La Colle Noire (2018)

Just bought a huge bottle — mostly because I want to be able to spray indiscriminately, plus the idea of running out ruins me. Lol. It’s a gorgeous, watery, ethereal, lightly fruity rose scent with a thin veil of honey over the petals and a lightly spiced white musk at the base, then blended to perfection. The musk sort of reminds me of the slightly sweet musty smell of a wet rose garden, but in the best way — nothing sickly. It’s sweeter, and blended to perfection. There’s a bit of depth to it underneath the beautiful roses that you almost don’t notice, unless you already know it has woody notes and you’re trying to find it. I think it’s a perfect signature scent for an elegant, traditional (yet comfortable with her femininity) boss lady who has a playful and flirty side. It is also quite sensual, yet somehow appropriate for anywhere. My artistic interpretation of this scent is: A young and lovely Cinderella, confidently strolling in the palace garden at dusk, playing with rose petals.. dropping them in the water fountain... the smell of fresh dew and leaves on the ground... waiting for her prince to meet up with her. He is slightly late, but she doesn’t really notice. She knows he will be along soon. She smiles when she thinks of him, remembering the way he gazes at her... Her gown is long; a veil of white organza over a blush pink slip, with the tiniest Swarovski crystals sparkling in the moonlight... her hair trailing behind her in beautiful, soft, long, sexy, ballyage-like beige-blonde curls. She is sweet and innocent — mostly! — and completely lovestruck, with a glint of playful mischief sparkling in her eyes. He is about to propose. She knows it.

Sampled a few from the Dior Privee Collection store (Lucky, Holy Peony, Rose Kabuki, Rouge Trafalgar, Belle Du Jour). My personal opinion - this was the most sophisticated and had the best longevity of the few I sampled, based on the perfume sample cards. Although I must say, most of the fragrances from the Dior Privee Collection are really pretty florals on the opening and middle notes. Like walking around different flower patches in a lush garden. Went back to the store to purchase a small bottle of La Colle Noire. On first spray, the rose really comes through. To me it's a deep, sparkling, elegant rose. Interestingly, I got more oud/woody basenotes from the dry down on the card, but more musky base notes when the dry down developed on my skin. Very pretty, elegant, and inoffensive. Maybe some may not absolutely love, but can't see anyone hating this honestly. If I had to imagine a person wearing this - a pretty, expensive-looking girl who's kind of a people-pleaser. Anyway, I love this perfume :)

Before I got interested in perfume, I hunted down a discontinued bottle of Balenciaga L'eau Rose (a Paris flanker) because it was a sentimental bottle (my husband and I were dating when I wore it). It is overly sweet and has poor longevity, and I ended up paying $270 due to scarcity. So dumb. But perhaps, if I could go back in time, knowing what I know now, I would have purchased Dior's La Colle Noire because it's just so much better. This is less sweet, more grown up, better balanced. I get quite a bit of tartness--lemon, raspberry. This is a rose scent, fresh and tart. The longer I have this on, the more I like it--the scent deepens developing and rounding with counterbalanced, woody notes. So pretty--mature without being dated, elegant, and undeniably feminine in the classic sense. I may buy a bottle of this--I have many rose scents (Diptique, MFK, Bvlgari Rose Goldea, Balenciaga Roseabotanica, D&G Rose The One, etc.), but this is by far one of the best.

This smell is magical. I visited the Dior flagship boutique in San Francisco today and I bought this for my favorite woman in the world. My friend loves Peony and Rose with a touch of sweetness and this perfume delivers perfectly. The Honey and Lemon notes bring the Rose and Peony together magically. The Rose and Peony smells stay up front and pronounced after the dry down. As soon as I smelled this fragrance I loved it. Ashleigh is a big fan of J’adore and the Blooming Bouquet Ms. Dior. I have bought almost every version of J’adore for her and she has loved them all. Original J’adore is her signature scent. The La Colle Noire reminds me of a very refined Chloe Rose but the La Colle Noire is more sensual and sexy imo. Just smelling this makes me want to give Ashleigh a hig and be taken away by wonderful smell of this perfume. It is absolutely sexy and unforgettable. I know I will be buying a bottle of this every year for my favorite friend.

