Neptune's Gift

low spf scented sunscreen with a touch of blood, sea salt and resin. fun flirty summer scent, not incredible or outstanding but as someone who has a tainted history with marine perfumes, i’m not mad about it. it feels very youthfull & preteen! summer of your first periods, wearing triangle bikini with no boobs but you dont feel horrible about yourself this time. the varnish does temporarily come through in a craaazy way. it creates the illusion of uplifting dizzying solvants, minus the actual displeasing hammering of your senses. it is interesting but a bit off the mark for me. varnish feels way more like a forest campground bungalow scent than a beach one. i probably spent too much time at deserted rocky beaches & not enough lodged between a thousand sand covered beach towels within olfactory distance of a boardwalk. this (minus the varnish) is what i imagined universal flowering’s holy hell would be like.

Car ride home with the windows down after playing all afternoon at the beach; milky sunscreen dripping down your arms, sand flaking off your legs onto the floor mat, salt water damp hair lying awkwardly on your back.. though half the time, it just smells like lukewarm bergamot tea mixed with seawater. For a person who hates marine perfumes, this is tolerable.
