I've been lurking for a while now so I thought it was about time I contribute something. I've decided my first should be my current favourite - Dior Homme Sport. I first discovered this at Nice Airport earlier this year. I loved that orangey citrus burst followed by a classy vanilla-esque drydown which is very similar to the original Dior Homme. I tried to find it when I returned to the UK but soon discovered a problem - I had tried the brand spanking at-the-time unreleased anywhere but France, 2012 reformulation. In the meantime however I did try the old formula DHS though, which I found to be quite a bit different. It starts off with incredibly zingy lemon citrus as opposed to orange, with grapefruit and ginger. It wasn't too long before I started reading up on these two versions and through other's opinions of old and new reformulations and my own testing when the new reform was finally released in the UK, I came to the decision that the old formula was the one for me - it smells better and is longer lasting. So, I bought a bottle of old DHS, taking care to buy the correct one (black square, not grey). I had the choice of cosmetic code 1Zxx (2011) or a 9Fxx (2009), but thinking as they were both the old formula I would go for the later one which would be good for longer. It must have taken about a week of using my 2011 DHS to realise something was not right. The scent was exactly what I expected of the old DHS formula, lemony grapefruit ginger loveliness, however this stuff was lasting 2 hours max, and had little to no projection. Nothing like the test bottle in Debenhams. So I went back to Debenhams and give the tester another go. I was livid! The tester lasted all day from 9am and was still going strong the next day. Still projecting until I left work at about 4pm. So I exchanged my 2011 for the 2009 bottle at Debenhams (no mean feat I can tell you). And lo and behold the 2009 bottle is amazing in longevity and projection, just like the tester. So, to conclude - it is my opinion that Dior actually reformulated DHS before the official reformulation in 2012. Dior may not have changed the actual scent, but they definitely changed the potency quite substantially. This would go some way to explain why some reviewers in this thread say how amazing the longevity and projection is, while some say it lasts merely hours. If your local shop still sells old formula DHS, my advice is to go for as early a bottle as you can. The only difference I could find between bottles was the 2011 bottle had the CD logo embossed on the top of the spritzer, while the 2009 bottle has no logo. Hope this helps any prospective buyers!

I have fond memories with this one. I remember when I first bought it at one of the perfume outlets within one of the malls near where I live that has since closed. I have bought many fragrances from there with this one being included in that list. When I first sprayed it on, I said I wanted to test it on skin because I didn't feel like a "sporty" fragrance would do well on the test strip. Let's say I'm glad I tested it on skin. I might have passed this one up. Here's the testing: The Smell: The name of the game in this is the Lemon/Ginger combo. It's very linear, meaning, it's not going to really deviate from this smell. I get it from start to finish and, honestly, that's okay. It's a sport fragrance. It's not meant to blow your freakin' head off or have "complexity." It's meant to be simple and smell good. I believe it accomplished both. I love the smell. I have one of the original formulations of this and I have about half of a bottle remaining so I use it sparingly as I have been told the scent profile changed slightly. I don't know if there is any truth to that as I have not tested the recent version of DHS. Going off of what I have, I enjoy it. Smell: 8/10 Projection: DHS projects for about 2 hours and then dies down to a skin scent until its gone. Its a sport fragrance so I didn't expect mind blowing projection. It does last though. If someone gets in the "intimate" area, they'll smell you. Projection: 5/10 Versatility: Anytime, Anywhere. You can pull this off easily. It's very inoffensive and light enough that it can be used in just about any setting. Versatility: 10+/10 Price: From Dior's website, $82 for 75 mL ($1.09 per mL), $102 for 125 mL ($0.82 per mL), $140 for 200 mL ($0.70 per mL). I have the 75 mL version so this will be the price point I will reference. No matter which size you choose, you're going to get good value for your money. Price: 8/10 I really enjoyed this one. This is probably one of the only sports fragrances that I have tried that actually smelled great and lasted on my skin. If the rumors are true, then this scent has probably changed from what it used to be. I'm hoping this isn't true because I love wearing this in the warmer months. It's one of my go-to scents because of its versatility and wearability.

