[NOV. 2023] Can confirm, Demeter's Tomato is a gorgeous green scent. Christopher Brossius can't miss when it comes to green genre perfumes. If you really have to, purchase his C.B. I Hate Perfumes collection on eBay. If you are looking for something more grassy however, this does not completely fit the bill. In fact, Hermes' Garden Sur Le Toit contains both grass and tomato leaf notes-- Hermes wins for the impression of meadow grass-- but if you came off disappointed by Hermes' overreliance on watery-airy atmospheric vibes (to the point of diluting the greenery), Demeter's Tomato is more accurate to the smell of garden leaves rather than grass dew. Unfortunately, both Hermes' Garden Sur Le Toit and Demeter's Tomato perform with mid longetivity and unless you can find me a grass/hay/tomato leaf perfume with the performance of the sadly discontinued Cartier's IV Fougeuse (the holy grail outdoor hay perfume IMO), you will have to make due (or dew) with the performance of either Hermes' Le Toit, or Demeter's Tomato. Fortunately, I found my holy grail green-gourmand at Libertine Parfumerie downtown: Robert Piguet's Zazen. Warm cereal, toasted rice, green corn leaves, vanilla powder. Extremely realistic but a whopping $335AUD in comparison to Demeter's $35AUD. Cartier's discontinued IV Fougeuse is an eye-watering $400AUD. If you have the patience to save, I highly recommend it. With either Fougeuse, or Zazen, you will have greenery that lasts a lifetime. If you're really desparate for price-performance quality and not U.S. based, prepare to wait 30 days after paying $50USD for shipping to your country after purchasing from the queen of greenery herself, Dawn Spencer Hurwitz (DSH Perfumes.) You can't beat the quality and passion of her works when it comes to Green genre perfumes, period. I highly recommend her Monet's Garden, or Re-Assess, Divine Garden (personally sampled back in 2019), or heirloom Dutchess County. UPDATE: You can prolong the longetivity of Demeter by spraying on the chest, and pits three times. When it dries, spray three extra times. It comes in 120ml for reason.

ok so due to some confusion in product picture vs. name, i ended up with tomato and not tomato seeds as i had initially thought. all well and good as i want to try both, even with seeds having such horrible reviews ^^; but anyway this is one of their most perfect recreations!!!! the smell of grandma's garden......they could make this an unofficial entry in Margiela's Replica series and end his whole career (im kiddinggg they dont have the strength or longevity of a proper perfume so that would never happen. but seriously if someone would take this exact scent and just amplify it i would pay significant money) this is 100% the top note i was dreaming of for DKNY women so im very happy. even if it doesnt last two shakes of a lamb's tail - having such a scent bottled is worth every penny <3

the myth ! the legend !! i always use demeter tomato as my go-to when trying to flip people's preconceived notions about fragrance on their head. i actually find green family fragrances to be the coolest of cool, chicest of chic, and still rather unexpected. tomato--which to my nose is more about the leaf and dirt than the fruit (don't worry about being ketchupy, there's no vinegar or sugar here !)--is the ultimate green scent. i always crave it as suggestions of spring arrive. does it last long ? nah. small bottle though -- carry it with ya in your bag and top off as so-desired. tomato is demeter fragrances at their best.

wearing this makes me feel like a little fairy living in somebody's garden and stealing their tomato leaves to make dresses out of. like most demeter frags it only last two hours but i DONT CAREEEE because its zingy, green, and nostalgic and the bottle is affordable. the color of this fragrance would be sunshine yellow. makes me want to eat big watermelon slices under a shady tree. 10/10

I second what @kiraagold said: it's "urban gardening hipster chick", and if you ever feel like you want to be that today, Tomato is the perfect choice. Doesn't scream "I'm vegan", but if a great fit for young millennial. Jokes aside, I really love this.

Smells like tomato, or rather, a tomato vine. I LOVE the smell of tomato vine. love, Love, LOVE! I use this as room spray in my home office to cheer myself up when I'm cooped up inside. Good on fabric. I don't wear as personal fragrance.

Pick-me-up is right. This is a spicy green tomato vine - the scent of a summer vegetable garden, a walk through the farmers market (my happy place). Doesn't last at all. But I'll spray it all over when I need a mood boost.

Very VERY green! Rub tomato leaves with your fingers and that's what this is. Great for layering with florals... unisex on its own.

Smells like if you pinch a tomato leaf or if you have a bunch of fresh cherry tomatoes.

This is absolutely fascinating. Demeter has managed to capture the smell of a tomato plant; vine, leaves, tomatoes, blossoms....the entire plant. This is what I smell when I visit my parents during the summer months and we walk out back to pick tomatoes fresh off the vine. This is very green, with a soft blossom vegetal-sweetness. It's beautiful. Had I not received this as a sample with my order, I would have never had the opportunity to try it as I'm unlikely to have picked it on its own. I am grateful Demeter included it. Never would have considered "Tomato" being a wearable scent, but I'm enjoying it so clearly it is. Wear time is around 4 hours and sillage is within arms length. Nice, subtle, pretty, and fairly unusual. I'm going to enjoy it for the summer and see what I can layer it with. I'll add an edit if I find anything interesting.

Completely perfect, right in the bottle. It's fresh and green and spicy and unmistakable. Go rub a tomato leaf, and this is how your hands will smell. I don't know how they did it, but they nailed it. There were 10 other fragrances in my Demeter order today, and this is the bottle I cannot keep my nose away from. On my skin, the green note fades and it's 90% pungent spiciness.

This is every urban gardening hipster chick sunbathing topless on the roof, stray honeysuckle and dandelion weeds overtaken by crushed tomato leaves and the great red globes ripening on the vine. A smudge of pollution and sweat and dirt sticks to the skin, but doesn't stop the invasive Organic Goddess green. Incredibly intriguing. I'd worship her in the summer.

I really like this scent, but as is all Demeter colognes, the longevity is the pits. Tomato smells like fresh picked tomatoes off the vine. Mixed with a spritz or 2 of Demeter Cucumber and it is perfect! A nice Summer scent when you want to stray from the Coconuts and Tropical Florals.

I’ve been wanting a green perfume and she is perfect for that! Smells exactly like you’re picking tomatoes from your garden in a long, soft dress to surprise your partner by adding them to the pasta sauce you’ll be making together that night :) simple yet soo satisfying

Realistic green tomato plant smell! I'll use it for layering or alone. Moderate performance. I love it! One of the best Demeter fragrances. Interesting layering combo Bvlgari Aqua Marine + Tomato

For me it was too strong, but my man used to like it very much, because he has oily skin or some skin chemistry which makes all the scents milder, so it suited for him very well and was nice.

This is more tomato (plant) than tomato (fruit), would love a little more sweetness and a lot more longevity but overall I really like this.

Opens with a realistic smell of tomato leaves, but quickly evolves into a soapy, cologne-like fragrance. Very fresh and still enjoyable.

Very nice. A nice change from all those sugary-sweet scents out there.
