Dior Addict Eau de Parfum (2014)

Today I'm wearing the "wrong" perfume, insofar as it doesn't match my outfit--faded yoga pants and a Grim Reaper long-sleeve t-shirt featuring the logo of a left-wing podcast--and I don't care: I wanted to live inside this scent bubble for a while, and no one but my dog and my husband is likely to notice that my visual and olfactory presentations clash. Specifically, I'm wearing the 2014 reformulation of Dior Addict, obviously still Wasser's creation but inexplicably mystified/simplified by current Dior nose Demachy--and my humble t-shirt will almost certainly reek of Addict for days, perhaps even after I launder it. This juice is TENACIOUS. I think people (including myself) tend to get noseblind to it if they wear it a lot, so I will probably reserve it for occasions when I want to smell like this: as if jasmine and night-blooming cereus copulated strenuously in an industrial jungle bakery with Bourbon vanilla, and then the delicious boozy baby that was born to this unlikely throuple grew up to become an enormous buttercream-frosted, blossom-bedecked godling. Dior Addict is a little green in the beginning, and because this is the newer (2014) reformulation, I can't be sure there is any night-blooming cereus in it--no way is this fragrance as simple as the streamlined note pyramid suggests--but my vial dealer sold me some of her vintage 2002 Addict (which I trust her to have preserved as perfectly as anyone could preserve it after more than 20 years), and when it arrives I plan to do a smell-test comparison with my tester strips. Right now I think I smell the night-blooming cereus--and I actually have one that blooms prolifically every summer and into the early autumn, so I know the scent very well--but it's possible that I'm smelling another combination of accords and interpreting this as the Queen of the Night. Will I smell it more or less distinctly in the vintage version? Would I pass a blind sniff test? Well, I'll come back and update this post after my precious partial bottle of 2002 Dior Addict arrives and I can conduct my useless experiments. (I do not have and do not plan to obtain the 2012 version.) Update: Well, the 2002 version is superior, to my nose, primarily because of the sandalwood base and the headier aromatic notes, and, perhaps most of all, the night-blooming cereus. It's deeper (literally a dark amber fluid), and it would stain your clothing if you sprayed it on something that wasn't, say, black or dark brown. The base is woodier and more complex, and it reads as much more masculine than this 2014 formulation. That said, the 2014 is an easier wear. The 2002 version is sexier to me, but let's face it--sometimes you just want to smell nice and comforting, like white flowers blooming in a clean bakery. That's what the 2014 version smells like. I do appreciate its longevity, and the perfumes are remarkably the same on the drydown, which is, after all, the longest part of perfume life. This current version is great, and when I use up what remains of my well-preserved 2002 bottle, I can feel reassured by the knowledge that I have this one, and it's still quite easy to find should I ever run out, which is highly unlikely. I like this a lot, but I don't feel like wearing it more than a time or two every two or three months.

