Musk

Gorgeous cut-price cousin of Givenchy Gentleman, and the first fragrance I've come across, since starting my investigations about 6 months ago, that I can imagine wearing full-time. Also the first to get a compliment from my perfume-sceptical husband. It does what the old GG did, which is to seem to blend flawlessly with one's body smell, even if one is freshly showered and doesn't have a body-smell. It's a warm, earthy, comforting odour which one would like to naturally exude. It does that patchouli thing of giving you a feeling of "intimacy with oneself," as Abdes Salaam rather racily puts it on naturalnicheperfume.com. A tiny bit dirty but not animalic. I am spraying with caution as it seems quite strong. It is still all there after 8 hours or so, and lingers wonderfully on fabric for a couple of days. It's cheap as chips and perhaps lacks GG's luxurious flash of excitement. But is that to do with packaging? GG was an object of desire, whereas here, if one buys the deo, one has to look past the horrendous bargain basement cheap black plastic dispenser and the unfortunate ghoul-green-tinted glimpse of denim on the label. (The aftershave is slightly more glamorous.) I'm ambivalent about patchouli. I like it when it's raw and neat, straight from the hippie shop, but often find it nauseating in perfumes. Things like Reminiscence seem sickly and stupid to me. It's like perfumers push it in all sorts of different directions, none of which I much like. But this is a smooth patchouli ride, especially the deo. The aftershave is slightly more intense, less innocent, more perfumy. It comes out fighting, and for a moment one is whisked back to the halcyon days of the original GG. But I think the deo is rounder and all in all more lovable. A word of warning: this lovely juice will immediately collapse if poured into a plastic decant. It will go completely pear-shaped, emitting a strong whiff of plastic bio-hazard bags and burnt rubber. I bought Denim Musk and Denim Black after falling in love with Denim Original. Now i have fallen in love not once, not twice, but three god damn times. Denim Original is a masterpiece, Denim Black is very, very nice, but Musk is superb and really unique. In my opinion, this Fragrance has little to no citrus. It opens very musky, a bit powdery, and a bit woody with a little hint in the back of my sinuses of what makes the Original such a gem. I smell something sweet and floral. , i smell a fair bit of dirty, sexy Musk (which i REALLY enjoy), and some old school, masculine oakmoss/patchouli. This is even sexier than the Original, and also the sillage is a little bit less intimidating which again makes you more mysterious to the people around you who you want to impress. I cant remember the last time i got something so good for so cheap unless i count the Denim Original. This house know how to make banger fragrances. Smell: 10 or even 11/10 Longevity: 8/10 Sillage: 8/10

If you like patchouli, sweet citrus, lavender you are going to love this. I personally prefer this masculine perfume more than a lot of expensive alternatives for everyday use any season of the year. Longevity and silage perfect. Price? Come on.. It's so cheap that you can't believe it's true. A lot of garbage are much more expensive. Compliments? A lot. Am I serious? YES I AM. Stunning! This puts many modern, wanna be fougere aromatics in the corner crying...its blend and performance stand for high quality and raw perfection, reminding me of traces of Rochas Macassar with an added mint note. If a niche brand would release this today (like Tom Ford`s Beau de Jour) people would be raving about it and spending 150+ bucks on 50ml. Instead Denim Musk stands tall since 1982 costing about 10-12 Usd for a 100ml and a longevity of 24+ hours. Earthy, green, mossy, dirty, strong, raw & strong. Perfect!

My Favorite Muskscent! since 1987 At first, I had exactly aftershave. Then came the toilet water. Both are good. absolutely comfortable. over all these years I have become so accustomed to it that I cannot describe the pyramid - this is absolutely not important. I feel more in this scent good feelings and memories associated with it. Collects discreet but constant compliments. Good in both EDT and aftershave. One minus - from time to time Denim Musc stop releasing.

