I must start by saying that Dior Addict EDP is my soulmate fragrance — a perfume that ties me deeply to a cherished friendship and the vibrant years of my student life. I consider it a masterpiece of luxury perfumery and, without a doubt, the finest creation from the house of Dior. While the EDP remains the bolder, more daring version — spicy, sharp-edged, with a floral heart that takes the lead—the Extrait de Parfum is a different kind of magic. I feel incredibly lucky to have the Extrait in my collection. It is beautifully rounded, settled, and profound. If the EDP uses its base to support the flowers, the Extrait reverses the roles: the deep notes of Tonka bean, Sandalwood, and Vanilla are the stars here, while the florals act as the bridge that binds them. It smells so natural, feels incredibly consistent on the skin, and its longevity is surreal—it truly lingers even after a shower. Two versions of the same icon, each perfect in its own time and depth.

If you ever dreamt of a richer Addict, the extrait was it! Limited run in the early years (2002/2004), the extrait took the party to the after party! Still oiled up tanned skin, still neon colors, big sunglasses at night. Marlboro lights, Smirnoff Ice and dj’s playing till the morning light. Highway, windows down, fast lane...this is the very essence of early Millenium partying! Creamier, oilier. More sandalwood and night blooming jasmine, a deeper shade of vanilla. If vintage Addict is a stunner, the Parfum was the star of the family. Even if expensive and quite hard to find, I still advise to seek it out. Only for diehard fans!