Dior Addict Eau de Parfum 2014 edition is a bold and sexy vanilla & white floral fragrance. Addict is the perfect name for this Perfume. This Perfume starts with some green vibes but it fades very quickly and turns into a heavy White floral with non gourmand-ish Vanilla Fragrance. The orange blossom is pretty noticeable too. The Vanilla in this Perfume is not sweet or Gourmand but it's more bold and kind of spicy. Which makes it stand out from the other popular Vanilla fragrances. I get the smell of spider lily flower (Hymenocallis liriosme) from this Fragrance even though it's not in the official notes but I really can't ignore the resemblance. ◼️ This Perfume is really sexy. And it's kind of matured and elegant. It's not your everyday girly girl kind of Scent.It's only for special occasions. This Perfume will boost your confidence and make you feel like you can rule the world. It's seductive, it's Addictive, it's captivative and it's gorgeous. And it's more suitable for a confident woman. ◼️ It's a winter only Perfume in my opinion. And it's more suitable for night-time. Perfect for date nights and weddings. Not suitable for office or formal meetings because people around you may feel offended as this Fragrance is really in your face kind of potent. ◼️ This can easily be someone's wedding Scent. If you're a floral Perfume lover and your getting married in winter I highly recommend testing this Fragrance. But I won't recommend blind buying this Fragrance as it may be too potent for some people. It's not for the faint of heart. You really need to try this Perfume at least once if you're a floral fragrance lover and you don't like too much sweet fragrances. ◼️ Vanilla being a natural aphrodisiac makes this Perfume a compliment getter. But don't over spray this Perfume because it's really heavy and strong. 1-3 sprays are more than enough to draw attention 😉 ◼️ Longevity- 7+ hours on skin and 10+ hours on clothes. ◼️ Projection & Sillage- This Perfume creates an aura around the wearer and you'll get noticed by everyone around you for first 3-4 hours then gradually it will become a close to skin scent. Mmmm dior addict such a unique fragrance ! However it's so sad that this perfume is getting so much hate from the people that loved The 2002 version and i think it's so unfair to give so much hate and dislikes to a fragrance just because it doesn't smell like the original one. I've never tried the 2002 version but i saw that 99% or the bad reviews are coming from people who loved the previous one.Please stop doing that i get that you're upset but i think this fragrance should be reviewed for itself and not for it differences with the 2002 one. So all i can say is get over it that version is gone and it's not coming back so stop giving this beauty bad ratings because of that . Now let's talk about this bad boy : 2014 dior addict is a beautiful white floral vanilla and one of a kind . It's a warm fragrance with the smoothest vanilla ever. When you first spray it you get white florals and the jasmin being the one that shines the most. But then it lingers on your skin and you get a warm vanilla kind of like the vanilla in shalimar from guerlain (they are not similar it's just the vanilla) i saw someone comparing it to pranda candy or pink sugar and they couldn't be more wrong. Although addict has vanilla it is not a gourmand at all. It has its sweetness but not in a gourmand way but in a warm grown up way. This scent lasts a really long time as it sticks to your skin and that's when the vanilla shines the most. It's a classy perfume with sexiness and sensuality. Even though it has white florwers it is not a fresh scent at all. It's that kind of warm scents that you wear in the winter or for a date to seduce someone.It is not a croud pleaser and smells different on some people, FOR me it was love at first sniff and i do not get that insect repeler vibes at all, if any insect repeler smelt like this i would gladly shower myself with it,but it's just not so i think it has to do with chemistry that's why it is not a safe blind buy. Try it keeping in mind that it's not a gourmand but it's a sensual scent that is not for everyone but if it does work with you, than you're lucky cause it truly is an amazing scent

Guys, I've finally found it! After endless searching and browsing, I've finally found my signature scent! I wish I could find enough adjectives to do this sensual fragrance justice. Firstly, I'm unfortunately unfamiliar with how the original 2002 version smells, so I cannot compare the two side by side. Eventually, I'm going to track down the original formulation, but for now, this one is perfect in it's own way. I'll admit, reformulations tend to get a bad rap, and for the most part, that's completely understandable. A fragrance is meant to be a unique form of self expression, and I agree that when companies decide to take out notes, put in notes, replace notes, it all gets way too confusing to keep up with! When I first smelled Addict, I knew this one was going to be very unique to anything I've ever smelled before. The bourbon vanilla note is strong and unapologetic! Bourbon vanilla, Orange blossom & Jasmine are the only listed notes, but it's so much more complex on the inside, I feel like there's more to it than that... To me, Addict exudes such confidence and power, it's undeniably one of the sexiest fragrances I've EVER smelled. It makes me feel in charge, important, and ready to take the world to achieve my dreams. What more can you ask for in a fragrance? Scent: 10/10! Longevity: 8+ hours and still detectable on my skin! Sillage: Strong, this is a force to be reckoned with! Packaging: The latest edition is as gorgeous as the rest, the bottle is actually pretty heavy and substantial. (Unlike the previous formulations, the lid just pops off instead of a twist & spray nozzle.) Dior Addict literally inspires me to be become a courageous and more independent person, seriously give it a fair try before dismissing it. It could be your next addiction! Hands down the best thing I've EVER smelled.

