TRÀ-YUJA

This is definitely more citric than floral or sweet – the actual description from the perfumer is more accurate than the summary notes listed here. The primary scent is a soft citrus from the yuzu that blends very subtly with tea notes to make the overall scent bright and warm. The hinoki wood is an especially clever choice given that it naturally has a bit of a lemony bitterness and piney coolness, so the transition between yuzu and wood is very natural and the scent settles into something that maintains the citrus notes but is also cool and fresh from the evergreen. I often feel that honey takes over scents and makes them sickly sweet/sour but that doesn’t happen here which is fantastic. I think this is going to be a go-to when I want my perfume to be a bit more energizing for the day!

A powdery yuzu fragrance, but let me take you to where this smell takes me : We're in the summer, it's morning and the sun hits the bathroom window, this is not your shower, you were invited here, you find a very fancy handmade soap and decide to use it, you hear the doves singing and the smell of yuzu graces your nose while washing and the window is open and some pollen comes in and you look out to see the yellow lights of the sun hit the flying pollen. I do drink Yuja-cha especially in winter but on my skin it's more of a powdery yuzu than a jammy slightly bitter yuzu but maybe the jammyness will come out on you ? Thanks for reading me ! :D

i adore this, beautiful & very well blended perfume. refreshing without being too tart, balanced. however, the citrus & pine combo stood out a bit too much for my nose and i can’t help but associate it with pine-sol. it doesn’t smell like cleaner at all, but my brain kept going there.

I know what this reminds me of: these red ginseng health drinks my uncle used to drink on the regular. Really Aesop-esque. It is a very deep dark black tea scent. If you like a very bitter tea with a citron edge, this is for you. Lasts through a shower too (unfortunately for me).

First sniff was a lot more bitter than I was expecting. Think yuzu peel and sunscreen with the sweetness removed. Honestly, a pleasant surprise compared to the sugar bombs of late. This would work perfectly for anything from a cool spring morning to a summer pool party.
