Gris Dior Esprit De Parfum

This is definitely the most similar Esprit from it’s original version. I would call the original Gris Dior EDP “sparkling”. The bergamot is prominent with a fresh rose and a clean patchouli. Its a very modern and wearable chypre. Gris Dior Esprit doesn’t derogate from its clean nature, but takes a more powdery direction. The original description shows a violet note, which makes Gris Dior Esprit more mysterious, a bit more “gothic” almost. If I had to compare them to 2 different people, Gris Dior edp would be a business women in Paris, dressed in light grey, clean, serious and corporate. Gris Dior Esprit would someone from an artistic field like a important lady working in music production or art deal and she wears a black suit with eyeliner and many ear piercings. This scent is truly so beautiful with a great dry-down and long-lasting.

I am so glad I didn’t read all the reviews prior to purchasing. I was given several samples of this from a Dior shop when I purchased several bottles prior to Christmas. I took a while to make the decision but once I fell for this scent, I was all in. I absolutely love this fragrance. At first I thought it was going to be redundant to the original Gris Dior, which I already own and love. The original seems to be more powdery and softer and still has its place, but this is richer and deeper and slightly more intoxicating to me. I love patchouli fragrances, and the patchouli in this is stronger and adds more depth. I strongly disagree that this has been ruined by MFK. But the world is full of opinions. We all get to have one.

It is like the perfect blend between Ambre des Merveilles by Hermes and Gris Montaigne! This is phenomenal! Strong sillage, long lasting power, sophisticated, classy, PERFECTLY unisex, this is everything I wanted Gris Dior to be for years, the amber and patchouli are at their highest potential! 10/10!!!!!! The esprit de parfum line might be expensive but it is worth every penny! It is what the DIOR collection privée line used to be years ago with Demachy before reformulations basically!

I bought this fragrance on March 8 2025. Almost every one I’ve came in contact with? Has complimented me on this fragrance. I feel like this should be classified as rich rose. Definitely signature scent worthy . Unique. Fills up a room no doubt . I recommend this scent is you’re looking for something with rose but very unique . Testing my sample; this is a deeper version of the original, wears woodier and noticeably sweeter on my skin, like a grapey patchouli. This is one my favorite DNA of the Maison Line, so I really like this. Very strong, cool/cold weather appropriate. Received a compliment, strong too.

Wow this is great not sure what I was expecting. While not looking at the notes I tested this and I got this syrupy smell but mainly I got grape soda or grape candy. Then it settled into this jammy rose with patchouli. This stuff is really amazing

This is a deeper, intense, rich version of Dior Gris which is excellent in every way however this is insanely overpriced. Not considering price this is a 9/10 but based on the price it’s a 5/10

This is perfection. As a man who wears a suit daily, this adds something to my aura that other fragrances just can’t quite achieve. Could reach goat status imo

A deeper, richer take on the original, where patchouli and amber steal the show. Earthy, woody, and wrapped in chypre elegance. This one fills the room.

Definitely a step above the original. Darker, denser, more direct. The original is light and airy. This extrait also leans slightly more masculine.

Yes, the price is too high. But the fragrance is excellent! A richer, denser, creamier and more opulent version of the original. A masterpiece!

More rounded and softer than the white label version. Have the later but prefer this one better.

Absolutely gorgeous! A true luxurious, velvety perfume!

Magnificent opening, dries down very quickly to a relentless, infinite akigalawood, à la Quentin Bisch. Reminds me of Dioriviera, not in its scent profile but in its punishing, relentless tenacity and lack of complexity. I cannot stress the relentlessness enough. I think this is the worst in the esprit range so far. I mostly like the others though, so I'm still interested in what else they might do next.

Bland opinions coming up on these esprits and perhaps the blandest being Gris Dior. Seemed like an odd choice considering they have Rouge Trafalgar and Oud Ispahan in this collection, overkill on the rose perfumes but hey ho! Jammy, fruity, full top notes on this one, all the things I don’t recall Gris Dior being in its edp format. I liked it but nothing massively stiring to me.