Having had at least 3 bottles of the original, I decided to save my last one ( in which the liquid left has turned brown ) and buy myself a new one. You see, I am heavy handed with perfumes and I actually use up bottles, despite being blessed with a rather giant collection. The new Addict was a pleasant surprise. I tested it in the store, walked around for about one hour and waited for it to disappear, to become weak and boring , and to make me go home without shedding $165 plus tax ( this is the price in Canada for 100 ml ). That didn’t happen. It stayed strong, sexy, beautiful and confident. Moreover, the reformulation resembled quite closely the original one. The only difference was that this has a tiny fresh note whereas the original is woodier and creamier . The drydown is also less complex. It must be the tonka that is missing in the new one. The cinnamon ( not listed in the notes of the new but definitely present ) mingles beautifully with a powerful vanilla. There are some flowers thrown in , presumely jasmine, but they aren’t dominant. This is a spicy vaniilla, scent l The silage and lasting power are also quite superb , especially considering this was created in the new era of asthmatic people and rain water diluted perfumery . It has the oldie but goodie charm , and it can definitely represent Dior. This Dior Addict is simply wonderful and although I still have some of the old one, and they are slightly different , I cannot justify the bad reviews this one gets, nor the stigma associated with OMG, another reformulation ! It’s just lovely .

I wore my OG formulation yesterday and decided to wear the new one today. Although I don't think the Demachy reboot is quite as complex and singular as the original Wasser version, it's still a lot closer to its inspiration than comparison of the two note pyramids would suggest. For instance, even though I know there's no real Mysore sandalwood in the 2014 version, there's more than just plain old bourbon vanilla, that's for sure, and there is definitely more in the midnotes than jasmine sambac. Do I think the 2002 version is better? Yes, but it's more a difference of degree than of kind. I would say that the modern formulation is more conventionally feminine. It's not as aromatic, and it's closer to a conventional gourmand. It's still a great perfume, though, and I doubt that anyone can tell it it isn't from my early-aughts bottle once it has dried down on the skin for an hour or two. If you have never smelled the original version and you love the reformulation, it might be worth hunting down a vintage bottle if you can be sure of the provenance. The one I have has matured so much that it's as dark as syrup. When it's gone I'll be sad, knowing that it will never be replicated exactly (unless they find a reasonable source for Mysore sandalwood, I guess, in sufficient quantities). But I'm still glad that I got to experience the real version, and I'm also glad that Dior is still producing Addict, even though it's not quite the same as it used to be.

I used to wear the old formula back then when I was an undergrad student in college, thanks god i kept my old bottle with a little juice in it. Addict was a head turner, a definitive signature scent. Not everyones cup of tea but desired to have around by everyone. I also recently bought a new version and yes it just smells like a copy of the old version. I do still suspect if my bottle is a knock off, I could have been sure it is if I didnt buy it from a freeshop at airport. Sadly the sillage is not as legendary as it once was, actually i was commented that it does not smell on me at all which leads me emptying up almost half bottle in 2 weeks. But no, it does not do its magic anymore. It used to make every item i own smell like “me” with old formula, my clothing, my closet, my laptop my pens... New version has just a resemblance of old formula but it has no staying power or sillage. It still smells gorgeuosly sexy, well blended and unique though, but just very close to skin and silently. Its like watching a superstar actress getting older and losing her captivating beauty throughout years. For the sake of cinnamon and vanilla... beautiful jasmine tea latte... Sad... Just too sad.

A bold, creamy floral that lives up to its name... it is utterly addictive. This is a warm, spicy, and enveloping tapestry of jasmine sambac, orange blossom, and bourbon vanilla to me. Immensely dense and sultry, with a sillage and longevity that command attention. A little goes a very long way. I’ve cherished my bottle for years, reaching for it during special occasions that call for a touch of glamour and lushness without the rigidity of formality. Something to wear with a backless dress and stilettos in order to break hearts and cause whiplash. It’s a fragrance that exudes seductive confidence, evoking the essence of early 2000 allure. The green vanilla and jasmine are absolutely the stars here, with that faint hint of dior incense in the background. While it can be overwhelming if over-applied, when worn with restraint, Addict is a timeless scent for the empowered woman. It’s not for the faint of heart or the very young. It’s a statement of maturity and sensuality.

Oh I really love this! I'd say that it's a vanillic white floral with a hint of green and citrus in it. I can smell the orange blossom and the jasmine the most, followed by the vanilla and then the mandarin leaf. It's such a simple fragrance, but it works really well for me. Dior Addict has a real yummy vanilla ice cream sweetness to me and it smells like a white floral vanilla ice cream. It's very youthful and feminine too. This is a floral gourmand I could actually get behind! It's not saccharine sweet in the slightest. I feel like women of all ages would love this perfume. I could imagine it being something one could wear during the day or at night and in both fall and winter. It's not too strong to me and I think you could wear it to work too with a light hand. It had moderate sillage on me and this perfume lasted for a whole 8 hours on me! That's why I'd reward this perfume an 8.5/10 for me. Dior Addict is for sure full bottle worthy!

