I Love Dior

God, i forgot how gorgeous this is! I had it between 2003 and 2005, used it up and held onto the bottle for a few years. Back then i had at most 3 perfumes at the same time...not ashamed to admit, we were in the USA for only few years, trying to make ends meet and figure out our new lives. My husband bought I Love Dior for me and i remember it making a pretty huge dent in our budget. Few days ago i realized that i would really like to have it again, and managed to snag one for about 30 bucks. I just received it today, i am wearing it right now, and it is exactly the way i remember it. It makes me happy! Very classy and feminine, they just don't make them like this anymore. I am really, really, really glad i was able to move this from my I Had It shelf, to I Have It 🤗 Gorgeous!

Oh it's gorgeous! And what a divine bottle and box!!! I love it for that alone, it's fabulous!! And I adore the beautiful perfume. Lily-of-the-valley is almost my favourite flower! It's the perfect fairy flower. Beautiful, and it's heavenly in this. It's a very feminine perfume, and rather fruity and sweet, but not overly so, and I love it. It's very refreshing, and delicate, but the dry-down is warm and enveloping and very comforting. It's wonderful on a hot day, and makes me feel light and happy. Beautiful!!

light floral. underrated due to tacky bottle design; should be marketed as Lady's summer breeze yet the packaging looked like a teenager's cheap take. I brushed it off years ago due to packaging, but was triggered recently after reading the ingredient list on fragrantica. Glad I tried it. Pretty summer breeze of lily of the valley, orange, raspberry etc... reminded me of my youth in Summer Vancouver, a walk down the downtown Stanley Park, along the oceanside.

This is just such a classically pretty scent. The lily of the valley's cool springtime edge is warmed by the summertime magnolia and the pear and citruses give it a light sparkle. Gorgeous, sheer, and work-appropriate.

I loved this perfume ...Unfortunately this scent was a limited edition . i don't know why dior makes the best perfumes limited editions

Will bring you back to low rise jeans and spray tan era. Fresh and youthful!

Recently, I've been revisiting those fragrances from my past that I've all but forgotten. Scent memory truly is amazing. Even if I purchase a used bottle that has gone off a bit, a mere hint of a fragrance is all I need to instantly recall it in all its glory with shocking clarity. I just received a partial bottle of I <3 Dior, and it has indeed gone off a bit. I will likely toss it when I'm done reminiscing. Yet, I experienced total recall from what essence of the scent remains, and on me, it is a lily-of-the-valley blast! I'm surprised LOTV wasn't voted the prevalent note on here. (I just voted it up to second place.) In fairness, LOTV is always a note that makes its presence known on my skin, and I'm definitely okay with that. Nevertheless, I will not bother to hunt down a fresher bottle of I <3 Dior. It's nice but not amazing. Tonight's brief reunion will suffice.

This fragrance smells like candy after it settles down, and I don't mean cotton candy or your typical Aquolina Sugar (whatever it is-LOL) scent. I mean, this is candy with a fresh-floral twist. I was lucky enough to win a fresh 1.7 oz bottle for a whopping $2.74 on eBay!!! YESSS-I couldn't believe it either! :-) :-) :-) As one can tell by my perfume wardrobe, I don't go for scents like this one. The only fragrance I can compare this one to is Cassini by Oleg Cassini. I owned it when I was 12 years young and I always said that Cassini (with the pink top) smelled like candy. This one has to be sprayed with a light hand. I find it best to spray it about 8 inches away from your skin and waiting at least half an hour before stepping out into the world :-) I actually enjoy getting wafts of the scent from inner elbows every time I move around.

My grandmother bought this fragrance for me when I was still in elementary school. I liked the scent back then as it was fresh and young. At that time I didn't use scents that often. In the end I got bored of it tho and now that I think about it I'm not so sure it fit the natural scent of my skin so well. After I got bored of it my grandma used the rest of it. Tho i think I still have the bottle somewhere with a few drops in it so I can smell it and bring back memories. I remember the clean pear scent that was the main scent I felt in it. Lily of the valley was also there and that was the reason I liked the scent in the first place. (Lily of the valley has always been one of my favourite scents.)

A sweet childhood memory parfyme. smells nice and clean whit a little bit of powder at the end . i am 33 but i still can use this . a sporty nice averyday parfyme to use when i want to feel fresh and young :)

Was made for jeans but a powerful woman can wear it successful on a business suit, one of the 3 scents for Dior I can wear and trust me I tried almost all vintage and new.

Just received a vintage bottle of this. This one doesn't age well. At least my bottle didn't. It's 20+ years old at this point, so I knew I was taking a risk when I saw the notes list. These light citrus florals don't last as long as other more robust compositions, in my experience, so I made sure not to pay very much for it. No idea how it was stored or taken care of, so it might just be my bottle, but the top citrus notes were completely deteriorated. Not surprised, really, as those citrus notes are usually the first to go off. Having said that, once I got about 40 minutes in, and those busted, twangy top notes burned off, it settled into a light white floral. I can kind of get a sense of what this once was at full dry down. It was probably lovely when it was first produced, but unfortunately my bottle is unwearable now. I'll probably just keep it for nostalgia purposes, or end up pitching it, as I would never resell it in this condition. Because of that, I'd be super considerate before splashing out a ton of money to get your hands on this one. Too risky in my opinion.