Heres my favorite fresh/citrus/lemony/sweet/ginger designer sport fragrance. IMHO one of the best citrus fragrance out there in line with chanel allure sport but not too lemony AKA lemon mirangue pie. This one has a ginger prominant base. This is not your typical sport lemon/citrus scent this one has class, sophistication, confident and elegance. This one is a total stunner i get compliments period out of ten people i have asked about this scent all they say is "it smells good" no negative feedback on this one so far. works very well on summer but you can wear it all year around. The scent reminds me of ginger soaked with sugar cane syrup blended with lemon and grapefruit very well balanced not synthetic at all. Just for info this has been reformulated i have not smell the reform one but this is getting hard to find now so get it while you can cause it will disappear soon. this last 7-10 hours tops on me very good for a fresh scent sillage average but on warm days a beast. definitely deserves a bottle in your collection. This is one of those fragrance that if i run out i willl be very piss off for those who loves it re-stock while you can. A very elagant sport fragrance indeed my rate longevity 8/10 very good for a fresh fragrance 6-8 hours on my skin better on humid days. sillage average 8/10 projects more on hot days uniqueness 9/10 id say the only ginger based sport frag done well over all smell 9/10 for me great my fave summer scent price vs quality 10/10 for me 70 dollars on your retail store if you can find one its very hard to find now cause theyre being replaced by the reform version. versatility works well on hot/warm days but a good all year around perfume.

Dior Homme Sport by Christian Dior This is one of my favorite citrus-based fragrances and definitely my favorite 'sport' fragrance. Other than its name it bears no resemblance to the other Dior Homme fragrances. So I will not be comparing it to them. I'll keep the review simple... DHS opens up with a fresh, invigorating blast of citrus in which the dominant note is grapefruit. In my opinion the grapefruit is done very well in that it manages to walk a fine line between the sweet and bitter. I've smelled fragrances that delve into both areas and prefer how Dior has chosen to do it here the most. As the citrus settles, an energetic and vibrant ginger-note emerges at the heart. Well supported by the citrus, this ginger note persists for the duration of the scent and never leaves. What I love about Dior Homme Sport is while the Citrus and Ginger create a wonderfully invigorating center, a subtle aquatic atmosphere develops in the background and rests around it. So while you have this charged, energetic heart-center, there is this calm and refreshing aura holding it in place. The aquatic feel that DHS develops is not oceanic in any sense but more along the lines of cool spring water. Longevity is great for a fragrance of this kind...I get 6 to 8 hours every time. Projection is excellent....not a monster or cloying at all, but very evident. I wore it in smoky Atlantic City casinos and it cut right through the smoke like a knife. Responses have all been positive when wearing this. Great as a casual date scent, gym scent, or hanging out with your buddies. I highly recommend this.

I tried a spray of Homme Sport on my hand a couple of months ago and found it to be superb: Fresh but with a depth missing from Colognes and other citrus fragrances (Acqua di Parma Colonia line being a notable exception). This first test was done during the colder months so I held of buying Homme sport at the time. Now spring is supposed to be near upon us I decided to buy a bottle. I tried another spray fully expecting to buy, but the scent was not impressing like last time I tried. Weaker somehow, less fresh, less complex. I was confused, dissapointed and started looking for an alternative. Just to satisfy my curiosity, after going back to the same shop I first sampled Homme Sport, I discovered that the sample bottle on display was the old 2008 formulation and the "to buy" stock were all the new formulation! No wonder I was confused when I re-sampled as that was clearly from the new 2012 formulation A near miss and no mistake! The 2008 version is much more powerful and fresh. I can imagine wearing the it for any occasion whereas the new 2012 one, quite aside from the reduction in strength and longevity, is a more classy affair. The new version has far less ginger, a more muted citrus and stronger floral notes. It's a lighter more masculine version of Homme. The original is actually less original as it's like 'just another sport frag' but it is done so well, far better than allure sport, all is forgiven. The only other fragrance I was looking at instead of this was Edition Blanche. Different in approach, but both are of equal quality and, on me, last about 4 to 6 hours.

