Caramel

I had read that this is similar to Prada Candy (and was created first). I don’t have Prada Candy but comparing that on a paper strip to this on my skin, Candy is a bit sharper. I didn’t know the notes for this but I kept feeling like it smelled like a cross between baby powder (in a good way) and sweet tobacco (maybe?) or wood, and yes a little caramel but not buttery, or milky the way I imagine caramel is. That said I love it! I’ve been wearing it as a cozy perfume in the evening at home. I might layer it or wear it solo this fall. Love. Here are the notes as listed on amazon. It’s lasts well on me too and it is not linear to me, meaning after an hour or so it’s different in a nice way. Head: talc, violet, flowering notes Heart: benzoin resinoid moss, iris, poudre white Fund: caramel, sugar, precious woods

I might add that is it not really sweet. One comment my dh has usually is that something is too sweet or teen, and not so with this.

A woody, airy, not too sweet natural caramel scent floating over a baby-shampoo like fresh cozy musk. I personally can't get enough of this fragrance but I can see how those who are used to more dense sugary gourmands might be disappointed. The baby shampoo musk and the soft caramel sweetness makes this one a regular in my bedtime scent rotation. It's a little rough when first sprayed but as soon as it starts to dry down it's so comforting. I have never owned Prada Candy so I can't compare the two, but if I do get my hands on a bottle of the Prada I'll come back to do a comparison. Edit: I now have the Prada and the two scents are almost identical, with the Derbe having a harsher solvent aspect at first spray which quickly dissipates, and the Prada adding a sheer papery iris that sets it a little higher up than the Derbe on the sophistication scale, but both things I mentioned are subtle nuances and the Derbe's undeniable influence on the creation of the Prada (which came after) is easy to perceive.