Truly beautiful! Smells exactly like a fresh rose. Good longevity. Has the classic Dior elegance, i.e. only those you allow to draw near you will be graced with smelling this aroma. And that’s the point, La Colle Noire is graceful and confident and doesn’t need to fill the room. Here, Dior has mastered the art of being transparent yet present; a wonderful experience all the way through. P.S. Other reviewers comparing this to MFK A La Rose or Parfums de Marly. I haven’t smelled those and I’m sure they smell great, however the medium and large sized bottles of La Colle Noire are easily half the price per mL if the other houses. I’d wager this is one of the highest quality rose scents for the money! Edit: I sprayed some just before bed, the next morning I’m still getting beautiful wafts of musk and sandalwood as I prepare my morning routine. I am so in love with my 8.5oz bottle, bout to rip it up this spring and summer 😍

So I had to update, after having and wearing it for quite sometime I think you should just skip it and go for the A la Rose by MFK, or might as well get Paul smith Rose(way cheaper and very similar) and here is why The price of Dior is ridiculously expensive and Some of them im sure worth it but not this one, there is rose fragrances that are 1/4 of this price and perform ether same or better. It just doesn’t last on the skin, the longevity sucks, it does smell good for may be few hours and it just go away. A la rose last on me for good 4-6 hours may be a little less in highs heat. I would say Paul Smith rose has same longevity and waaaaaay cheaper. I’ll be looking probably to sell it and invest in bigger bottle of MFK a la rose since I reach for it way more and get more compliments on it too, because it doesn’t just disappear.

This is such an underrated gem! I have the reformulation, so I can't compare to its predecessor (even though I initially reviewed the original on accident) but its a bright, sparkling fruit-tinged mildly spicy rose. This is not a traditional, outdated, or "potpourri" rose. This was truly love at first sniff and instantly became one of my favorites. I can pick up on the berries, rose, the woods, and a bit of honey adding a touch of sweetness. I have several rose fragrances but this one does not resemble any of them. It is pricey but for $250 you get 125 ml (4.25 oz or $59/oz). For comparison, Chanel Exclusifs run about $350 for 6.8oz, but for $350 you can get a 8.5 oz Dior privee. So while it's more expensive than their main collection, I find it more reasonably priced when compared with other brands’ private collections.

This perfume is a warm, rosey, fruity, jammy and welcoming hug. If you like roses, this perfume is right up your alley. It is much more of a deep rose than a light floral, but it's undeniably fresh roses and summer gardens. The fruity notes come through with the dry down, as does a muskier scent. After a few hours, the bright rose becomes more subtle and the other scent notes get a chance to shine. The website describes this perfume as -- "La Colle Noire eau de parfum is the silhouette of a rose skillfully intertwined with spicy and woody notes against a backdrop of patchouli" -- I don't get the patchouli at all, which works for me as it's a scent I typically don't go for. I adore this fragrance. It's refined and sophisticated. In my opinion the only drawback is the outrageous price tag.

A very beautiful fragrance. Lots of rose, a hint of raspberry, and some spices. It’s not identical, but it immediately reminded me of Hot Couture EDT, only more delicate, as the spices here feel much softer and less 'in-your-face'. I don’t smell the oud at all; in fact, I’m surprised to see it listed in the notes. To me, this is mainly a spicy rose fragrance, elegant and refined. Too bad the price is so high... Edit: I haven't been able to find the exact pyramid, but here's what the brand says: "La Colle Noire Eau de Parfum is a silhouette of a fleshy, sharp, almost wild rose, cleverly tied with spicy and woody notes on a patchouli base." That already aligns more with my impression even though I can't spot the patchouli.

