Low Carb Cat

This is so interesting and yummy. It starts out green and almost a little spicy, but still with quite a bit of sweetness, like a bright green tea with honey or maple syrup. The bright spicy notes remind me almost of a spiced cake or oatmeal cookies, like another reviewer said. Within an hour that initial brightness and spiciness tones down and it develops into a creamier, gentler scent that reminds me of a light, fluffy vanilla spongecake. There's definitely something a little cozy and animalic in the drydown, like the smell you get when sticking your face into your cat's warm clean fur. So sweet and unique. You can definitely pair this with a vanilla body spray to totally amp up the sweet gourmands in it, or you can leave it as-is for a beautiful rounded out fresh scent that is great for those who are apprehensive about gourmands or easily get headaches from strong, cloying vanillas. Now for the real question: does it attract cats? Not really, my cat didn't seem to be too interested. I'm sure the concentration of catnip in this isn't enough to get their attention, or maybe it has some other ingredients that turn them off (like the bergamot.) For those of you who stumbled upon this fragrance from the catnip note and desperately want to spray something onto themselves that will get your cat to love you, many pet stores offer catnip mists (usually water-based) that my cat loooooves. The intent with that kind of product is usually to spray it on scratching posts or toys you want your cat to use, but I'll admit I spray it on my bedding or even on myself to get my cat to cuddle up and get playful!

Imagine you are a Spring Festival in Japan. The evenings are still chilly enough for a sweater, the wind carrying Sakura Blossoms down to the canal with lanterns lighting their path. You smell sweet delicious treats baking at the vendors while a cat comes up to nuzzle your legs. This is what I feel when I smell this fragrance. I listed that this reminds me of "A Whiff of Waffle Cone" from Imaginary Authors because both of these do lead sweet. And when you get to the sweet part of Low Carb Cat it's a thick rich heady sweet that does remind me of AWOWC. But what makes this fragrance so extra special is the opening and skin scent left behind. Opening with this beautiful earthy and minty Catnip and Shiso that gives an instant boost of a spring garden then transitions in this syrupy sweet gourmand that wraps around you. Leaving behind this post baked kitchen scent that makes me keep sniffing my wrist. This scent lasted about 4 - 6 hours on me but truly was such a treasure to try. My cat did not care about it so the catnip in it isn't going to attract more cats. However as a cat lady getting to say IT HAS CATNIP IN IT when I have someone else smell me is joy enough.

the opening of this is so refreshing! It’s light, airy, green, and freshly aromatic. Love the shiso note in this. That greenness quickly develops into a sweetness, but it’s still light and fresh. The heart has a vanilla cake aroma with Sakura cookies while still managing to keep a lot of freshness. The dry down is less sweet, and has a warm and creamy base with an animalic undertone. It smells like if fuzzy cat baked cookies covered with shiso icing. This is a fun one and I love it.

The shiso note is maybe not the most accurate but still very enjoyable, and the fresh top notes transition well into the very sweet middle notes. Very complex and fun.

This is my new favorite fragrance hands down! It’s so unique and playful and I can’t stop smelling my arm!

Despite the catnip note, my cat did not go wild for this. That being said, I've really fallen in love with this fragrance! It's sweet and creamy, but the catnip shiso and bergamot add a layer of freshness. It's not like anything else in my collection and I find it's an easy daytime reach when I just want something light and fun that isn't overpowering.

vanilla cake with catnip sprinkled on top + ice cream shop air <33 theres this other note I fucks with, I assume it's sakura (never smelled) but its so magical. I imagine a fluffy white cat spun out on catnip ravaging a cake that took hours to make, frosting and spongy remains scattered on the lace tablecloth it once sat pretty on.

this smells like kittens, cherry blossoms, and cake. a little too heavy on the cherry blossom for moi, but still very cute and sweet. overall rating: 🩷🩷🩷💔🖤 3.5/5

Low Carb Cat is licking a vanilla ice cream waffle cone sprinkled with mint leaves so slowly that it eventually melts all over your hand. I was 100% lured in by the catnip, which is super fun and novel! I can't say the same for my cat, though. She seems indifferent. I happened to be wearing it while getting my blood drawn and the phlebotomist said it smelled lovely. The opening is cold and minty, and this remains throughout. There's a yellowy, warm, butter aspect as well that felt a little cloying on the first wear, but mellowed down afterwards. A complex gourmand.

Based on the reviews, I was expecting a green or minty perfume. However, I mostly get the sweet vanilla gourmand notes. I do also smell the animalic components, which give it a little bit of a rugged spin. Its a unique scent. I find it to be quite strong and long lasting. My cats had no reaction to it, but they prefer silvervine over catnip... that's a scent I'd also be interested in!

i don’t get any green notes unfortunately. This is all sweets and amber and vanilla on me. Which isn’t bad I just was interested in the initial scent profile!

Oh, this is so strange: I smell fresh catnip, a pile of picked shiso, bergamot peaking through and an ultra-powdery ensemble of cherry blossom, sugar and cake. It does have this cat fur-like quality to how it dries down but I cannot say that it is pleasant. It's like pressing powder in fresh aromatics: picture the Red Queen in the Mad Hatter touching up her makeup while having afternoon tea with you in a garden and stroking a cat on her lap. If you like sweet, clean, powdery scents, this may be for you. This just was not made for my tastes personally.

i would have loved to say this perfume is good- but its so difficult to like. I get no other notes but mint and fur, and it smells very, very funky, almost. I wouldn't recommend it. 1.5/10

Sharp greens meet synthetic sukura sweets. Interesting concept but not for me.

Sometimes you get bored and end up on the Catnip note side of Fragrantica, hence why I ordered a sample of this delightful little fragrance. The opening on this had me scared it was going to be a Vanilla Yankee Candle sugar bomb. Upon dry down, it transformed into the most bright and lively realistic cookie and cake scent with catnip and bergamot at the forefront to round it all out and make it a gourmand with an edge. I really enjoyed this, and I’m excited to explore other offerings from this perfumer.

Can confirm, cats gave my wrist a curious sniff but were not enamored - understandably as bergamot is a citrus oil and they will not like to smell that. I however quite like this one! You can definitely smell the top notes and then comes a mild creamy, milky cake scent with a subtle animalic undertone. It's not too sugary nor too milky. Moderate projection and longevity. I don't like over the top gourmands but this one is quite delicate and airy.

Serious question. My moms cats hate me and all I want to do in snuggle with them 🥴 will the catnip in this to the trick to get them to sit on my lap?

soft and sugary. I thought there would be more green-minty from the shiso.