Lo probé por primera vez en tienda, hace un par de años, y todavía no me lo he sacado de la cabeza. Si no fuera por el precio (que es de lujo. Un capricho tirando a caro), lo hubiera comprado hace tiempo. Cuando paso por una perfumería miro siempre si tienen tester, para poder llevarlo puesto; y me dura bastante en piel. Es verdad que no es para todo el mundo, y que a muchos les parecerá un perfume de señora mayor. Pero creo que para quien lo sepa llevar es tremendo afrodisíaco en botella. Aunque no aparezca en las notas, tiene un punto a incienso y especias que le da una vibra oscura. Aún así, no pierde elegancia. Tiene rollo de femme fatale. Oscuro y un poco místico. Es una fragancia con mucha presencia y que no pasa desapercibida, pero sin ser chirriante. Claramente es más adecuado para climas fríos. No me lo pondría un día en el que vaya a sudar. Más bien para otoño-invierno, o quizás noches de verano.

This is the ultimate perfume. For me for a long time it was Shalimar (they are similar scents), but Addict doesn't have this sharp edge to it, like Shalimar, that puts a lot of people off, especially guys. Addict is sexy and comforting at the same time, guys love it and so do little children. Safe blind buy. It doesn't just fill the room, it fills the house and it's a good thing. The longevity is off the charts, if it gets on clothes it stays on them forever, no matter how many times you wash them. I got it on my scarf, left the scarf in the hall and our hall smelled like Addict for 3 whole days. I was thinking why isn't it ever top of the bestsellers list in online stores and then it hit me: this perfume is so perfect, people don't buy it because in their subconscious they think they don't deserve it. Well I think everyone deserves it, I wouldn't mind if whole planet smelled like Dior Addict.

I have the reformulation side by side with the previous formula. There is a difference. 1. The vanilla is heavier and darker in the previous formula 2. The mandarin leaf green accord is missing 3. The new formula is much more Jasmine-dominant and resembles Alien by Mugler 4. My husband "the previous formula was much prettier. The new one smells like a cheap synthetic version !!!! “ 5. The reformulation is not as refined and smooth 6. The bottle is so cheap looking compared to the previous versions. 7. The Dior website has reduced the intensity from 4 to 2 I'm disappointed in Dior for these sporadic discontinuations or reformulations. We get it, you want to increase your profit margins but your customers can very easily go to Chanel, Hermes, Guerlain, Houbigant for reliable offerings. Dior customer service is absolutely atrocious to.

Dior Addict from 2014 is, in its own way, a magnificent, voluptuous floral with an unparalleled sensual power of bourbon vanilla. The first version from 2002 is less floral, or at least the vanilla arrives much earlier. Focusing on the 2014 formulation, I can say that as an evening perfume it works wonderfully. There's something poisonous and malevolent about it that makes it very special. Some people see it as a "mature" perfume, and certainly! That sense of danger when wearing it denotes a lot of assertiveness and confidence. I think it's exceptional for experimenting with perfumes of an esoteric and mysterious nature. Sometimes these perfumes are incredible at any age for taking a break from fragrances that are too soft or too tame... It's the offspring of the 2002 beast; it still has plenty of venom in its fangs... 😊

I sprayed this after work last night to wind down and remembered how much I love it. It's rich, deep, lasting, bittersweet, soft and cozy. Definitely best for cold weather. While I only have the 2014 reformulation, from what I can recall of the original formulation, this is a close enough facsimile. (I do think the original might've been a bit more jasmine forward?) This is not the type of vanilla scent being churned out per current trends. This is dark, boozy and bitter, and the mandarin leaf and orange blossom in the opening feels like a brisk wind. It feels niche. While this isn't a sugary-sweet contemporary vanilla fragrance, I wouldn't exactly say it feels vintage. But then again, I am struggling to come to terms with the fact that the younger gens consider anything of the Y2K era as vintage, including myself!

