like that as it’s original name) trees around the world. The linden trees that I know do not have anything sour or citrusy! In fact it’s very sweet and heavy aroma, so intoxicating that you just can’t stop breathing it in.This scent for me is sour ,after few minutes turns very soapy like. It doesn’t matter if I smell it from the cap or my skin -all the same! The scent I’m looking for is from Tilia Tomentosa also known as silver linden ,if anyone knows any perfumes with that type of linden ,please let me know !

I bought this because the Linden trees are blooming this time of year and I know Demeter to create very literal scents. Unfortunately, this doesn't smell anything like the sweet, green syrupy linden blossoms on the trees. Like another reviewer below, maybe this isn't the variety of Linden I am used to. This smells citrusy and sour like a cleaning product. It also lasts maybe 30 seconds after I spray, but that's par for the course with Demeter. My hunt for a true linden scent continues

In my home country, spring smells like linden for me, which is one of my favorite scents in nature. There are no linden trees in the country I live in now, and I miss the fragrance very much, so I was looking for some sort of substitute comfort scent. This one is close enough, but still different... I wouldn't need the sour component that is quite present in this perfume, but it is relative fresh, reminds me more of the green linden tree, and not the infusion of the dried flowers, which is a good thing for me. I do enjoy it's linearity though. The quest for the perfect linden scent continues. Perhaps I should just plant a tree.

I tried this because I adore linden blossom, I'm not at all disappointed with it - it smells beautiful! I do get the linden blossom but the top note (to me anyway) is a slight fruitiness that's pure kiwi. All in all a nice refreshing little perfume that's easy on the purse!

This is kind of odd. There's a sour note that I don't really like in this, although the other reviews seem to like it. I guess it's just not for me.