I love roses 🌹 🌹 And this masterpiece smells like a real rose, believe me 🙌🏻 This smells amazingly soft and sensual, romantic, cosy, not so sweet, not so powdery, I don’t notice here oud, let’s say it’s a shadow or whisper of oud; very calming and relaxing 🧘🏼 When I’m sniffing this fragrance I imagine pink juicy, fresh, wet rosy petals with a few more sweet and fluffy peonies 🌹 🌸 This fragrance is magically similar to a woman’s nature, her bright energy and mood: It’s like your skin scent but better , it’s like nobody knows that you put perfume all over your body and like this is your natural , feminine, goddess smell 🌹 P.S. I adore this perfume. I am a huge lover of rose notes in perfumes in general, and this is no exception. It is pure roses, with the undertone of musk and a slight soapiness making the rose lean towards a warm and soft rose, rather than a fresh green rose. It reminds me a lot of another favourite scent, Amazing Grace Ballet Rose, only slightly more musky and sophisticated, with far better longevity. The musky sweet note almost slightly reminds me of marshmallow too, making the fragrance lean quite sweet. When paired with the matching lotion it is intensified and even more beautiful. Would highly recommend to any lover of sweet rosy perfumes.

I absolutely LOVE this fragrance and I agree with others that it's in the same realm as Delina--an alluring, fresh, sweet rose with fruity and woody notes. I definitely prefer this one. I agree with the reviewer who described Delina as being sharper than La Colle Noire. I wish it had better sillage/longevity but that's fine... The honey and oud in the base adds a lot of depth to the fragrance and sets it apart from most other perfumes. And while oud can often be an intense or off-putting note to the untrained nose, I think this scent is unoffensive and would easily be a crowdpleaser. Francois Demachy is truly a master of his craft.

This one is pure class! It’s in the same realm as Delina, but it’s the classy, rich sister, whereas Delina is just a wannabe. It’s so tender and soft, but also has a “don’t mess with me” attitude, because of the Oud and spices. It’s not very potent and the Sillage is not crazy, but that’s another point in the “rich smelling” direction, because the rich and classy never attract attention towards themselves. La Colle Noire is pure class! 💕 It’s also perfect for summer, it develops so well in the heat! It’s what a rich, old-money type of a woman would wear during her summers in France.

This is another Maison Francis Kurkdjian a la rose/ aqua do Parma rose Nobel/ Paul smith rose and etc. the only difference I see is in the first spray it smells more fresh roses like Paul smith roses and dry down smells more lemony musky, like a la rose from Mfk. Just helping you all save some $$$ a little. Oh and it’s definitely feminine fragrance. The dry down is very lemony so I see why it says for men too, but no. I wouldn’t want my man to wear this. It’s absolutely beautiful for women tho, just nothing there is a few dupes. And also the Bvlagari absolutely different fragrance.

La Colle Noire by Dior is pure goddess energy bottled ... A true embodiment of elegance. The blackcurrant and lemon add a crisp brightness at first spray, but it quickly melts into this plush bouquet of rose, peony, and soft lily, kissed with juicy raspberry and peach. The more I wear, the more I love. Every time I wear it I get so many compliments. It is nothing like delina. completed different categories, La colle noire does not have any vanilla. La colle noire can be a great introduction to oud for those that love florals, but are afraid of oud. Smells like a rich woman. Not like the ones that would post instagram pics of their chanel bags. The ones that spend summers in their house in the french riviera, but most people don't even know about it.

i received a sample when ordering from dior a while ago, and this is such a beautiful scent. its very feminine and girly, not bubbly, but rather a "put together and knows exactly what you are doing in life" girly. it smells like the version of myself that i aspire to become. i know this could sound dramatic but it is exactly how i feel smelling it. the rose note is fresh, light, and the slight woodiness makes the scent smell sophisticated. definitely would buy a full bottle one day :)

I’ve been wearing this on and off for several months and it’s one of my favorite fragrances. It’s a little sweet and a tad spicy, with beautiful rose and peony with a slight fruitiness. I wish a full bottle wasn’t so expensive because I could see this being a signature scent, particularly in the spring and summer. I adore it. It projects nicely and performs well on my skin and especially on my clothes. The dry down reminds me of Izia La Nuit from Sisley.