This is the most beautiful, refined and spicy floral vanilla I've ever smelled! Spicy perfumes typically lean too sharp, masculine or seasonal to my nose, but Addict is ridiculously smooth and on a whole different level. The immediate floral opening is a little aggressive, but it dissipates quickly, and what you're left with is heavenly. It's a deep, sophisticated vanilla that exudes confidence, and the green/spicy notes give it a bit of an undone edge that I adore. While Addict is perfect for nights out, I love it just as much (if not more TBH) as a calming bedtime scent or as a pick-me-up perfume on days where I need a bit more oomph. It possesses a "woman who has all of her shit together" vibe, much like Mon Guerlain Intense even though the two fragrances are obviously very different from one another. :)

dior addict is one of those scents that immediately pulled me in. it’s definitely a white floral, but there’s so much more happening underneath. there’s a woody, slightly dusty, almost smoky layer that grounds the florals, and that’s exactly what i love about it. i also get a lot of violet, but not sharp or overly powdery, more like a soft, white-violet presence. the whole scent feels rich, cozy, and comforting without being heavy. wearing it feels like sitting next to a fireplace with a fresh bouquet of flowers, warm and intimate, but still alive and elegant. even though dior is such a popular designer brand, this fragrance doesn’t feel overexposed or mainstream. it ended up being one of my favorites, and it sits in the same emotional space for me as glam by vakko. close, comforting, and deeply wearable.

OMG YES! Despite reformulation it is still very 00s-early 10s perfume! Back when this perfume was at its popularity peak, I was still a child for this scent, but oh how I adored this smell on some young lady or woman and wished I’d be like them when I grow up. It is very “Bimbo” vibe plus dark bombshell for me. And right now I am extremely happy that it’s appropriate for my age; I CAN HAVE A VIBE of who I always dreamed of when I was younger. This perfume makes me feel proud, makes me “re-live” those 00s right now. It’s a strong, seductive, addicting scent. I can pick up some blackberry leaf or blackberry in it, very juicy but with darkness. Just gorgeous. Fragrance is perfect for approaching winter, this will make you stand out in crowd full of Blanche Bete and similar fragrance families.

Speaking of Dior Addict Eau de Parfum—though not the current version sold in the new bottle (I’m not sure if the formula has changed for that one)—I have to say it’s been surprising me lately. This is a batch (3K01) from late 2023. I previously owned a 2018 batch—very potent and robust; I loved it. At first, this 2023 version seemed to have very little vanilla and too much of a green-floral vibe... But actually, lately I’ve really been enjoying a crisp, green-leaning vanilla note that has emerged. It’s a beautiful, botanical vanilla surrounded by juicy spring florals. Its longevity and sillage have been perfect in the summer heat. If you enjoy a vanilla wrapped in green stems ,not gourmand, look for these batches (2023). For now, I’m eager to try the version with the new packaging.

Wooft, hello. This is a vanilla but not in the form of a cosy little sweet cookie. This is brazen, cold confidence. Old generational money, manicured fingers, high heels and smashing the patriarchy (bye, boys). In all seriousness, this is a seductive jasmine and vanilla combination which will blow your socks clean off if you don’t treat it with respect. No enclosed spaces for this one (learned this myself) and be considerate of those around you. Lasts a good 9 hours on me (unheard of...never happens) although it ends as a jasmine skin scent, and in between it is bolshy vanilla. My high school English teacher wore this so I think of her when I spray it - apt, since it evokes a woman strutting around and commanding attention. A beast of a perfume - maybe my strongest. I love it.

Rating: 🥰😳😮 Do I like it: Yep Who it is: my SO during s*x on Christmas Smells I get: lemon, vanilla, jasmine, indoles Meyer's Briggs type: ESTJ, INTJ A gourmand animalic perfume. When I spritzed it at first, my face responded with an instant smile. After all, I smelled like a delightful lemon pie. Happy, I innocently pranzed to the nearby bus stop. Nothing could prepare me for what came next. I thought I over-applied. I thought I may be nauseous. I felt a slight twinge near my bellybutton. To my horror - it wasn't nausea. This bloody thing has made my muscles relax and my head fuzzy like I'm in the midst of, well, an act. Indoles probably did me in, but the gourmand aspect makes it a very pleasant perfume. It smells like candied s*x. 🌺 Anyway... time to call him. 🤙