One of the only misses from the dior private line. In the opening it smells a little like bug spray. Once it dries down, the bug spray tones down but doesn't go away. Floral and wood notes come in. Overall after the opening it is a great smooth woody floral scent. 8/10, great scent but $470 for a 2.5oz is too much.

Out of the entire Esprit line, this one is the most similar to the original EDP. It's a little sweeter, a little more powdery, but keeps the heart and soul of the first Gris Dior. Perhaps the only one I actually like out of all the Esprits, after all.

Gris Dior Esprit De Parfum Dior (Paper test) Really resemblance Gris Montaigne by the way of Ylang Syrup. And amp up super-amber. Still very great validation of Gris Dior due to it strong-ness. Very true to Concentration increment, which I do like.

The thing with Gris Dior Esprit is that it had little to do to get me to actually like it. I love the original formula through and through and I would have loved a punchier version while being otherwise same. I wouldn’t care if it was overpriced. I would gladly let Dior take my money... BUT, this EsDP has the same energy as a courtesy call that could’ve been an email and not an onsite meeting. Sure, the rose is a tad bit sweeter, and maybe the Oakmoss isn’t as waxy, but it doesn’t add a punch like the rest of the collection thus far. It feels like MFK didn’t take the time to understand what nuances could be pooled from this Grey-rose chypre, and in the process, just reinvented the wheel with the original wheel beside him. It’s beautiful, it’s Gris Dior, but I would’ve rather this be a clandestine re-release or reformulation than an actual overpriced flanker. Nothing is really added and the price doesn’t really justify the experience you end up getting BUT I guess I’ll get it at a severely discounted price to layer with the original but it has to be a ridiculous mark down.

A good question below is "Gris Dior only possible in its original concentration?". This was my exact thought after smelling the Esprit. I'm afraid that's the case, but also the perfumer and the marketing might just followed the woody amber trends and not necessarily aimed to increase the original concentration while sticking to the same formula. I personally don't believe if it would be better if they used the same formula by only increasing the concentration. That's not how perfumery works, unfortunately. Just like cooking, like spices are amazing but just because they're amazing in certain amounts doesn't make it better as you add more and more. With that said, Esprit is undeniably carries the Gris Dior DNA, due to dark rose x patchouli x violet combo with peppery, woody and lactonic nuances. However the thick additions of amber-woody notes made something masculine-rosy-chypre. The Atlas cedar and woody ambers are boosted. All of these thick, opaque notes IMO are now blocking the bright transparency of the original, which was thanks to Iso E Super and a variation of Hedione still able to find space to show themselves. In Esprit, naturally, it comes at a cost because in perfumery some ingredients are blocked so easily, they can't shine as good alongside with more powerful and thick ingredients.

This perfume made me irrationally angry. It smells like grape bubble yum gum on me. If I was 10 years old this would be a dream come true-completing the look with jellies, plastic bangles and plastic charm necklaces. It would be a dream come true to smell like grape bubble gum and to be rollerskating around... but I’m old and sad and need a complicated scent. The original smells like an angels kiss in comparison and I think I was expecting that but long lasting. It feels like a mistake. Like a whole lotta of the wrong thing was poured into the vat and it was an “oopsie” but will pass cause it’s Dior. They are right! I’ve been fooled and I’ll be fooled again. Lucky EDP looks promising...but again-the reviews are saying it’s a different scent. Why give it the same name? Why not do a release of new scents-complete with new names? They are...This feels like a project that you wanted to resubmit and get an A but sorry-it’s a fail.

This opens with a sweet, syrupy rose that’s immediately balanced by earthy patchouli. As it dries down, the scent deepens with layers of woods, moss, and patchouli, creating a richer, more deeper interpretation than the original Gris Dior. Some may find the moss, woods and patchouli a bit intense however the richness and projection is typical of Francis Kurkdjian signature style here, there could be some synthetic molecules here making this even more intriguing. The overall impression is elegant, bold, and unique, with a subtle musky powdery purple nuance that lends it distinctly French. It's well-balanced and truly timeless.