This fragrance is really beautiful. It smells like walking through a damp forest that has tea tree growing in it. The myrtle is moderate but still identifiable. Longevity and sillage aren't a match for Denim Original but it's still on my skin at 8hrs. It starts big but retracts quickly to a cloud of soft green around the wearer.An excellent choice when going big is inappropriate but you still want to smell nice. Much better than you would expect for the price.

Wow! TOM FORD Beau De Jour, but at a price of a street food dish! I love it, my wife loves it, some say it can use to disperse violent protest, but I love it and that’s what’s really important. It makes me feel good, helps you feel fresh and elegant at the same time. Feel like a real man, like men used to be long time ago before the became hormonal. I reccomend it, buy it and don’t think twice. If your girl loves it, she’s a keeper.

Classic old school masculine. Patchouli and wood, with the slightest hint of animalic sweetness. Gorgeous. Performance is great and it plays well with others. A true giant among cheapies.

My Dad used to wear this and I still have the bottle with half juice. I never use it as it may run low. Definition of masculinity . It's green,it's raw,its animalic ,its beautiful !

Green animalic classic fragrance and best bang for your buck in that category.

Initial spray was interesting, right away you get this musky burst of carnal funk with a hint of lavender which I quite like and was something I was after now that I've exhausted my phase of freshies and now I'm after things that smell more raw and musky. Denim Musk doesn't stray too far into unwashed ballsack territory but there's that essence of skin sebum or animal fur in there... I don't get any of the citrus though. And then it dries down to these lovely earthy woods blanketed with chocolatey patchouli which VERY much resembles that patchouli-rosewood accord that Davidoff Zino impressed me with when I wore it many times during winter. I also much prefer this one to the original Denim, which I found too earthy and rugged for my taste. However I'm not sure if it's just the juice or my nose but the scent seems to wear off quite fast and I wouldn't be surprised if it was olfactory fatigue since it does start off quite strong... and the sprayer pumps out a LOT. Overall though the scent profile is lovely and definitely stands apart from today's standard affair of blue fragrances and gourmands, and what an absolute bargain too!

I presume the myrtle here gives this fragrance its distinctive musty/musky feel. Fragrantica's Notes section says: "... intense herbal-like aromatic-floral note ...", and it's that herbacious aroma I'm getting. With a large whack of patchouli perhaps the herbal myrtle combines to create a dank sort of vibe. Also, above, the pyramid lists 'oriental woodsy notes', so I don't know how much difference that makes as opposed to mere woodsyness, but it does smell spicier somehow; peppery with cumin. I've had it on for a couple of hours now and like it. A high citrus/lavender accord continues through this from a sharp opening Followed almost immediately by that musty, musky, animalic (myrtle/patch/cumin?) smell appears and sits there throughout. So a combination of high juicy sharpness and low damp must give an odd but pleasing experience. The lavender note stays pretty constant to my nose too, even becoming more prominent in drydown. Lasts well on my skin.

I just got the aftershave splash for £2.99 and it's a absolutely gorgeous; nothing old or weird about this. Green, bitter and minty Pernod-esque artemisia, over chocolatey, rich patchouli. The herbal bitterness also reminds me of an Italian Amaro liqueur. I will slap this on when I'm going to wear Davidoff Zino, and will certainly buy a bottle of the EDT when I come across one.

Denim - Musk (1982) Opens up like Davidoff Zino and dries down like Givenchy Gentleman. Not as smooth as those two, but still enjoyable if you like vintage fragrances. Lots of earthy patchouli. Classic rugged vibes for sure. Performance is good. Projects well and lasts all day. I found it for $12 on eBay. At such a low cost, it’s definitely worth trying.

Poor man's chanel anteus with less funkiness and more wood.

Is it a classic? Never remember if I smelled this when I was a child. But it smells old, in a calming way. For me, first notes are quite harsh and bitter. The bitterness lingers after a long time, hovering with the sweet musky scent. Perfect for the evening after a hard day work in the fabrication yard, when you're alone with a nice cup of coffee. Try before you buy. I got it cheap 6 bucks at a small store, it's worth to try.