I bought this after trying it in store. Well, not tried, I put a tester strip with this in my jacket’s pocket and hanged that jacked in the hallway. For a week, I could smell this anytime I passed through the hallway. The whole week, from a simple tester strip in a jacket’s pocket. It’s a beast mode fragrance. Now that it’s my signature scent and I’ve gone nose blind to it I sometimes commit the sin of overspraying it, and pay with day long headaches. DON’T. 3 sprays is enough with Dior Addict. It’s a sexy everyday fragrance. Well maybe most people wouldn’t consider this everyday but I like loud and out there scents. It’s an easy reach for me in my collection. It reminds me of a hot mom, probably because this perfume was very popular when I was a kid.

I prefer it over Bianco latte, Black Opium, and other popular modern vanillas. This is one of the best sweet vanilla fragrances out there. It's beautiful and well-rounded, with a bit of greenness on top to make it interesting and not too cloying and gourmand. Don't get me wrong - this is a sweet vanilla. A delicious and heavy vanilla made for the more mature wearer (not in an age sense, but in style and personality). It's a deep and classy take on vanilla. This would be the fragrance If I were to associate vanilla with pearls and black dresses. My thoughts go towards Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. You will not go around smelling like you've just robbed a bakery for all their sugary pastries, but you'll smell delicious and put together. :-)

Upon first impression, it offers a scent that is intensely green and tangy. Shortly thereafter, a fragrance of cinnamon follows. I realize that cinnamon is not listed among the notes, yet I distinctly perceive this prominent cinnamon scent. Once it settles on the skin, the fragrance evolves into the most beautiful, gentle green vanilla aroma with a hint of sweet citrus. To me, this perfume epitomizes sophistication. It appeals, in my opinion, to the mature woman. I find myself enchanted by the scent and continually delighted by it throughout the day. It is luscious and creamy, simply a unique and very well-balanced fragrance. On my skin, the scent lasts over 6 hours, after which I can still detect it if I bring my nose close to the skin.

This is a nice, warm, heavy, spicy and mature, but not vintage perfume. It has memories attached if you're in your 50's or above. Lovely in the wintertime with that warm and spicy note. It's quite long lasting 6-7 hours with a good sillage at first more than 6 feet but settling into around arm's length. It might be the bourbon vanilla with the jasmine sambac but something makes it smell like cinnamon, warm out of the oven. It's substantial, like red wine with steak or a heavily decorated Christmas tree... all wintery events, making this perfume perfect for winter! (Reading by the fire, decorating, watching a movie). It's very sentimental and traditional and will create memories through the years.

This should be called Limerence - that first stage of love where you are totally obsessed with each other. It’s warm, sultry and sensual, a bit fruity and it really comes on strong. Definitely not one for the faint hearted. The opening is all sharp, green, citrusy vanilla but the dry down is rich and warm with the heady sweetness of night blooming jasmine and the smoky, spicy, boozy depth of the bourbon vanilla and on me a hint of anise. It makes me think of the dark hours, intoxicating moonflowers, obsession and the hint of danger. This is absolutely not my usual type of clean, green fragrance but I do have a travel size of Addict just in case it’s going to be one of those nights ...

Türkçe aşağıda🌸: It smells exactly like sahlep. With lots of cinnamon. That's why many people say it smells like Christmas. I have heard Americans visiting Turkey say the same thing when they drink sahlep. Actually, there are some people who call it rice pudding, but to me it is just like sahlep and it has a very relaxing and addictive smell. 🌸 Tam bir sahlep gibi kokusu. Hem de bol tarçınlı. O yüzden pek çok kişi Christmas gibi koktuğunu söylüyor. Türkiye’ye gelen Amerikalıların sahlep içtiklerinde aynı şeyi söylediklerini duymuştum. Aslında sütlaç diyenler de var ama bana göre mis gibi sahlep ve gerçekten çok rahatlatıcı ve bağımlılık yapan bir kokusu var.

I have been on the quest for the perfect vanilla dry down for years. The one that is warm and cozy, but at the same time is deep and sexy and you just cannot stop taking sniffs of. I have tried so many perfumes, but for all of them I was thinking "nice or beautiful BUT...". Addict is the one for me. First 30 minutes are pretty strong. After that though, there is no "but". It starts to develop and it just gets better and better with time. The vanilla dry down is just epic and it does not require for hours to appear. Even 12 hours later you can still smell this awesome luscious vanilla. I adore this perfume. It is literally devine.

