First review for me here since joining, so I'll make it one of my classic favourites. :) So, I'm starting to get on a bit now, I'm forty seven and scent wise at the mo I'm kinda hitting the point of getting into the fragrances that were of my youth I guess, I also kinda got bored of the unisex scent thang (I'm mostly looking at you, CK fragrances) and have been getting back into the more masculine scents from the thirties to the nineties. Denim Original is almost like my dirty secret, I just rediscovered it, my uncle always used this, it was always in my grandparents bathroom with Old Spice (another of my favourits, this was my Grandads scent & great uncles) I can't get over how much I like the smell of this, especialy at the price and I have some damn good scents in my collection (original YSL Jazz being my all time favourite) I would take this over a lot of more expensive scents, I just love the citrus/spice opening top notes with the dry off going into such a nice spice/wood combo, it seems to last for hours on my skin and thats with a full work day followd by walking my two dogs, I find it to smell very masculine in a way most modern scents just don't. I can't help but keep smelling my wrist when I have the EDT on. I do the whole shebang with this, shower gel, aftershave & deodorant along with the EDT. I'm not sure that younger people would like wearing this or pull it off as such, as these days it smells like more of a mature fragrence to me, but it's certainly in the range of scents that make sme feel manly and confident when I have it on, I was also quite surprised with the compliments I got wearing it for work. So for me, it's a definite thumbs up and recomended one to try and the price realy can't be beaten, the smell hits way above the line for this, all in all, it makes me feel like a man who doesn't have to try... too hard ;) :D

Got the Edt in Dubai and the after shave in Italy. EDT: Has a new vapo precision nozzle , which is simply a stunning atomizer , sprays out so very well and equally and it's a just a delight to spray it over and over. The fragrance is simple , Musky soap and slight herbal vetiver.. very refreshing and soothing. Nothing to complain for the price. Loving the atomizer once again.Value for money.Performance is great. Update 28-05-2017:Super Sillage and longevity. Update 28-07-2017 Such a lovely and pleasing fragrance, its still modern, can be worn in summer (even on the hottest day-40 degree Celsius) it wont get cloying and will still pleas you and your surrounding. Will suit the other seasons also without a doubt. Very respectable longevity and projection. Even if over sprayed it cant offend and the best part ...Lot of smooth and rich herbal vetiverish frankincense topped with good musk. Got a backup bottle and will spray the hell out of it on me. Aftershave: Spicer and a bit better than the Edt. I had one bottle in 98. This is my second one and brings me sweet memories. Good to carry it along as it will refresh you instantly. Low longevity.Finally happy to own both.

Wow, I can recall the very first time I ever smelt, used and enjoyed this smell, I was about 5 or 6 and my nan had mixed one of my grandads presents in with one of my own, I can remember being super excited that I had my own bottle of aftershave, just like my dad !... I don’t think the smell of it mattered much to me at all, it was about being a MAN & I loved it all the same.. it was a splash in the hand, rub together and a slap of the cheeks and neck job & I’d press the bottle on each shoulder so it was on my clothes I wore it everywhere everyday , when I’d run out to stop me stealing my dads old spice, brut or Aramis haha, I may have been bought more , i also remember for the next few christmases stealing my grandads bottle because of course he got my present ... I hadn’t thought of that whole memory some 30 odd years ago until I just saw it on here moments ago, I can actually smell it in my minds nose almost , gonna have to buy a bottle arnt I haha Yeah so I’ve no idea if it’s any good, but I’ll find out

Original Denim interested me for the most valid of all reasons: they sponsored motor racing, especially Formula 1. That was in the 70s and 80s during my youth so yes, Denim evokes fond memories. But not one to dwell in the past, I enjoy wearing Denim now because it is a classic fragrance. I feel comfortable and confident wearing Denim - and I still love this fragrance. It has a light, fresh scent that differentiated it when it debuted in 1976 and set the stage for other lighter, fresher scents that followed. Denim has become hard to find in the US but I have lately found it via Amazon.com. The fragrance is clean, fresh, and pastoral and wears well through the day. Longevity is excellent for a light scent, and I believe the sillage to be intriguing and slightly mysterious - "what IS that fragrance, and WHERE is it coming from?" And as zouve said earlier - Denim is old school without being old, and a great value, far less expensive than most of the fragrances that followed its lead.

8/10- Great aftershave/cologne. Denim Original aftershave is a spicy woody fragrance suitable not for a kid but a man, a man who ladies respect. The olibanum is the star of the notes with really warm spices and cedarwood on the body, and a cologne-y dry-down of petitgrain and amber. This fragrance shines in winter, it's a really cozy and warm feeling fragrance and surprisingly the blend is incredibly smooth being highly concentrated in alcohol in the after-shave version. I use the scent as a splash cologne. Projects very well and leaves a mild trail behind you, the fragrance performs for over 8hrs every time. Priced at under 5 USD for 100ml, I suggest everyone try an entire bottle as a sample before judging. Let the scent grow on you, your patience will be rewarded. Note: Denim Azure is a close cousin to the Original Denim with menthol-y top and fresh soapy-ness to its backbone and a similar dry-down.