I thought with the name "musk" on it, it's supposed to be softer than the original Denim. It isn't. After a while, bitterness green appears and lingers on. From Patchouli perhaps? Musk exists only for a short moment. Bought the after shave version in 2016 in an old shop in Karimun Besar Island just for my curiosity. Get the original one, for me its soapy scent dry down is more pleasing.

woody? Patchouli? musk??? Its a green grass scent. From 5 Denims what I had this one less I like, but for springtime when nature came green this scent is pretty good.

Deodorant version smells really refreshing of fresh flowers and patchouli. Aftershave smells of sandalwood and patcouli.

The old unrefined perfumes of the past have the same smell as this. As a child I remember that sometimes some old people wore this perfume to go to church on Easter or Christmas. Today I was shopping when my eyes went to the shelf of alleged fragrances. I gave a "snort" and immediately there was a boom of memories of my childhood. Vague resemblance to the beautiful "Vetiver de Java" of "Il Profvmo".

I just tested Denim Musk in after-shave for the first time in my life. I read somewhere that it smelled like a niche perfume or rather the niche perfume smelled like Denim Musk, so I went to big supermarket (the only place where you still find these scents, now considered so out of fashion here) and tried it. There was no tester for Original and the tester for Denim Musk was almost drained. I could spray a tiny amount. I expected this to be somewhere close do Rockford, but it's not. I'm not sure how it could smell in big amounts but this way it was not a bad one. Also not noticeable and no sillage, but average duration. It smells very musky and green and for me quite new, because no one I ever knew used this. My bf wrinkled his nose, as usual. Instead I think that according to some chemistry it could make an easy musky scent for autumn and quite unisex.

“This is probably what Andrew Tate smells like.” -My Husband This is synthetic, dry patchouli and somehow it also feels oily. I can find something redeeming about most scents but this is a horror show from top to bottom for me. It made me immediately and viscerally ill. It actually made me nauseous to have this on my skin. It actually made me almost lose my lunch. Also if you’re prone to migraines please know that this triggered one for me in under five minutes. I scrubbed it off my skin with STRONG DISH SOAP and can STILL smell it several hours later. If you want to smell like Andrew Tate (probably) then this one is for you.

Hello Fragranticians! This is my first fragrance review ever. Hence the excuisite and sublime subject: "Denim Musk: for the man who never has to ask!" Cool slogan! It rhymes! ...In some countries at least it does. It's also "For the man who never likes to pay". I consider the equivalent of 3,50 GBP I paid recently for a 100 ml splash After Shave in Warsaw, Poland, rather well spent. Great scent, up there with the giants of the low-cost shaving business such as Tabac Original, Brut or Old Spice, as well as the original Denim which I personally cherish slightly less. This scent's toothpasty - shoepolishy - oscillating freshnes and the cozy woody ground it hovers above are really, really very pleasant and classy in it's own special way. Longevity? I wish it was better, but to be fair, It isn't much worse at this then my recently purchased TF Oud Wood (a fragrance "For the man who never has to ask for the price"). UPDATE AFTER 1 MONTH OF FIELD RESERCH: The Practical Use of Denim Musc for it's Original Purpose : So you ask about DM's "never have to ask"- abilities compared to today's leading pantydropper scents, all of them at least 15 times more expensive ? Hmmm...it's a little tricky. Certainly if you insist upon wearing it during wild hunting nights out in the party zone, you can do it, but be prepared for the more "experienced" kind of prey only, waiting to be hunted down by you, armed with "Denim Musk" as you are, so adjust your target choice accordingly. Quick changes in today's fragrance fashion trends pose a serious problem for the Denim Musk friend since the signal sent out to the chosen won't be "I'm the best smelling male around" anymore. However, the actual one which goes like "We're both not the youngest here, I know what to do, time is scarce, so surrender quickly" while less optimistic, is more likely to give you the pragmatic advantage over the former, which is, well...not quite clear. Warning! The above quotes are what the smell of Denim Musk is supposed to be saying, Not You! Voicing such a message literally in a disco may diminish your chances of a successfull hunt substantially and shouldn't be used other than A. as a last resort or B. by humming it softly just to yourself like some background music so to speak, while pacifying an already helpless and immobilized target. Works best at around 5 AM or later. Extremely recommended. "For the man who allready has to shave". Be brave and wear Denim Musk with pride! Cheers! Denim Musk. My second Denim EDT. When it arrived in the mail, Denim Musk's box is a wondeful shade of green. The box itself smelled of heavy oakmoss. Spraying this on, I thought it was going to be a hulking Green and Black beast. It certainly opened like that but quickly dried down to a root beer note and also reminding me of a Dollar Tree Imitation Polo I once had. This stuff is pretty crude, with drfinately no expert perfumery here. Also, there is not even the slightest HINT of musk in this one. I am not to impressed with the Denim line, though I havent tried the original. But this one at least beats Denim Black.