Dior Homme Sport 2008 Review: DHS starts out wonderfully with a very strong lemon note. I find that a lot of citrus openings can be too sharp and harsh sometimes. Fortunately, this is not the case with this fragrance. The lemon is bright and smooth. It immediately grabs your attention without having the abrasive feel that some openings have. It's done perfectly. The ginger note follows the opening, moving to the forefront of the fragrance. It mixes with with lemon making for a spicy, sweet, and slightly sour smell. It's an amazing composition that stands out on it's own in a market that has countless "fresh" fragrances trying to achieve the same goal. This just does it better. It's an energizing and invigorating smell, that will keep your attention for the length of your wearing. I think this is a scent that will appeal to the majority of people in their 20's and 30's. That being said, anyone can wear this one. It's fresh, but at the same time very classy. This would fit perfectly in a number of situations. These situations could range from work to a date at the park on a beautiful Summer's day. This is currently my second favorite "Sport" fragrance. It sits only behind the masterpiece Encre Noire Sport. Sadly, I haven't tried the 2012 version yet. This one is definitely a hit though. I have had Dior Homme Sport EDT 2008 version for a long time. Didn't really noticed it much as the bottle looks pretty plain. I started watching the YouTube reviews & educating myself about fragrance and the science behind the process. As I learnt more, I started appreciating the Dior brand. It's much more famous & popular these days compared to 2009. Dior has spent a lot of money on marketing and it's shown. I suppose my taste in fragrance has evolved and there was a reason why I bought this 100ml bottle in the first place. I am glad I have a bottle as the more I use it, the more I enjoy it. It smells consistent throughout and very smooth. Simplicity at its finest. A reliable fragrance that makes me happy. The opening is fresh & clean citrus with a blast of ginger that lingers in the background. As the middle notes picks up the vetiver, it smooths out to a woody base with a warm combination from the sandalwood & lavender. I think this fragrance can be worn anytime & anywhere. It is simple & relaxed but smells very luxury. It's the French quality & elegance that shines in this fragrance. I actually look forward everytime I wear this fragrance as I know that it does not last very long or project much but the quality is top notch. I am grateful to have this bottle in my collection and hopefully past in on to my younger brothers or nephews as I doubt that I will ever use all of my fragrance, in my lifetime.

Imagine the late 2000s to early 2010s: a relatively stable world, days when time moved at a slower, familiar pace; perfumery that didn’t try to be as loud or as attention-seeking as it is now, and didn’t try to choke you on the subway on your way to work. Back then, fragrances were transparent, delicate, airy, maybe not as powerful as today’s releases, but they lingered on the skin for a long time, offering a pleasant, unobtrusive sillage that lasted until the end of the day. Dior Homme Sport 08 belongs to that era. The official pyramid only highlights the key colours the perfumer used, but what matters is the canvas he painted on. A transparent musky base combining the tart freshness of vetiver, the softness of sandalwood, and the powdery woodiness of cedar shavings creates the foundation for sparkling ginger and a citrus accord I can only describe as “yellow-neon lemon” with its brightness and neon quality further boosted by pink pepper and elemi. The era-typical Dihydromyrcenol and Calone provide a monstrously long-lasting freshness that pierces through the vertical structure of the composition from the top notes all the way down to the base. They simply don’t make fragrances like this anymore. I’m convinced that French perfumery has long taken a direction opposite to the style that D. Homme Sport 2008 and A. Code Sport 2011 once represented.

As I search for my Holy Grail scent year after year, (you know the one, spicy, woody, complex, highly individual...let me know if you find it!) I have noticed a strange irony. Some of the most beautiful, and I mean stunningly gorgeous women in my life, prefer fresh (read boring) frags on a man. I have no idea why; maybe it's the whole no-nonsense, showered and out-the-door image. Now I'm not one to change in order to be liked, but if I had to choose a 'fresh' Holy Grail, it would be Dior Homme Sport. In three basic notes, sparkling Sicilian lemon top, Ginger heart and smooth Cedarwood base, Dior has hit the nail on the head. Somehow sophisticated yet simple at the same time, this one has eclipsed my previous favourites. I think the reason is the balance it strikes between fresh and woody. I find Allure Homme Sport for example too 'piercing', screechy and synthetic. This one however has a nicely rounded character. Now the natural citrus is nothing new; Armani Eau pour homme and Eau Sauvage long before that went the same route. But here we have a nice update of those 'old-school' fresh and manly frags. If you are buying a gift for a man of any age this Christmas, or don't have the time to go around trying stuff out, I can recommend this as a safe blind buy.