This is fantastic value for money. It's for the working man - a masculine, aromatic, spicy/fresh fragrance with respectable longevity. What shocks me most is that it doesn't smell that cheap. At first spray, you do get a somewhat abrasive greeting, but it soon mellows down into a rich, deep, golden freshness. It's great to know you can smell this good no matter how tight your budget. The only complaint would be the ugly black bottle, with cheap cap, often leaky, medallion not centered, and the sprayer that releases a LOT of juice. But then again, it's so cheap you can afford to go through it quickly. I think I'm always going to have a bottle on-hand, and might check out some others in the range.

Out of the over 140 different fragrances in my collection, Denim Original is the one I reach for the most. The frosted glass bottle, or the new Original in the black bottle, it is simply perfect. The dry down is pure ecstasy. There are definitely more notes than what is listed here. I definitely get a wonderful Patchouli note in the middle and late stages of the dry down. A smooth brown soft Leather is in there. Basil and Mandarin Orange are there too. Parfumo.net has the complete note listing. This is one of those hidden unknown gems in the world of perfumery that deserves much more praise and attention. I wouldn't change a thing. 5 out of 5 stars.

What is the truth? Here is the new perfume pyramid, from the official Denim website, on French language (on basic English page the fragrance notes is not listed) It is completely different from the old one. NOTE DE TÊTE Bergamote, Armoise, Citron, Galbanum NOTE DE COEUR Fleur d'oranger, Jasmin, Rose, Iris, Thym NOTE DE FOND Cuir, Patchouli, Cèdre, Musc végétal, Musc I bought a Denim Original perfume yesterday out of curiosity, but I don't feel any change compared to the old formula. What are the experiences?

Came across a deal on this hard to find gem. I've been on a vintage fragrance kick and this just blew my mind. For a cheap fragrance, it is so well blended and lasts a very long time. Proof that a cheap EDT can out perform an expensive parfum if blended right. I get the black licorice vibe for about 15 minutes, then a citrus, green, mossy fougere style classic fragrance with some heft. Blows away my current formulations of Polo, Drakkar and Aramis. If you like classic men's fragrances, you'll love this one!

This is amazing! To the ordinary tought, this seems like an average drugstore aftershave here in Europe, but my god, I can't explain how spicy dirty this is in the cleanest, most masculine way. Call me crazy, but I have smelled over a hundred fragrances designer and even niche, and this is my NUMBER TWO of all time, after Drakkar Noir/Lomani Pour Homme. This stuff is cheaper, and better smelling than any cheap drugstore EDT. If you mind the 4 hour projection, just bathe in this stuff, it's that affoardable

As a result of a kind fellow frag head who sent me a decant, I just ordered a bottle on Amazon, at a great price! IMO, Original Denim is in the Fenti/Antaeus/Versace L'Homme neighborhood with that masculine, dusty-powdery base (the only "powder" I like, not Canoe/Wild Country powdery); Original Denim is a dry and clean smelling scent. If this was called something like "Bellabravio," I'd bet it could be branded as a more sophisticated, upscale scent. Performance is very good. Highly recommend.

Probably the most advantageous cologne, an orange amber type of smell at the begining, but then a bit heavy leathery olibanum drydown, suitable for colder days, not very much for an office, rather for an evening. One spray is enough. Aftershave is more pleasant and suitable for daily wear. I can smell especially an orange, amber, olibanum, vetiver and leather. If it was prepared from quality natural ingredients like Trumper does, it would probably be the best-selling cologne.

Just bought a 100 ml at Pingo in Portugal on the after Christmas sale for 7 Euros. To me it smells exactly like I remembered it throughout the years. Awesome. Still "Made in Italy", still a no bs men's cologne, still a lot of fun. You can keep your ambroxan bombs, you sweet cardamom crapola, your fancy packaging, magnetic caps, and most importantly your rip-off overpricing. This 7 Euro fragrance will always be one step ahead of it all. A true 10/10 masterpiece, bar none!

Mmmm, spicy and earthy. Love the frankincense in this, it's bold and is a big part of the fragrance. Can't say I noticed any citrus in it but I wouldn't want it trying to compete with the frankincense. If you're looking for subtlety, you won't find it. It's very masculine and simplistic in it design and shines in what it does. This is also reflected in its price, it's very cheap, not for the elite and their conspicuous consumption but for the working man.