Signature scent worthy 🙌🏻 Stunning fizzy Petitgrain and neroli with an almost overripe velvety jasmine and bourbon vanilla. Addict has character, and a gorgeous shapely backbone in a low back dress. My bottle is 5 years old so the vanilla is well rounded. I’m fascinated by the indolic jasmine, it’s up front and rich paired intimately with the bourbon vanilla, I can’t stop sniffing myself. Creamy spicy animalic addictive. This is some crazy beautiful olfactory shiz, I hope my husband likes this one, as l’m about to become addicted. It’s been a while since I’ve discovered a truly head lollingly sexy perfume 💙

I've had Dior Addict for years now and I remember wearing it even on casual days because I loved it so much. Now it's more of a special occasion/going out fragrance and even then makes me feel like an imposter sometimes, like I don't match its confidence. Classiest vanilla, beautiful and alluring. Lasts hours on skin, days on clothes. Fitting name, addictive for those wearing it as well as for the ones smelling it on someone. I avoid the "compliment getter" term like a plague (that's not the point of wearing perfume to me) but I guess if you are looking for that, this is the one.

First impression: ‘Hmm, nice... but not me.’ Spicy and sharp opening, not my vibe at first. 🌶️ 30 mins later → it evolved into something soft and absolutely stunning. I kept catching whiffs and thinking, OMG this is gorgeous! 3–4 hours in → still going strong. Creamy, smooth, addictive. Makes me feel confident, powerful, like a woman who knows what she wants—and knows she’s going to get it. 📚✨ At first, I swore it could never be my signature. But by evening... I changed my mind. Maybe not the one, but definitely a strong candidate. Beautiful, captivating, almost took me over. 💕”

Ultimate femme fatale perfume! With that said, I wouldn't call it hyper feminine or voluptuous. I get very little vanilla and it's all about jasmine, an edgy one at that. I showed it to several of my friends that are not really into perfumes and they all mentioned it has a little masculine undertone that gradually softens but keeps reminding of itself. I think I understand what they're talking about, I wonder if this pyramid is really all there is? Anyway it's really interesting and head turning, I am no fan of Dior perfumes but this is special.

My dear old friend, how I love this scent! For 10 years, before I was really into perfume, the original Addict was the only perfume I owned and I'm embarrassed to say it took me that long to finish the bottle! Now I have so many scents, but had to have a bottle of this in my collection. It's not the exact same as the ancient juice, but it's close enough -- and honestly, the old stuff lasted 12 hours or more from just one spray and was insanely strong. It was a different time (people smoked, etc) and I'm very happy with this formulation.

This reformulation still smells amazing. I directly compared it to my 2002 version of Addict. They're incredibly similar in scent and performance. The 2002 version may be slightly more floral. Regardless, I adore this fragrance! It's so intoxicating. This is one, I will always have in my collection. She's classy and a seductress. I smell a deep vanilla that's perfectly complimented by white florals. I'm addicted to this scent. Worth every penny. Longevity: 9/10 Projection: 9/10 Overall Experience: 10/10 Perfect. I would change nothing.

I LOVE THIS! I just bought a backup bottle. This is so comforting yummy and vanilla delicious. Yes a perfect perfume for the holidays. It’s sweet and classy. I like to spray this on before bed. It’s the perfect sweater weather scent and long lasting good projection. I got mine on Fragrancenet. Best prices. I also bought the oil perfume on oil perfumery website for $15 and it’s spot on! So I layer with that. It’sYum in a bottle! LOVE!!!! Can’t get enough I hope they never stop making this. If they do I will but a stock pile.

Gifted to me by my dear sister ❤️ she checked my want list on Frangrantica! I smell cloves, creamy citrus and sugary sweetness. On smelling this I'm immediately transported back to the early 2000s. Reminds me of By by D&G, a scent from the 90s I had, but this one is way sweeter and more subtle. This perfume starts very faint but really opens up on your skin after a few minutes and then projects a bit farther than arms length. It's a typical scent of the late 90s and early 2000s to me, smells great, safe buy for anybody.