I can safely say that I [previously] loved Dior. Not any more after blind buys of this and Midnight Charm. The packaging is tacky though I decided to judge the scent on its own merits. One spray and all I get from this is lemon scented cleaning product. My experience with Dior fragrances prior to this has been mostly positive. I associated the brand with high end, classy fragrances such as Poison; J'Adore; and Miss Dior Cherie. The cheap quality (with expensive price tag) for I Love Dior has made me reconsider what I think of Dior as a perfume house.

I Love Dior is my latest $12 Ebay purchase. I haven’t received it yet, but the bottle, the name, the zeitgeist give me more than enough to start writing. In 2003, French Fries became “Freedom Fries” when a US member of Congress proposed excising France from the American consciousness for the perceived betrayal of opposing the invasion of Iraq. I think there was “Freedom Toast” as well. 8260699.i_love_diorI imagine that the Dior perfume, released in 2002, was in the works before 9/11, but I don’t know when the name, image, marketing came into play. The bottle is the generic bottle that Dior were using for Diorella, Diorissimo, Dioressence at the time. LVMH would eventually use the bottle as a bridge from the classics to... whatever perfumes like Dior Me, Dior Me Not and Dior Star and Forever and Ever Dior were. The I Love Dior box and bottle sported a grainy close-up of denim and a decal with, “I (Heart) Dior.” I suppose I Heart Dior was one of the perfumes hoping to bandwagon on the success of YSL Baby Doll’s nouveau feminism. Still, it’s hard not to see I Heart Dior as a dumbed down version of j’Adore (translation: I heart) for Americans. j’Adore was enormously popular and accessible and I Heart Dior reads as an unnecessary dilution of an already least-common denominator. I Love Dior has a fruity citrus start along with some faint Forever and Ever Dior type of floral hint. Soon the bubbly sizzling cirtrus scent settles down and you will get a good nice long perfect tangling of bitter orange in light fresh floral veil. A kind of strangely attractive greenish floral sweetness comes along and becomes more and more distinctive as the lively orange/floral combo goes lighter and eventually to the background. The dry down is like a nice monologue of the spiced-up greenish floral sweet nuance with some comfy and warm hints. Some of the members here recommended I Love Dior for teenagers, but I would say anyone between 15-40 who likes to wear jeans sometimes, can easily wear this nice perfume. I think the bottle design really captured the essence of this perfume. It is as multifunctional and multifaceted as a pair of nice jeans. Yes it does have some fruity and citrus hints here, but it's so not the watery/sugary/try-hard-innocent-fruity commercial teenager scent. Give it a little time to settle down, you may notice that I Love Dior is an easy-going perfume with hidden elegant attitude.

Oh god, I remember when I first smelled this on a ferry back in 2002 when I was 20 years old and out on my own in the world for the first time. I moved to Denmark for the summer and my friend came to visit me and we decided to take a little Eurotrip to Germany and France. Thus the ferry. I saw the bottle in the Duty Free shop and immediately liked it. Sprayed it on and fell in love. This is a very much "me" smell. Still is, but even more so back then. I adored fresh and light fumes, flowery/fruity innocent types of smells. I remember contemplating if I should buy it or not but ended up not buying it, since I was a dirt poor student at the time. Even though I never bought it, it still lives fresh in my memory... from that one spritz on the ferry. It will forever remind me of being young and carefree, falling in love, travelling to foreign places, having adventures and not taking life too seriously. In essence living in the moment and loving life. It makes me feel nostalgic. I'm grateful for all those happy memories that warm my soul. For that I truly do heart Dior <3

I'll start by saying that I tried this fragrance in the store today and I'm not a 100% certain on whether or not the tester has gone bad. The juice inside was orange coloured. I can sense alot of citrusy and orange blossom notes in this fragrance. They are in some ways strong, but not overpowering. I Love Dior is also quite soapy and fresh with slight hints of powder every now and then. Seeing that this fragrance has been discontinued now for almost 6 years, I have a funny feeling that the town in which I found this perfume is just trying to rid themselves of old stock. Australian stores are funny like that sometimes. Fragrances aren't usually a widely bought item. The scent reminds me somewhat of Truth for women by Calvin Klein, (I will be retesting Truth to make sure that also wasn't an off tester bottle). From what I can gather, I Love Dior was a unique, refreshing, clean and delightful floral fragrance. It is a pity that Dior makes so many limited editions only to discontinue them 12 months later.

This is a fruity floral done absolutely right. This resembles my other all time favourite Nina Ricci Love In Paris but without the banana and spicy notes. This also reminds me very much of Hugo boss xx with the strong white florals against an equally strong citrusy/fruity background. You can really smell the lily, honeysuckle and bitter orange notes which have held up really well in spite of the age of my miniature bottle. In the dry down this turns surprisingly quite powdery despite no powdery notes (such as violet) listed. I could also smell apricots. Too bad this was discintinued so fast. This goes to show that even limited editions from 20 plus years ago were complete masterpieces!