Woody-chypre, with a slightly vintage feel. A tough blend of herbs and patchouli. It begins with the sharpness of newly grown grass. The initial tones are quite piercing. The bitterness lingers and gradually transitions into a spicy wood scent with a hint of powderiness. Patchouli-infused green myrtle imparts a dry, woody tone to the composition. This mix produces a unique, pleasant aroma. The inclusion of oriental wood scents brings a touch of spiciness. Approximately 8 hours later, the scent is still detectable and remains strong. A great chypre fragrance with woody notes perfect for mature men.

"Denim musk: for the man who never has to ask!" That was the slogan. The advertisement just show an open denim shirt on a muscled chest (no face) and the hand of a woman, super red nails, that from behind try to fit inside the shirt directed to his heart like a snake, until he stop the hand with his hand exactly like a knife on a tarantula! So indiana with overdose of testosterone! The fragrance has nothing to do with "white musk". Is a strong blend of oakmoss patchouly and herbs. Aromatic and more fresh than heavy. Reminds Kanon in a fresh way.

I love this fragrance, its Oak-moss and Patchouly blends with Orange and Citruses and leaves me dreamming for a moment, then wakes me up in a role of, a male that smells very mature. It is Sweet but has that note of seriousness (as it says it is warmspicy). 2 me it has some of "bussines success" in its notes and is like that maby, because one of our familly friend who was succesfull smelled like it (mean on notes). It lasts longer than the other low-cost aftershaves.

I get Mauboussin pour homme straight off the bat, and then it slowly flits between Zino and back. Then the lavender comes into play and I can see the Beau De Jour comparison. Very masculine, very strong and surprising depth and longevity for its insanity cheap price. If you're a guy, just buy it. Massive reward for little risk.

Well Denim perfumes and deodrants are famous in the world. It has long lasting smell which enforce the pure musk of Denim fragrance. It is a strong blend of mystical solutions. Just for 2$ i buy this perfume on Ringabell and and even i have searched here for the Denim Perfumes.

Been through a bottle of the aftershave and man I need to buy another! Very well done earthy patchouli from what I remember. Smells proper old school - great! For an aftershave it performed surprisingly well too. Tip - layer this with Georgio Beverley Hills for men.

There's nothing much musky about this, but it's really smells like a damp sponge or something like this, not a classic patchouli, if you wanted those vibes from it, maybe search elsewhere, other than that it hits like a 100 ton truck, very heavy!

Great patchouli cheapie ,try it if you find it, it has similar vibes of patchouli in a great classic perfume and that is givenchy gentleman, great one and a great winner if it has a better performance.

Denim Musk is way too herbal for my taste, I suggest you try before you buy. I much prefer denim original, it's fresh and much safer to use especially in Today's world.

Tried aftershave concentration cheapy from codaa Switzerland. Its warltered down, no citrus nor lavander, not even synthetic musk notes. It has only patchouli.

High quality juice!!!! Full of oakmoss, patchouli and hevily mentolated. Fougere Bengale has copied this.

Guys... Is there any perfume scent's close to denim musk...? Sadly I can't get it in my country now