Fresh, bright and bursting berry-red roses — exactly the kind of scent that the luscious pink suggests. It is not cloying or sweet, but still lush full of romance. Smells like sunlight and a blooming rose garden come to life, with a joyful touch of red fruit. There is no other perfume like this. Transitions beautifully from day to night. My absolute favourite perfume. No other perfume comes close. I think I will adore this to my last breath.

Light, refreshing, sweet rose. La Colle Noire opens bold, has a very lush profile for the most part, and smoggy musk from the oud. Unlike some sweet roses in the fruit-tea category, this is not doing any back flips or hurdles. Easy, elegant, wearable. The scent is unique however, since the honey and peach combination with the oud base of sandalwood and musk impart a more pronounced effect than sugary, melting popsicles for example.

The rich floral rose and fruity scent are blended to create a fresh, radiant and elegant scent with a delicate deep pink hue. A unisex perfume with sweeter, more feminine notes. I can’t notice honey scent but rose scent in La Colle Noire is the Centifolia rose that it is known to cultivate for its singular fragrance—clear and sweet, with light notes of honey. I highly recommend to anybody who loves rose in their scents.

La Colle Noire by Maison Christian Dior A fruity rose fragrance. To my nose it is a rose-peach-amberwood scent, a bit sweet. I don't get oud at all. About performance, I got 4 hours of longevity with 2 hours of good projection. A pretty good performance for a rose scent I guess. Scent : quite unique and unisex, 9/10 Longevity : 6/10 Sillage : 7/10 I love it.

Beautiful, crisp, sweet & refreshing rose fragrance. I don't own too many rose dominant fragrances but this one does it for me. Has performed beautifully in this Louisiana heat. So feminine & elegant. Very simplistic with the slightest bit of depth from the oud & honey. My go-to when I just want to feel & smell pretty.

I love this perfume. My favourite rose fragrance along with Stella. After wearing this stunning ethereal sparkling clean pink rose of a scent all day. . I am now proceeding to bury my nose into my clothes and inhale the sexy warm musky sandlewood dry down. . . Do I need to say more.

The only 100% ROSE perfume out there. It’s incredibly beautiful, feminine and subtle. Not quite like anything I’ve ever smelled before, it’s a perfectly balanced fragrance that feels like a delicate hug.

Similar to Dior's Rose 'n roses, but more delicate.

A luscious rose in her prime blooms among the rolling hills of southern France, basking in the sun. Her petals are kissed by golden rays, edged with a tender lemon glimmer. Almost impossibly, a chorus of frilled peonies encircles her. Their exotic, oriental aroma softens the rose’s intensity and lends an airy lightness, lifting the scent and expanding its reach. This rose hails from the Grasse region of Provence. She is green, dewy‐fresh and luminous in character. Unlike her sisters of Damascene and China origins, she is sweet without ever turning sugary or cloying. She is rich, but in a refined and sensual manner. Lily-of-the-valley adds a few blades of cool, green grass, piercing the space between the blossoms. The artist uses this contrast to show flickers of light on both petals and polished surface. I can clearly imagine Monsieur Dior’s sister carrying such blooms into his house on the La Colle Noire estate, arranging them into a breathtaking bouquet full of colour and divine aroma. The rose lingers on the skin for many hours, and even in the drydown she still leads the choir. Woods and musk appear as flickering sparks, bouncing between the petals and the shining surfaces around them. In the very final act, a bright woody freshness rises to the foreground, providing a beautiful, luminous counterpoint to what came before. I will be sure to revisit this perfume in the fall–winter season to see how it behaves in the cold. Until then, “La Colle Noire” is my favourite rose for spring–summer 2026.