I first used the aftershave, quickly emptied the bottle and bought another, love the scent. Now I have tracked down the EdT from a seller in Portugal (fast shipping to California which was great) I sprayed one spray on my hand last night, and could still smell it in the morning, long lasting! In the vein of my favorites (Quorum, Aramis, Open) This great stuff. Smells liek Brut, but without the powderiness, and last much longer. Glad I bought two bottles.

Distilled, refined and concentrated masculinity in a bottle. I have worn D&G the one for men as my signature for almost a decade and recently bought some relatively cheap fragrances because i wanted something cheaper to wear on lazy days. I must admit i am considering switching to this as my signature, because it is so much more masculine and it's sillage is a lot better. 11/10, will buy again.

I got this for 8$ in the supermarket. This smells very manly , woody with a bit of resin and green. Definitely the olibanum and the vetiver stand out as most noticeable. I can say I love this. A bargain! Moreover, the longevity on this is very good... 5-7 hours on me EDIT: I realised you can get even a full day out of it, but with low silage..

Fantastic manly, vintage, cheap ass fragrance. Feels synthetic and strong the first time you spray it, but the second or third time you wear it--you get the reason why it got so popular between the 80s and 90s. It's extremely famous in Italy due to their old spots on Italian TV. PER L'UOMO CHE NON DEVE CHIEDERE MAI 🗣🗣🗣

I have the aftershave and it's lovely. I feel energized and revitalizes when I splash myself with denim original. It's fresh spicy and zesty that can last and enjoyed for some period of time. This is safe to buy if you are into classic barbershop or 80s powerhouse and inexpensive.

Powerful, rough-around-the-edges in a very engaging and manly way, incredible value considering you could pick up a full bottle of this for the price of a sample from some niche house which you can barely tell if you're wearing anything or not... This stuff does not mess about.

Signature scent for the working man, this is really a great fragrance. If you like the "For Men"'s, the "Pour Homme"'s and the "Pour Lui"'s from the designers, the Aromatic Fougeres and what nots - this is the same, or even better, for a fraction of the price.

To me, Denim original EDT it's the work-horse since '90 years. Strong scent and long lasting, some persons have a positive remarks when they feel it. I used variants Denim EDT black and green (musk) but I still prefer the Original. I recommend in blind buy.

This is a lighter version of original Aramis, but not bad with the longevity and sillage. I got 6 plus hours with the EDT, not dissapointed at all. Try it if you can find near yours, very cheap but very nice quality

Imagine Bogart Signature hit with a decent splash of Mr. Blass and a touch of Quorum. If there's ever an all time list of Best Bangs For Your Buck, this had better be on it.

Manly. Vintage. Cheap. Two balls like that. In the good old days. Herbal, green, strong and who cares about today's tastes? A perfect dad's cologne.

Excellent, timeless masterpiece, the best Denim fragrance at ridiculous price. Very deep and manly, without unisex-feeling. Recommended!

This surely doesn't smell like its price point. Much better than what you'd expect from a $10 fragrance. A very pleasant surprise

An evocative music is playing in the background. A woman's hand with blood red nails, is slowly coming down a man's chest, caressing prepensely his jeans shirt. She wantonly opens one of its buttons, clearly showing what her intentions are, and then moves to the next one. Before unbuttoning it too, the man's hand falls abruptly on hers, stopping it. A gruff male voice says: "Denim. For the man who doesn't have to try too hard..." It's 1976. I'm sitting mesmerised in front of the TV, trying to decipher in my juvenile mind what this commercial is about. Words like sex and lust mean nothing to me, and girls are just for scaring them, or chasing them down to empty a glass of water on their heads. It's 1982. Girls now mean a lot more than they used to, and I know what sex is and what the commercial was talking about. Theoretically at least. One of my uncles, a not handsome but charming as hell man, has the frozen glass bottle, which some years ago took my breath away, in his bathroom. Without thinking twice, I pour a good deal on my hands and splash it on my face. And I'm mesmerised again. My cheeks become red with excitement. This is the real thing! This is... sex! Or at least how sex must smell like. I exit the bathroom and wait for a while, trying to come up with an excuse for the way I smell. In less than 5 seconds, my uncle raises his head from 5 metres away and with a broad smile on his face he asks "Do you like it?"... It's 2014. Nearly 40 years after it hit the ground running, Denim is still the smell of my night-time fantasies, and it evokes the same excitement which I felt when I was trying to understand what was it that a man didn't have to try too hard about back in 1976. I don't know of any other product, perfume or not, that goes on with the same slogan for 40 years, which means that the bloody thing works. And how could it be any different? This is one of the most honest and downright fragrances I know, if it doesn't top them all. It's raw, it's unpretentious, it's easygoing, it's as masculine as they come. It's Denim. Simple as that...

