Kamikura

Love from the first sniff. Was little bit scared, cause it was a blind buy. I found Hikaru Daichi little bit too sharp for my taste, so was thinking it will be maybe simillar, due to the quite same profile. Its so airy, natural, sweet candied lemon bit sweet fruity, piney, woody, but also fresh spicy. Its very gentle, thin. Its type of scent which you can feel only when you are not focusing on it, its more like second skin scent, like spring breeze from hinoki forest. The Levander is quite prominent, but its so good incorporated in blend, that is somehow more supporting woody notes and giving them extra herbal touch. Sometimes the pine+yuzu got almost green hojari frankincense impression. A very gentle, polite fragrance with elegant manners in the Japanese spirit. So if you are looking for type of scent: people will smell you sooner than you will arrive and will smell you after you leave this will be not perfume for you. In case of many Di ser fragrances you need to left the western “designer” perception behind, also bold oriental approch behind, cause you will not fully appreciate it. And this is also aim of the brand, not leaving a trail behind you, it should be more as visiting the nature, which is not a eternal experience. This scent cant bother anyone at all, its more safe than regular mainstream perfumes and at the same time is artisinal and indie ( if you can call it like that ). It have more to the essential oil side aura, but the materials are really pure essences of high quality gentle disstilation process. I found some simillarities with Rin from Fueguia, which i found too much citrusy-hinoky and less deep woody, so this is ideal woody-citrusy perfume which i was looking for. I like to deepen the agarwood by burning some chips and then overlayed it with Kamikura, a perfect combo.

Kamikura opens with prominent notes of Ezo and Todo pine along with yuzu. I was fortunate enough to smell the two pine materials neat and they both offer distinct profiles, along with a limey aspect, whereas pine usually tends almost lemony to me. After that the patchouli, vetiver and oakmoss become apparent. I don’t get a ton of the lavender and rosemary, more of a general herbal feel. The patchouli is most noticeable – particularly in warmer weather – and at times the fragrance seems to oscillate primarily between it and the pines and citrus. The jinko just seems to add a woody backbone to the composition. Kamikura reminds me of the gentlemanly vibe of Hana Matsuri, but this feels fresher, less mature and has less of its strong lime opening. The pines are really addictive. This is also one of the more longer lasting and radiating Di Sers I've tried, with constant whiffs of it throughout the day. One of my favorites from the brand. *Review from a gifted bottle*

A fine piece of art. Opens up with lime and heavy dose of woods and patchouly. After 5 minutes you can notice the differences in the woods; cypress and pine taking the central role with a lavender surrounding and calming them. The oakmoss role here is to make the different woods appear wet. The oud used are used with moderation and perhaps targeting a more western audience, since it's used as a supporting non-animalic notes. Makes it a bit thicker with depth. Even after 5 hours I can still feel the wet woods and lavender giving me the impression of a wet bridge on a stormy day in fall. This is a limited edition to celebrate Gents perfume bar 20th anniversary in Sweden.

Compared to Nasomatto or ortoparisi who also sell 30ml bottles I would say this is overpriced based on the price to longevity where Nasomatto is better priced. That is what I have to compare with any way in price to longevity. I do get about 6hrs, maybe a little more. The scent is really fresh and energizing. I do detect both pine and Lime prominently and some yuzu and vetiver as well as Agarwood. But I can tell that it isn't oily, not the slightest. That also is typical for fragrances with poorer performance.

One of my favorite perfumes it's manly and mature, and fresh (smells like nature) without ever getting boring. Every time I smell It it smells better than last time. Its so sad that this is a limited run. The only thing that gets a little close is terre d'hermes, and kamikura Smashes it. 10/10 and I would say that it has a perfect concentration you can smell it well and it last about a work day, while not being too powerful and overwhelming.

Perfectly balanced between rugged and sweet notes, reminiscent of the northern forest. I haven’t tested it in summer or fall yet, but wearing it in spring is nothing short of wonderful. As others have mentioned, if you find Hikaru Daichi a bit sharp, this feels like a more rounded interpretation that's still vibrant with the natural quality ingredients Di Ser is known for.

Meditative natural citrus aromatic scent that summarizes many of the recent releases of this house. The scent opens with notes of pine, rosemary, patchouli and cypress. The heart is a citrusy aromatic combination of yuzu, lime and slight lavender. The perfume settles on a powdery earthy base of vetiver, oakmoss and slight oud. The slight masculine leaning scent has moderate sillage and good longevity. It does not break any new ground for this line of scents and is overall a reverent, pleasant and unobtrusive wear. Enjoy!

Bottled yuzu concentrate, mentol and camphor, a bit like a citric furniture polish, make for a challenging opening. Soon, I am reminded of Eastern European budget fougères. Within ten minutes or so, things improves, and a bouquet of coniferous scents starts gradually to reach the nose. They feel naturalistic but a bit too sharp and thin for a perfume, it feels rather like I am smelling of an ointment, maybe a bit like Tiger balm. The dry down makes for a turn towards masculine woodiness and improves the overall impression. While I enjoy quite a few rough and offbeat perfumes, this feels a bit banal and chemical.

a recognisable Di Ser profile with a meditative, calm, woody-herbal character, on a bitter citrus side. I get a lot of pine, too. develops into an elegant, natural, foresty kind of scent, slightly camphorous and smoky. compared to other di sers I own, its not exactly short lasting but rather sits too close to skin. this fragrance was created to celebrate the anniversary of a Swedish niche/barbershop products store called gents. now few words about Gents - as someone who spent over 1k in purchasing from them, the customer service is truly terrible. no free samples with purchases, and the ones I actually paid for arrived in broken bottles where the cups wouldn't fit the sample bottles and all the juice ended up leaking; they also claim free delivery on their website, but then charge you extra 30€ durnig checkout for a standard eu delivery (???not even priority?). I also paid extra in taxes which is weird since taxes in Europe are normally included in the price. oh, yeah, they've included a sample of mavris toothpaste as a thank you gift. like wow, seriously? but kamikura is great, definitively get it, but maybe elsewhere.

Effervescent lime and lemon peel with a Mizu-like sweetness, which reminds me of cardamom in a way. The citrus combined with a subtle spice, coniferous airiness and a balsamic tone almost gives the perfume a cola-lime type of aura at times. Patchouli, extremely life-like forest green hues and elegant vetiver. Like a "best-of" of Di Ser's fresher offerings.