one of the best designer's lemon scent. the lemon note is entwined with the ginger note that enchances the freshness of the lemon and adds some "sophistication" to the scent. the opening is really fresh and authentic lemon, after a minute, the ginger comes in and softens the citric sensation from the lemon, chills it up and making this "sport" fragrance more distinctive compared to the others. once it gets to the heart, the scent softens up and gets a bit sweet, the lemon is still there, the cedar note appears and the ginger gets more prominent. the longevity is great, i get about 8hours constant (in the 28celcius humid weather) projection is also great in the first 2-3hours. this fragrance is powerful enough to be used in 3 seasons (summer, spring and fall) and it is a really versatile scent, any occasion can pulled off with this fragrance. 2008 DHS is more of a authentic lemon + ginger scent to my nose, compared to the 2012 DHS which contained the iris. and 2008 DHS is more unique compared to the 2012 reformulation IMHO. it has been my signature scent for long (but not anymore) that i will always have this 2008 bottle in my collection.

I think I have a review buried in here from long ago, but it's now at least 7 years later and I'm still wearing this stuff as if it were brand new. I love the 2008 version. The other versions are also good, especially 2012, but 2008 is my favorite. This is the one to go for if you like the ginger note in DHS. 2008 is fronted by a bright, vibrant ginger. Coupled with grapefruit, it creates a greatly energizing fragrance with a pleasantly tart quality. The dry down consists of clean woods, a vetiver note standing out the most among the base. Personally, I get something of a watery, aquatic texture in the sillage of 2008, though the smell is more along the lines of citrus and ginger. As its forefather (Homme), Sport was also perhaps a bit ahead of its time as it still smells as modern and up to date in 2018 as it did in 2008. For the 8 years that I've owned this, it's consistently ranked in my top 20. Projection and longevity are solid. Recommended as a blind buy--and NOW--as there still seems to be a decent supply of 2008 bottles available. That will surely change over the next couple of years. Thumbs up (obviously!). Final rating 9.5/10.

Tüm parfümlerimin taklitlerini en övülen firmalar dahil bir kaç farklı firmadaki taklitlerini denediğimden kesinlikle taklitlerinden uzak durulması gereken bir parfümdür. Yazın sizi hiç üzmeyecektir. Gayet erkeksi ve bir o kadar da rahatlatıcı bir kokudur. Erkekler açısından limon kolonyasına çok benzediğini düşünsem de sanırım kadınlara pek öyle gelmiyor kokusu. :) Şahsen ben de çok beğendim çevremdekiler de olumlu tepkiler verdi. How I wish Dior had never changed this beautiful scent! This, the original DHS has one of the best citrus and ginger combos I've ever smelled, in fact the very best. The lemon in particular but also the grapefruit make such a brilliant superstar trio with the spicy ginger. Considering the notes one would think this is some summer freshie but no, DHS 2008 is truly a fantastic year round signature worthy fragrance as there is a compelling depth to Francois Demachy's unique composition. Others have tried to copy this winning recipe without success including Dior themselves. The 2012 version of DHS added some iris and was just OK if a little dull (and in my opinion kind of confused with the added iris seemingly just to match the others in the line) and sadly the latest incarnation (2017) feels unfinished and after the first minute becomes flatter than a stream-rolled pancake at a flat Earthers convention, it seems like they realised it didn't need the iris but also forgot what made the original so damn good. For crying out loud Dior, sort it out and bring back the ginger next time around!

I spotted an old bottle of this at Sephora, completely untouched, with the 2017 version as the actual tester. It's sad to see fragrances of such high quality neglected by uneducated salespeople. I asked if I could have it, but they refused. I understand that they aren't able to sell it, but if the product is discontinued, then why do you still display it on the floor? Why destroy the product by tossing it in the garbage when somebody is willing to take it and make use of it? Ridiculous. Anyway, I gave this and the 2014 versions a sniff, and the difference is quite noticeable. This one has a beautiful, zingy citrus and ginger opening, with a cool and refreshing aquatic twist that truly defines the word "sport". The reformulated version is rather sweet and less citric overall. Whilst it is still pleasant, it isn't exactly sporty, and it feels like iris was added to the mix even when it isn't listed. However, is this fragrance amazing? No, not really. That's not to say that it isn't good, because it's lovely, but it's not something I would kill to have.