I used to have 2002 version of Dior Addict. I really loved the scent then. I recently bought the 2014 version and as soon as I spreyed it at myself, it reminded me the Addict edp that I knew. I really feel happy about that I can still enjoy the newer version. It is still beautiful. However, it seems its smell fades away quicker than the OG version. Therefore, unfortunetly performance of the newer fragrance is lower than the OG.

Dior Addict EDP smells like an apricot dessert served with a generous dollop of Chantilly cream. It's light, airy but grounded by a soft vanilla base. I am obsessed and it's next on my list! I also noticed that they are repackaging this with a new bottle to go with the new Addict launches. Keeping my fingers crossed that they retain the current formulation because the new bottle looks really cute!

Simply put...Dior Addict is for the GROWN and SEXY fragrance connoisseurs. I purchased my bottle over seas and on my skin Addict, opens with nutmeg, subtle spice, rich vanilla and a beautiful jasmine. I don't get skanky at all! However, I do get a spicy, very elevated vanilla-forward perfume that is highly sensual and a delight to the senses. This sh*t is AMAZING and lasts forever! Total love! 💙

It has some similarities to Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle. I don’t mean they are very close, but there are some similarities... Anyway, this is a very sensual, elegant, creamy and intoxicating scent. Beautiful, addictive, smells heavenly, I can’t believe I could live until now without (even knowing) this perfume 🙈 It’s really unique and a gem in comparison to many designer fragrances.

Opening is very green and slightly powdery , then a very prominent Jasmin comes in, very strong, as if it’s out in the sun where you get strong aroma of Jasmin . Along comes a very deep and creamy vanilla, I also get some kind of spice like cinnamon or nutmeg . It’s so gorgeous and grown, maybe not going to appeal to younger crowd. 30 + old women . Magnificent, mature and sexy

This is the ultimate smokey citrus, vanilla, spicy, evening perfume. I love it on cold winter evenings. There's a masculine note that I can't really put my finger around it. It's a lot more complex than what's mentioned here and yes, as most people said, it's been reformulated a couple of times. I have the silver blue version and I've been happy with it for years now.

I don't have a signature scent and have never had. Maybe though this was my signature for some time after I bought it. It has the most beautiful vanilla I have ever sniffed. It is a strong, but clean and cool vanilla, that appear to the fullest some 4-5 hours after application. I have never known any vanilla fragrance even close to it, it is of a different kind.

Smells like what I would imagine jasmine jelly beans would taste. Absolutely delicious, I come back to it again and again. My review is about the second most recent version, which I jumped at when I heard about yet another reformulation. It does become a little less magical each time, but maybe I would feel differently if I were smelling it for the first time.

@Norma_laura Yes, it seems it is being replaced with 3 floral/fruity versions of it. At least, that's what I read on the Addict 2012 page. :-/ I don't get what Dior is doing here. Edit 27/12 🤣 I heard from a French contact that it's the EDT and the Eau Fraîche that are actually discontinued and that they're keeping the EDP bc it's still selling pretty well.

This is just irresistible. The green vanilla is super sexy—warm, sweet, and totally addictive. It’s bold but still elegant, making it perfect for when you want to stand out. I’m seriously obsessed with it; it’s one of those scents that just sticks with you and feels so confident and powerful. Definitely a favorite I can’t get enough of!

This is a beautiful mature fragrance. Hands down a classic that belongs in every fragrance collection. The Jasmine, bourbon vanilla and orange blossom make this fragrance unbelievably intoxicating. I decided to give this a test spray while I was wandering around duty free. Sweet, boozy, spicy, mature and classy. It definitely smells like a Dior product. Very addicting and well blended, I can understand the hype. I think this would be a head turner but it's not cloying. I can imagine men and women pulling this off.

One of my all time favorites. It is extremely similar to Guerlain's Samsara EDP, the spicy vanilla and the everlasting powdery feeling bring them close together. I adore them both. It creates a sense of sophistication and empoverment, like you can achieve anything you want that day. It really is addicting.

I just bought another back up bottle because I read somewhere it was being reformulated again. So grab it while you can. I get most of my perfumes from FragranceNet and I’ve never been disappointed. You save a lot of money. I love this perfume. When I’m craving that sweet vanilla scent this is my go to.
