Lobster

I just had to satisfy my curiosity about this one. I love lobster and was just dying to find out if the scent could be made into a wearable perfume, but I'm finding it pretty disappointing. This doesn't smell like lobster at all to me. It doesn't smell like anything remotely marine-related, either. I don't get any salty, sea notes at all, and certainly nothing that smells like fresh steamed lobster with butter. It smells like alcohol and lemons, but mostly just alcohol. It smells almost exactly like Demeter's Sushi; with each, there's too much emphasis on lemon and the rest is too faint to smell at all. My husband can't smell anything but faintly lemon-y alcohol, either. It's a shame because these two scents could have been really unique & interesting if they smelled the way they're supposed to. Oh, well. Your mileage may vary, and I suppose the concept was kind of a tall order.

Like many others, I don't dislike Lobster for smelling like it's namesake, but rather just smelling like any other vaguely marine Homme. It's me kinda sad cause I was expecting a buttery, seaside, brisk sort of scent. Something meaty and sweet like lobster meat, but this really falls flat and is simply something in my collection to force people to smell when they come over my place so I can say how little "Lob" I get from it.

A little bit like lobster with some lemon... but mostly a chemical smell to me, like a fake ocean smell.

Lobster is surprisingly light, and not at all fishy. I'm afraid that if I say the lobster note isn't fresh enough for me, it's going to sound as if I think this smells like rotting fish. That's not what I mean at all. I repeat: this is not fishy. It's a slightly salty, low tide kind of smell. Actual lobster flesh has a sweet, delicate scent, and that's the aspect I wish was more prominent when I say I wish the lobster note was 'fresher.' If you've ever had the pleasure of eating fresh seafood right on the beach, I bet you will like this! Whether or not you want to wear it is a different question. (If it was just that little bit sweeter/fresher, I would. Really.)

This is the smell of the ocean on my skin. Gratefully, I do not smell seafood on my own skin at all. I love the ocean, the smell of skin at the beach, I was so curious about Lobster. Lobster is slightly sweet, buttery/salty, there is a hint of green from seaweed, a sparkle from the lemon note. Longevity is not good as expected with Demeter on my own skin and it is a skin scent. I am a Maine commercial lobster fisherman and I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone would want to smell remotely like lobster. I catch over 100,000lbs of lobster a year and am come from a long line of lobster fishermen so I am very familiar with live lobsters and also cooked lobster. Not the type of scent you want in a fragrance period.

I thought this would smell like a seafood shack on the pier, salty water, fresh air a little lemon, maybe some alcohol from the bloody mary id be drinking Instead it smells more like an inside of a red lobster in a strip mall of suburbia Being a coastal elite so obvi id never set foot into a red lobster but i can just tell

This is a lobster gourmand scent very rare and very delicious. It smells like when you put your nose to the flesh of the lobster at a seafood restaurant. It's a Red Lobster scent! I wear this on dinner dates when I'm having sea food. You have to match the environment with your fragrance! Love it.

What you will get from this: A little bit of butter in a tin pot of boiling water with a vague "shellfish" scent. (OK-- maybe they used REAL empty lobster shells ?) I like it as a "Library Scent" to visit once in a while. I just wish it was stronger so that I could actually WEAR it .

Could anyone tell me why in the world would someone want to smell like a 'pinch' of lobster?