La Colle Noire, Dior (batch from 2019) La Colle Noire names after property of Dior which is the place that inspires few iconic creation. Dreaming of the field full of May Rose, La Colle Noire was created. La Colle Noire is (imho) bare-bone of floral scent the fruity-rose genre. The syrupy fruity amber rose. The opening I get the Blackcurrant syrup. Before moving to floral heart which is Rose dominant on kind of smooth syrupy bed. This certain vibe was carried over to few Feminine oriented fragrances in the line. As it moves to the base, it is less florally, move to ambery wood kind of aspect. I think "La Colle Noire" is unisex syrupy fruity rose-dominant offering compare to others in the market. I have nothing to compare.. really. This is in its own league. It is not Delina's profile (which is Rose x Vanilla) this is Rose x Fruity Syrup. Other fews alternative would be: Rose Ardente by Givenchy (discontinued) Lavalliere by Yves Saint Laurent (more figgy, fresher, woodier, slight sweeter) Rose des Vents Louis Vuitton (more Iris kind-of-powdery in dry down) I pass this era for quite a while, I can't remember the last time I reach to this. But this is one of my selection in this Genre (along with the one a mention above). If you are not into this profile, I think you can choose one of above this and move on. Still, this is a solid offering for me. 8/10 May 12 : I have any idea to declutter this but its simplify fruity-rose kinda holds me. It is easy to understand-easy to love and strongly study. It is really enjoyable...

This was a love at first sniff for me. I spend the last few years testing rose perfumes, looking for a rose that isn't too sweet, too old fashion, too faint or just mixed with other notes (like violets). And I finally found my perfect rose! I agree with reviews below which say it is very pretty and almost princess like. It is clean, a little bit fresh but still very recognisably a true rose to my nose. It has a very classy feel and I think it could smell great on anyone anywhere. I can imagine it perfect for spring and summer! The only downside is the price, but in this case I dare say it is worth it. The best rose I ever smelled!

This is a really nice addiction to the private collection I wore Stella McCartney for over 2 yrs straight in my teens and to me this is not alike. The honey and oud make it different then just a usual fruity light rose scent, very interesting It's nice and I appreciate the work that went into it but it is just too light for me I would like it stronger and more thick and syrupy but that's just my taste. A lovely versatile pretty innofennsive scent for day wear weddings, christenings everyday shopping or day dates in a pretty summer dress. Compared too holy peony I prefer this.

A fruity rose perfume. Not your typical ordinary rose scent because rose is not particularly in the lead. It blends with fruity notes to create a wonderful amalgam of scents. Funny thing with this perfume is that I suddenly became anosmic to it after a few minutes. The scent and its silage is there but I can hardly smell it, even after trying reapplying it. Every once in a while I get a micro whiff of it but that’s about it. Probably won’t be voting on longevity since it won’t be accurate. Will probably retry this another day, hopefully will get a better result.

Taking a decant of this for a spin today! It is a wonderful rose — a true rose but also modern. It does share similarities with Stella by Stella McCartney, but perhaps more so to the Rose Absolute version of it. This is a deeper, less dewy rose than MFK's A La Rose. This is fresh, deep, with a little sweetness and complexity. Longevity and projection are both moderate for me. This would be a contender for a full bottle purchase for me if I didn't already have so many rose fragrances in a similar vein. I am enjoying this one.

This is a pleasant water floral with tartness. I actually get a decent 6 hours of wear out of it with the first 3 hours being moderate if I soak myself in overspray. There is a lemony raspberry element that lasts through the entire life of the scent. I get zero oud, no sandalwood, no woodiness at all. It is refreshing and not at all thick or deep. Great for summer. In the same category as L'Imperatrice for me. 4/5

A beautiful fresh Rose, slightly fruity, with very well blended florals that don’t stand out. Smells of good quality ingredients. You have to love Rose to like this and the Rose is definitely the star, it’s a Rose scent above all else. The oud and wood aren’t strong enough to make it sexy really, they’re barely detectable and it’s a fresh fruity Rose not a sultry one. Edit: dries into a fruity scent, still nice.