This little number caught me off guard. I was ion the market for a sporty fragrance that I could wear on the regular for summer and not waste my more "executive" smelling summer frags. I tried this, Versace Pour Homme and Chanel Allure Homme sport. I liked VPH the best and bought it a few months later I had a glass or ginger ale and I realized it immediately made me think of Dior Homme Sport (2008). I was able to smell it again and I must say I love this stuff now, just ordered a 3.4oz after I found out no one is selling the old version in favor for the new more grown up less fun version that's honestly lost its zest if I can be honest. I swear the nose works in mysterious ways. I give it a 10/10 for smell, not many frags remind me of my favorite carbonated beverage, 7/10 for longevity, lasts around 6 to 7 hours and a 8/10 for versatility, I could wear this in a shirt and board shorts or in a suit. Its got class and playfullness

This is the king of sport fragrances! (talking about the 2008 formula) I've had it for about 9 years and never did a review. DHS is a bright lemon-ginger-grapefruit combo that smells so natural and fresh compared to current "sport" designer fragrances. It has great sillage and longevity (solid 8-10 hours on my skin). Demachy really did a great job with this one. Sadly Dior changed the formulation in 2012 (which is still good but not as great as the 2008) and finally another reformulation in 2017 which is a shame, and just stands in the shadow of the original DHS. I was lucky enough to get a bottle in 2011 before its first reformulation, now I have about 10ml left. Been looking around for another bottle but haven't got lucky ): since it is almost impossible to find a 2008-2011 batch here in Mexico. This will always be in my top 5 favorites off all time. Very easy to wear and has got me lots of compliments. To me it is a 10/10.

Absolutely the best sport fragrance that was on market EVER! That proves that F. Demachy is an absolute maestro in composing fresh fragrances. This one is not a typical citrus fragrance. It's opening is a feeling of totally refreshness, fresh squeezed lemons or a very fresh lemon juice - that's what I feel. After about 2 hours it's getting serious, I would say even elegant and formal because of ginger. The ginger-lemon combo is an absolutely genious and masterpiece for me, that's what make this frag unique from other sporty-type ones. I adore it, oh yes! Its base makes it a little warm - I think because of the sandalwood and spicy - because of herbs(rosemary&lavender mix). Longevity is huge, at least 8 hours, but I usually get 10. Sillage and projection are medium. An absolutely masterpiece for me! The 2012 version is "only" good, this one - is brilliant. If ain't broken - why fix it?

Glad to have picked up a decant of this off Facebook. The 2021 version is easily my most complimented fragrance, and so I wanted to try previous iterations of it. Both the 2008 and 2021 versions are the epitome of class. This is just as wearable at a summertime wedding as it as when riding your bike on a trail. The opening here is sharper than the 2021, featuring the elemi resin in the opening as opposed to the heart. The ginger and vetiver work really well in the heart and provides an invigorating scent when you catch it in air. At first, I thought this had poor projection and longevity, but after a few weeks of maceration, I'm satisfied with the performance (especially considering how old the juice is). Dior should reintroduce this profile somehow, bc it's a really good summer signature. Dior just makes good fragrances, and this and the 2021 version are major proof of that. 9/10

I miss this gem! To me this and not Bleu de Chanel (which I owned twice too) was the OG 'blue' type fragrance. I went through a bottle of this years ago before being so into fragrances, it quickly became my signature scent, I was hooked on the stuff and my GF at the time equally so. Sadly replaced it with Chanel Allure Homme sport then by the time that was done I got another DHS but it was the 2012 version, still pretty good and it made sense in a way to add the iris of the rest of the Dior Homme line but the original Sport was just so perfect, such a shame. 2017 seemed like a half-hearted (although not a bad scent) attempt to revisit the spirit of the original but it still lacked that ginger kick. I wonder how the new (2021) iteration will compare...but I think Dior perhaps shouldn't have messed around changing-up such a good scent.