I just ordered off of Amazon US and received the box pictured here, frosted bottle, silver lettering, made in Italy. This is some potent juice.. and very inexpensive. I wish all fragrances were like this. I have one spray on my forearm and it's projecting like crazy, so go easy on the sprays. Classic, manly, authoritative, slightly soapy/after-shave, no BS type of scent. If you're over 30 with some hair on your chest, this is signature scent worthy. Perfect for the office. Any weather, any occasion. Denim conjures up memories of my dad shaving in our steamy bathroom before church on an optimistic Sunday morning. If you like old school smelling frags like Paco Rabanne Pour Homme, Versace L'Homme, Quorum, and Patrick by Fragrances of Ireland, this is right up your alley. If you however prefer Invictus, One Million, and Eros, stay away :)

Upon first spray, all I get is a dry earthiness with some spice lurking in there somewhere, like putting my nose in potting soil. After about and hour there is no improvement, maybe some of the harsh initial earthiness is mellowed out but still a little too funky for my liking. Update: After a couple days of leaving it to sit, the earthiness has actually mellowed out significantly, it's surprisingly much smoother and I'm beginning to get more of the sage and the balsamic resin. It's fresh but like a botanical freshness with some funk, I like the blend quite a bit and the sillage is about a forearm's length. Strong vetiver at the base as well, reminding me a little of Encre Noire. I can see why people like this one! Much happier with the result after a few days, maybe all it needed was to mature a little?

I got this for Christmas as a complete surprise coincidentally alongside Eros EDT and I immediately thought it is gonna suck b**ls and I'm never gonna use it. I gave it a quick test, I almost puked because the at the very top it smells like fernet... Washed my hands, threw it in a drawer. Today though I gave it another chance because here it has over 4/5 and yeah, how is this so good? Patchouli, vetiver, some aromatic resins, vanilla... What??? I can pick this up at the local Kaufland instead of three frozen pizzas? How is this not an instant recommendation? Imma stop killing people in the gym with Eros, this is the vibe!

Got the deodorant and I really liked the smell so I had to cop the fragrance as well since it's rather cheap. - Manly AF - Might make you seem older than you really are and many people will tell you that you smell like their dad/grandpa - Works amazing as a gym scent since it pretty much covers any other smell around it, sweat has nothing on this - Can cause people to randomly sit straight and throw soldier salutes at you after they get a whiff - You might grow a third testicle after rocking this - The urge to fight a bear with nothing but an axe grows with each wear

"Created by Fabergé" with Unilever originally for the Italian market. So, in a sense, yet another "Italian" fragrance that survives to today, perfect, modest, pleasant, classy, and good value. I enjoy it for the frankincense, which isn't churchy or damp. I suppose it's synthetic but I don't mind. It mixes with a light smoke. No flowers, masculine, and for any age.

Extremely masculine, aromatic and slightly fresh scent, this is the cheapest perfume I own. It has character and uniqueness. It makes you smell like a real gentleman: it evokes confidence, assertiveness, dominance and politeness. Weak performance, but what can you expect from a perfume that costs as much as a deodorant? 7/10

Today, I did the complete Denim grooming suite - the shower gel, aftershave, deo, and EDT. There's no denying it's a charming uncomplicated fragrance that's masculine, fresh and optimistic. I particularly like the fleeting scent of the aftershave.

Great value. The aftershave has a nice vetiver smell. The shave soap has more bergamont.

This one is not for me. Whilst I love Denim Musk for it's minty patchouli twist, I find the original to be annoyingly sharp, whilst also powdery in a very pedestrian, elderly way. I own a few fragrances from the 70's & 80's, but this one brings me mainly negative associations from that era. My preferred take on powdery/warm is Pierre Cardin; much more wearable for me than this. Worth a try for €6 but not a keeper.

Having Original Denim on skin feels like waking up, because it smells like reality. Do not expect compliments while wearing it. Expect respect.

You get a lot for such a low price. soapy clean manly fragrance that is better than most niche high priced fragrances out there. 7/10

I love the drydown, which has a beautiful aromatic base and a sweet musk, kind of smells like a baby powder, reminds me of tabac mauer and wirtz. But the begining is just terrible for me, smells and feels chypre like aramis and aramis tuscany, which isnt a bad thing per se, but they all bring me a weird gag reflex and headache. If that is your thing, you will like this. Lasts long as a skin scent with that sweet drydown, cheap as hell. Jack of all trades type deal.

This is almost repulsive. Releasing such fragrances should be illegal. 2/10

get the after shave...edt goes horrible after 2 minutes.

Seems like a generic old school cologne that doesn’t last. Even with its cheap price it’s best to pay a little more and get something better. I also tried another one from the line and it also has terrible performance.