A gently spiced, lightly sweet rose to my nose, brightened by the citrus and fruit components but still all about the rose. Not sharp and green or jammy either. The oud here is not skanky or barnyardesque, but very, very subtle which I detect as adding some depth and darkness to this rose. Pretty, reads mass appealing and yet not a typical rose oud or green fresh rose either. I like it very much.

Pink roses raspberries peaches and lemonade. Dry down is sweet musky and sexy. For the most part, this line I always overspray, and I get moderate projection. This collection’s specialty isn’t screaming at everyone that walks by you. They whisper, lure, draw you in closer. They play coy but they are always there. Soft spoken but stick around. Always classy always beautiful. I love this line.

A wine-forward rose. This smells alcoholic and almost heavy in the opening. However, it settles into a very classy lemony rose with a fun kick to it. This is like something that Penhaligon’s would produce. Honestly, very gorgeous, but a touch generic. What really makes it stand out as the raspberry note, and that is quite fleeting.

Fruity rose, with raspberry and peony supporting from behind. Beautiful fragrance, light and airy. To me, this isnt unisex, and suited for female users. The performance could be better, but consistent with the rest of the maison christian dior line, with about 5 hours longevity and minimal sillage.

Soft sour lemon balanced with sweet, juicy raspberry on a bed of fresh rose to open. Dries down to more muted, yet rich and spicy honey-amber rose. Projection is fairly low. Comforting, gentle feminine scent that's perfect for a sunny day in spring.

It's very nice & effortless (I like it more than Gypsy & Kabuki), but perhaps a little mundane...I'd choose something cheaper or more unique.

Rose holds a special place in my heart. La Colle Noire is like many designer rose fragrances. Bouquet, floral, petaly, soft. The black currant, in this case most likely Cassis Base, gives it a slight sulfurous and sour opening paired with lemon. I applaud the restraint as these two notes can get quite hectic and out of hand quickly turning into a fabuloso type smell. Rose and berries like raspberry have always been very appealing and popular to many, and adding oud is almost mandatory. Obviously the oud and rose here are not real rose and oud, so you get a much softer and more subtle presentation in its aroma. Recently been getting into Peony myself and have found that I enjoy its delicate nature with its freshness and summery feel. Very reminiscent of muguet, most of peony in perfumery comes from rose materials and makes sense that it was included. Amberwood is my only gripe. The dry, ambery, almost ozonic infatuation going around with this material in modern perfumery can be quite nauseating. Ambrocenide, z11 MIP, Ambermax, AmberXtreme. It just gives me a headache in the large doses that they beat into these formulas. That being my only gripe, not bad all around. A pleasing rosy fragrance that has a mass appealing edge. If you are afraid of oud or honey, I get pretty much none of it

I have being testing my bottle of La Colle Noire since it arrived a few days ago with Sakura. I was so excited to try this one out because of all the lovely reviews and I bought both scents blindly online, having never smelt them before. All I get is Roses like rose water smell. Nice fresh smell but it doesn’t develop into anything else. No citrus notes, no woody notes. Just roses from beginning till the scent fades off within an hour. I will give it some time and review again but for now, I am really disappointed with this perfume and just grateful that Sakura is performing so well (and to think I was worried I won’t like it as much as La Colle Noire).

It used to be such a beautiful frag to me but after a few years, I’m not so sure...perhaps I’m just not tolerating the combo of muskiness and Oud in it? The rose note is a little too watery for me as well which makes this fragrance difficult to keep on all day. Not a fan anymore...

It's okay. It's a safe version of Delina if you ask me. The scent is very weak, so I can't imagine that it will last long and the projection is minimal. Just buy Delina, buying this feels like a waste of money.
