Belle De Jour

Let me preface this review by saying: Wow! Belle de Jour has been the biggest surprise for me from the Privée line. For some reason, I had very low expectations, but finally decided to give it a try after almost half a year that I had purchased and tried other fragrances from Maison Christian Dior. This one is a winner for me — on my skin, I get classic Dior vanilla, an idyllic scent with simplicity, but lots of personality. I’m not a big fan of peach and was surprised to read it in the notes. I couldn’t smell it on my skin. Instead, I got a sweet, refreshing and inoffensive, but alluring scent. As far as longevity, I got 4 hours the first time I applied it. The second time, I applied J’adore’s body oil first and then Belle de Jour and got a total of 6 hours. But, bear in mind that my skin soaks up perfume. No scent (except for Rouge Trafalgar) lasts more than 5 hours on my skin with the same intensity and integrity. Belle de Jour will likely become my signature scent. I can feel it happening and I just got a 450 ml bottle.

I tried this discontinued fragrance in store and didn't get to spray the bottle myself. I can only suspect that the sprays were light as it didn't last over an hour on me. But wow was it a beauty! This was the brightest, most sparkly pear fragrance I've ever smelt but with a honeyed girlie sweetness to it. The rose for me was completely background but I guess that might be because it faded away quickly. I would love to try this again properly... Despite its beauty, I can understand why Dior might have discontinued this, it did remind me of other sparkly pear fragrances in the opening (that are cheaper) but this was certainly the best I've smelt, but yes I never got to smell the drydown, because it had gone...

I get compliments when I wear it. I do overspray, about six, I can smell it all day, and it is a clean, powdery peachy and pear scent with a touch of rose. Sillage is not massive but radiates off about a foot, and when I hug people, they comment. Always, you smell great! I can smell it for at least 6 hours before it fades. I think it would wear less if I only skin sprayed, but I use it like a deodorant can and spray clothes too. It's spring and this is the perfect time for me, it becomes more transporting when the heat is on it. I just know it makes me happy. I wear it to work and in general a nice signature scent as it is very wearable.

I adore this Pear and Rose scent, it smells like a beautiful day should, very clean and pretty. It is a cloud of sweetness to begin and it fades down to reveal more of the rose and warm wood notes, it's those notes that make this fragrance a little more deep and mature than you may expect. I would love it to last a little longer I get about 4 hours with the first two fantastic and then skin scent afterwards. It does last longer on your clothes and so I would spray in my hair and clothes. A new one for me in Summer 2019. I bought the 40mil to travel with and I adore it. Not has any compliments yet but only I have just begun to wear it.

This is just how Dior describes this fragrance, a juicy pear note that smells like a dessert. Opening smells so good that i just wanna chew off my arm which i sprayed it on in the morning. The scent last on my skin a good 3-4 hours with decent projection before fading into a skin scent for the rest of the day. For the price i paid, i would have loved it if it were to project better. Presentation was good, engravings done for free and the classy bottle and pink juice was a sight to behold. I just got the 100ml bottle and I’m already planning to get the larger bottle cause i might go trigger happy on my current bottle 🤣

Peach, Pear, "Pear Ice Cream," a discreet rose-jasmine combo for some depth. Lovely, summery, carefree, powdery, musky, comfortable. It's very nostalgic (90's) smelling to me. Opens up like a whipped cream girly-girl sugary confection, but dries down a little dirty-sexy! I'd love a small bottle of this one. Alas, it came out in 2018 and it has been discontinued for at least 2 years now. A shame. I would love to see Francis Kurkdjian revive this one and put his spin on it. Similar to Jasmin des Anges, also from the Dior Priveé collection.

Really, really lovely. One of my favorites from the Dior Prive line. Sweet, juicy pear and peach blended with that signature Dior vanilla. It smells like a pear pie honestly. Belle de Jour fades into a beautiful powdery vanilla around hr 4. Projects super well on me for 3 hours and then lasts as a skin scent for about 6-7 hours. This is an amazing spring scent. It’s kind of simple but very comforting.

I love this so much. Its a beautiful peach, rose and citrus fragrance that can be worn from work to date night. The rose is alive, not dark, but the perfume has a complexity that makes me feel happy and yet sophisticated. Definitely not the same from that other peace-rose fragrance by Mona di Orio (Rose Hollande). Fit for spring, summer, or winter ! To me this is spring ! Love love love

Omg! Why would Dior discontinue such a beautiful fragrance! It’s so flirty and sexy. The peach/pear combo is tart and rounded not at all too sweet or sharp. The rose is jammy with some layers of plucked petal freshness. I just got my bottle (found on eBay from a seller in Japan- a 125ml bottle for under $250!!) I can’t wait to spend more time with this.

Smells delicious not in a edible way. Super feminine perfume can be worn everyday and was an Instant love. High quality smooth scent. Soft juicy fruity notes, slight crisp sweetness and soft cashmere like woods. Smells unique to me without being too "interesting" as some niche fragrances can be.

