Rye Bread

I love this rye bread scent! Usually I have a hard time wearing perfumes because most don’t mix well with my body chemistry. I tested a sample first from the Demeter website then loved it so much I ordered the full size perfume, body lotion, shower gel, and a travel size to take with me on trips. Instead of hotel pillows that smell like bleach and cleaner I spray this rye bread scent for a bakery fresh bread out of oven smell that is yummy! If you love gourmand scents you should like this one. Buy a test size off Demeter’s website to see if this works on your body. I have good luck with Demeter scents and layer this scent with Fresh Brewed Coffee in the mornings it puts me in a great mood! This cologne only lasts 2 hours max on my extremely dry skin. The grapefruit scent lasts 3.5 hours and Pistachio lasts 4 hours so there are some scents that last longer. No trail left behind you have to be close to smell it. I bought it so I smell it while working around house. It is a fun way to smell like single scents you love without being stuck with it all day.

Whenever I first spray this, whether it's on my skin or on paper, it smells exactly like nail polish. But after 2 minutes of dry down the nutty scent takes over and shines through. Give it 30 minutes and you've got rye bread! Definitely is more of a skin scent, but I'm excited to layer it and use it to add a nutty note to other scents.

i cant say this doesnt smell like rye bread, particularly the darker kind i make when i add fennel seeds. i ordered a sample not long after i stopped baking as much & was missing the riga style rye i would make that i couldn’t find sold anywhere else around me. theres a bready, nutty, yeasty, fennel-y(anise) confluence that successfully gives rye bread. however! it’s nauseating to me, on skin or no there was always a mild creeping revulsion in the background when i would try to wear this. nothing else has provided the same reaction. i recently tried brioche vanille & was briefly reminded of this. i think the same material mustve been used to achieve the yeasty note but while in bv it sometimes hits weirdly in an almost sickening way it never has fully repulsed me like this has

This was disappointing for me. It came on with a strong whiff of cigarette smoke, so I couldn't detect much else. After the dry down, I definitely smelled the caraway but the scent of cigarette smoke lingered (unpleasant, like cigarettes in old buildings, not like a fresh, high quality one). The scent of cigarettes was so unpleasant, I failed to detect anything malty/wheaty/bready.

sorry, this doesn't smell at all like rye bread, or any kind of bread, to me. maybe straight white all purpose flour?

I was so swept up in the novelty of Rye Bread perfume that I forgot I don't really like the smell of rye bread.

This definitely smells like Rye Bread. I can smell pretty much every ingredient that makes up Rye Bread in this. You definitely get that malty wheat bread scent that Rye Bread smells like. I, also, pickup that caraway seed scent which is baked with the Rye dough. For those that dont know what caraway seed smells like- it smells like a much milder cross between cumin spice and fennel spice that is less sweet and rather dry. I am so happy I purchased this scent because it gave me a culinary lesson (I learned the history of rye bread all because of this scent). It is also a very complex scent to wear out in public. On its own, for a scent of the day, it is weird and different but only in the very best of ways. It somehow gives off a very light leather accord.

I always get a strong whiff of cumin/caraway from this scent, so I would say it's not any ordinary rye bread, but the kind generously seasoned with aromatic spices, which I love. Because of that cumin note, the scent starts out somewhat sharp, but then settles into a softer, grainy style. Sillage and longevity pretty much non-existent, so it probably won't work as a way of surprising someone around you with the smell, but it's great to spruce oneself up and a give oneself a little aromatic boost. (Also why is wheat listed as a note at all...)
