Bois d'Oud

Detaille is a fantastic brand that deserves more publicity. I was immediately drawn to this wonderful composition. The remarkable thing about Bois d’Oud is the fact that oud comes twice in the olfactive pyramid, and I’m not even a big fan of oud. There’s a certain strength about it that’s way too much for me. And I can’t help thinking that many oud perfumes are too oriental and don’t suit me. With Bois d’oud it’s a different story. For me, it’s oud that meets french old school elegance. There’s something fresh and floral about it that makes it nearly unisex, but I would say it still leans masculine. The bottle and packaging is just as good or even better than what other better known and more expensive brands offer. It’s my second purchase from this brand and not the last since Aeroplane seems like a very good idea for summer 2026. Long lives Detaille !

This is an amazing, beginner friendly oud. The notes doesn’t describe the lovely, sparkly unisex quality in this. It’s absolutely gorgeous. I’d even say it leans freshie, but with depth? Wood is very present, but also citrus and something like a sweet, minty tea? Dry down is so soft. Lasted all through the night on my skin.

One of my favorites. A very gentle oud. I picture a well kept-up men's club tucked away in a cedar forest, replete with roaring fires, capacious aged old leather seats, and a neat little bar cart decorated with a bouquet of amaranthus and peruvian lilies...

Bottle-Worthy? 0/5 Smells like a Woody floral Musk - very similar to Salvatore Ferragamo pour Homme, creamy cedar/suede vibe.

This is interestingly. A unisex oud cologne with a toned down identity crisis. Saffron is present. But so is bergamot (a well known note/property in masculine colognes), cedar, tobacco and agarwood! This is just geared for the men!