Dior Belle Du Jour (2018) - sparkling floral - #francoisdemachy ‘s perfume doesnt contain aldehydes but it resembles having one. A simple formulation of Pears, Rose and Powdery Iris. I also enjoy the creamy Vanilla-like base mixed with woody accord. Optimistic elegance.

Dior Belle de Jour was released in 2018 as part of Maison Christian Dior collection, a mix of pear, rose, and woods, officially, and it’s very clearly a fruity rose. The pear note is one I like when blended in but I’m not usually a huge fan of it when featured; still, it’s well done in Belle de Jour, giving a good balance of fruity and rosy, very pleasant, sharp but not too sharp. It gives me the vibe of a spring/summer/fall daytime fragrance. It’s an easy “like” but not really close to being a “love” in my case, elegantly done but simple, without a ton of depth. Still, I could see this being an easy unisex year-round winner for many. It’s slightly feminine but not prohibitively so. I could wear it comfortably in various situations. It’s good performer, as well, though not outstanding. Belle De Jour is priced the same as the rest of the collection, at $450/320/220 for 450/250/125ml, which has remained consistent for the past two years or so, I believe. 7 out of 10

I walked into the Dior Boutique adamant on trying AND purchasing the Fève Délicieuse after reading all the great reviews on that one. I walked out with Belle De Jour instead! It is an underrated overlooked sweet fruity and happy scent. I reach for this when I am feeling happy and positive and it boosts my mood greatly. On me, it smells sweet, fresh and a tad bit powdery, it projects like a beast and lasts long. It can be pulled off all year round although I layer it with a vanilla scent (Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensée) during winter to ground it and warm it up a bit. Fève Délicious reminded me of the smell of Lush stores in malls, which is not a bad scent, not at all. It is just not what I want to smell like.

I agree the rose is very forward and its more of pear than a peach, however it is a fuzzy pear. There is a lot of something vanilla in this too. So fuzzy velvet pear in a rose garden vibe. I do think this is more feminine than unisex tbh. Honestly it smells like the juice color. Pale peachy pink. To me it conjurors the memories from when I was a child traveling in the UK. We stayed at places that had small gardens and visited castles with gardens. It reminds me of being 13 and running through English gardens pretending I was in some story as a little princess.The sun shining and the roses blooming. Could be worn business professional though to me its more of a casual scent.

This is an inoffensive sweet pear/peach floral scent. My nose doesn't pick up the rose, per se, more just a flower. To be honest, it reminds me of Simone by Tocca. I haven't worn it more than a couple times and sometimes a fume will shock me with how much it changes by just introducing oxygen into it and a few days to rest, but honestly this one isn't really that challenging. I don't think this is worth the $250 price tag. I have the small 1/4 ounce bottle and you can get Tocca's Simone small .68oz for $46. I can't tell the difference with one on each wrist. Both are good quality, longevity about 3-4 hours and very intimate throw. Office friendly.

Your average 'designer-esque' fruity floral. Smells good, but should not be offered in Dior's privee line imo. It's incredibly generic (hate using that word) but it's pleasant. More of a pear sorbet than ice cream. I would be open to a small bottle if it was available here in the U.S. Not interested in the 8oz, nor the price tag for it. Dior is phasing out the remaining stock of this scent and unfortunately the 8oz is all that's available. If you do enjoy be sure to secure a bottle. For me, it's simply too much juice. I would get sick of it not even a forth of the way through the bottle.

I don't understand why the notes feature peach. This is definitely a sparkling pear. The combo of rose and pear can sometimes give a peach effect but I don't get any peach from this. Even Dior's official notes don't list peach, only pear. Also, I think this fragrance is wonderful. It's sweet, sparkly and juicy. Though there is a nectar like sweetness that comes off a bit screechy with the rose if I wear it in high heat. It's not the most unique or sophisticated scent but it's very charming and fun.

A fruity fresh rose with a touch of powder. Smells of quality ingredients and reminds me of the rose used in Roja essences, Elixir and particularly Enigma. It has a feel of them but has more of a woody dry down and lasts much longer. As I have a full bottle of Roja Enigma Essence I don’t need this. But given the choice I’d have bought this. Edit: has a sweet, woody (almost creamy) drydown with no noticeable rose remaining. Lovely, as I can only take so much rose and it usually lingers.

It really has that vintage French smell! I picture this on a 60+ year old office manager who doesn't take shit from anyone, yet still gets respect from her staff. It's really powdery, rosy and woody. It's a very mature feminine scent. Has an "old money" vibe. Like a rich auntie. Every single person at work said it smells like old lady. So if you're not into that type of scent maybe skip this one. My husband also said it smells like a grandma lol

I originally thought this smelled like J'Adore, especially with the pear, but after direct comparison, I have to say this is much more elegant—the fruit is less piercing, with a powdery-creamy background and perfectly placed rose! Update: I think it actually resembles the new Miss Dior EdP more :o