Gris Dior EDP is in my top 5. I absolutely love it. So, I was excited to try this. I have received a few samples in Dior skincare orders. It's a lovely fragrance and definitely has the Gris Dior DNA, but if I knew absolutely nothing about Gris Dior and someone made me smell both, asking which was the expensive fragrance, I'm pretty sure I'd be choosing the EDP. The Esprit is good, but I was underwhelmed for the price point. Maybe it's because I love the EDP so much that anything else would underwhelm me?

As a big lover of Gris Dior I had to try this one. And just like everything Francis Kurkdjian has touched in Dior, it’s horrid. The original flair is all gone replaced by something my 6-year old would have liked. It’s a more synthetic, jacked up juice that feels so out of character for a great house like Dior. It’s not as bad as the new Dior Homme Parfum (which is a synthetic mess) but it’s still FAR from the greatness of the original. I wonder how long he will keep on destroying the Dior legacy.

This is very reminiscent of Gris Montaigne before the reformulations. If feels like these houses are deliberately watering down their original formulas so that they can come out with NEW and concentrated versions of the same old formula to be able market them at a higher price bracket. Nevertheless, this perfume is my favourite from the Esprit line and it is indeed beautiful. I just can't justify the price knowing the original stood toe to toe with this one at a much lower price.

Gris Dior on steroids. Totally unnecessary. I think one of the most appealing things about the original GD is that it is delicate but not muted. I find it such a simple, classy, freshening scent. This is too much. It doesn’t work to amp up a fragrance like that. It doesn’t have the right DNA to pull it off. My nose hurts - this fragrance is overwhelmingly strong and loud. Too much PATCHOULI.

This opens with a sweet, rich rose, reminiscent of opening a jar of rose jam. Unfortunately, this impression fades quickly and woody, mossy notes come to the front, reinforced by a solid dose of patchouli. The composition didn’t impress me, but it will certainly find its admirers. Longevity on my skin is around six hours, with moderate projection.

Got given a sample of this and its a very sophisticated scent and one that I would love on a woman. Lasted like 24 hours on my skin, put it on one morning and then woke up the next still smelling it which was insane. Don't think I can rate it as it is too feminine for me BUT if you're a woman then check this out

Compared to other esprit de parfum, this one is almost similar to original, but was the unique elegance of the original Gris Dior only possible in its original concentration? It feels like a cacophony of all emphasized notes screaming at you, and the sillage and longevity are unsatisfactory for the price.

The elegance of Gris Dior has completely disappeared. Gris Dior is like a harp symphony nourished by delicate notes. Gris Dior Esprit, on the other hand, is harsh and angular, like the work of a perfumer who has just graduated from perfume school. Franchis Kurkdjian tries to destroy Dior, fiasco

I sniffed once today and it filled the whole room either due to vaporisation or because it left a mark on my scent memory. Yet somehow I did not like it as much as I did the classic one. Still find classic version more elegant and chic, and of course more memorizable.

Gris Dior esprit de parfum opens very similarly to the EDP version, fresh grapey cheypre. The esprit dries down to a very dank patchouli and a little dry vetiver with a tiny trace of the gris dior dna floating over it. I prefer the original but this is nice.

That’s now is my favourite perfume. I know it’s very expensive but trust me is different of anything you can find. I spray that in my clothes and I put it to wash and after wash my whole clothes is with this smell. Trust me it last almost forever.

I wanted this, but having seen the price (£380 for 80ml) I think Dior must be having a laugh. Francis Kurkdjian doesn’t charge that much for his niche line, so I have no idea what Dior’s excuse is for such a ridiculous price point.

Erianwyn There are numerous of noname/famous niche brand on the market with absurd tag price of 400$+ for some mediocre (or even disaster) fragrance. So why Dior should make any excuse?

Notes are amped up, so it acts like a very different fragrance to the normal version. Rose is prominent at the start and then the patchouli / oak moss comes in. Good staying power.

This is an abomination. The other versions were a lot better. This somehow reminds me of Janitor in a drum floor cleaner from the 50’s. Big NO for me.

I haven't smell the OS, but this one is so mediocre not bad but it doesn't stand for what it is. Unjustifiable price range of course.

Sweeter version from the OG, quite lasting. I prefer the OG.
